Opinions de Tacorea San Francisco
We came here today because we had often seen long lines outside and were curious to try it ourselves. For the burritos, I ordered the beef tongue, and the other dish (I can’t remember the exact name) was made with regular beef. Both were really delicious. The meat was flavorful, tender, and well-cooked. The restaurant was clean, and even the restroom was very clean. The staff were friendly and polite, and the service was smooth. Overall, we had a great experience, and in our opinion, this place definitely deserves five stars.
The burrito here was incredible, you watch them grill the meat fresh and all the ingredients were high quality and you can tell by the test. They recommend and tell you to get it dorado style and the contrast in texture when burrito is grilled added to how great the burrito was. I would recommend this to everyone in SF! Also when I was there they had people playing live music which added to the experience. Also the green says they had at the table was addicting. Already missing this place
Best burrito in the world nothing else compares and I’ve eaten a lot of burritos. I am not sure what it is but this place is just amazing. When my bf gets me from SFO I make him bring me this or if I’m visiting friends I always come here at least once. This place is always worth the wait and the amount of food they give for the price is a great deal too.
I’m from NYC and I’ve had a lot of great Mexican food at home but this was unlike anything I’ve tried before and very delicious and filling. The carne asada tacos were tasty and the chicken quesadilla was so flavorful! Would highly recommend checking it out if you’re visiting SF
We went to La Taqueria on Saturday around 4:30 PM, and the line was really long. It literally wrapped around the street corner. Parking in the area is also a bit difficult, so I’d recommend taking MUNI or BART instead. We waited about 30 minutes in line and another 20 minutes for the food. We ordered both tacos and a burrito. The burrito was really, really good. Their burritos don’t have rice, just meat, and the flavor really shines. The meat has a strong grilled, smoky taste that’s incredibly delicious. Compared to the burrito, the tacos were decent but didn’t stand out as much.
Unfortunately… worth the hype. One of the best burritos I’ve ever had and it starts with the tortilla. So good but so sturdy to hold everything. I wish it was twice the size because I wanted to eat it forever. Wow.
Mission burrito as it should be. Make sure you order your burrito Dorado. This is what makes it toasted on the outside. Yummy! The food is worth the wait. Don’t get scared by the line.
I can’t even begin to describe how amazing the food is. I got the regular carne Asada burrito and oh my it was PACKED with flavor. The cut of meat was a nice and it was so smoky and had the perfect amount of char to it. Staff is very friendly the only thing that could improve was just the wait time. We got sat in under 15 min but once sat we waited about 35-40 min for just two burritos. The food was worth it though will stop by every time I’m in the city.
The hype is justified. The best carne asada super burrito I have ever tasted. Definitely get it toasted. I wish it were spicier, but still. Premium ingredients and cooked perfectly. Strawberry aqua fresca was also very good. At 3pm on Thursday, the wait in line was 16 minutes and 12 minutes to make the food. No issues sitting a solo, if you don't mind sharing a table.
So since I saw Jordan the Stallion Instagram of going here it was a no brainer that I too must have that toasted to perfection burrito. So for over two weeks I kid you not, it was not in the heavens for me to get this delicious food.😋 Well not tonight😜 I finally got it & my mind has been blown away. Special shot out to my guy / fam Steve, thanks so much for getting us a place in line💯😁. I will be coming back every chance I can get the wait is well worth it and honestly I'm going to eat there because now I'm not going to want to wait until I get home also make sure you get there in plenty of time at least 45 minutes to an hour better to have a cushion to guarantee that you will be able to get it.♥️
Came here on a weekend in winter 2025. Line was around the corner. Moves fast. Took us 30-45 mins to get to place order and another 20 to get our food and seats. Order your burrito dorado for sure. Im a purist so don’t like beans or rise. So got just a steak super quesadilla with guacamole. Probably the best in town. Meat tasted of good quality and lean without too much fatty. Def worth a stop if you are in the Mission. Oh prices are very affordable too!
I finally had the chance to taste what is arguably the most famous burrito in all of SF. I went close to noon on weekday, and the queue was about 15 minutes long. The line moves incredibly fast, and before I knew I was already placing my order. I got the burrito they are known for which is their carne asada super burrito. I got it toasted. You place your order at the front, and then you go inside and pay your bill, and then you wait for them to call your number. The inside of the restaurant is packed, and often you will be sharing your table with other Diners, making it a very communal form of dining. My burrito took about 10 minutes to arrive, and it was probably the best burrito I have ever eaten. It wasn’t as hefty as other burritos, given the lack of rice, which gives it volume, but the meat was so tender, the beans were so well seasoned, and the sour cream, and the guac was so creamy. This was such a satisfying burrito and also the perfect portion size for one person. I will definitely be back, but I also want to try some other burritos in the neighbourhood.
I’ve seen all the Instagram videos, heard all the hype, and read all the claims that La Taqueria serves some of the best Mexican food in the country. I finally made the trip, and honestly, I’m glad I did. The food really is as good as everyone says—an easy 10 out of 10. That being said, this place definitely has its cons. You should expect a very long line almost any day of the week. On a lucky day, the wait might be around 20–30 minutes, but it can go much longer. Once you finally reach the front and place your order, you’ll notice the staff is working incredibly fast. They’re not rude at all—they’re just in non-stop hustle mode, so don’t expect a warm chatty environment. After ordering, two new challenges start: finding a seat and waiting for your food. The inside is very small, cramped, and not the most comfortable place to sit. The last time I visited, the food took almost an hour after ordering. It sounds crazy, but the moment the food arrives, everything changes. The burritos here truly are on another level. I recommend ordering Mission Style (no rice), which lets the flavors stand out—the guacamole, the steak, the little green beans, everything. They’re generous with the guac, the meat is amazing, and the flavors are insanely well-balanced. You can also ask for Dorado (toasted). I usually say “Mission Style, Dorado,” and it comes out perfectly crispy all around. Even with the long lines, the tight seating, and the slow wait inside, the food makes up for every single flaw. It really is the best burrito I’ve ever had. I hope one day they expand or speed up the line, but for now, it’s still absolutely worth the hype. This place is magical and a must-try.
Famous burrito spot in Mission district. Long wait but the burrito is excellent. Taste of everything is superb. Really enjoyed the Super because it includes sour cream, cheese and avocado which just elevates the flavor. Vibe is authentic and there's nothing extra. You're just there for the good food! I would recommend a weekday as the line can be quite long and get there early!
The evening at the establishment with colleagues was certainly a success. The environment was lively and enjoyable, creating a great mood for everyone. It was easy to relax and have conversations without feeling overwhelmed by the surroundings. The overall experience provided a wonderful opportunity to unwind and socialize after a long day. Everyone seemed to appreciate the ambiance and the chance to connect outside of work.
I live in San Jose and the carne asada burrito is worth the drive and wait. The line moves faster than you imagine, and the staff is friendly from the ordering to the pickup. A solid vibe on Mission. Tasty sauce and gave us plenty of napkins. The grilled burrito was a nice touch and I gobbled the entire thing! Gracias!
My friends and I have been here a couple of times after seeing a lot of hype about it. I always get the carne asada burrito (make sure to ask for the mission style so u get the tortillas to be crispy) and let me tell you it’s so worth the hype. You don’t get any rice in the burritos, and instead, you get the juiciest pieces of meat and a good portion of it too! From time to time we get the quesadilla and those are super good too. It’s a little more oilier than the burritos since they make the tortillas super crispy but hits the spot. There’s usually a long line but it usually moves quickly.
This place was great. This was the first time me and my wife has been here and we got to tell you this is going to be our new favorite spot when we visit San Francisco. We had the super burrito fried the proportion sizes is not that large but it is worth every bit of the money. There was a pretty big line but trust me don't let that scare you away it goes really fast. The inside is pretty small so it's hard to get a table so we just got to go and ate it at our car.
Hold your horses now; I feel like the amazing super spicy salsa saves the food. The burrito was okay but not for the hype and the tacos surprised me, they were larger than expected. I assumed it was regular tacos until I tried to take a quick bite while driving. Service was good and quick although the line was long. Pictures might be a little deceiving since I took bad ones.
Came here twice, two different times on a weekend. Always a long line. There is a long long wait. Average about an hour long. Easy set up. Pay for what you want and seat where they tell you. No seats if you ask for to go. Remember that! You may sit with others if you are on a long table. There are some big group tables but might have to wait a bit. They do serve beer but no cocktails. Their portions are very generous. Had their regular taco carne asado. Can't image how big the super tacos are?? I love their burritos dorado style. No rice in their burritos so it doesn't make you super full. Love it! Crispy in the outside of the tortillas. Can't really ask to customize anything. Love their green spicy sauce and it's available on the table when you eat. You can buy the bottle as well. Very decent prices. Service is decent. Would come here again but can't come here when I am starving.
Best burrito in SF. The carne asada is tender, smoky, and perfectly marinated. Be sure to add guacamole as it balances out the richness of the beef. There is no salsa bar but every table has a large squeeze bottle of their signature spicy salsa verde. Wash it down with some horchata or an agua Fresca and you’ll walk away feeling satisfied and happy!
La Taqueria is often called the world’s best burrito spot, and after tasting it myself, I can see why it has such a devoted following. Every burrito is packed with fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, and wrapped with care—the flavors hit just the right balance of bold and comforting. I’d give it an 8.5/10—almost perfection. The portions are generous without feeling heavy, and every bite is satisfying. While a few small details kept it from feeling completely elevated, the overall experience is still outstanding and absolutely worth visiting if you’re in San Francisco. For anyone serious about burritos, La Taqueria is a must-stop!
Given the hype I had really high expectations. Waited in line for about 20 min line was around the corner. You order up front then walk in a pay. Seating is tough. You wait in line until a seat come available there are some single tables and then picnic style tables. Not convenient for large parties. Seating is tight. When your order is ready they call it out by number food and drinks come out all at once. Took 15-20 for our order to be called. I didnt care for the chips and salsa. There was no salsa it was chopped onion and tomatoes. I order chicken quesadilla I would rate it 4 stars Carna Burrito 3 stars. Food is good not the best in the world. $80 3 beers, chips and salsa, burrito and chicken quesadilla.
Honestly, I have to say this was a very underwhelming experience overall. The food itself? Absolutely five stars no question. The burrito I had was one of the best I’ve ever eaten in my life. So much flavor, perfectly made, and I loved that there was no rice just pure filling and taste. Truly incredible. But the experience leading up to that was very disappointing. When we first got in line, they told us they were out of steak (which I understand since we got there about an hour and a half before closing). They said they still had carnitas, chicken, and chorizo. By the time we got to the counter, they were out of carnitas too, so I ordered two chicken items (a chicken burrito and a chicken quesadilla) plus one taco with chorizo. The lady confirmed my order and gave me a ticket. Here’s the issue: we then had to wait almost an hour in line before finally getting our food. By the time it was our turn, we were among the last 10 people before closing, and then they suddenly told me they were out of chicken. After waiting that long, and after driving over an hour and a half just to come try this place, that was really frustrating. They offered to cancel the order, but by then I just ended up switching to chorizo, which was good, but not what I originally wanted. So while the food itself is amazing no doubt worth five stars the overall experience was frustrating and left me disappointed. For that reason, I can only give three stars. I really hope I can come back and have a smoother, better experience next time, because the flavor is truly unbeatable.

The Mission's Legendary Burrito: La Taqueria Delivers
San Francisco's food scene is legendary, but few places command the kind of devotion that La Taqueria does, nestled deep in the heart of the Mission District. San Francisco's Tacorea: Where the Wait is Long and the Burritos are Legendary
Alright, let's talk Tacorea. If you've spent any time in San Francisco, you've probably seen the line, or at least heard the buzz. And let me tell you, the hype around this place is absolutely justified. It's the kind of spot that draws you in, makes you wait, and then completely blows your mind with flavor. Seriously, even if you arrive “not starving” as one regular wisely advised, prepare for a significant queue, especially on weekends, with waits often stretching to an hour just to order,
