We had a fantastic meal here. The salmon omelette was fresh and flavorful, and the chorizo quesadilla had the perfect amount of spice and cheese. Every bite was delicious! Beyond the food, the portions were very generous and the service was excellent. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved our experience at Mason Diner, and a huge part of that is thanks to Alex! From the moment we sat down, his service was outstanding. He was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. What really set Alex apart was how thoughtfully he handled our dietary restrictions. He took the time to understand exactly what we needed, offered great recommendations, and made sure everything was prepared perfectly so we felt comfortable and well taken care of. Alex was such a highlight that we actually came back again specifically because of him. That truly says everything. It is rare to find a server who makes you feel so welcomed and valued, and Alex absolutely did that. On top of the incredible service, the food was excellent. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The combination of amazing food and Alex’s exceptional service made our visits truly memorable. Mason Diner is lucky to have him, and we will definitely keep coming back. Highly recommend asking for Alex if you are there!

And the orange juice is almost like they have a grove by the restaurant because it is clearly fresh squeezed and tastes terrific. I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast at Mason diner! My pancakes, sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs were so tasty, and it really set me up for the day! The staff were also super friendly, and I felt very welcome. I really enjoyed the classic diner aesthetic!

We tried four brunch spots during our trip to California, and this one was hands down our favorite. The hash browns were perfectly golden and crispy, cooked to absolute perfection! 😍 The restaurant has a charming retro atmosphere, and since it partners with our hotel (Handlery), we even got a 10% discount. Everything was just perfect, we’ll definitely come back the next time we’re in San Francisco.👏

What a gem of a NYC style restaurant/diner. I felt like I was back on 5th Ave enjoying food prepared by people that know what they are doing. You can't go wrong bringing the whole family here as the food is delicious and there is something for the entire family to enjoy. Prices are very reasonable for San Francisco and the staff are very friendly and professional.

Mason Diner was a pleasant spot to grab a meal. The staff were friendly and welcoming which made the visit enjoyable. The food was tasty, though the portions were on the smaller side. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, perfect for a relaxed meal. If you are staying at HI Hostel next door, you even get a discount — just show them your booking. Overall it was a nice experience and worth a stop if you are in the area.

Food was good and came out quickly. I got a veggie omelette with avocado and hash browns with sourdough toast. The staff really doesn't communicate with each other and are easily overwhelmed if a lot of people come in so get your check quickly if you are in a hurry

This was a solid breakfast choice. I got the Philadelphia cheesesteak scramble with hash browns. My wife got the mushroom Benedict, and my Mom got the blueberry pancakes. The food arrived amazingly quick and was pretty good. My wife thought hers was a bit bland but otherwise good. The atmosphere is very orange, but nice. Oldies music playing in the background. Overall it was a great experience. I didn’t really like them putting on the menu that 18% tip is “customary”. I’d prefer to tip based on experience rather than guilt. But I guess some people don’t know, so that’s fine. The experience was good, our waiter was entirely too enthusiastic. I would definitely come again.

Neither the food nor the coffee was good! The service was so disrespectful, some staff could not even speak English! The price is NOT worth it! The eggs were supposed to be poached, came in fully boiled. It was an obvious mistake, but when I informed the waitress, she quite rudely responded: "This is our paoched"! And the cutlery in the photo speaks for itself, no need to comment! Plus, serving cold coffee with no saucer! And they expect you to pay at least 20% tip!
