Opinions de Chloe's Cafe San Francisco
Once upon a time I went here and had the best pecan banana pancakes ever. I have come back in the last couple of years and it’s just as good! This place has a very neighborhoody vibe. Service is great and attentive. This time I had the Spanish omelette and it was tasty. The fruit side is fresh and home fries were cooked perfectly. The people I was with ordered the French toast which looked amazing. Tons of fresh strawberries on top. I had an oat milk latte it hit. Go here please cuz it’s iconic SF.
Chloe’s Café is one of those rare San Francisco treasures that has managed to keep its heart and charm through the decades. I used to live catty-corner from the restaurant, and my weekend ritual was to peek out the window at the line before heading down — because yes, there’s always a line on weekends (and for good reason!). It’s a small, cozy spot with only a handful of tables inside, but after COVID they expanded to outdoor seating, which made it even more inviting. Still, expect a bit of a wait — the food is absolutely worth it. The menu is to die for, but the banana walnut pancakes deserve their own round of applause. Fluffy, perfectly caramelized, and subtly nutty — I’ve never had better pancakes anywhere, period. Add in friendly, efficient service and the charm of being right on the J line at Church and 26th, and it’s easy to see why Chloe’s has been a neighborhood favorite for so many years. If you’re looking for a classic SF breakfast spot with soul, this is it. 🥞☕
What you notice first are the smiles. Everyone - the staff, the customers, their kids and even the pets - is relaxed and friendly. There is always a wait list, but it moves fast. The food... oh boy, it's good. I had a custom-made scramble with avocado and sausage with fruit...so perfectly balanced. My friend raved about her oatmeal pancakes with cinnamon butter. Overall, brunch at Chloe's is a wonderful experience.
Great cafe in an area that looks to have a number of strong options. Came here on a visit to SF. The whole menu looked tasty and went with the bagel sandwich. It was a bit of a wait for a party of 3 so plan ahead to dine in. The take out window is a great touch for to go
San Francisco's brunch at its finest. Located on a wide sleepy road with outdoor dinning, we enjoyed every bite while basking in the warmth of the sun and gentle breeze. Unable to decide what to order, we looked to our dinning neighbors and went with what they had. Needless to say, I was beyond amazed. Our Avocado Jarlsberg Sandwich was flavorful and satisfying. A hefty portion that could feed two, the Jarlsberg cheese took the role of protein, and the creaminess from the avocado made it smooth. The blend of textures worked well, and blew my skepticism out the window. The Cappuccino was delightful. Smooth, aromatic, and just hot enough to drink straight. So good it didn't even need sugar. The frothy milk complemented the bitterness. Their house potatoes were amazing. "The Home Fries" were charred and seasoned right. A crispy exterior with a fluffy inside. The caramelized onions made the difference. We craved a second portion, which was quickly devoured. This was indeed delicious. Last but not least, we tried their seasonal baked goods. My mistake for not remembering its name, but the texture and taste remains vivid. It was similar to a scone with a thick sweet guava jam center. The jam was sweet enough that it paired well with the mildly tasting crumbly exterior. It was pleasant and certainly new. This place has won a spot in my heart for great brunch in San Francisco.
Visiting the area, this was around the corner, what could be more convenient? We found that not only was it proximate, it was excellent. . The sign said to put our name on the list to be seated, but there were several tables available. We had coffee in front of us in no time at an awkward table that faced outside. . We were hungry, which was a good thing because the servings were unexpectedly large. I had the burrito. I'm from Houston, so I've had my fair share of burritos; this was a good one. The side potatoes were beautiful, really, and quite tasty with a little salt. . My wife had the salmon scramble. It was plentiful, with lots of salmon. She thought the capers added too much salt. I think she might be wrong, because it tasted great to me; I'm partial to briney capers. . The service was great and the coffee was good. We'll be back.
Best place for having breakfast! Everything is great! Very beautiful place, feels like home. The chai latte is delicious. They have vegan options, and their bread is amazing. The people are very kind and they smile all the time :)
“The griddle cake is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten” We have been coming to Chloe’s for 8 years and it is perfect every time. They are kind, you feel like family, and the food is phenomenal. Portions are huge, prices are very reasonable. Having eaten our way through this city for over a decade, Chloe’s is hands down our favorite brunch. Always leave full and smiling ❤️
Great place for brunch in San Francisco! It has very limited indoor seating but has outdoor seating as well so would recommend dressing in layers. We ordered Pecan buttermilk pancakes, Florentine scrambled eggs with a side of mixed greens and fried potatoes and Matcha Latte. Everything was very fresh, delicious and the portion size for pretty generous for the price in SF. Quick service and kind servers. Overall we loved it. We went on a weekday but assume that making reservations on weekends would be helpful.
Food portions are huge, well prepared and great tasting, I needed a Togo box for my leftover. Inside is tiny so most likely you will sit outside. They also have a takeout walk-up area on the sidewalk of you want to take it to go.
Great service--with huge smiles and a fun sense of humor. The food is fresh and delicious! The special garden omelet of the day was huge and so amazingly tasty! The fresh fruit bowl was fabulous and the fresh-baked walnut bread with jam was worth every extra calorie and then some!
Had a wonderful Sunday brunch. Service was fast and very friendly. We got the French toast and breakfast burrito and shared a side of potatoes. I will say, I was very shocked a small side plate of potatoes was $7! That seems insane. The rest of the breakfast was appropriately priced.
A quaint little cafe in Noe Valley, this has the vibe of a European cafe. The weather was nice, so we sat outside for breakfast. The pancakes and French toast were both very delicious, but the potato fries was the unexpected star. Definitely recommend coming here.
Wonderful restaurant for a yummy breakfast. Charming place with indoor and outside seating. and usually has a wait but worth it. We drive up from the peninsula to brunch here.

Yummy food, with slightly slow service during weekday brunch. The wait wasn't too long but it was packed. Would absolutely go back. Portions were large.
Updated June 2024 : Haven’t been here for brunch for 3 years. Didn’t know most of the things are changed. Foods are good but very slow, waited at least 20mins. Not really friendly service like before. The severs looked distant. Indoor has only 3 tables because they have a new coffee bar, looks commercial, no more mom and pop atmosphere. A bit disappointed to be honest. (Only 1st photo was before pandemic, others were in 2024) Before Covid : Despite a long wait, overall was good. Good foods, friendly staffs.
Good service, breakfast burrito was really good and then home fries are delicious. Didn’t love the egg salad.
Tiny café on the corner of the street. Menu is small but fair, serves basic American fare with a burrito here or there. Does scrambled eggs, pancakes, so on. I had the basic two stack of pancakes and honestly they were far better than expected. Just the right amount of fluffiness and sweetness. With the added maple syrup they were perfect. Also ordered some sides but they were standard and nothing to write home about. Prices weren't bad and service was kind and quick, inside seating is very sparse but they have plenty of outside tables. I'd definitely come back if I need a quick bite in the area!
The scrambled eggs with cheddar were really good. The cinnamon French toast was good but not great. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. The drinks (we ordered coffees and mimosas) were great. You might need to wait a bit outside as they have lines during brunch time specifically.

Delicious brunch that was unfortunately let down by the slow service. My mom and I arrived around 12:15pm on a Sunday and had about a 15 min wait before being seated inside. We both ordered chai lattes and I ordered a create your own scramble with chicken apple sausage, spinach, and feta with mixed greens and fresh fruit and my mom ordered the breakfast burrito with mixed greens. We had a ridiculously long wait for our drinks. The chai lattes were served after 30 mins in to go cups as we were told they didn't have any clean mugs. A person who came in around the time our drinks were served was also served their food before us. The latte was good and I loved my scramble! The side salads were much larger than I was expecting and the fresh fruit was delicious and probably the best tasting I've had at any SF brunch spot. Unfortunately due to our experience with the slow service, I don't see myself returning.
Very greasy French toast, also comes with a ridiculous amount of strawberries. Service was okay, it would be nice if they had heaters outside.

The most appalling dining experience of my life. From the moment we arrived, it was a masterclass in rudeness and incompetence. The host? Cold and dismissive. The server? Equally unfriendly. And the food? Late beyond belief. We arrived at 11:50 AM, patiently queued for half an hour, and finally sat down at 12:20 PM. We ordered almost immediately — within 3–5 minutes. But while tables around us, who ordered later, were served, ate, paid, and left… we sat there, hungry, waiting, and watching. After checking with our server three times, the host finally came over. Me: “When can we expect our food? People who ordered after us have already eaten and left.” Her: “You ordered for three people, that’s why it’s taking time. Anyway, it’s coming out now.” Me: “Are you doing us a favor by serving food?” Her: Looks me dead in the eye. “YES. Don’t come next time.” That’s right — she actually told us not to come back. And when the food finally arrived at 1:05 PM, the moment was so soured that even the first bite felt like a defeat. This wasn’t just bad service — it was disrespect served on a plate.
