People are nice and the salad with tuna is wholesome to where you could make a habit out of eating there and it would be a good thing.

I love this place! It's an authentic neighborhood spot right on Precita Park. Charlie is the absolute best, a huge hit with the kids and treats everyone like an old friend. My only wish is that it‘d be open more often. Be sure to try the Turkey Club sandwich!

The food is nothing crazy but what they do they do well. If you're looking for a tasty bagel and some nice brew and this place is on your way, do stop! I wish they opened a bit earlier, the opening hours posted as of 6/20/23 don't always seem to match, it's more 8am than 7:30am

Charlie's is a neighborhood institution, and Charlie himself is a man of the community. An unpretentious, reasonably-priced gem that is a rare breed in SF - one worth supporting! We love to swing by for morning coffee, especially on Fridays when they have their Bernal Bakery pop-up stand.

The coffee is great at Charlie’s. The sandwiches are great. The chai is great. But even more than that, Charlie and all the people who work there are warm and friendly and make my day better.

We were so delighted to stumble across this gem. Charlie was so warm and welcoming and made us feel like we were old friends coming in for a visit. He was so attentive to our three-year-old and made her feel so comfortable. We had the Mediterranean Platter and it felt like getting a home cooked meal- it was delicious and clearly made with love. We'll definitely come by again the next time we're in that part of town.

We were there on a Saturday afternoon when there was live music! Charlie is a great host and very welcoming. He even gave us an umbrella for the mission murals tour by the San Francisco city guides that starts there (another recommendation!)

I come here every weekend after taking my dog to the nearby park. The hot link sandwich is one of the best sandwiches ive ever had, and there's a lot of competition in the city. Charlie's food is legit, and it's a great spot to get in touch with local goings on.

The most charming neighborhood café in San Francisco! Home-made, tasty food (some vegan options too) in a cozy and familiar atmosphere. We were there on a Saturday afternoon when there was live music! Charlie is a great host and very welcoming. But it is all affordable and made with a smile. I really appreciate the community vibes here and hope to see some menu expansion. I feel like there will be something here I love. Still testing out their vegetarian items. Thanks for keeping it real Charlie's cafe!

This is great place if you enjoy restaurants with character. Unfortunately, the bagel breakfast sandwich was just okay. The bacon was extremely thin. The cheese seems like low end cheddar cheese you’d buy at a super market. The bagel itself was alight. Nothing special. The owner is super kind and helpful though.

We had the Folsom crepe and it was delicious. The coffee was just Okay but you can't beat the location located right across the street from Precita Park and down the Hill from Bernal Heights. This is a great spot to grab a quick bite after your morning workout or when you are taking the dog for a play in the park.
