Best chicken sandwich’s in SF. Chicken was juicy snd crispy, coleslaw was not too creamy, just the right amount of crunch and acidity. If you’re looking for Dave’s Hot Chicken in the city, come here you won’t be disappointed. Donuts were solid but go for the chicken sandwich

I don't go into this part of town much for obvious reasons but when I do always stop at The Bird for some of their world famous fried chicken! It was Hacksaw Jack the ex triangle player for the San Francisco Symphony that prompted my visit to Montgomery Street, it seems he's getting booted from his office space to make room for a new In-N-Out that'll be opening in March! Well...I helped him move his equipment, and then we went to The Bird and had an Amazing meal. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

Visited The Bird while in SFO based on the great reviews, and it didn’t disappoint. The place is small and a bit tight on seating, but the food makes up for it. The Naked Bird is a must-try—unique flavor and good portions for the price compared to nearby spots. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in downtown

This place survived COVID and it's not easy to run a restaurant in SF. Why? Food tastes good and the price is reasonable. Try it out and taste it yourself! Ideal for takeout, but they provide wipes as well.

ordered the fried chicken sandwich, all the fixings and spicy. it was delicious and one of the best fried chicken spots in SF. chicken was juicy and filling, the coleslaw and pickles were an excellent and fresh complement with a toasted sandwich bun to boot. would recommend for anyone to swing by and try out. the sandwich was so appetizing i couldn't get a good photo before devouring. the staff was excellent and one gentleman even recommended something from earlier in the day they still had (the apple fritters)! so stop by early if youre lucky enough to try those as well, they're delicious too!

What. A. Fried. Chicken. Sandwich!!! Easily one of the best fried chicken sandwiches in the Bay and I was more than impressed when I stumbled upon this small but mighty establishment. Blink and you miss it and you definitely don’t want to miss it! The spicy fried chicken sandwich is off the charts delicious!! Crispy and juicy large portion of chicken topped with apple slaw (don’t shy away from it, sounds different because it is but it sets the sandwich apart and off!!) I savored every bite and was sad when I finished it! Only thing I would add to it is to make it a little spicier but even then, ridiculous good!! Highly recommend this spot if you’re craving a good chicken sandwich!!

Well dressed and seasoned crispy chicken that overhangs the bun, spicy but not too spicy. Slaw was a fantastic complement with lots of celery and apple. Prices were great and service was quick. Will definitely come back here next time I’m in town.

I’ve been coming here since 2018 and this place has remained the best spicy chicken sandwich in the city, they also bake an excellent wing - serving both the flat and the drumstick together in one. Both the tots and the fries make an excellent side to the chicken. The cole slaw and the pickles were also great. This place really doesn’t have a bad item on the menu.

Welcoming staff, easy ordering process with lots of choice and options to customise menu items. Opted for 2 chicken sandwiches and 2 fries all of which were well presented and tasted great.

If you’re picking up, drive up twin peaks view point and enjoy it with the SF view🌃and perfect weather 🥂 - Ordered Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich(with and without cheese). Both are good, but I loved the one without cheese, it’s spicy, juicy with slaw, more meat less bun, the best kind of sandwich there is! 🤤😮‍💨🔥 - Tater tots are a good side, crispy, a lil crunchy with the hot chicken sandwich. - The mango habenero wings are good and 🔥, perfect for ordering with a group of friends. - Food is ready in like ~10 min. Little hard to find parking, but there’s paid street parking around, hope you get lucky.

The Bird has some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. The coating is crispy without being too heavy, and the chicken itself is tender and flavorful. The sides were just as great, especially the cornbread. Service was quick and friendly. Definitely worth a visit!

Solid place for a bite for about $15 total with chicken sando and tots. Order at Kiosk, very modern energy. The Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich itself is good, not great. To be honest the spicy chicken sandwich is good but not amazing or anything. After reading all the great reviews I was expecting more, such as less salty batter but with better flavors seasoning. However the salad is pretty good, wish there more leafy greens. Good seating area.

I’m from out of town, and this isn’t my first time visiting The Bird. It’s a nice place, and I’ve had good experiences here before, but when it gets busy… that’s another story. Things tend to get shuffled, orders are missed, and food ends up misplaced. As an autistic person, I usually avoid ordering online because I can barely customize my food the way I need to, I order in person instead. Even though I did, my order was missing items this time, and what I did receive didn’t match the pictures or descriptions. It was really upsetting to finally sit down expecting everything to be in the bag, only to realize items were missing. I didn’t feel comfortable checking the bag in the store because the crowd, the noise, and the overall overstimulation made me feel rushed, and since the bag was packed tightly, it was also hard to look through it without causing a scene. Overall, I’m just frustrated. I really want to enjoy this place when we come from out of town, but the experience when it’s busy and paying $50+ and items missing, makes it difficult. I ordered some loaded fries and I kid you not, there is a drop of sour cream.

The chicken for the sandwich had too many tendons in it, made it hard to bite through, and was absolutely buried in a pile of mayo making the breading very soggy. IMO, chicken thighs are really really difficult to use for sandwiches as they can come out tasting undercooked and, well, gross. Had I known they weren't using breast meat I would have just walked out but instead I'm sitting here with a gross sandwich that looks half cooked and I can see every single muscle fiber as it breaks into little strings when you bite into it. I literally wanna barf. I even tried deconstructing it and eating it with a fork and knife to no avail. Won't be going back.
