Opinions de The Valley Tavern San Francisco
This place is excellent all around! The staff are friendly, the locals are welcoming, the beer is reasonably priced and they have a well stocked bar with plenty of draft/bottled beers, wine and spirits!!
Cozy spot for beer (they have a couple wines available but it's not the kind of place I would order wine). Bartender was friendly. I almost wanted to give 4 stars for lack of food service, but I decided to give 5 because they were cool with us ordering delivery to the pub. Great place for beer, but you have to figure out your own bites!
True locals place with true Irish bartenders. Saw some hilarious bantering with the patrons. It’s BYOF. Lots of people eating 🍕from next door. I’d go a lot if I lived nearby.
The patio here is awesome! Semi private picnic tables on three or four different levels. Feels like a quiet garden but it’s also a sports bar. Lots of TVs inside and outside and a great selection of craft beer. Wish I lived closer!
When I lived in the neighborhood this was the go-to spot. Great cocktails, staff and atmosphere. Even though I liked a very lackluster football team they always put on the game for me. Can't say enough about this place and feel like I'm still looking for the "Valley Tavern" in my new city
Friendly, upbeat, lively, extensive beer menu, & they've teamed up with my favorite pizza joint, Patxi's, so the food will always be good! Tables are petitioned off from each other so I felt completely safe.
Such lovely service. They also have hot toddies and a great patio / smoking area. Comfortable booths as well. The only downside is the music can be quite loud and there are too many televisions. BE HERE
Favorite bar in town. Wonderful and friendly staff. Great cocktails, fabulous beer selection. And a top notch garden for those searching for outdoor accommodations! You can't go wrong here
Awesome drinks and friendly bartenders! They don't serve food but you can order from the place across the street and they will deliver!
Great neighborhood sports bar. No food, but you can bring your own. And huge beer list on tap. Outdoor patio for nice weather, with TVs. One downside: patio closes at 8 given noise restrictions.
Great place to hang out and watch "the game.". Plenty of space, with many individual booths, and outdoor seating options. Lots of beers on tap. Great service. No food...but you can bring pizza (two doors down) or other food with you.
Great local bar! Very friendly and helpful staff. The outside patio is an amazing spot to hang out during the day.
Local dive bar vibes in Noe. Not pretentious, no kids, solid place to get a gin and tonic or a beer.
A neighborhood gem! Local Irish pub/sports bar with large booths for parties, an back patio beer garden and small smoking room in the front. Friendly crowd and wonderful staff that go out of their way to make you feel at home.
This is a great neighborhood bar in Noe with friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks. There is a smoking room available, a back patio and pool tables. It's a fun bar to catch a game or just hangout with friends.
Great place to watch sports... especially I love their back patio
The place for sports, sports, sports! Giants and 49ers fans go here in this awesome nestled location in Noe Valley. They have a patio! Many options on TAP BEERS! It's always been festive each time I'm there. This is where the SF natives and locals hang.
This is a really great pub with amazing staff. Definitely the best staff in all of the Bay Area, and by far the best sports bar in the city. Drinks are also exceptionally priced in this establishment, making it one of the few places you can drop in on multiple times a week. It also makes for one of the best date nights in the city. You can sit at the bar if you want to meet folks and have a lovely conversation, or stow away into one of the massive booths for privacy. It’s also an excellent place to host event. Rent out the back patio, and give the lovely bartenders your card to start a tab. Last but not least, don’t forget the swag. The coolest bar T Shirt in the city, make sure to ask to purchase one before you go.
Great location with a fun and energetic local vibe. Wonderful selection of drinks with a full bar. Tons of restaurants across the street and next door. You can order food to go from one of the local restaurants and take it back to the bar to eat while having your drinks. Very attentive staff that was friendly. Highly recommend!
Lovely bar with a great Bloody Mary! Friendly staff and a really nice back patio :)
Always a fun time! Came here to watch the USA World Cup game and the crowd was rowdy and cups were full of Irish coffee, even though it was 7am
Great place to watch sports in the heart of Noe Valley.

San Francisco is a City with seven hills and many small villages sprinkled among them. The Valley Tavern is this "village's" Most authentic version of what a pub should be. Good food quality booze and people. Greate for watching people and sports. With a large back garden style patio. Side note. I was amused by a local over-served woman who bounced between abrasive and seductive. I left before observing the culmination of her night. Whatever her fate was to be.
Valley tavern is our favorite bar to watch the game! Always friendly service and love that there is indoor and outdoor seating. Emer is the best bartender! 😊
Friendly regular staff and patrons, bring your own food, wonderful back deck. All in all a wonderful local bar
Had a lovely time here with Ricky (sic?), she was so kind, warm, engaging and very witty. Ill be going back for sure. My friend told me about it a while back and after months of hesitation I finally went over. No regrets and excited to get to know the place better! P.s. Ricky, I wont be back for 2 or 3 weeks ;)
All the staff is really friendly, they have a huge patio with different levels with tables and tvs on each side. The inside is really nice aswell with tvs everywhere and great selection of beer and cocktails. They have tacos that come in from next door that are delicious! I recommend the shrimp tacos. Overall a great spot! They do play 🏈 and ⚾️ games!
I love a good Irish / neighborhood bar. It's more upmarket than other Irish bars in SF given the neighborhood. The beers are on point, and the tv's will certainly grab your attention if you come here alone. Friendly bartenders and the place is filled with locals.

I've been here twice. Great atmosphere for everything you want to do. I'm not a big sports fan, while there're a ton of TVs in here I can still fine a corner and chat with my friends. Easy parking around the neighborhood and friendly service. I'm a little confused by the bathroom sign by the bar. It has a man & woman sign on it but the bathroom says men. So I assume ladies can use it as well? I went in and used the toilet, came out looking at a dude peeing in a stall. He didn't seem to care. Cool I guess!
This bar is really fun! The type of place you want to go to with friends to hang out or watch sports. I like that there are multiple levels of seating, which is perfect for watching sports. There is also a really cool patio out in the back with a television. The drinks are good and they have a nice selection of beer and cidars. No food here but they have a menu that you can order from and they'll deliver the food to your table...so that's pretty awesome!
I enjoyed this spot. It was pretty low key in the neighborhood for a Friday night (as well as in the bar), but overall it was a good time and the drinks were great. It’s a shame the patio closes at 9.
Cool bar in Noe Valley. Right in the middle of their market Street. It has both an inside and an outside section that stay mildly busy. They have over 20 beers on tap that range from magners hard cider to a swath of IPAs. It didn't really seem busy the few times I was there, meaning we had no trouble getting a seat where ever we wanted really.
Cute outdoor patio space with heat lamps and TVs. A big selection of beer. Outdoor food allowed. A fun spot to hang out with friends
Good spot to walk to/from the Dubliner for a slight (and I mean slight) change of pace. Same smoker's lounge, same set-up, similar feel overall. That's a good thing - both places are solid bars and good to have within a short walk.
Checked out Valley Tavern for the first time for the USA - BEL World Cup match. I was looking for a low-key neighborhood spot with a large draught beer selection--VT fit the bill perfectly! The bartenders were very nice despite the crowd, and the owner (I think) produced a stool from somewhere when he saw me standing alone waiting for a friend. They have a smoke room off the front and a small patio in the back that has a TV if you need fresh air and sports at the same time. Their food comes from Le Zinc across the street, and somehow the fries are still amazing and crispy after being transported in the take away box. You can also order in Paxti's! Looking forward to my next visit.
Got a great parking spot across the street in front of Now Valley Bakery, which is not always the case on 24th Street. We were meeting friends there in the back outdoor area. TVs at every booth and you just ask the server to change the channel - we wanted to see the Giants. Midday beers on St Patrick’s Day weekend and it was lovely out. Lots of locals go there, so we saw a few friends. Service was great and I was introduced to the Black Velvet: Prosecco and Guinness! Sounds kind of awful but it was great. Our server was Shanna and she’s so much fun and works hard. Took great care of us!

Nice place to get drinks. Came here two hours before closing. Bartender was nice. Bathrooms were a little messy, but I'll let it slide since it was near closing time. Got parking right out in front. But it was also ear closing time. Patrons at the time seemed like regulars. Lots of booths to sit in. Lots of televisions. Probably for sports games and the like. Beer/drink menu came physical or via QR code.
It's a sports bar. Athletic contests on national sports channels or local broadcast were on. The atmosphere included subdued lighting, tables to sit at, some standing room, and the bar. I had some 805 on tap. It was served capably by a bartender who didn't keep me waiting too long. I can't speak for anyone else there. I didn't order food. I was in a bit of an introspective mood and was just talking to myself. I don't like thinking I've read your privileged communications while I'm thinking. I don't live YOUR life. If my life is not mine to live, am I a zombie?

Lots of space & seating; you should go here if you want the worst Guinness pour of your life
A nice bar, but whoa $14 for a small glass of Pinot Noir. To make matters worse the $14 a glass wine was so bad. Certainly not high quality wine.
Good atmosphere but beer has been flat the last few times
Service is hit or miss. Beers are divine, mixed drinks not so much. The Paloma isn’t real grapefruit juice (how is it a Paloma then?) and we paid $50 for two double Bloody Mary’s. Will definitely give it a miss next time.
This was my favorite neighborhood bar until I was charged 12$ for a glass of rose that usually cost 8$. No need to do this, I tip very well.

The owner waited on us and was absolutely awful. I can't imagine how she trains her staff. The cocktails are super expensive, but super yummy. HOWEVER, I won't be giving this establishment another dollar because of the owner's awful anti-woman attitude.
My partner and I tried to go there with our dog to watch the ucl final this past weekend. Place opened at 12pm. We got there at 12:05pm and it was already full in the backyard. No problem, good for them. But the waitress was super rude to us. Basically kicked us out without even offering us the outdoor seatings. Truth be told, place was definitely understaffed and she was trying to juggle many tables on her own. Anyway, not my problem and had a terrible experience.
We came in on a Tuesday afternoon and the bartender was rude. She had a tone like she did not want us there. It was uncomfortable and I do not plan on coming again. Also, the Guinness was very flat and sour. It was definitely not poured correctly and has probably been sitting in the keg for a while. Can’t bring pets inside.
fine, never busy, no frills. not super clean - average kind pub. sadly, the bleach blonde women bartender was so rude to us like we could read her mind or something?! she is new i think.
