Opinions de The Vault Steakhouse San Francisco
Was pleasantly surprised at the Steak and sides. Appetizers were great too! Highly recommend.
I came here to celebrate passing all 4 of my investment exams, and it was the perfect choice! The host and our waiter provided excellent service, and the live piano music set the perfect atmosphere. Every dish we ordered was delicious, but the A5 Wagyu ribeye truly stood out! Overall, the experience was fantastic. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!
Fantastic steakhouse with great food and wines! They have good selection of cocktails and bourbon 🥃 too! I had waygu steak and it was absolutely delicious! Great collection of wines and champagne! Overall great place for date or business dinners!
This dinner was a present due to my having terminal cancer. It was absolutely the BEST meal I've ever had, in my life. I have tried 5 different Michelin Restaurants, and as many Bib Gourmand. This meal was absolute perfection. We each had an A5 Wagyu. One was a Filet, and the other was a Rib Eye..I was blown away. We did the table side Caesar salad with Pecorino Cheese. Three sides, Mushroom Au Grautin and Potato Puree. Their mocktails did not disappoint either. Oliver was our server and he was outstanding. Definitely a place I'd go to again.
Amazing Christmas Eve dinner. Live piano, great food, steak was perfect.. appetizers perfect. great wine , great cocktails (especially the mezcal one). Nick was our perfect server and was super professional and courteous throughout even with 5 kids running around at times.. Thankyou Saint Nick!
My boyfriend and I came all the way from Philly just to try The Vault and we were left absolutely speechless. From the moment we walked in everyone was so kind and welcoming- it truly set the tone for an unforgettable experience. The service was impeccable, especially because of our amazing server Nathan who went above and beyond. And as for the food, everything was SO delicious and every bite was better than the last. I’d take another trip from Philly just for this❤️
If you are looking for a good place for date night or even a business dinner, The Vault is a good option. It's a steakhouse located in the BofA Building on California Street. The bar area has a live piano player, the restaurant area is intimate and, something I like, not super noisy. The service is amazing and the wine list impressive. We were a party of 5 and we shared two dips, the artichoke and onion options. One of our party went with the tableside ceasar salad to go with her steak (sorry no picture) and the table shared the creamed spinach and pureed potatoes. I went light with a yummy lobster bisque and prawn Cocktail. The menu isn't huge, which actually makes it easier to choose! Everything was delicious. Definitely recommend

Great place for late night happy hour on a Friday and wine specials on a Saturday. Only used the bar area but the service is always super friendly and the piano player - if you happen to catch him - really adds to the ambiance. Never overly busy on the times we’ve been there. We had an incredible experience multiple times at The Vault. We reserved the private room which was perfect since we used the TV to show a presentation. Everyone loved the appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts. They enjoyed choosing their steak knife. The mashed potatoes in particular were a favorite. Communicating with Tai, the coordinator of events, and the General manager, David, could not have been better. Both of them were friendly, communicative, and helpful! I’d highly recommend this place.
I recently hosted my milestone birthday dinner at The Vault Steakhouse, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. Tai made planning effortless with quick replies and great attention to detail. We had a group of 15 in the private dining room, which was elegant and comfortable — perfect for celebrating. The service was exceptional all evening, with a friendly team that made everyone feel taken care of. The food was outstanding! My prime rib was perfectly cooked, the cocktails were delicious, and the side dishes — broccoli, mac and cheese, and fries — were a huge hit with everyone. Everything about the night was flawless, and I’m so grateful to the team for helping make my birthday truly memorable. I’ll definitely be coming back!
01/08/26-Last night in SF. Moving to Burlingame. We love this place! Chris was fantastic! Thank you for having the whole branzino. It is delicious. And thank you, John, for your thoughtful hosting. Love: The food. The staff. The vibe. Love this place! It's classy. Last night, the place was hopping! Many tables having holiday get-togethers or just enjoying the great food (us). Titus threw together a delicious caesar salad perfectly tossed table side. Lorelei was our server again. She is professional and warm at the same time. The food (NY steak and scallops) did not disappoint. Their French fries are the best! Substantial in size with a crispy outside. You can taste the potato! From the beginning to the end (a beautiful and seasonal pavlova), it was a lovely meal, as always.

Great place to relax and enjoy some time with friends and colleagues. Super selection of excellent meat. My only criticism is that the artichoke dip needed more seasoning (very minor). Service was wonderful and we enjoyed both the Garden as well as the Vault! Highly recommended.
Food was pretty good. We got the ribeye and filet, both with chimichurri sauce. The filet definitely could have been plated better, as the plate it was served on was much too big for the steak itself. We also got the Brussel sprouts, which were a good blend of sweet and salty. For dessert, we got the pumpkin pavlova, which was just ok. The ambience was nice for conversations, and there was a live piano player for part of our meal.
Went for SF Restaurant Week with a friend. $75 for the course which came with your choice between lobster bisque or caesar salad, an entree (we both chose the sirloin) which came with the potato puree and creamed spinach, and a choice of dessert (chocolate or a pana cotta). Everything was pretty good. Of the choices, the lobster bisque and the chocolate dessert were nuch better than the other options. The panna cotta texture was way too thick and jello-y. The sirloin for me was a little too salty. For drinks, we got the snake in the grass and the carribbean sunrise(?). Both drinks were good. Service was great. Loved that we got to pick a steak knife that spoke to us. The ambiance was fancy. Also loved the pianist playing tonight.
I love the Vault! I love the outdoor garden and the steakhouse. The NYE prix fixe meal was good. The service was exceptional. My only complaint is that we were served an entree that was to be shared but we were not given serving plates. We were hungry so we ate and I joked with the waiter that I enjoyed being primitive. Also I ordered a port wine for dessert and it was forgotten about. I mainly go to the vault for amazing ambiance and great cocktails and I'm excited to visit again.

Decent food but the service was lacking. The bar tender was more of a help than our server. In fact I give him the best compliment for handling the slack made by his coworker. Overall fits was good and the atmosphere was nice as well. But for the price.... the service was far from what I expected.
Cool spot underneath the Microsoft building. Looks great for drinks after work in the Financial District. If I went back, that’d be why. Went for dinner last night, service was fair to poor. Portions were small. Steaks were good but nothing crazy. Lobster bisque was bland. French onion soup was just ok - they served it with melted cheese running onto a cloth napkin, which was weird. Caesar salad was good enough but small for 3 of us who ordered it - it came combined on one small plate. Nice salad though. They didn’t refill drinks, didn’t bring us silverware. No extra plates even after asking. Forgot a Tajín rim on a drink (which was otherwise good). Long waits in between check-ins, snobby & annoyed sort of vibe with the requisite neglect I suppose comes with that. For the price in SF you can do way better, maybe twice over. Wouldn’t go back to this one unless in a serious reservation pinch and everything was booked. Sort of a shrug on this one.
The Wagyu and Caviar were wonderful, but the lobster was a slight let down with it being a little cold. Service was excellent and attentive to every need. The overall atmosphere had a perfect balance of lighting and music.

I didn’t feel the ribeye for $75 was worth it at all. The lobster bisque was so so. The waitress was definitely not a good fit with her obvious political views plus I didn’t realize the location was inside an office building so not the SF vibe I was looking for. I wouldn’t recommend considering there are so many other options in the city. We had 1 drink each split the ribeye split the soup no desert no appetizers and still $180. Wild times.

For the amount of money being spent you'd think the staff would be more professional and the flavors would be more developed. They're using high quality ingredients but charging you way more compared to the amount of working put into each dish. Honestly you're better off eating at any Michelin started restaurant that focuses on steak for these prices!

They have a 3.9 rating on yelp that should answer all your questions. It took them over an hour to bring us our food. Two of the three steaks we ordered last night were terrible. They were tough and chewy. Had to send them back and told them to just take them off the bill. The lobster bisque was terrible. The half lobster add-on was tough and chewy. The risotto was bland. The mushrooms gratin was bland. Overall not a very good experience for an expensive restaurant.
