The miso soup was bland but everything else was amazing

FANTASTIC. The owner of this place is a genius. There is such an attention to detail here. The lighting is great, the food is served on fun wood plates, the menu design is elegant. It's hard to believe a this place exists on 24th. The quality of the food is excellent. We received our food almost immediately and it tasted like they everything was freshly cut and prepared. The prices are also amazing. This should have just a $ for price. You can buy a medium/large sake for only $6 which is normally $12 at other places. The happy hour is also excellent. This is my new favorite sushi spot in SF!

Excellent restaurant with great food. The food quality is amazing, with a lot of variety. Also has unique food options, must try new dishes. Staff is very nice and helpful. Great place for a beautiful date night.

Loved the sashimi! Cozy spot in the Mission district!

I'm not really sure what to have such a soft spot for Sake Bomb. The food is good, the prices are modest (for sushi), and the decor is fairly drab. But there's never a wait, and walking home along 24th makes me feel lucky to live in San Francisco 🍣💣

Great place to come if you're looking for reasonably priced sushi and amazing energy . Staff was very friendly, food was fresh and wait time was short . I tried the volcano roll , spicy tuna hand roll, double trouble roll, and some nigiri. Literally no complaints .

I’m very satisfied with this lil’ spot. Came for a happy hour ( 5-7 pm) I had the oysters ( delicious) hot sake, hand rolls, great prices, great service.

Delicious sushi and sashimi in the mission SF! Happy hour oysters were the bomb as they had a bit of vinegar, fish eggs, and scallions - fabulously different than just raw oysters. Had a great time with many sushi dishes and various flavored cold sake. They had a happy hour, which we sampled a few items. Will return!

Wow I've had a lot of sushi and this was easily the freshest and best tasting I've ever had! If you like sushi you will not be disappointed!

I have gone here so many times and bring friends often! I love this restaurant and think they are just high quality for a great price! They have really great pricing for happy hour on their oysters and I always recommend people get some of their garlic edamame, we always finish every piece! Great for dates and small outings with friends or family.

This is one of my favorite sushi spots. The prices are so good for the quality, the space is never too crowded but has a nice buzz, the food is both fast and delicious, and their staff are attentive and nice. Their custom rolls and nigiri plates are a bit more unique and thoughtful. Whenever someone asks me out to sushi I see if we're closer enough to this place first.

I figured there would be many Mexican restaurants around Mission, but then I noticed this Japanese restaurant. We came during happy hour (5-7pm) and ordered mainly food from their happy hour menu. Most things were discounted a couple dollars, while most of the sushi was only $1 off. The regular menu was fairly small compared to most restaurants. All the food we got was delicious, it just would have been better with a little more portions. For example, the baby fried calamari could fit in my hand. Both service and presentation is good. This is a good place to go if you want Japanese food where Mexican restaurants dominate the area.

Fast, friendly service. Really cute, warm atmosphere. Very pretty and unique presentation of food. Everything we had was delicious. Miso soup, sexy girl roll, spider crab roll, Hamachi kama, unfiltered white peach sake.

My new favorite Japanese restaurant! Tasty, fresh sushi (we loved the hamachi nigiri and double salmon rolls but everything was good) as well as cooked dishes (gyoza were crunchy & delicious). Despite their boozy name, they're kid-friendly (they've got high chairs and were very accommodating to our 2 year old). Also had lots of gluten-free options for my wife. Ever since Shimo's closed in the Richmond, we've been searching for a high quality but not too expensive sushi place...now we've found it!

4 Visits. Now the only sushi place walking distance from my home. High quality and fresh food. Can be a little expensive but they have some amazing unique creations. Previous visit I had the seafood salad that was just right. Recent visit we tried the happy hour dinner 15% off.

Good food and drinks. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sashimi. The hot sake was decent quality for its cheap price, and the sweet plum dessert wine was deceptively delicious. Edamame had little salt, you can decide if you like that or not.

The actual sake bomb was awesome, the last time I had them was in Washington DC. Its a thing! The the decor was cute, relaxing vibe, Not pretentious at all. The space was small but I'm starting to realize that most spot in SF are small like THE Big 🍎. It makes me appreciate ATL!😝 we did not eat,but everything looked really good. A fun place to gather with friends! Came here on a Saturday and they had ample seating and lots of reservations left. Good: Very solid sushi rolls! I really loved the 24th and OMG and volcano rolls. Especially with the volcano roll they really loaded up on the crab meat and toppings. The chicken karaage was good as well and super crispy in texture. I enjoyed the cute sake cups too. Bad: Service is so hard to flag down! Really rarely did we get someone to check in on us or get our food order so it was a longer wait time for sure. Really loud too so it’s hard to hear your friends but it’s a very party hangout vibe. —— Overall was a fun place for a big group to congregate and enjoyed sharing many plates!

Happened to be in the area for some errands. We were craving sushi and found two restaurants. Sake Bomb was the more economically friendly option thus we ended up coming here. The restaurant was clean, the service was prompt, and the quality was appropriate relative to price. The grilled squid was prepped well and we were satisfied with the portion size. Would love to try their monkfish liver next time around. I’d definitely choose this restaurant again if the sushi craving hits while I’m in the area.

+ Good food, good servers, not too expensive ($100 for two). - Bad atmosphere. This place gets tons of takeout orders through delivery apps, so drivers are constantly in and out. They keep the front doors wide open for them, which would be fine if this place wasn't on 24th street. We were sitting indoors but still got repeatedly wafted by exhaust from cars, vape hits, and weed smoke, which kinda ruined the experience.

F
Francis Pang

I went to the restaurant on 27 July. Service: The service provided is mediocre. The waitress doesn't proactively refill both my hot tea and water. Food: We taste the uni which isn't as fresh. Beef Teriyaki is meh with overcooked meat. The japenelo popper is fine. Ambience: The interior looks like a modern Japanese eatery, clean. There is a chef table if you want to dine alone. Value (3/5): The price is average market rate. The portion is normal US portion.

E
Erica Lee

Fish quality was okay The rolls had way too much rice Miscommunication on uni nigiri order A bit cold inside

D
Danny Boord

Who do you think you are? I would recommend the chef and person who sources your fish go to any of the following restaurants in the area and tell me the price, which is the same or exceeds each place, for your plastic-lack-in-flavor-and-texture sushi is anywhere near justified: Saru, Hon, Shio or Okeri. The exorbitant price for mediocre quality really just left a bad taste in my mouth. Charge 20-30% less and I might come back. Staff and chef were 20 somethings who know nothing. Lacking in skill and service, my favorite. Just nothing redeeming about this place at that price. Lower the price and I lower the bar. Bottom line on top: Stay away from this place, my two cents.

B
Bryan Wu

Food was good as usual. Service however was a let down today. We paid but the cashier sent the waiter down the street yelling at us for the payment. We had to go back and proved we paid. Not a great experience. This will be the last time to dine here.

L
Lei Howk

It was worth one try but we will not be back. I was going to give it 3 stars but then they debated with me on the short rib price. We ordered 3 of them at happy hour prices and they charged me full price. Only $3 difference for 3 orders but I don't appreciate them not knowing their own pricing. Happy hour menu is pretty much regular price elsewhere and sometime has less food. The big boy roll was not big at all. Only 5 pieces for $12 for happy hour. Other places would have 6-8 pieces. Tempura mix was a rip off as the 2 shrimp tempura was good but rest was basically mostly batter and oyster mushroom. So you pay $9 for just the two shrimp I ordered hot tea and they never came by to check if it needs to be refilled. Also our last order of short rib took like 30 min to be served. Chicken karage and gyoza was just okay. Overall a sub par experience.

A
Alex Chang

Ordered $120 worth of Doordash, and the food quality was low. Was surprised and disappointed after seeing generally high reviews. $45 nigiri plate had 10 pieces with the thinnest fish slices I've ever had on nigiri, and the fish quality was generally low (dry, slimy, some questionable or about to go bad). All 3 rolls lacked flavor (salmon lover was OK, but one of the worse ones I've had), and Jalapeño poppers were mediocre (again, lacking seasoning and flavor).

N
Nick Busscher

Sake bombed our delivery. Bland and bad smelling miso soup, old avocado in the California roll. Spicy tuna and salmon roll also did not taste great. Felt like we got some old rolls that had been sitting around for hours. We threw half of it away, and what we did eat did not taste good either.

Ordered on line, was charged $8 for a single inari filled with crab. They confirmed with us that it would be $5 for the adaptation, for two pieces I thought that was fine. Not for one. Just a massive rip off. Ordered an item literally labeled “shrimp tempura” and it came as a roll which removed one persons entire order as they don’t eat seaweed. Salmon skin handroll was soggy and the skin was in tiny little flakes, almost ground. Overall poor quality ingredients, took significantly longer than expected to arrive, and customer service has been defensive instead of helpful. Do not give this place your business.

N

terrible fish, terrible service. takes forever to get the waitress’s attention, the uni was so disgusting and low grade we couldn’t even finish it.

J

Hello, I just came to say that I do not recommend this restaurant. The service is very bad, the treatment is very bad, the kitchen takes a long time and all the employees have a bad attitude.

G
Guillermo

Delivery order was completely fumbled. The shrimp tempura was actually a roll with tiny pieces of shrimp even though it states "shrimp tempura" online. Only one Inari was $9 (we expected 2). Some of the rice in the sushi was crunchy. The overall quality of the vegetarian sushi was really bad. There are much better sushi restaurants in SF instead of this place. Not worth the money.
