Opinions de The Mix San Francisco
This year is a 10th anniversary for me to be a guest at this uniquely spirited venue as The Mix is, its name speak for itself, the mix of wonderful united and beautiful people makes its name. Proud to be a part of it. Love you Mix, thank you all for all the drinks, which strong as our spirit, for the moments, which printed in our souls forever.
The bar where everyone knows your name. Friendly staff and clientele. You can go alone or with friends, either way, you're guaranteed to meet new people! Go and enjoy yourself. You are guaranteed a good time here.
Great neighborhood bar in the heart of The Castro with a very relaxed vibe. Friendly bartenders making stiff drinks! Popular open-air patio in the back is a nice surprise. Well behaved dogs are welcomed here and will most likely get a treat from a bartender!
THEY HAVE A PATIO!! Favorite spot in the Castro, hands down. Very friendly vibes unlike some of the other places, and I’ve always felt right at home, even though I don’t drink

A. Great. Bar. I. Visit. In. Francisco, I. Will. Visit. Again. When. I. Go. Back. Too. San. Francisco. NO. 10
This is a favorite amongst so many that dwell within the Castro area. One of the most diverse areas that has no cover charge, amazing affordable drink options and the most understanding and caring staff. Marissa is a wonderful bartender, always paying close attention to detail to reamin relatable to her customers, not to gain more revenue from them, but to actually understand and give back to the community she loves. She is what caused me and my friends to continuously come back each time I came to visit San Francisco :)!
Stopped in after dinner per recommendation from staff at a local restaurant we had dinner at! We are visiting her for less than 10 hours (layover) and The Mix was a perfect combination of GREAT drinks, local bar and great vibes!!! Bartenders were attentive and gave great pours, service was quick and seating was a plus!!!
This has turned into our favorite bar when visiting the city. Good pours and prices are lower then other places generally. Always been a good and fun crowd and good bartenders. Wish we had found this place earlier.
This place has an extraordinarilly welcoming vibe and offers Happy Hours prices from noon to 7pm* M-F and a range of other drink specials. The staff are super-friendly, the music is enjoyable and-- if you want to watch a sports event-- chances are good they'll have it on. * Always best to double check directly with the bar beforehand. Special prices and effective times or days may change (but this place has been very consistent with their specials for many years).

Love, but please clean the bathroom. That was so gross
nice bar, but be AWARE!!! Bartenders WILL attempt to overcharge non-locals, or anyone that's already drunk. I asked for three drinks of whatever the previous customer had ordered - they paid 20 for two drinks, when it was my turn the bartender jacked up the price of three drinks to $47. When confronted and asked how much each drink cost, he looked mad stupid and went back and forth till he claimed it was $12 a drink (not the original $10), and claimed it was a 'typo' finally charging me $33 (Not $36). Unsure If he was nervous caught in his bluff or simply terrible at basic math equations, either way it's a recurring theme as another customer later related of a similar experience. So, in summary, it's a decent set up (music shuts by 1 am) but is accompanied by deceitful staff taking advantage. Shame!

Unfortunately, this business is illegally adding a CREDIT CARD SURCHARGE to your checks. Civil Code section 1748.1 This law is nothing new, and management is responsible for screwing over customers.

Had my phone stolen at this bar apparently others have to. So keep an eye out while here. Spoke to the staff who didn't seem to care at all to except for one girl. I've heard of other places lookin at the cameras to help their customers but I doubt this bar even did when I asked I was told the manager would do so and reach out to me which they never did. Also they NEVER answer the phone when I've called. Keep an eye out here for a skinny white guy with a long nose and slightly curly light brown hair under the age of 30. I was told he is the one who stole my phone and may be a regular here.
Please please tell that one bouncer to STOP playing with the IDs... it is getting old. He holds up the line and drops multiple people's IDs on the floor and makes them pick it up. It is rude and unsanitary. Thanks.
Extremely Disappointing Experience – Unsafe & Unwelcoming Treatment I never imagined I would feel unsafe in a place I consider my own, especially in a neighborhood like the Castro. I went to The Mix with friends last night, excited to enjoy the night out. However, the experience quickly soured when I was treated poorly by the security staff. When I first arrived, I showed my ID as usual, but I stepped outside briefly to get cigarettes. When I came back in, I showed my ID to Michael, the security guard, again. Without warning, Michael grabbed my hand, twisted it, and told me to "stand here until I tell you to go." It hurt, and when I asked them to stop grabbing me in that manner, they responded by yelling at me and saying they wasn’t going to let me in. I calmly requested to speak with a manager, hoping the situation could be resolved. Instead, a woman who I believe was either not the real manager or just a friend of Michael's, began yelling at me too without hearing my side of the story. She dismissed my concerns and sided with the security guard without any understanding of what had just happened. As a 24-year-old gay man, it was incredibly upsetting to be treated this way, especially for simply wearing a traditional outfit. I’ve always felt welcome and safe in the Castro, but last Saturday evening’s experience made me feel the opposite. It's disheartening to be harassed and belittled like that, especially in a community space that should be inclusive and safe. I won’t be returning to The Mix, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously. No one should feel threatened or unwelcome simply for who they are or what they wear.
Used to love this place, but several friends and I have been drugged at this bar, on more than one occasion. Not “oh we just got overserved” but unable to walk or speak after 1.5 drinks less than an hour after arriving. If it happened once it was a coincidence, happening time and time again it’s a pattern and problem with the staff. When any of my friends have brought it to the staff/managers attention they say “what do you want me to do about it?” And continue on with their day. Either it’s acceptable to management that their customers get drugged by their bartenders or customers, or they simply do not care one way or another. There are hundreds of good bars in the city. This is truly the worst. Look up all the others who have experienced the same thing here. Horrible horrible place.
Racist bartender ruined this place for me. Never had an issue with a bartender there until one day this older blonde woman with a beanie was working there. I went in and, after ignoring me for 10 minutes, I finally ordered a drink and she asks for my ID (Ive been coming here for 3+ years) I give it to her and she stares at it for 5 minutes. I get visibly uncomfortable because no one stares at an ID that long. She makes a comment about my appearance that I try to ignore. I ordered a tequila soda with a splash of cranberry when she finally gives me back my ID. She gives me a drink with just soda water and cranberry. I try to be polite and say I don't taste the tequila and she gets irrate and belligerent. I tell her to have a nice day because I'm leaving. She's starts yelling at me that something's wrong with my palate. Then she gets racist and starts asking me if I know what a "palate" is. I calmly tell her that I have multiple degrees and know what a "palate" is and walked out. I'll never go back. She was on something and the racism in her voice was so evil and egregious. I've never had a problem with any bartender there except for old racist blonde lady wearing hat. I'll never go back again. I hope they fire her. The door guy that throws IDs around sucks too.
RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL bouncer. It seems like he loves challenging/arguing with anyone he gets the chance with. Ruins the atmosphere making one feel UNSAFE and driving business away. Could not last more than 15 min in here without hearing him yell/argue with someone new coming in through that door. Do not spend your money here only to get disrespected or yelled at. Save your dignity and chose another bar where you will actually have fun and be treated with respect.
I genuinely love the mix for the light-hearted atmosphere and the wonderful staff, but as of recently, that hasn’t been the case. One of the taller staff members has an insufferable. He does a weird game throwing your ID/Passport/Driver’s license card in the air and very often it lands on the ground. Moreover, he lets people in based on vibes?? Just scan the card, and let people in “bro” (his is also his tag word). He’s obviously having a power trip as his first “real” job and doesn’t know how to behave. All of the other workers are absolutely lovely and I wish everyone interacted with them. In any other case. AVOID. STAY AWAY. If you like your dignity, this is NOT the place
Security was very rude tonight he was getting too aggressive with people. I understand people can be rowdy but he was doing too much with the yelling and aggressive tone. Felt very unsafe not a vibe
As soon as I walked in, there was no warm welcome. Instead, the bartender—a short-haired woman—was busy taking shots with some patrons. My group consisted of four people, including one visiting from out of the country. From the hostility in her voice, it was clear she was either intoxicated or, frankly, racist. We showed our IDs, yet she questioned their legitimacy. One of us had gained some weight since their photo was taken, but that’s hardly unusual. She then denied us entry because one member of our group, who is from Japan, did not have her passport on hand—despite the fact that she had both her valid Japanese driver’s license and a photo of her passport. As we turned to collect our belongings from the table we thought we’d be sitting at, the bartender yelled at us that we couldn’t even be there. My message to Latinos considering this place: don’t. If you’re brown, turn around. Find a bar that actually welcomes you.

They need to replace their front door security. Dude was on his rag yesterday. Got upset when I show him my ID for some odd reason. Also, their bathroom needs a complete renovation. It's horrifying disgusting and probably has every bacteria known/unknown to mankind in it
