Amazing! The staff, the ambience, the food! One of the best date spots I've ever been too. If you want a truly intimate and relaxing hot pot spot, THIS IS IT! P.S. The cute panda display was 10/10 🐼

Love this hotpot place! Really great food and soup base. They have a good variety dipping sauce selections and free fruits. Meat and veggies are reasonably priced. Recommend meat combo & shrimp in spicy soup base. Good service and decorations. Will be our go-to dinning places near Westfield shopping center.

Finally, a hotpot place that checks all the boxes. Reasonable prices and top notch quality. The soup bases were delicious with strong flavor (highly recommend the Tom Yum) and every meat & veggie dish was fresh. The service was perfect - they never let us run out of water! Also the place is gorgeous, modern and airy. Officially my new go-to hot pot place!

Looking for a delicious Szechuan hotpot place? Look no further than Hotpot Champ! The broth is flavorful with just the right amount of spice, and the selection of meats, seafood, and vegetables is impressive. The variety of dipping sauces available is a fun part of the experience. Prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Highly recommended!

We ordered the mixed mushroom and spicy soup base (vegan version available even). The lamb and beef quality are awesome with reasonable price. Nice environment! Will definitely come back again.

Contrary to all the negative reviews I had read about this place beforehand, my experience here was amazing! My friends and I came here to celebrate a birthday on a Friday night, not sure if it was a slow night, but the staff were incredibly kind to us. We came about an hour to drop off a surprise birthday cake for our friends, and they helped us with unwrapping the cake, lending a lighter to us to light the candles, and even providing us with their own plates. They were incredibly kind throughout the process as us kids seemed a bit chaotic! Everyone says that their food took an incredibly long time to come, but ours came quite fast. Even if it did come later, they had a cool sauce making bar, that had some snacks like cucumber salad, peanuts, shrimp chips, edamame, and chicken feet that you can help yourself to. As we ate the cake, the staff surprised us with a complimentary panda stuffie from their brand which was so cute. My only concerns were that I wished they would have been less short staffed. We picked the AYCE Hotpot option and getting someone over to our table to order more food took a while as there were only 2 people working. At times it seemed like the sauce bar was not getting regularly refilled as well. The food was delicious, however their menu is quite limited in terms of what you can normally see at other hotpot places. For example, we were looking forward to enoki mushrooms but only a couple other options were offered. Definitely recommend the meat wheels and meat boats as they are aesthetically pleasing and also filled with lots of delicious meat. Overall was a great experience I believe and definitely recommend this place. Judging from what I read in reviews and my own experience, I would say this place is most likely Hit or Miss. Thank you to the wonderful staff for this experience though!

Attention Foodies!! There’s a new hotpot spot in town, not just any hotpot but one with a playful twist-the spinning Ferris wheels. 🙃 No silly, you won't actually be on a Ferris wheel, but your food will be. How cool and fun is that! 😋 Happy Eating! Although this is not an AYCE place, the meats were high quality. @hotpot_champ_sf offers beef, pork, lamb, fish fillets, fishballs, meatballs, and a variety of seafood, vegetables, drinks, and desserts. Gotta love the creative Ferris wheel & the friendly service. This spot is definitely Instagram- and TikTok-worthy! A must-try!

Delicious food (especially the pork belly slices and fish ball) and great service! We were excited to see a local hotpot restaurant as new travelers in San Francisco. The shapes of some plates indicate the meal types, which are cute and creative. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Excellent. Don’t mind the complainers who clearly don’t understand that an authentic hot pot place probably isn’t the best choice for people with a lot of dietary restrictions. This is sensational value and a really delightful experience on the whole. I’m a big eater and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. If legit hot pot is what you love, look no further than this crown jewel in San Francisco’s Chinatown.

A new hot pot spot in a Chinatown with a cool meat Ferris wheel on their menu. Overall a great experience with a wide selection of meat and sauce bar. The inside is clean and modern. Would recommend reserving ahead of time because tables filled up pretty quickly around lunch time. Good pop music playing in the background. Service was friendly and quick. Hot pot base: We got the spicy and mushroom soup base. The mushroom base was my favorite, it had a rich savory flavor. Spicy soup was definitely spicy! Sauce bar: Large variety of sauces. My favorites were the roasted peanuts and sesame sauce. Sliced oranges were also very juicy and fresh. Meat Ferris wheel: On the pricier side at $50. Portions were alright, we managed to finish the whole thing split between three of us with room to spare. Overall, a unique dining experience and the Ferris wheel was cool to see. I really liked the frozen tofu. :)

For good hot pot for when you are cold and feeling hungry, please head on in for some delicious food that will warm your belly. Also I know it's hard but don't order meats like crazy, you have plenty of time to choose from of a selection of different types of meats and veggies. So order slowly, for if you have chosen the hotpot itself you will have 90 minutes to choose which treats will fill your belly. You don't want to be charged for leaving leftovers because you cannot do the doggie bag method with this place, sorry to say. If you're alone order little bits at a time. If you're in a big group, order accordingly to the meat and veggies. I want to make sure I save everyone's wallet to be honest because I am on a budget myself and want to make sure it's fair and sensible. Okay, long story short, eat here for the warmth, the decent price and the good times.

Hot Pot Champ in SF is an absolute win. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is welcoming, clean, and lively—perfect for both group dinners and cozy catch-ups. What initially attracted us was the Ferris wheel presentation with the beef and lamb is suuuupppperr cute! Not only is it fun and eye-catching, but the quality of the meat was outstanding. Fresh, tender, and perfect for hot pot. The broth options are rich and flavorful, I mix the tom yum with my husband’s spicy soup and the ingredients across the board are top-notch. Service was attentive, friendly, and fast without ever feeling rushed. They’re happy to explain options and make recommendations, which makes the experience even better. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and everything just hits. Easily one of the best hot pot spots in San Francisco. This place is now officially in our regular rotation.

Hotpot Champ in San Francisco Chinatown is absolutely amazing! It’s the only authentic hot pot restaurant in the city, and it’s an AYCE (all-you-can-eat) spot with great value. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Food is fresh, the selection is great, and the broths are very authentic. Always a satisfying experience—highly recommend to anyone who loves hot pot!

Oo, I really enjoyed this place. I stopped by one day and saw their late night / midnight deal. Seemed like a great time to try on a Friday night, so we stopped by. Got their tomato and tom yum soup bases. They have a pretty extensive selection of veggies and noodles in the fridge that you can grab on your own. Then on the touch screen, you can order meats, small snacks, and other things. The staff was also incredibly accommodating as a vegetarian, but one thing to note is that when they refill your soup, make sure you let them know to give you the vegetarian version. I’d love to come again.

Came here with a group of 9 and we got seated at two different tables. Each table had one giant pot to split. Good: - You can choose 2 soups that you want - I loved the tomato soup base since it was nice and savory but not too salty - I liked how much variety there was in the AYCE options - the Ferris wheel of course is the most famous thing here - The appetizers were pretty great - there were glass noodles and tons of sauces - The mango coconut dessert was delicious! - Nice and private back area for groups Bad: - Overall more expensive, about $45pp after taxes Overall a really fun group activity!

Cute and nice decoration with panda 🐼 around. Surprisingly hotpot restaurant can be so clean and spacious. Great service, the servers always smile. Food was good, spicy beef was fresh and delicious. And they were served with windmill, golden big and devil ox were a highlight. I ordered a red bean ice drink, but taste wasn’t really good, not enough milk. Overall experience was good. Highly recommend for a group of people to hang out for dinner in downtown.

Food was wonderful, very fresh ingredients. Highly recommend the chicken broth, I could see clearly all the herbs and real big chunks of chicken in it, deep flavors! Tomato broth was just ok, not my favorite. The beef and lamb ferris wheel was very cute, and a good amount of food. Service was a tad slow and inefficient, but understandable that it's the soft opening phase. The location is spacious, clean and modern. Would come back!

LOVED this Hotpot. I've been to quite a few now. This is hands down the best flavored broth I've tasted yet at a Hotpot place. Which flavored your choices with robust taste. The only reason for the 4 stars is that they refill with a different broth than you ordered as you're eating. So you lose that robust flavor you started with. Regardless of that, I'd still recommend this place.

I had this spot on my list of places to check out since I read about its opening in the Chronicle… I love a good hot pot joint and this place is up there for the following reasons: 1. The sauce bar! This place has the best sauce bar that I’ve seen. They don’t skimp whatsoever in terms of variety and quantity. 2. Apps: There’s an interesting selection of appetizers to choose from; anything from peanuts to chicken feet. But the pickles were my jam! 3. Individual pots: This is clutch because you can choose any broth you like without having to compromise. 4. Selection of items to cook was plentiful. The quality is very good, from the veggies to the meat. 5. Service was very friendly and quick! So you might ask, “why 4 stars?”… well, I dinged this spot because of the sticker shock I experienced when I got the check. This place is pricey! For the 3 of us, it was north of $130.00. We didn’t order anything fancy, like Wagyu, so it does add up quickly. Granted, when you read back at my #4, the quality of everything is high. Anyways, I’ll most likely come back again, because good hot pot is had to find!

I went there for brunch with a friend on a Sunday and the place was very empty. We picked the large pot, which allows half and half. The 2 soup bases that we picked were pumpkin broth soup base and Thai hot and sour soup base. Thai hot and sour soup base was really good and pumpkin not so much. In fact, we pretty much didn't use the pumpkin broth soup base at all. We ordered- 1. Beef and lamb combo (large)- this is the item that comes on the wheel display 2. Sichuan pepper beef tongue 3. Scallops 4. Winter Mellon 5. Vermicelli noodles 6. Canadian pork belly 7. Fried soft tofu 8. Brown sugar boba (milk tea) 9. Super fruity green tea The drinks were pretty good. Brown sugar boba was frozen, so I had to let it sit for a bit. It was definitely more food for a group of 2. Canadian pork belly was okay. A few other things about the restaurant- The food comes out on automated electronic carts. You can make your own sauce to go with your food. They also have chicken feet in the self-serve section where you make your sauce. Overall, it was a good dining experience. We forgot to order one of the 2 soup bases by mistake, but the staff was kind enough to let us fix that.

Big portion size and lots of options for vegetarians. It was my first time at a hotpot and the staff were very helpful. Ginger scallion sauce was fresh and added loads of flavor to sides. The ambiance is good and it's a good spot to enjoy a quiet dinner.

Who knew a wheel of meat could be so captivating? This restaurant had us spinning with excitement! From the chic interior design to the friendly service, we were off to a great start. We ordered the broth extra spicy, but it didn't quite have the kick we were expecting. The mushroom broth lacked a bit of oomph too. When we went to explore the sauce stations, we discovered they varied between floors, leaving us feeling a little lost. Luckily, we found the jackpot on the first floor with a plethora of options. Sadly, the second floor didn't have sesame oil. Overall, the price was fair, but we might not be spinning back around anytime soon. However, if you do decide to visit, be sure to order the spicy beef - it was the star dish of the night!

Visiting San Francisco for a short weekend with my son who is a pilot and frequently travels from JFK to SFC. Great place to try many different types of meat and vegetables. We had the Premium package with the #2 spicy Szechwan and the Yuma broth. Both broths were very good. Tried the spicy beef, pork belly, snowflake beef, Lamb and shrimp. Sample tofu, pork dumplings and mushrooms. Very polite and friendly staff. Very good place for a set down enjoyable meal.

We are a group of four and came on a Saturday evening, waiting around 30 minutes to be seated. Soup Base Selection: We opted for the Sichuan Spicy Broth and the Wild Mushroom Soup Base. As a spicy food lover, I appreciated the spicy level--it packed just the right punch for my taste buds. Our friends, however, were sweating buckets throughout the entire meal! If you're up for a fiery adventure, this is the way to go. Meat Quality: Hotpot Champ continued to impress with its high-quality meats. Unlike some other places where meat disintegrates during cooking, these cuts held their integrity. Tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Service: It took a while for our subsequent orders to arrive. Waiting approximately 25-30 minutes for each round tested our hunger levels. Additionally, the dipping sauce station needed to be refilled--we waited for Shacha sauce throughout the meal, but it was never refilled.

Really great service from the staff here but somewhat mixed on the food - the tomato soup base was overwhelming in terms of flavoring and the "premium" fatty beef was lean and had a whiff of lamb - while the cuttlefish balls, pork belly and noodles were very good. Place is a bit warm and then it's hot pot so dress accordingly

My daughter saw someone on tik tok recommended this restaurant, and we decided to try them out. My personal opinion of this place is average, not very impressive. The flavor of the broth wasn't that good, and the meats were tough, too. They are kinda pricey compared to other hot pot restaurants.

3/12/2023 Updated to 4 star rating due to the business is still on soft start stage. 3/11/2023 original review There are definitely great ideas on presentation. The wheel as an example, every innovative and fun to interact with. The taste and freshness of the meat and vegetable is good. However, given the price, there are things missing - the sauce, first of all and foremost, is just bad… need a lot of works. Services is all right but not great, very slow… drink menu looks sad, nothing exciting on it

When we heard about this new hotpot place in the city, we were excited to give it a try. However, our experience was a letdown. Both the food quality and service left much to be desired. Regarding the food, we were disappointed with the freshness of the meat, particularly the beef tripe. We opted for the meat combo in the spinning wheel, which looked impressive on Instagram, but we would suggest ordering individual meat dishes instead. The plates only had 2-3 pieces of meat each, with the spicy beef being the only standout. We chose the spicy/pumpkin combo soup base, but the spicy soup particularly lacked the depth and richness we were hoping for. The initial serving of soup was also meager, and we had to add water after boiling it for just 5 minutes. The sauce station could also use some improvement, as the herbs did not seem fresh. We ended with Bing Fen for dessert, and it was one of the worst we've ever had. The texture was completely off, and the toppings lacked authenticity and key ingredients. On the positive side, the ambience is clean, spacious and modern. Hope the team can work on the quality and flavor of their food!

I really debated wether to give 3 or 4 stars, but the lack of service ultimately ruined much of our experience. We were touring Chinatown and got hungry while nearby. This place had pretty good reviews despite not being open for long, so we decided to try. We walked in to a nearly empty restaurant and were seated right away. We were given menus with no explanation for how hot pot works or how to order. We fumbled our way through ordering, and even when asking questions to the servers didn’t get clear answers on how the system worked or what to order. Our food came out pretty fast, and was delicious. We got a half chicken broth half spicy broth pot. The spicy broth is flavorful but incredibly spicy (despite checking the 1 spice level), and really hard to do, as with all the spices floating around you couldn’t tell where you meat was half the time. The best part of the restaurant is the sauce bar - edamame and oranges to munch on as well as a great selection of sauces. Overall the food was really good, but I would not be returning due to poor service.

I went to this "ayca" hotpot restaurant with 9 other friends. We ordered 17 orders of meat because we only could order every 15 minutes. In the first round, they just brought 3 plates of meat and we were waiting for the other plates, but they never came. Then, when we asked for our food, the waitress who barely could speak english said that no matter how many meat we order, they only can bring 2 or 3 plates of meat. So, what is the point? Also, many times the food that they brought didn't match what we were ordered. We also wanted to order some beers but they said they didn't have any alcohol in stock, but afterwards I saw a table with people who came after us drinking beers. They food quality was okay, not too many options, but the broth was fine.

Had a very disappointing dinner here. Called to make a reservation but they said they were completely full, no problem! We decided to just walk in anyway to see if they had free tables and the restaurant was only about a quarter full. We had 6 people, and they refused to give us a table with a shared pot even though there were so many free tables. Thus we all had to order our own individual pot which unnecessarily increased costs. There were multiple spare tables with single large shared hotpot almost the entire time we dined there, so I really don't see why we were denied this. Furthermore, service was atrocious! Our food took a long time to come. We ordered the 'ferris wheel' meat banquet and that took almost 45 mins to come out. What was worse is that 2 other tables who arrived after we ordered received their ferris wheels way before we even did. In the end, 2 dishes we ordered never turned up but were still on our bill. They did remove them from our bill though when we informed the waiters, so that was good! Overall food quality was decent, but seemed pretty low effort compared to other hotpot places in the Bay. Serving sizes also did not seem worth it for the price. Even the meat banquet mostly contained cheaper cuts/parts and is mostly just innards. The sauce bar was pretty good, and they even had ginger scallion oil, so I was very impressed! tl;dr would not recommend due to average food and extremely atrocious service.

Bro this is the worst hotpot shop that I’ve ever had. First, the meat is really bad. It tasted like some bark of the Oak trees. Secondly, the service is sooooo bad. We had the All you can eat. It takes them 20min to move the raw meat from first floor to second floor. It was 8pm. It takes them 10min and 3 times of reminders to have the menu. Thirdly, the hotpot is turning into a spicy pot. It takes them 20min to get us some new soup. Fourthly, the capacity of all dishes except spinach is sooo small. We ordered 3 times for 4people. Really bad experience in San Francisco. You guys should try some hotpot restaurants in New York and Boston.

I felt like I was begging for food the entire time. It took them 30 mins to bring us our broth and we kept putting in orders for more red meat but it would never come. Unfortunately we were forced to fill up on other items. Unfortunately there are just so many other better hot pot places in the city with better service. I recommend "the pots" in outer sunset.

Sat down and the waiter left the iPad at the table without setting it up and just walked off without telling us how it worked. When she came back she set it up but didn't say anything about how to order or any restrictions. I put the soup base in and hit order thinking I could spend a bit more time looking at other things we wanted to make things a bit faster. It turns out there's a 15 minute lockout period after order submission. The waiter also didn't tell us about the sauce bar or the self serve veggie/noodle/tofu fridge. This place is a scam.

We visited this restaurant on 11/29 at around 9:30 PM for the all-you-can-eat hotpot. While the food quality itself was good, our overall experience was disappointing due to service issues. The wait time for each order was extremely long, and many of the items we received did not match the quantities (received 1/3 what we ordered—as shown in the attached receipt below). Even after spending about 1 hour and 30 minutes dining, we still did not receive sufficient food. Additionally, the service attitude was concerning. Our server showed clear signs of contempt and disrespect throughout the visit. At one point, she placed the ordering tablet onto the counter in a manner that felt unprofessional and rude. Although we appreciated the food, the service experience significantly impacted our visit. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve customer service going forward.

THE RUDEST SERVER I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE! I went with my friends, and we ordered 4 beef dishes, but they only brought 1. Same with the shrimp paste — we ordered 3, but they only brought 1 as well. At first, I thought they didn’t see my orders, so I ordered again — each time, 2 dishes of beef. In the end, we ordered 13 beef dishes and 11 shrimp paste dishes, but we only received 3 dishes of shrimp and beef in 1 hour and 30 minutes. Is that actually AYCE? We had 3 people, and each of us could only eat 1 dish of beef and shrimp? Plus, when we politely asked the server about our food, she got annoyed and took the iPad (which we used for ordering) away. Then she went to the reception table and threw it down angrily! She should be retrained on how to be a proper server. I remember that the server I mentioned was a young Chinese girl.

By far the worst hot pot experience I have ever had. The service was awful right to start after we shuffled to sit upstairs like we were workers going to a breakroom. Then the food made the service not even matter because the meal was so disgusting. We did 2 broths one on each side. The tokatsu and the chicken broth. Tough to say which was worse because neither had any flavor at all. As you cooked your meat in this boiling flavorless broth with the broken heating system that kept turning back on. After the waitress finally checked on us and I asked if we were going to get any seasoning to make it less terrible she showed me a stand in the corner with some spicing. The only vegetable options were mushrooms, and corn to add also. All in all the worst dinner my friend and I even had. I had to put white rice in the pot to pray for some flavor ITS THAT BAD

If you enjoy long wait times, mediocre food, and watching one exhausted waiter try to run an entire restaurant alone, this is the place for you. We waited forever to be seated, then waited again for service, then waited some more for food that honestly wasn’t good. The broth lacked flavor, the ingredients were unimpressive, and nothing came close to being worth the hype or the price. It was painfully obvious they were short staffed, which might explain the chaos, but it doesn’t excuse the experience. Plenty of better hot pot options in San Francisco. This one’s an easy skip.
