Cigar Bar

There aren't many places where you're able to smoke cigars at in SF, and this place is one of my absolute favorites. They have a courtyard where you're able to smoke, whether you buy from them or bring your own. They have a great drink selection whether you're looking for cocktails, beer, or specific alcohols. And their food is definitely well done - I appreciate the variety and the options to either have a full meal or just get small dishes and apps. They have live music some evenings and so could get crowded in the evenings.

I love that they have orquestra and salsa nights! It is such a great place, and the vibes are immaculate. You can smoke a cigar and listen to the orquestra and have a drink and relax or dance the night away.

Had a great night here on a Saturday for the live music and salsa dancing. I missed the lesson but excited to come back already! Miguel at the bar was great and made some great drinks for my friends and I, excited to return!

I recently visited this place because I like cigar and found it on TikTok but let me tell you that I did not expect for the food to be so good….. Everything was spectacular. The cigar selection is pretty good, I got myself a Liga Privada 9 which is a great smoke, and they’re playing salsa which just added even more to the ambiance. Great place for a dinner date if you’re into cigars. 10/10

I popped in here for the 1st time on an early Wednesday.. The cigar selection and prices are good. I had a delicious cheese burger in the enclosed patio. There were patio heaters and good music. Perfect tor a large party or couples night or after work drinks. There is a large dance floor for late night salsa. I can't recommend the hospitality here enough. Tony was very kind. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and you will too.

Great vibe in San Francisco! Tasty cocktails, delicious food, live music, and an amazing cigar lounge with a wide selection. Definitely a place to come back to!

I just arrived back home from dancing Salsa at the Cigar Bar. I hadn't danced in 5 years. Ava Apple and Redolofo Guzman taught a Salsa lesson at the beginning of the night. The lesson began at 7:30 pm. I used to take Salsa classes from them in Berkeley. It was nice seeing them again. They're fantastic teachers. I love the Cigar Bar. I used to go there all the time. It's still one of my favorite places to go dancing. The people are always friendly and the service is excellent. If you're in San Francisco and looking for a place to dance where the people are friendly I highly recommend checking out the Cigar Bar.👍💃

I recently visited and it was a fantastic experience. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxed evening, and the staff were incredibly knowledgeable about their cigar selection. The drinks were top-notch, especially the smoked Fashioned. Their guacamole and chips was a great choice – the guacamole was fresh and flavorful. Overall, a great spot for a night out!

I wasn't expecting the quality of the food here. Normally I come here for dancing, but the food is very impressive. Will be back. Music on Saturdays is better, in general.

One of my favorite go-to spots in the city. Much more than a typical "cigar bar" that is dark and smokey, this place is open and airy with ample outdoor seating and good airflow for the indoor seating. Nice selection of cigars, solid empanadas, and of course the live salsa music on weekends!

I danced plenty of salsa in a Friday night! I spilled my beer and the bartender was nice enough to get me a new bottle. I would not have anticipated this. Then, upon glancing at the cigar options, a young lady came up to ask me if I needed help and as a movie aficionado she made an excellent suggestion of an AJ Fernandez to go with my 12 yr Diplomatico at the end of the night. This was truly a 10/10 experience and I look forward to being back. Beers are $8-9 Pours and cigars vary. Reasonably priced considering upcharge and city living! 😁

It's a fun and chill place. And if you don't mind a cigar smell a perfect place for a date; tho you still can sit inside and not smell it... It is Thursdays for Bachata, Friday and Saturday salsa. If you go 9 PM, the entry is free. But after is $15.

This.Place has atmosphere in spades... It was quite nice, especially on one of the dance nights. I saw people have plenty of fun. Too bad to be my friend darl. I have baby lungs so sadly. I couldn't enjoy it same as my friend. But it is a nice playes. I can't enjoy it but it wasn't. I seen the actual blike Latin dance night. It was so nice if you can handle the smoke. It's worth it. It's a nice date place to take your nice partner that you've been with for a while.Or one that loves dancing 100% recommended.It would be wonderful to do tax.To first go out to dinner somewhere and then come here and dance.Oh I want the events.Oh yes do it..

Cigar ball & Grill is a place a often go on a weekly basis. They have great bar bites and drinks. They have indoor and outdoor seating with music. They have another indoor area where they usually host bachata dance classes every Thursday at 7pm followed by a social party till 11pm with early bird pass costing only $8usd. Normal walk-in pass is $10usd which is the most affordable dance social in SF by far in 2025 that I've been to. I love their fries 🍟 alot. They do provide free water as well for non-alcoholic drinkers. Great vibes , great music. If you sit outdoor, beware of all the smoking and stuff. So if you dislike the smell and the loud music, you might wanna consider sitting all the way back in, inside the restaurant.

Awesome old Spanish style set up. Huge lounge with a bar and grill and a courtyard. Cigar selection is extremely light, but the food, drinks and atmosphere are really good. It can get pretty busy so service can take time.

I was impressed by how knowledgeable the technicians were. They inspected my roof thoroughly before starting. The repair was completed faster than I expected. I highly recommend their services.

We came here for the paint nite; with Sulli. Great instructor and very patient and skillful as one. Also, Claudio one of the bar and grill's staff was super attentive to us and check in with everyone was doing alright and or if needed any food or drinks. The class will be in a separate ventilated area, away from the smoking areas.

One of two places where you can enjoy a cigar in the People's Republic of San Francisco 😡 It has a medium sized outdoor courtyard with overhead patio heaters. The cigar selection is mediocre so bring your pocket humidor if you're serious about your smokes. Parking is non existent so it's best to rideshare

It was pretty cool place. Even though personally do not like cigars, their outdoor was nicely designed and ventilated and it was cool to hang out there. Their drinks were also good and foods were good. Minus one star for me because I felt like they're old-fashioned really was somewhat watered down...... Or maybe it was just the bourbon they were using was nice strong as I'm used to....

Great place! Good, fast service for cigars and drinks. Lovely patio for smoking your cigars. Nice crowd, too. I have not ordered food here so I cannot speak to that.

This place is for salsa lovers!! Come for the salsa class or just the live music and dancing afterwards!! Chips and salsa, drinks, and service are great. Haven’t tried the food. Cigar smoke smell isn’t too crazy considering, thankfully the smoking area is open air.

4/5 for dancing salsa - has flat floors that are decent for turning, cold water, live music, cozy vibe. $15 cover if you show up after 9pm, they accept apple/google pay and cash Minus one star for the smoke. Your clothes will smell like smoke after. Might want to check the band that’s playing because some bands play 10minute songs 3/5 for food because I waited FIFTY minutes for a salmon risotto that was just okay. The risotto was cold. The salmon was crispy on the outside but dry on the inside. Not worth the wait, you might want to order something else

The place you didn’t know about but should? That’s the Cigar Bar. Even for non-smokers, there are spaces upwind without smoke. A delicious beverage menu with cocktails to suit all tastes (how does a Smooth Passion cocktail with passion fruit sound? Or Pretty in Pink?), a medley of appetizers on offer and DANCING lessons with subsequent dance parties! Even on Sundays! The dance lesson I experienced yesterday night. So fun! @fernando.dances taught a group of us the basic steps of Bachata, a dance I’ve been hearing about forever. It’s like Latino Electric Slide! The steps once learned are easy to do…just wish more men would learn to dance since most women LOVE LOVE dancing. The Cigar Bar offer dance parties & mini lessons in not only Bachata but Salsa too. The cigar lounge is in an open air courtyard. The cigar selection is fairly small but there are plenty of good choices. The chairs in the lounge area are standard restaurant table chairs, so do not expect big comfy chairs like an indoor lounge. This is due to the law that smoking can only be in outdoor spaces. We ordered a few cocktails which were excellent and an appetizer of empanadas which were very yummy. Our service was top notch as well. If you are in San Francisco and want to smoke a cigar, I recommend The Cigar Bar and Grill. One thing to note is that there are only stairs to get into the place. I currently have a broken ankle but made it up and down the stairs. I really wanted a cigar!

Was in town and wanted a nice salsa night out. The live orchestra and DJ music was great. Small dance floor but great atmosphere. My only critique was the bar on the dance floor does not sell water. Instead you are directed to the bar on the other side of the dining area. The bartender there acknowledged our requests for water but then proceeded to serve 2 other customers that requested alcohol after us. It doesn't take long to give you a bottle of water but I guess they make more money from the alcohol. Went back for a lil more dancing instead. At the end of the night, I never got my water, and my husband's jacket was taken right off the coat rack never to be seen again 😔

The atmosphere of Bix is beautiful and very atmospheric. The main dishes were very weak and definitely not worth their prices, service was okay but I had made reservations in advance and my table was not ready for another 15 minutes after my scheduled reservation.

Food and drinks are always good and I love when they play live music. Ambiance is great!! However there is a tall rude bartender (I don’t his name) who is extremely childish and sprayed me with the water dispensers on purpose because I asked if an ID on my phone would work. He said no, and I said it’s okay I won’t drink. He threw a fit telling me I have to leave. He could’ve easily politely said no, as I was about to get my real ID from my purse, but before I could he stomps off to his manager to have him talk to me like I did something bad. That is when he proceeds to aim water towards me as he was making drinks. He then loudly talks about me to his coworkers as if I couldn’t hear him. Mind you this a grown man. Other than that I love this place

Food is horrible. Service is very good. There was a salsa band - I liked the atmosphere.

Very unimpressed with food. Service was absolutely horrible. I sat for over 30 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. And the place was practically empty with two servers. They just absolutely ignored me. I had to grab a waiter and ask for service. He apologized but had an excuse for ignoring me. I also find it odd that it is a cigar bar but you can’t smoke in the bar.

The cocktail was good. The server behaved as if he didn’t want me to be here. I asked to have my cigar clipped he told me the clip was behind the host desk and I’d have to to get it. I asked for torch to light my own cigar he said he didn’t have one. I watched him lend his torch to another table of two women. Since then, I’ve typed this review as he’s been chatting with that table. I’d really like to order more but he’s going on 15 minutes with this other table.

The ambiance was beautiful, the live music was wonderful and the bar staff was great while we waited, but once we got seated the experience went downhill fast. We had a 9:15 PM reservation and were not seated until about 20 minutes later. We were placed upstairs and our waiter was honestly terrible. He kept walking past our table all night without ever checking on us, never asked how our food was, and we had to flag him down for everything: to order, to get fries, and even to get the bill. The bright spot was the appetizers. They were truly delicious. But the entrees were extremely disappointing. Lobster spaghetti The lobster was overcooked and the pasta was way undercooked. Not al dente, not firm, but literally not done. Completely unacceptable for a dish at this price point. Chicken hash It was just okay and nothing memorable. Definitely not something we would order again. We did not finish most of our entrees because they simply were not good. Even when the waiter walked by and saw untouched food, he never asked if anything was wrong. He just collected the plates and dropped the bill. Overall, the vibe and the appetizers were strong, but the service and the entrees fell completely flat. I wanted to love this place, but the dining experience upstairs really missed the mark.

Nice place, smoky 🙂. Music was amazing! Good food but serve expired drink products, no one twice, and still charged for that and we complained. They say sorry, and bring something else but still charged for the sorry too. Don't order anything if you can't check the expiration day. Really disappointed 😞

I only liked coming here for the salsa dancing. Service was slow, they forgot an order, but a very lively place. The smoke was so bad without ventilation (I know it’s a cigar bar).

One of the male bartenders was very very rude at first he told me to grab a couple cigars and I can add it to my drink tab that made perfect sense to me so I gave him my discover card and said DO NOT charge this card I would like to pay in cash, he assured me it’s fine he will check with me at the end to see if I wanted to charge that card or another then the second I go to order my drink he starts to panic and says I need to close out my tab right now and open a new one Which was weird but I said “okay that’s fine here is 40$ cash don’t charge that card” he then takes my cash and charges the card aswell! He then tells me not to worry about it he didn’t charge the card lo and behold I have a credit card statement the next day saying I spent 40$ there! (Which he also refused to give me my change for) whatever I say it was only a few $ and I was gonna leave a tip anyway….. I start a new tab on my wife’s credit card not knowing he charged my other card! We drink for a bit and our total comes out to 100 and something odd dollars I went with my wife and a few close friends one of my friends goes ahead and pays our tab for us and gets my wife’s card back from the bar! Low and behold they were both charged the full amount of the bill! And on top of it all! He wouldn’t elaborate on when last call was we got in at 10 and all he kept saying was “pretty much last call is whenever I want it to be” id avoid at all costs if ur paying with anything other then cash

Very disappointing I found it online and it looks as it shows and was excited to come in but the excitement ended there. I had my own cigars but I still purchased cigars to support the establishment and they still charged me a $15 cover even though I was purchasing cigars and drinks. Staff was not helpful the gentleman I brought cigars from was Nice but not necessarily helpful and I felt extremely awkward Just asking where could I smoke or could I sit. Sadly this place was not welcoming at all. The cigar guy told me that I needed to get my drink from the waitress at the table. It's not easy just to get a drink and a cigar I wanted the scotch and a cigar. After sitting for apx 20 minutes I finally got a waitress to pay attention to me came over and said I needed to go to the bar and get a drink if I wasn't going to order food she was too busy When I got up to leave I told the gentleman that told me a cigar I was disappointed I went out of my way to find this place and walked 20 minutes and I didn't seem like I was welcome he had no response which suggested to me they didn't care or want my business. Considering how I carry myself from the way I dress and spend money It's apparent I would be a good customer but they did not seem to care. Furthermore the crowd in the establishment for a lack of better terms seems very territorial. Now this was just my experience and I'm sure if you're a local or go in there with a group of people You will probably have a good time and enjoy the place. It's just not a place to walk in on your own have a cigar and a scotch and strike up conversation or feel welcome at all It's not your typical cigar community. Keep in mind this is my opinion I'm not saying you shouldn't go here I'm just saying don't go alone or maybe don't have any expectations but maybe give it a try and I hope you're experience is different than mine because I wouldn't want anyone to experience what I experienced they're a cigar establishment and of course I want them to do well which is the only reason I'm leaving this review not to be mean but maybe though actually read it and care and it will encourage more of a welcoming environment when and out of town guest chooses to attend their establishment. Sadly I'm standing out in front writing this review the gentleman I told I was disappointed and the door person I paid $15 to can still see me standing here and yet there is no attempt to turn this around and say Hey come back in let's get you a drink Oh well.

Super disappointed. We called the place on the Christmas day and AI support said it was open. We walked for 30 minutes under rain to find it shut. It’s not that difficult to respect your customers time and make your AI telephone provide correct information.

This is fantastic place ! I've been coming here for two year straight every Friday, Saturday. I even learned salsa here. However there is a huge problem. The person on charge a) has told the coat check girl she can't take a break for pee otherwise her she would be fired as a few people were waiting in line. I've been coming here for a while and yes gets busy. But the manager needs to be understanding. 2) multiple times during band shifts the music sometimes gets lost and nothing gets on, nothing dancible. When I've expressed this before I've been told it's not their problem by the same person, no action. The power fluff power puff power trip this guy has needs to be checked. Checked by a faithful salsa learning customer for 2 years. I'm confident this issue will be resolved.
