Opinions de Plow San Francisco
Plow If you’re over in the State Streets area of San Francisco and need a late breakfast around 9–10 AM, this is a fantastic place to stop. I recently dropped my wife at the airport and swung by afterward — and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Busy enough on a weekday morning to know the food is great, but still running efficiently. That steady crowd is always a good sign. The food absolutely delivers. Fresh ingredients, generous portions, and everything cooked just right. Their breakfast plates are hearty without feeling heavy, and the flavors are clean and well-balanced. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. What stood out just as much as the food was the service. Even with a full dining room, the team kept things moving with a positive, welcoming energy. It’s the kind of place where the consistency and hospitality make you understand why people show up for a late weekday breakfast. If you’re making an airport run from Santa Rosa like I was, this is a perfect stop on the way back. I’ll definitely be coming here again.
Absolutely obsessed with this place. The atmosphere, the staff, and the food are truly out of this world. There is a reason there is a wait every weekend. The fried egg sandwich is unreal, and the prosciutto and gruyere toast is next level. Every dish feels thoughtful and perfectly executed. You can taste the quality in everything. I have been in four out of the last five days and still cannot get enough. The team is warm, welcoming, and makes you want to keep coming back. Hands down one of the best spots to eat in San Francisco.
Had high hopes and all of them were met. Amazing food. Loved the vibe. we waited for a good 1hr 15mins but the food was well worth it. We got bar seats so I learnt the art of making scrambled eggs from across the aisle. The person who looks after the potatoes tho - that man loves his taters. We tried the Plow, plow potatoes, grilled cheese sandwich, lemon ricotta pancakes and the buttermilk biscuit. My favorites were the Potatoes (6*), the eggs, and the buttermilk biscuit, oh and the house made sauce on the side! - lip smacking.
We went at about noon on a weekday and had only a 10 minute wait. Delicious food! Loved the crispy potatoes and the hit of lemon in the pancakes was great. The grilled cheese was fantastic, along with the huge salad. I'm picky about coffee and their decaf was really good. I was super impressed with the rapid service from everyone. LOVE this place!
We have been trying to come here for years, but we could never stick around for the hour-plus wait typical on weekends. We finally came on a Tuesday at 8 a.m. and were seated immediately. The interior is a well-lit, spacious, modern organic space. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered the buttermilk biscuit and 'The Plow,' which comes with eggs, lemon ricotta pancakes, choice of meat (I had the pork sausage), and their famous Plow potatoes. The potatoes and pancakes were my highlights. The potatoes had the perfect balance of seasoning and crispiness, while the pancakes were fluffy and flavorful. Next time, I'll swap the sausage for bacon and try the French toast, which I hear is incredible.
Usually I don’t have any opinion at all on brunch places because the sameyness of the food and vibes tend to blend in together, but Plow does every element so well that it really left an impression and I cannot wait to go back. Everything was delicious (especially the duck confit), but what really impressed me were the potatoes. Usually brunch potatoes end up being soggy and bland, but these were so, so, crispy. The buttermilk biscuit was soft and had a great flavor. Staff were nice. Love love love.
There was a wait, but it moved quicker since we were able to sit outside. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the start. I ordered the Plow plate, which came highly recommended and absolutely delivered. The lemon ricotta pancakes were hands down the best I’ve ever had. My son had the fried egg sandwich and said it was phenomenal. This place truly lives up to the hype and was well worth the visit. Highly recommend.
When you see the owner working at 7:30AM as the host you know it’s the kind of establishment that puts the highest level of care. It’s just important to give flowers to people who care this much about their business and customers. I’ve been coming here from out of town for the last 4 years and it’s NEVER disappointed. At times, the wait can be long so I’d recommend coming early. The food always tastes fresh and the staff has always been nothing but kind. Excited to keep coming back.
Always love coming to Plow, recently went for my bday brekkie. Ordered the plow which never disappoints and pumpkin pancakes for the table, which was sooo good! My friend also got butter mochi cake which was executed pretty well, love the custard in between the crisp exterior. Put our name down for an hour wait, went to get coffee nearby in the meantime.
Cozy and nicely situated in a bit distant neighborhood, away from the tourist attractions which gives it a home style food spot. We enjoyed great breakfast, especially those distinguished “lemon ricotta pancakes” along with scrambled eggs, and surely, many cups of great Americano coffee. I commend the notable customer attention and prompt service, despite the busy pace and the pretty filled seatings with many customers. In case you arrive late, expect to line in the queue…it worth waiting.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Plow in San Francisco, and it was a delightful experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great brunch spot in the city. The restaurant has a cozy and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk through the door. The setting is vibrant, with warm lighting, rustic wooden tables, and a friendly staff that goes out of their way to make sure you have a memorable visit. I ordered their famous lemon ricotta pancakes, which were perfectly fluffy and delightfully tangy, paired with a side of their crispy potatoes which were seasoned to perfection. The freshness of the ingredients really stood out, making each bite an absolute treat. What I loved most about dining at The Plow was the sense of community and comfort you feel while enjoying your meal. It's clear that the restaurant pays attention to every detail, from the decor to the presentation of the dishes, creating an inviting and enjoyable dining experience. Overall, I would give The Plow a solid 5 out of 5 stars for its warm ambiance, delicious food, and excellent service. It's a must-visit for anyone in San Francisco looking for a top-notch brunch experience.

Great ambiance and service! Lovely food! We had the French toast cooked perfectly and a marvelous prosciutto/Gouda cheese. Definitely the best breakfast we had in the city, worth the stop!
The food was good but nothing amazing. We got the biscuit with honey butter, eggs benedict, and lemon ricotta pancake Plow breakfast. It was all yummy, though the potatoes were underwhelming and the bacon was chewy and underdone. The pancakes are very lemony, so be prepared! The honey butter makes the biscuit- super sweet and warm. I’m glad we tried this place with all the hype surrounding it, but it wasn’t anything crazy. Just good food with a long wait :)
Get ready to wait for a table, especially on a weekend with five ppl. But, nice to catch up on a corner. The brunch was very tasty and the potatoes were scrumptious. Lemon ricotta pancakes were heavenly. Somewhat felt rushed around 150p when the service team started clearing plates and items, grabbing our plates to pack it up. One friend literally had just taken a bite from her plate and service staff grabbed her plate to pack it. It might be best to go earlier in the day than near the end of the day. Worth the wait…
I’ve eaten here twice now and my absolute favorite thing is the biscuit with honey butter. it’s a large buttery, perfectly baked biscuit that comes with a generous side of honey butter. Overall, their food is good, the plow breakfast plate gets a solid 7/10 from me. But for a 90min - 2hr wait, which is common here on the weekend because the space is small, I want a meal that’s unforgettable. People seem to really love this place and I love that for the restaurant! Next time they see me, it’ll be to order that biscuit again.
Plow is one of those San Francisco brunch spots that lives up to the hype—and the line out the door proves it. Even on a Friday morning before 11 a.m., we had to wait about 45 minutes, but once the food hit the table, it all made sense. We ordered “The Plow,” their signature plate with eggs your way, sausage, crispy potatoes, and two pancakes. The potatoes were golden and addictive, the pancakes fluffy and melt-in-your-mouth—easily the stars of the plate. We also tried the albacore tuna sandwich, which was fresh and flavorful. The vibe is bright and cozy, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the service kept things running smoothly despite the crowd. If you go, come hungry, bring patience for the wait, and know that the first bite of those potatoes and pancakes will make it all worthwhile.
tried the chia seed pudding which was amazing and the toppings worked perfectly together, also tried the fried egg sandwich which was good and the potatoes were crispy but a large portion. we split the almond flour pancakes and added the house jam, they were good but probably wouldn’t get again as the consistency was not to our liking. Overall an amazing experience and would definitely come back.
The food was good but we waited for over two hours for our table to be ready. Would recommend if you're looking for brunch in a cute neighborhood but only if you're willing to wait for a while.

I truly cannot understand why this place has such high ratings or why it is so popular. The only item that was even remotely acceptable was the potato dish; everything else was terrible. The pork in the sandwich was at least half fat, with a strong and unpleasant pork odor. The pancakes were overly soggy and mushy, and the orange juice tasted like cheap boxed juice diluted with water. The servers were unfriendly, and despite the long wait just to be seated, it still took another 30–40 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering. We ordered only two main dishes and one juice, did not even have coffee, yet the total came to $78 including tip.
⭐ 1/5 for Service, 4/10 for Food I came in really hoping to enjoy my meal and leave a thoughtful review. I tried to take a simple photo of the restaurant’s atmosphere and general vibe.. nothing unusual, just the same type of pictures already posted on their Google Reviews. The front desk lady was not in the photo, and other customers were taking pictures without any issue. She came over and told me she’d had a bad experience with photos before. Out of respect, I stopped immediately and didn’t take any more pictures inside. What happened afterward was the part that truly upset me. When I stepped outside, she ran after me and demanded to look through my phone, including my camera roll. I felt shocked, uncomfortable, and honestly singled out. Since other people were taking photos freely, I couldn’t help but feel like I was being targeted for some reason, possibly even because I’m Asian. Whatever the reason, no customer should ever be approached like that. The food was okay, maybe a 4/10, but the service completely overshadowed the experience. I left feeling embarrassed, uncomfortable, and disappointed. I wanted to support this restaurant, but after this incident, I won’t be returning. I truly hope management addresses this behavior, because no one should ever have their privacy invaded the way I did. My boyfriend used to be a server at a fine-dining restaurant, he was with me and was shocked by what happened. He was genuinely taken aback and insisted that I write this review. Update: I found the picture of the employee photo from PLOW FACEBOOK account. Pls beware of this employee.
