I have always heard from Friends in coworkers that Popeye's Chicken is really good. I decided on a whim to order some for delivery and I was somewhat pleased. It was a little suspicious that within 2 minutes of me placing my order, it said that it had been picked up and was out for delivery. That leads me to believe that everything I ordered was already pre-made and just sitting there. Evidence of this was in the crispy chicken sandwich I ordered. It was not very crispy and the bun was quite soggy. The flavor was also a little flat. Since the fries were still quite crunchy and well seasoned, I'm pretty sure that meant the sandwich had been sitting around a while. The best thing I ordered was the mac and cheese. It was piping hot, gooey and extremely cheesy. Probably the best mac and cheese I've ever had from a fast food restaurant. Would highly recommend. Considering the size of the meal and the mediocre state it was in, and although it was delivered very quickly, I don't think it was worth the $40 I paid for it. I'm happy I experienced their chicken once, but I don't think I'll order from them again. At least not delivery. I bet it's just fine at the restaurant.

I love the service but the food was not good at this location..worst sandwich I've ever had. They were also closed early on one night by almost 2 hours for some reason 😐 the new signature sauce is also horrible

Not wanting to deal with bones I decided to get the #3 Nuggets 8pc Combo. After 5 pieces in I was wondering why it tasted like I was biting into a ton of flour and little chicken...well...the photo will show the proof. Now I don't mind small pieces of chicken, but I don't expect to taste a ton of flour unless I'm eating bread products...there shouldn't be so much flour around these small pieces of chicken...after removing such a gross amount of breading I could finally taste the chicken seasoning and flavor I was expecting...please change this...

I’ve been waiting for 40 mins because I understand the COVID situation, everyone is busy. But when I FIRST TIME check with her, she said “just wait! If you don’t want to wait just leave, that’s it!” I understand the situation at this moment but I just can’t understand this Incredibly RUDE manner. If this job is making you depress just think of doing some job else makes you happy rather than throwing your own attitude to irrelevant customers.

The food is tasty and the staff is incredibly warm and friendly. However, the manager/owner is quite the penny-pinching woman. My children and I ate in the restaurant and when my son couldn’t finish his meal, I asked for a bag to take his leftovers with us. An employee was about to accommodate when she intervened and asked for $0.25. After spending about $45 USD, there was no consideration on her part whatsoever. I will not be recommending this franchise location to friends and family who plan to visit San Francisco.

Their fried chicken is worse than what you'd find in a gas station or Safeway-- dry, tasteless, and overcooked. They charge you 25 cents for a bag without asking, AND it's a single-use plastic bag (which is against the law in San Francisco). Don't waste your time and money here.

Most expensive Popeyes I have ever been to. Who in their right mind would spend $17 on a 3 piece chicken tender combo? Also cannot order through the app.

Prices at this location are insane - you’re paying more here than you would at fast casual or even sit down restaurants less than a block away. They disable purchases through the app and don’t take coupons too, so you’re paying $20 for a three tender combo. Just go literally anywhere else on the divis strip for better food and an environment that doesn’t feel like you’re about to get ganked.

I like fried chicken, but the prices here are way too high. A 5 tender combo is $24, Insane! I decided on having a bacon and cheese chicken sandwich that was cheaper, $8.14. Not including a drink, sandwich only. The cashier was very low vibration, very monotone, and did not make me feel welcome at all. It was like the presence of a customer was an inconvenience to the establishment. Although the food was good, I don't think if I'll be coming back to Popeyes anytime soon.

I recently ordered a chicken sandwich from Popeyes, and what I received was beyond unacceptable—the sandwich was covered in flies. This wasn’t just a small issue; it was a serious health hazard. I had to throw the entire meal away and spend extra money to replace the food for my family. For a well-known brand like Popeyes, this level of negligence is shocking. Cleanliness and food safety should be a top priority, and this experience shows a complete lack of care. I won’t be ordering from this location again and will be taking my business to another establishment that values customer safety and satisfaction. Absolutely unacceptable.

I had a very disappointing experience at Popeyes that I feel needs to be addressed. I ordered a Classic Sandwich but was mistakenly given a Spicy one. I didn’t notice the error immediately, but after sharing half with my dog and taking a bite myself, I realized it was spicy. When I returned to the store to explain the situation, I was met with an unwelcoming and hostile attitude. The staff had loud music blaring from speakers next to the counter, making it difficult to communicate clearly. I asked them to turn it down so I could explain the situation without being misunderstood, but instead, I was treated as though I was trying to take advantage of the situation. The manager, “Mei Mei,” was particularly rude and insisted that I should have inspected the sandwich before leaving, which feels unreasonable given that I had ordered exactly what I wanted. She also implied that if I had returned the sandwich in full, they could have exchanged it, which raised serious concerns about food safety. The idea that a returned item could be resold is highly unsettling. Ultimately, the manager refused to replace the sandwich and responded with hostility instead of providing a solution. This experience was not only frustrating but also left me questioning the store’s commitment to customer service and food safety. I hope this feedback helps improve future experiences for customers.
