Opinions de Haus Coffee San Francisco
Yaaay!! Just found this newly opened Nepali & Indian restaurant in Bay area and it’s a total win! I had the Bhindi Masala, Dal Makhani, and roti — everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and comforting, like a home-cooked meal. The place has a great vibe, friendly service, and an exciting menu that blends Indian and Nepali flavors. It’s also a locally owned business with a story, which makes supporting it even better. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!
I’m thrilled to welcome this exceptional, family-owned restaurant to the neighborhood. From the owner to the chef to the waitstaff, it’s truly a family affair—and that warmth and care radiate through every aspect of the experience. The service is both gracious and impressively informed, with staff eager to offer thoughtful recommendations and share their passion for the cuisine. We sampled the Samosa Chaat, Paneer Lababdar, Goat Korma, and Dal Fry, accompanied by perfectly blistered garlic naan. Each dish was a masterclass in complexity and balance—layered with vibrant spices and deep, soulful flavor. You can taste the tradition and love in every bite. The space itself has been thoughtfully remodeled since its previous iteration. It’s inviting, intimate, and ideal for relaxed conversation over a shared meal. This is the kind of place you return to—not just for the food, but for the experience. I can already tell it will become a regular part of my dining rotation.
I had an absolutely amazing experience at Bir Kitchen, located at 3111 24th Street, San Francisco. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and warm. I ordered the Paneer Paratha, and it was delicious — freshly made, perfectly spiced, and filled with flavorful paneer. The balance of taste, texture, and presentation was spot-on. It truly felt like a taste of home. Overall, a perfect experience. Great service, cozy ambiance, and authentic Nepali flavors. Highly recommend to anyone looking for comforting and satisfying Nepali food in the Bay Area
Best momos I’ve had. They’re hand pleated with love. Manchurian cauliflower was crunchy and flavorful. Satisfying naan. Eggplant and chickpea were delightful. Everyone was friendly. Clean. Nice decor. Must try
We ordered family style for 4 people - 2 styles of momos, 2 curries, 2 naan, and gobi Manchurian. Everything was fresh and tasted delicious! It was the perfect amount of food for the table.
From the moment I stepped into Bir Kitchen, I was transported to a place where delicious food, impeccable service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere come together perfectly. This is more than just a meal; it’s an experience. Food: Every dish we ordered was a masterpiece. The flavors were rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced. The Chicken Biryani, in particular, was a standout—tender, aromatic, and packed with flavor. It’s clear that the chefs here use only the finest ingredients and cook with passion. Whether you’re a fan of spicy dishes or prefer something milder, there’s something for everyone on the menu. Don’t skip the Rice Pudding for dessert; it’s the perfect ending to your meal! Service: The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff were not only friendly but also highly knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations based on our preferences. They were attentive without being overbearing, and everything arrived at the table at just the right time. It felt like a personal touch that made the dining experience even more special. Ambience: The atmosphere at Bir Kitchen is cozy yet elegant, blending traditional Indian decor with modern touches. The soft lighting and tasteful furnishings create a welcoming vibe, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy your meal, and feel right at home. Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit if you’re craving authentic Indian cuisine in a comfortable, refined setting. I can’t wait to return!
Absolutely loved Bir Kitchen! Beautiful setup inside — clean, neat, and gives such a positive vibe. The presentation was on point and the jhol momo was amazing. Highly recommend!
Traveled all the way from North Carolina to try Bir Kitchen and WOW - what an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, the friendly kitchen staff and excellent service made us feel so welcome. Everything was freshly made and you could taste the difference in every bite. The Chicken Kebab was grilled to absolute perfection, and don’t even get me started on the Baby Chili Corn appetizer - phenomenal! The bone-in Chicken Curry was cooked flawlessly with beautiful texture and an amazing blend of flavors that had us speechless. Generous portion sizes, authentic flavors, and that perfect balance of spices - everything about this meal exceeded our expectations. If you’re in the area or even traveling from out of state like we did, Bir Kitchen is a MUST visit.
I catered Bir Kitchen for a 40 person student event at my organization and their catering exceeded all expectations! The owner helped me craft a menu and even gave a free item, the food was delicious and extremely flavorful, and the owner personally delivered the food and made sure we had all the necessary signage. This was the student's favorite meal and Bir Kitchen will be my go-to restaurant for any Indian/Nepalese catering in the future. I'd 10/10 recommend their catering.
Found this place by scrolling on Google Maps. The pictures looked amazing so we had to try it. My partner and I are huge fans of Indian food and Chinese food so we figured this would be perfect for our anniversary date. When we arrived we were greeted by super friendly staff and they set up a really nice spot for us. They even gave us some champagne on the house and a little light-up sign to celebrate our anniversary. By the recommendation of the host, we ordered the Manchurian Chicken (5+ stars, very good), the aloo tikki chaat (5 stars, unique and yummy), butter naan, the chicken momo jhol style (5++ stars so so good, such a unique flavor), and the palak paneer (5 stars). We really appreciated the kind staff and the wonderful chefs - we will definitely be back!
One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to! Everything was so fresh and tasted authentic. Loved that they had indo-Chinese classics as well. The naans were literally the best naan I’ve ever had at an Indian restaurant - def get the cheesy naan- so fluffy! We got some apps, samosa chaat, meat platter, noodles, biryani - and everything was delicious. This place is a hidden gem!
Edit: I ordered from them again, the same item and some other ones (Kheer, chicken thali, goat roast biryani, and mango chicken tikka). All of them were GOOD! I personally really like the mango chicken tikka and kheer. Will continue ordering from here and changing the rating to five stars. I ordered their chicken biryani on DoorDash and I received raw chicken. Literally raw in the center. I don’t see the option to attach photos to the review but published it in the photos section on Google for this restaurant. The food tasted good so if you’re ordering from here pick the items with the least possibility of being undercooked.
This place is unbelievably good. We had the piro chatpate, vegetable johl momo, house special biryani, tandoori roti, and chicken lababdar. Every single dish was outstanding and portions were very generous. Can't wait to come back to try more!
i went two days in a row because their hot and sour soup impressed me so much on my first visit. everything tasted delicious, from their momos to the Szechuan noodles, youre definitely going to find something to your taste on the menu. also very impressed with the vegetarian options
The chicken dum biryani was genuinely excellent. The rice was fluffy, the chicken was tender, and the spices were balanced in a way that made every bite flavorful without being overwhelming. It was satisfying, rich, and definitely something I’d order again.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this place and was particularly impressed with their chole bhature. The practice of serving bhature fresh and hot directly enhances the dining experience. Overall, I was satisfied with both the quality of the food and the level of service provided. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others.
Excellent customer service!!! Food was amazing! Staff was friendly and extremely nice! They accommodated our group with no problems! One of the best places to go have a great time with family and co-workers!
Bir kitchen is a new Nepali restaurant that is family owned and operated. Everything here from the staff to the food is warm and inviting. As the weather gets colder, fresh cooked food like this is perfect. I got the masala papadum, piro chatpate, baby corn manchurian, tandoori momo, and also the house special biryani. - The appetizers were really fun and crunchy to eat. The piro chatpate has crushed up instant noodle and seasoning, and eating it felt really whimsical. I think it would be a great bar snack with a beer. - I loved the baby corn manchurian! The chili sauce is savory, sweet, and tangy, while the corn adds a slight crunch. - It was my first time having momos tandoori style, and I really enjoyed the meat filling. Preparing it tandoori style takes a lot of time so I applaud the effort that goes into this dish. The homemade green chutney is superb, and the spice gradually adds as you eat more. - house special dum biryani is artfully made. I can taste the curated spice blend like saffron, cardamom, coriander, and more. This spice is the one that grows from your belly, not the spice that burns your tongue. Bir Kitchen has a huge menu, tons to choose from. Very vegetarian and vegan friendly. Perfect for sharing with a group. Please support small businesses like Bir Kitchen!
This is the best place for all the heavy hitters. I am so thrilled with the level of culinary skill that I want everyone who appreciates great desi food to get to experience the food here. I started coming here a month after they opened. I've probably eaten here 5 times and ordered out 4 times. In particular, these are my favorite things to order: The Non-Veg platter. It includes: ------ Tandoori Chicken: most tender tandoori chicken I've ever had in ages. It compared a legendary tandoori spot that I went to in the Margalla Hills in Pakistan. Chicken Manchurian: a classic indochinese fusion dish, it takes crispy fried chicken and tosses it in a perfectly tangy, not too spicy, savory sauce. Chili Momo (4 pieces): The crispy fried dumpling is filled with a juicy, herbaceous, super tasty ground chicken. It's then tossed In sauce of garlicy onions & bell peppers. Fried fish: perfectly fried appetizer bites of breaded fish are topped with minced fried red onions. The topping is SO GOOD. ------ Butter Chicken: you can taste the Ghee and the cream. It's so good and the chicken is tender tender tender. It's served with fluffy basmati rice in copper dishes. Chicken Lababdar. A Mughlai dish that you never see on most menus unless you're in South Asia. This is a MUST try. The chicken is tender and the cashew, ghee, and cream sauce is incredible. We always order this. Naan: The fluffy garlic naan is topped with ghee and there is whole fennel seed in the dough. It tastes so good when it's cooked. Chapati- 2 smaller pieces in an order. They are soft and delicious. Gulab Jamun- served warm. It is THE BEST with layers of flavor, made with ghee, bathed in an aromatic syrup. Mango lassi- they use fresh mango. It's great. All the chutneys and sauces are substantial, super fresh, and aromatic.
Great for small parties or even large parties as they have a beautiful large table in the back room for a more private event! The food and flavors are impeccable! Authentic chefs from Nepal that will dazzle your tastebuds. Great service. Can’t say enough of how good this place is!
Bir Kitchen on 24th Street in San Francisco’s Mission District is a true gem, serving the best Indian and Nepali food with authentic flavors and generous portions. From flavorful momos, crispy samosas, and fragrant biryani to juicy tandoori chicken and sweet gulab jamun, every dish is prepared to perfection. If you’re looking for the top restaurant on 24th Street San Francisco for authentic, delicious, and unforgettable dining, Bir Kitchen is a must-visit.
Samosa chaat split between my husband and I as an appetizer filled us up rather quickly. We still ordered gobi (cauliflower) manchurian, fulki pani puri, and tandoori style chicken momos. We had some leftovers as expected and will definitely be back to try the other four variations of momos they offer (steamed, pan-fried, jhol, and chili).
This place serves amazing momos and indo-Chinese dishes. Everything we ordered was amazing!! Must try!! I keep coming to SF just to eat here.
Incredible flavors and fresh ingredients I tried the Gobi Chilli and the Salad, and both dishes exceeded my expectations! The presentation of both dishes was also top-notch. If you're looking for something tasty yet wholesome, this place really nails it. Highly recommended!! Bir kitchen rocks 🎉🤩❤️
Had lunch at Bir Kitchen and absolutely loved the experience! The vibe was cozy and welcoming, and the staff’s hospitality made it even better. I tried their Chicken Lababdar—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Nepali Chatparte is my all time favorite! Don’t leave without trying their Kheer—a creamy, comforting rice pudding dessert that’s an absolute must. Can’t wait to go back!
I’ve lived in San Francisco for years and have experienced many great restaurants. And I think now, Bir Kitchen is one of my favorites of them all. The staff, cleanliness, and dining experience were all amazing. The smell of the Indian and Nepalese cuisine fusion in the restaurant made me more hungry as I awaited for my chicken komra and naan. The meal itself was phenomenal. I also had a house salad as well which brought some balance to my dinner. I’m absolutely looking forward to my next experience here soon.
Absolutely Delicious! A must try-in spot for Samosa and Naan lovers. I recently visited this place and was blown away by the food! The samosas were perfectly crispy on the outside and packed with flavorful filling-one of the best I’ve ever had. The naan was warm, soft and freshly baked, ideal for scooping up every bite. The curry was amazing. If you’re craving top-notch Indian food, this place is a gem. Highly recommend!
Everything was absolutely delicious! I had a ton of different food, momos, tikkala chicken, even an authentic Nepali paani puri. The presentation and taste were on point. And the atmosphere is super nice. Highly recommend
It was insanely yummy and I’ll definitely be coming back. The food was so authentic and every dish was spot on. We got the platter of momos, chicken tikka, Manchurian, and fish fry and we got chicken momos, chole bature and Nepali paani puri. I highly recommend everything but especially the platter. Service was lovely too!
The food was delicious here, I highly recommend the alloo samosas, butter chicken and thali meal plates! I was craving Indian food and this place certainly hits the spot. Will be back for more!

We tried their mango chicken kebab, and Jhol Momo. Both were very delicious. We spend a very good time with my family. Will definitely go back again.
Best North Indian food I’ve had in California. Chicken korma was out of this world. So was the mango lassi, thick, homely and fresh. Highly recommend
Amazing food. I'm gonna be a regular at this place. The ambiance was excellent and pleasant. It's pretty good smelling. All the dishes were delicious. Worth trying it.

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The food, the prices, the location, the atmosphere, the staff all make it feel like a cozy home I know and love rather than just a a place to eat. As a vegan, I love the plentiful variety of plant based options. The Gobi Manchurian is easily some of (if not thee) best I’ve ever had! The kinda place I can easily eat from multiple times a week. I <3 Bir Kitchen!
Update - we went back last week and took some friends with us and it was sooo nice . They remembered us and got us a spinach pakora and wine right away. Their hospitality and service is beyond words. Thank you Rubinaji and everyone 🙏🏼 we will be back soon with more friends soon ❤️. Old : We tried this place tonight - items I ordered were really tasty veg steamed momo, and veg chowmein mild and onion pakora. My husband got the goat dum biryani - it was not what he was expecting . The place was slammed with lot of diners and also lot of takeout orders . Staff is attentive but also very busy . The lady who took our order forgot about the wine we ordered . The biryani and pakoras took almost 45 min from when we ordered at least. We will go back maybe not for biryani . Nice ambience , staff was very sweet .
The food is delicious! My family eats a LOT of Indian and Nepali food and this was definitely one of the best we have had. Two samosas for $7 and they were big with two very fresh chutneys that were delicious. Fried momos were very juicy and flavorful and the sauces were excellent. Perfect garlic naan. Loved the goat biriyani. Excellent flavor with cracked bones lending marrow flavor to the rice. Lots of meat. Waiter forgot to get our chicken korma order in but that was a blessing as we were stuffed. Seating arrangement for a four top table wasn’t very comfortable as the table legs made it very hard to get up and out of the seat plus a beam would have made seating for 4 very tight. Service was a little slow as they got quite busy toward 7:30 pm. But would definitely go back as the food was delicious!

The biriyani is the Hyderbadi style of biryani and I liked that. This is my second time ordering in, my first time was good, so I went with different options this time, did not like it the second time much. First time, Chole Bhatura was good- highly recommend it. The Shahi chicken biryani is good- recommend it. The second time I ordered egg chowmein- this is not great, so that was a bummer. Also ordered, the goat roast biriyani which is okay, not great- mediocre, the shahi chicken biriyani is definitely better.
New Indian spot that opened up in mission with lots of potential. Went last week and tried a bunch of different things. Tandoori chicken was fire, 10/10. Chili chicken was a kind of dry and overcooked, and I think the fried momos just aren’t my cup of tea. Still tasty. Tandoori roti was also 10/10, better than the naan tbh which was a bit underwhelming. Malai Kofta was very good, will have to try other curries next time. I can see this spot being one of the best in SF. Need to go back and try other items. Definitely recommend checking it out. Great service too.
Definitely up-and-coming in the area. We had chicken manchurian and chole bhature. The chicken manchurian in my view was very saucy (Ketchupy). Maybe that's a me problem, but could be more material in the sauce itself so it doesn't feel like I'm having close to ketchup. The chole bhature was amazing. It felt like I was back in Delhi, having great bhature and great chole. Really enjoyed it.

The servers were extremely kind and the atmosphere is nice, however, the food is profoundly disappointing. They were able to make a vegan thali, but it was meager and the dishes just weren’t very good. This is also NOT a thali to share, it was quite skimpy compared to most I have had across SF. They did bring out one more small dish toward the end because I could tell they felt bad, but it wasn’t tasty. I would give this place a miss.
This review is based on a delivery order. Chicken Korma: Chicken used was mostly bones - 5 small pieces of chicken that were mostly bone and cartilage. The sauce was not what I expected, it was not creamy felt more like a tomato based. Dal Makhni: Way too oily, had to remove a top layer of oil. Once served, the spices were good. Eggplant: My favorite of the three dishes. Note: all entrees come with a side of rice. I didn’t know that so I ordered extra rice, oops.

I wish I could rate this spot higher, but we waited an hour to receive any of our order at all, and the place wasn’t even close to capacity. The decor was cozy, and woman who was host, server, and food runner was very kind and was doing her absolute best, but they must hire another front of house person, for both her sanity and the success of the business. DoorDash orders were a constant stream in and out, and they didn’t even serve us roti until the very end when we were about to just leave, all of our order came at once, clearly only after she had to prod the kitchen staff to rush the order. The food was well-prepared and yet an unremarkable experience because of the unacceptable wait for staple Indian food. My take is that unless they want to become a delivery-only business, they need to fix the front of house, and figure out how to prioritize dine-in guests in the kitchen. I definitely won’t be coming back for dinner, there are too many other spots who have the dining experience figured out. I wish the best for the kind woman doing the work of three people.
I ordered today through DoorDash after seeing all the 5-star reviews, but I was a bit disappointed. The aloo paratha didn’t really have any aloo in it.. it just felt like a plain roti..The samosa and paneer lababdar were actually good, but they missed the rice that was supposed to come with the paneer. Also, the four pakoras that were listed with the samosa didn’t come either. They can definitely do better.
