One of my most favorite places to get bánh mì! I also love their banana pudding. I always get the special kind bánh mì or the grilled pork etc. Price: top notch Portion: top notch Vietnamese people: top notch, they are my "hood", hahah. I love them. They are no frills. The only thing that's not super top notch is that they only take cash, so be aware of that.

This was easily the best banh mi I've ever had. I got tofu, which was incredible value for just $5.50--my sandwich was overflowing with protein and veggies. The bread was excellent and all of the ingredients tasted very fresh. I will definitely be back!

Not only was my meatball pork sandwich delicious but the lady preparing the sandwich was lightning fast! I swear by the time I received my change the sandwich was done! The sandwich had a nice balance of crunch, sweetness and flavor of the pork. From the reviews I’ve seen I can’t wait to try the combination. The only cons are that it’s cash only and I couldn’t dine inside because the TL’s is not an ideal area to be eating outside if you know what I mean.

Very solid banhmi Got the pork belly one for 7.5 and chicken for 5.5. Tbh the pate and cold cuts outshined the pork belly on that sandwich, but it was delicious. The chicken banhmi was a little dry, has mayo instead of pate. Still delicious. Recommend taking a bit of a detour and stick to major streets to get here. Eddie/Turk is pretty sketchy between here and Market street Cash only There's a Bank of America ATM not too far away

This sandwich place is very unassuming but it is definitely one of the most worthwhile sandwiches that I’ve eaten. It is very cheap at $7 but the taste was exquisite. The pate made everything taste better. It does not feel dry at all unlike the Bahn Mi’s that I’ve had before. Btw, I bought the Pork Belly Pate combo and it was the rightest decision that I’ve made in my life. Also the shop is in the hood but that made the experience more real and authentic. I love this sandwich.

I made the mistake of not checking the time when I arrived, which happens to be 12:30 pm, lunchtime! Although there was a line, I probably waited 15 to 20 minutes to order. Not a bad wait. The line moves fast, and the workers are friendly and fast. I got the tofu and special combinations. They were both delicious. They use Semifreddi bread, which is more dense and filling, but still very good. As everyone else mentioned, cash only. They also don't charge tax but definitely tip them for fast service!

Lived in Vietnam for years. Been visiting San Francisco for a long time. First time here, first time walking through the heart of Tenderloin. You will have to weigh the "risk vs reward" of a very popular banh mi with great service and low prices versus, well, the literal shiyatshow of getting to Saigon Sandwich. As far as quality, I think there's some hyperbole and social media hype driving up how "great" the food is. The sandwich is not amazing, I'd describe it as "really good with a great price.” The bread was not fresh (and I was the first customer at 7am), almost stale, but not quite. Compared to 99% of sandwiches in tourist traps or cities without an Asian community, it is indeed AMAZING! You get a lot of heft/size, but it's nothing like some of the sandwiches in Westminster, CA, or in Vietnam. But why should Saigon Sandwich change?? They obviously sell a ton and the prices will keep them in business until they decide to close shop.

So insanely cheap for bay area standards. This is food with real heart to it too. They didn't need to pack the banh mi with meat, but they did because they enjoy making honest food. Got the new pork belly, steam pork and pate combo and it was a great combination. Not sure what they're using as a sauce, but it's damn good. It's a decent meat. One probably won't completely fill you up, but it'll definitely keep you going with all that protein. Quick service, was in and out within minutes. It's honest and simple food that's very inexpensive. Would definitely recommend!

This spot used to be a favorite of mine, but it lost all credibility today when I waited in line for over 30. Min only to be dogged out time and time again buy online, Uber eats orders. They need to prioritize actual customers coming into the business over greed and servicing these food delivery companies before us in line. I won't be back.
