Opinions de Miller & Lux San Francisco
We got the tomahawk ribeye and it was excellent. Everything we ordered was very well executed and presented, the Henriot champagne was very smooth and not overly dry. Service was attentive and impeccable. It looks like strawberries in the picture, but they're actually pistachio pastries. It is pricey, but if you're looking for a great dining experience for a special occasion, this is the place.
Very good fine dining spot with a high price tag. Expect to pay anywhere from $500 - $1000 for a good experience for two people minimum. We came for Easter and it was great. My favorite part was the Caesar salad that they make from scratch in the dining room in front of you - it was the best I’ve ever had. They have huge and wonderful steak options that I recommend. Great dessert and appetizers too along with wine menu and bubbles. You get an old money fine dining vibe here with a modern atmosphere which I love. Photos below - the tomahawk was so good that I forgot to get a photo lol
One of the best dining experiences I ever had and everything was top notch. Tyler Florence was there and very active with the patrons. Great service, beautiful bathrooms, great food, and perfect ambiance. Would surely go again. Plus the history of miller and lux cattle company is pretty impressive and intriguing.
My experience at this restaurant was one of the best I’ve ever had! From the moment I arrived, the reception was outstanding, with the staff welcoming warmly and professionally. The service was excellent and fast, with great attention to detail to ensure guests’ comfort. As for cleanliness, there is absolutely nothing to comment on—it was impeccable, reflecting luxury and elegance. And the food? Simply delicious and incredibly tasty! Every dish was expertly prepared with balanced flavors and elegant presentation. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant for anyone looking for a luxurious and exceptional dining experience. It truly combines high-quality food, a wonderful ambiance, and top-notch service. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My husband and daughter came here prior and in the past after an SF Giants game, they had such an amazing time and they met Chris. He invited my husband back for dinner and to bring me his wife. We randomly thought to go and last night was perfect. From valet (Charles) to the hostess who greeted us and to the servers, the staff and more everything and everyone was great. The drinks were delicious and made with Art and effort. The food was immaculate and not too heavy but just enough to fill and flavor your stomach. The dessert was so yummy and delicious. This place is definitely a place l'd come back to every time I am in the city.
We love coming to Miller and Lux for great date nights and special occasions! The speakeasy style space filled with jazz music and fancy detailing make for a fine dining experience that feels fun and comfortable. The staff are always wonderful and attentive, and they have a sommelier that starts the night off with selections from their champagne cart. They always have amazing steak options with excellent add-ons like the mac and cheese, tuna tartare, and surf and turf options. We will definitely continue coming back!
An amazing experience from the valet to the hostess on the way out. Manuel our server was excellent, the sommelier suggested excellent wine pairings and food was spectacular! I had the Lobster risotto, we shared a Caesar and my wife had the burger. Caesar and the risotto were quite memorable. The only misses were the burger was slightly over cooked and the fries were not hot. The was a bit surprising, as the restaurant wasn't busy at that hour. We will return.
We have dined at Miller & Lux three times and each time, it’s been more impressive than the last! We are season ticket holders for the Valkyries and have now enjoyed pre-game meals and drinks at M&L. The service is outstanding (did you know they have a champagne cart??!) and the food and drinks are top notch! It’s been awesome to see Tyler Florence at the restaurant too, greeting diners with a warm smile and handshake, even posing for pics! His commitment to SF is so awesome and much needed! This is absolutely our favorite spot at Thrive City and love their private entrance to Chase Center. Cannot wait until next time! Thank you M&L
Absolutely fantastic dinning experience! The staff worked well as a team. The food was well presented and everything was fabulous. The 52oz wagyu tomahawk was cooked perfect. What’s more impressive is the Dover Sole prepared table side. The expensive flat fish is flown in every two days from Paris. Meeting Tyler Florence is always a great experience. Miller and Lux is hands down the best steakhouse in the Bay Area.
The food and service is an absolutely amazing!! Their appetizer game is top notch Michelin level. The shrimp cocktail, the lobster cocktail, the bread, the deviled eggs, all complex and sophisticated. Yet, somehow our steak was overcooked so it’s a pity that the main course is slightly shy in terms of flavor and texture when comparing with the appetizers. Family friendly. Great ocean view. The service team is amazing.
Dining at Miller & Lux was nothing short of exquisite. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we were in for something extraordinary. The atmosphere exudes sophistication without feeling pretentious—elegant lighting, warm tones, and impeccable attention to detail created a setting that was both luxurious and inviting. The service was flawless - genuinely hospitable, intuitively timed, and remarkably well-versed in the menu. Our server didn’t just take our order - they guided us through a curated culinary journey with passion and precision. And the food? Transcendent. Every bite was a masterclass in flavor and technique. The steak was rich, deeply flavorful, and cooked to absolute perfection - easily one of the best I’ve had anywhere in the world. Each course that followed was layered with complexity yet executed with restraint and balance. The sides, the sauces, even the bread service - every detail felt intentional. The cocktail program deserves special mention as well: refined, inventive, and flawlessly mixed. This wasn’t just dinner - it was an experience. Miller & Lux is a rare gem where ambiance, service, and cuisine align in harmony. Whether you're celebrating a milestone or simply treating yourself, this is the kind of place that reminds you why dining out can be truly magical.

Amazing meal here today. One of the best Lobster Bisque 🦞 we have ever had! First time here and really enjoyed talking to Tyler Florence. We will be back soon for sure.
I’ve been going to Miller & Lux for years now and have always been a big fan. I’ve always really enjoyed my food and the experience but never quite enough to feel as compelled to write 5 stars as I did this time. I had the BEST steak I’ve ever had there this past visit. It was the most perfectly cooked medium rare steak I’ve possibly ever had. It was cooked to perfection and both my partner and mother had the same experience. We also got the dole sole. Every time we’ve gotten that dish it’s come with table side service from Tyler which is a really fun experience. This place truly is exceptional in every way.
The food was delicious. The yellowfin tuna tartar with pear was light and delicious. We had rib eye with a lobster tail addition and a filet mignon, cooked to perfection. Dessert was a chocolate cake and vanilla Gelato. The wait staff was wonderful and attentive. We got to the restaurant early and had a wonderful view over the water.

The food was fantastic however the service was even more top notch. Was very impressed that the staff heard us talking about the wifi and immediately presented and wifi password since there is very little service in the restaurant and my date coat checked her jacket and it magically appeared right at the end of dinner without us even having to ask. They were super attentive and food came out with perfect timing. Also loved that even though we were a party of 2 we got a booth so we could sit next to each other. Also the staff takes amazing photos. This place definitely deserves a Michelin star
Went to this restaurant for my mother’s 60th birthday and we had a fabulous time. The wait staff was out of this world so helpful, so funny, and knowledgeable about the menu. We had a variety of food from the tartar, soups, to salads! I had the burger, and although they didn’t have gluten-free bread, it had a gluten-free onion ring, which was quite delicious. The desserts were incredible. Their pastry chef truly worked hard, and they also gave a nice dessert for my mother for her birthday. The only reason for the low atmosphere is, I did not think it’s the most attractive looking restaurant the food and service made up for it!
I came here to celebrate my lovers’ birthday and we had the creamed kale, beat salad, Australian Wagyu Tomahawk, truffle mac and cheese and the chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream. The food was good, the service however was very good. All the employees were very attentive and our waitress was knowledgeable and did an excellent job. The food lacked a little bit of flavor and I wasn’t impressed but overall great experience.
The food was really delicious, though a bit pricey compared to similar spots when you consider both the food and service. We tried the tomahawk steak—the grill was really nice, but it was too expensive at $250. We also had the seared Pacific steelhead, which was quite small (as attached pictures) and cost $68. Another side dish we tried was the black truffle mac and cheese; it was good, though it didn't have much of a truffle flavor. The wait for the meal was long, but the atmosphere was nice.

This was surprisingly underwhelming. Are they afraid of salt? The burger I kept hearing about was a letdown, the NY steak was good quality but lacked seasoning, and the sauce didn’t do it any favors. The mac and cheese was painfully bland. The Caesar salad and fries were great, and the service was excellent — honestly the highlight. But overall, the food just didn’t live up to the hype.
Overall, the wait staff was very professional and attentive, easily accommodating our party’s needs—though we didn’t have any special requests. We decided to split the $250, 45oz Tomahawk steak among three people, expecting to have plenty of leftovers. However, to our surprise, the portion felt closer to 20oz. While the steak was cooked well, it lacked the depth of flavor we were hoping for. As someone who regularly buys and cooks dry-aged steaks, this just didn’t hit the mark for me. The mac and cheese had a nice, bold flavor, but the noodles were slightly overcooked, which took away from the overall experience. Final Thoughts: Would I go back? Honestly, no. For the price of $500 for 2, it didn’t deliver the value I expected. There are plenty of other spots where you can spend half the amount, get great service, and enjoy food that’s more flavorful and satisfying.
Came here for dinner before a show at the chase arena… very pretty. Everyone greets you and welcomes you in. Staff were very attentive. We ordered some appetizers and the table side Caesar salad which was delicious. My husband ordered the filet and I ordered the chicken dish. His steak came out cold. Ice cold. We sent it back and they brought back a new one pretty quickly which he enjoyed. Our side dishes that we ordered also came out wrong, but again were corrected quickly. At the end of the dinner he ordered a to go chocolate cake to be added to our food that we had packed up to go… when we swung by after the show to pick up our food (which is nice they offered to hold it for us) the chocolate cake was NOT in our to go bag. At that point they had already closed so we didn’t even bother asking about it. Overall the experience was fine, just not Michelin star level which we saw it was on the Michelin guide… eh. lol maybe we will try again?

I made reservations well in advance so we could enjoy dinner before a comedy show at Chase Center. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. When we arrived, there was no host at the door for nearly five minutes. Not a huge issue, but surprising for an upscale restaurant. We were seated upstairs with a nice view and ordered cocktails and appetizers. The appetizers arrived quickly—before our drinks even showed up. It took about 45 minutes to receive our first round of cocktails. I had asked our server to put in a second round while he was “checking” on the first, but he waited until the first set finally arrived before doing so. The appetizers themselves were excellent. The beef tartare on bone marrow was delicious, and while the oysters were just okay this time, I’ve had better here before. The service, however, continued to decline. We had ordered mac and cheese as a side with our main course, but it never arrived at any point during the meal. Our server didn’t mention it, didn’t apologize, and clearly didn’t even remember we ordered it. After more than an hour, we still hadn’t received our second round of cocktails or our mains. Our server told us he was going to personally check on everything. The drinks finally arrived, and when I asked if I had time to step outside for a quick smoke before the food came out, he told me it was already “up” and about to be served. Moments later, I watched him walk past us holding a hamburger and deliver it to another table without saying a word. Then he disappeared for another 15–20 minutes. When my burger finally showed up, it was completely overcooked—well done, even though I ordered it medium-rare. The manager offered to replace it, but after waiting an hour and a half already, I didn’t have time. She ultimately comped the meal, which I appreciated, but the overall experience was still extremely disappointing. To make matters worse, I saw Tyler Florence taking photos with customers and heading out to the same show. As the owner, you’d expect him to ensure the restaurant was running smoothly—especially on a busy event night. My first visit to Miller & Lux was great, and the food is clearly high quality. But this experience really soured things. The explanation given was that a large crowd came in before the show—yet being located in a venue, this restaurant should be prepared for exactly that. Tonight, they weren’t.
