Opinions de Los Hermanos San Francisco
This was my favorite go to place 37 years ago when stationed at the Presidio, and every trip back to this beloved city we make Los Hermanos our first stop! We now live in Texas and still, hands down… Los Hermanos Burritos are the best!!!
The food here was delicious and cheap, and the portions were pretty big too! Highly recommended for people who intend to find good food that's reasonably priced! (The shrimp taco was quite big and really tasty, only around $4.00!)
Everyone gets burritos it seems, but their combos are great. The Chile Relleno was tasty, large pepper and plump with cheese. A very good and simple meal with a good enchilada. Nice people. Good value.
The best burritos around! If you want an authentic burrito post Friday night festivities, Los Hermanos has your hangover cure. These burritos will make your day! I always go chorizo and egg breakfast super burrito. It’s big enough you can have for two meals and will keep you full all day long. Don’t forget their spicy sauce!
I have been coming here since 1989. I have ordered the same thing super burrito chicken in the red sauce , with Everything black beans hot sauce. Los Hermanos is one of the few of the old places left in SF before the marina became reinvented after the 1989 earthquake. Oh and the burrito is so stupid good I always seem to finish it in under 12 minutes.
Eat here often when in San Francisco. Owner friendly & great menu choices. We love the big burritos which include chili rellenos, spanish rice, beans and the works rolled into a huge tortilla.
Not much atmosphere but who needs it. Burritos as big as your head and phenomenal. For a night when we couldn't cook, this was quick and satisfying and not crazy expensive.
Very large portions served with friendliness and a big smile. Tasty as well, and very affordable compared to most of the other restaurants in the area. Will definitely come back the next time I’m staying in the city.
Good value. Great burrito. Could have been a bit spicier for my liking but the flavour was excellent. Would highly recommend.
Do you like ACTUAL mexican food? Are you sick and tired of those disgusting steamed tortillas and soggy burritos from other places in the city? Then Los Hermanos is the place for you. Ive lived here almost 10 years and the cooks here have been consistantly been, in my opinion, the BEST mexican joint in the city. Sure it might be a little pricy but thats mainly because its SF and the location is in the Marina so pricy food is to be expected but for the cost you get burritos that will remind you of home. Stop on by and get yourself a good ol fashioned bean and cheese burrito.
Great staff and owners. Very nice people and the kitchen is spotless. Excellent burritos and tacos. On the go or take it home. Big burritos that can feed two
BEST VEGGIE & MEAT BURRITOS EVER!! this place is run by such lovelyyyy mexiacans and the food is insane 🤤😰 the cheese in the burritos was sick ! pls do yourself a favor and go!!
Los Hermanos is definitely my favorite taqueria in the city! I’ve been going here since I was a kid and the food has never disappointed me. The chile relleno burrito is to die for, but everything on the menu is fantastic as well. The staff are super kind too!
By far the best Mexican food I have ever had! The green enchilada chile relleno is excellent, rice and beans so fresh. This is my go-to when I'm really craving authentic Mexican!
Super fresh, super good casual Mexican food. I had an amazing chili relleno that was made from scratch and a very good chicken enchilada. My wife had fish tacos that she loved. Everything was fresh; portions were generous; prices were reasonable. It’s my new go-to Mexican place.
Really good, quick food, at decent prices. I got a burrito and was very happy with the quantity; it was just enough to fill me up. It also tasted great and had some minor, but interesting twists that made it feel just that much better. Overall, great food, and I would not hesitate to come back again!
Highly recommended as the food is pretty darn good, but the workers are awesome. Very friendly, and each order gets a special treatment with options for add-ons, types of beans etc. Just make sure you ask for hot sauce, because it isn’t visible - but it’s pretty darn good. Group orders are also a breeze with these guys, so casual park gatherings are made easy with a pre-order of burritos. They even threw in a large container of chips + salsa.
Hole-in-the-wall style Mexican place with a lot of dishes. The portion sizes are huge here so most people could do sharing a plate. We got the super breakfast burrito and a taco plate. Both tasted exactly how you expect: Mexican comfort food that hits the spot. Will be back.
Los Hermanos has super kind staff, delicious food, and great prices. Their Chile relleno burrito is wonderful. They have vegetarian options which is great so everyone can find something they enjoy! Definitely give this place a try!
I recently dined at Los Hermanos Mexican food restaurant in San Francisco, and it was a fantastic experience! I tried the regular carne asada burrito, and it was packed with flavor—truly one of the best I’ve had. My husband went for the asada burrito supreme, and it was not only delicious but also massive. The salsas were fresh and full of kick, adding the perfect touch to our meals. But what really stood out was the customer service; the staff was incredibly attentive and made us feel right at home. All this, and the prices were just right. Highly recommend Los Hermanos for anyone craving authentic Mexican food!
I love me some moms and pops Mexican food. This place has really good meats and huge bean and cheese burritos. My daughter got the two carnitas tacos and my boys got the burritos. We take the leftovers back to the hotel. I got the chicken nachos with the wife. Fair prices and quick service. Place is really clean too.
We found this place waiting for the muni bus. And it was one of the best mexican restaurants of my life. The super nachos are awesome, home made tortilla chips with plenty of everything on top, don't left the tacos or the burritos as the will make you cry of taste. Also the staff are awesome and really helpful. Also if you only speak spanish it's your lucky day as they are puros mexicanos and you will be at home. Viva México y viva los hermanos.
I have redacted my original review for a 5 star review of Los Hermano's, translation (The Brothers). Today I rolled the dice and returned to the Marina District Chestnut Street taqueria. Speaking from a Latino perspective, If you want to measure Mexican food for freshness, tastes, preparation, and presentation then order a plain burrito with Meat, Rice, and Beans. Being careful not to ruin the meat and other ingredients, I usually order salsa on the side and add for flavor as I eat. Today Friday July 29, 2022, I ordered a regular Chicken Burrito with rice and Black beans. The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and chunky. Yummy. The rice was perfect in orange color and texture. The black beans were also made perfect with a dash of saltness. I enjoyed my Chicken burrito and I will return since the restaurant reorganized the food preparation. 5 stars today.
Best super quesadilla in town. Restaurant quality of food, good alternative to chipotle or even restaurant in terms of food quality. For $13ish you get 4 slices of quesadillas. I get full on third slice. Perfect for lunch. Very clean place with nice atmosphere. We need more places like this. Thank you guys.
Went there on a Friday Afternoon. I got the Two Enchiladas with Rice and Beans. The food was prepared with love. Healthy portions, and friendly customer service. I usually go there three to four times a year. It's very delicious too. Especially their burritos and tacos.
Stopped in for some Carne Asada and was not disappointed. Nice portion, fresh guac, and great rice and beans.
This is my favorite on the whole street. And it the fattest burrito in the West! Good sense of humor, too! If you choose to give a thumbs-up 👍🏽 or not, I hope you found my review helpful!
Woke up really needing a Mexican style breakfast but wasn't sure where to find it. Headed to Chestnut Street thinking I would need to settle for something else but I walked into Los Hermanos and saw exactly what I had in mind, Huevos Rancheros. I liked that I could watch the fellow prepare our food and it definitely gives a sense of quality seeing the ingredients and process. The restaurant is small and perfect for 1-3, maybe 4, persons to eat in, but I imagine many orders will be to-go. I'd say the restarant, while simple in decor, is still cleaner then most burrito establishments. See the picture I added in the photo section. The quality and taste is as good as it looks. We'll be back for sure!

This place is so underrated! BEST tacos I’ve had in a long time. I definitely recommend it. Large selection and simple but delicious.
The most delicious guac I’ve ever had in my entire LIFE! Omg! And the burrito was also delicious.
They were so kind and helpful! The portions were huge and kept us full all day. The food was really fresh and delicious. 10/10 and very affordable! A gem in SF.
This is one of our favorite places to eat in the city. We just love a good Friday night picking up Los Hermanos, and watching a movie. I love the shrimp enchiladas! The team there is so kind. Wonderful service.

there aren't too many options for burritos in the marina/cow hollow. this spot doesn't compare to the mission but its decent for the price and the convenience. The super burritos are pretty stuffed and the service is quick. too bad they are closed on sundays. hangover food :(
Anything can be made vegan, which is nice when I'm in the mood for a warm, tasty, and good priced taco salad. Yum! The employees are super nice and I'm pretty sure it's family owned. Low prices, and tasty food.
Good Food To Go. Friendly Service. Big Burrito.
for the area, good value and plenty of food, pretty tasty too. worked well for kids too, just shared off adult plates.
Needed a quick late-night bite and this was the first place that popped up on Yelp so we tried it. Glad we strolled in bc the food was good, and service was friendly and fast. I got the chicken burrito and at first I was shocked at how much meat there was, but as soon as you get to the middle, there is more rice. The end also had more meat so I think it’s just the distribution of the ingredients is all. Hubby got a shrimp burrito which he said was good, and a super taco. Note: I scooped some of the sour cream and quac from the taco to my burrito. Why not….. Would definitely come back again.
Asked for no tomatoes but they still placed inside burrito. Also a bit too much rice for my liking. No major compelling veggie option and a bit pricier than some of the traditional mission burritos but still yummy

I wish all these Mexican food places would stop catering to white people. While I haven’t visited the mission lately, I miss Mexico so much and continue to try every Mexican spot and continue to be disappointed. I thought Los Hermanos might be different after hearing Spanish speaking folks coming out of there one day. Tonight they offered me hot sauce on a burrito and it had no spice whatsoever. Just made the burrito more wet. I do appreciate that their beans actually have flavor and they aren’t ridiculously overpriced (for SF). What happened to SF Mexican food?!
A little hole in the wall on Chestnut street that serves up authentic burritos like they make in the mission. There's nothing overly special about this except they're not as greasy as those mission ones. But their hours are odd. They can be closed just for the heck of it. I also prefer La Canasta - but if I'm lazy, nearby, or just want a change of pace, I come here. But definitely a good burrito.
The steak looked like seasoned ground beef and they used cheddar cheese for my burrito, cheddar! Other than that it was still tasty and did the job. It's OK for the area.
Even at only one $, my experience was at best 3 stars. Maybe it was because it was an early dinner time (5pm), the meat of the chicken taco and pork enchilada tasted like left very dry leftovers. And I was super hungry, so even mediocre food would have tasted great.

I usually enjoy a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. But this place was not good. Fish was super fishy and way too salty. I almost always finish my food, but I threw this burrito out halfway. Portion size was quite large, but $14.50 seemed like too much for the poor quality. I don't think I'm coming back here. There are better places nearby (at higher and lower prices).
Might be better if I watched them cook my food!! Ordered a burrito and quesadilla and specifically asked for no pico de gallo!! Called in my order and said no pico de gallo an I guess he thought I said pile on the pico de gallo! My quesadilla was completely covered with pico de gallo!! Might have been good but needs a translator to take orders! Also the red sauce tastes like ketchup!! Would not go again
I wanted to like it, we ordered 2 burritos, very friendly and fast service, but the meats were dry and tasted bad. They offered to refund me, but it was too much trouble for me to bring the meals back. So sorry
Don’t recommend I am not a picky person at all I’m never the type to write a review or complain about my food but this was literally the most disgusting “Hispanic” food I’ve ever had in my life. There is no words for me to explain how nasty this was. Not even the rice and beans were decent, I took one bite and threw my food away.
Ordered a beef burrito and they did not add beef.
Agree with the other guy - this place used to be good. Now they just serve disgusting burritos, cold cheddar cheese, flavorless chile verde, busted tomato salsa, mushy rice. First burrito I've ever had to throw away half way through, couldn't take it- and I grew up in the city.
Went here for years and I always thought it was OK to acceptable but stopped in six months ago and had one of the worst burritos I’ve ever had in my life. The guy making it, tall with a mustache, put the tortilla on the grill for about two seconds, flipped it over for about two seconds, then put a handful of cheese on it, added a few beans, rolled it up and handed it to me cold. It was truly disgusting. They had no interest in making a decent burrito or even putting any effort into the work. I swore I would never go back. And six months later, I still have not been back and I’ve held to it. Do not go to this place because you never know what you’re going to get or who’s going make it. The guy who made my burrito so poorly has been there for at least 10 years. ! Crazy.
