Opinions de The Village San Francisco
A great spot for all day breakfast and easy to find a table on a Saturday lunchtime. I had eggs benedict, coffee and a chocolate milkshake and all were delicious. The kind lady serving us seemed to be the only front of house staff so that's my only slight criticism - they could do with one person more to ensure folks are served a bit more quickly when it's full.
This place is fantastic. A delicious breakfast spot run by a very welcoming staff. I tried their bacon pancake tacos with eggs and cheddar with a side of potatoes, and man was I happy with my choice. Everything was cooked fresh to order and was served hot. I'll definitely go back when in the area
The village is a little gem in Nob Hill! A curated, black woman owned, business where the food is excellent and the service is fast and on point. Everything, from the coffee mugs to the menus, makes you feel like you’re right at home. And the pancake tacos? To die for! If you haven’t been here you’re missing out!
It is what it says it is, an easy going diner with that a good casual vibe and great attention/service by the staff... We had the benedicts, the scrambled with bacon and pancakes, coffee and orange juice, and everything was on point. Definitely worthy of its price... and Erick was super kind with us at all times, thanks again!!
Cozy little Diner in Nob Hill with a great atmosphere and delicious food. Also love the eclectic collection of coffee mugs for patrons to use. Food was served quickly and was very high quality, and the staff were super friendly. I’m out here for work so will make this a regular spot for however long I am out here.
A quaint, little breakfast spot on Polk Street. The walls are decorated with pictures from the early and mid 1900s and classical music on their radio. The breakfast fare is pretty standard here except for their Pancake Tacos which were excellent. There are 4-5 different ones and you can choose 3 to try out together. The staff were also incredibly friendly. Super glad that I gave this place a try.
I got the high protein breakfast and it was a little disappointing because it was watery and without much flavor. However what redeemed this place was that sf omelet was very delicious (I had some of a friend’s), the potatoes were very tasty and crunchy and well seasoned. I will have to try it again and maybe update my review later. What’s so great about this place is that Edward, the owner, was so attentive and you can tell he really cares about your experience. He noticed that I didn’t really eat much of the protein breakfast and offered to get me something else instead. Also he realized that we were new to the area and made us breakfast tacos for us to try. The breakfast taco is basically Nutella banana strawberry and whipped cream with a pancake. It was absolutely genius! The thickness of the pancake makes it much better than a crepe in my opinion. Highly recommend.
One of the best breakfasts of our lives after a long night at outside lands. Service was the most outstanding I’ve had for a long time. Lisa is absolutely incredible and we will both be thinking of the experience for a long time. Poached eggs were absolutely perfect like clouds full of gold, potatoes unmatched, fresh fruit, and rejuvenating coffee. Pancake taco with Nutella, strawberry, banana and whipped cream was the perfect sweet after a delicious hardy meal. I’ll visit here every time I come back to the city.
The pancake tacos were SO good!! First time in San Fran and what a great spot to go to, great food great atmosphere and the workers were so nice!
Super charming little place. The two waiters were so very nice. The food was great. My husband got the California burger, and it was very big and delicious. I had the BLT, which was also very good. If I lived here I would definitely eat here often.
The Village is a charming spot that offers a delightful dining experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, creating a cozy ambiance that makes you feel right at home. The menu features a variety of delicious options, with a focus on quality ingredients and generous portions. The food is consistently excellent, whether you're in the mood for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The service is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who ensure you have a great experience. Whether you're dining in, taking out, or ordering for delivery, The Village is a must-visit for anyone looking for a satisfying and enjoyable meal.
Eric was so friendly and the meals we had were fantastic! Definitely recommend the pancake tacos, black bean taco and clam chowder! Not only the pancake tacos were creative and tasty, but the other two menus really showcased the chef's thoughtfulness and skills! Thank you for everything! We will definitely come back 😚✨
Super friendly staff, jazzy music (so nice in the morning), oh so tasty pancake tacos! Which, are actually fluffy pancakes stuffed with deliciousness. We got the Sweet, Irish, and savory. An unexpected hearty delight.
Amazing customer service, creative menu and very good food. I’m from out of state so highly recommend for anybody who loves to support local small business. Food came out quick even tho the restaurant is busy.
Stopped in for breakfast at The Village and walked away very satisfied. Classic American diner fare, done right. I ordered the standard breakfast plate — two eggs over easy, seasoned home fries, crispy bacon, and toast with a pat of butter. Everything was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were golden and well-seasoned, and the bacon had just the right amount of crunch without being overdone. The eggs were spot-on, and the toast was warm and generously buttered. We also tried their specialty pancake taco. It came topped with fresh strawberries, whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, and powdered sugar. Sweet, rich, and indulgent without being over the top. Presentation was playful, served in a metal taco holder, and it actually worked really well for keeping it all together. The service was friendly, the portions generous, and the quality solid. If you’re looking for a hearty, well-executed breakfast in a cozy spot, The Village delivers.
A great place for breakfast! Everyone is bragging about the pancake tacos (which are delicious and fun), but I couldn’t be happier with my choice, The Village Scramble. Deliciously cooked onions, spinach, mushrooms and eggs! The potatoes were perfectly crispy. I would recommend offering sourdough toast. Spendy, but no regrets. Cute building and atmosphere- just cold with the door open!
Very chill atmosphere and our waiter could not have been more kind. The food was so incredible from the pancake tacos to how the eggs were cooked definitely worth checking out :))
5 Stars I stopped by The Village Diner and had the pancake tacos with a cup of coffee—absolutely delicious! The pancakes were light and fluffy, with just the right balance of sweet and savory in the filling. The coffee was hot and smooth, a perfect match. The place was clean, especially the bathrooms, which is always a good sign. The staff were super friendly and welcoming—great service all around. Definitely a spot I’d come back to!
Great environment. Awesome vibe. Friendly owners. And most of all PHENOMENAL PANCAKE TACOS Not exaggerating at all when I say this is hands down the best pancakes I’ve ever had. Chewy and flavorful, with fillings that complete the dish but not overpowering the pancake itself. Please come here, I promise they didn’t pay me to say this.
Bruh their pancakes tacos are fire on God, im boutta open my own place serving them, they be bussin. Definitely gotta recommend the california pancake taco that cuz be so fresh tasting!
What an AMAZING gem of a place. Eric, who served us behind the bar, REALLY set our experience and exceeded our expectations. He was so warm and friendly and kind to us. We're unfortunately here due to a medical family emergency and needed a small break from the hospital walls. The natural lighting, open front, and brick wall sets such a great mood and vib. We have fresh ice cold water at the table. Hot fresh coffee with cream and sugar. We opted to try the breakfast pancake tacos (mix and match three for $20). I got one savory one, sweet and one S'mores. I wanted something sweet but also wanted eggs, so win-win. They were SSOOO good. The bacon was crispy (and I LOVE crispy bacon. Don't give me that floppy stuff). The eggs were fluffy and cheese so flavorful. The sweet marshmallows and chocolate on my sweet tacos really hit the spot for me. I will be telling everyone about this place. I don't know how it's not packed in here. Cannot wait to come back and visit with Eric again.
Ordered the Sweet pancake taco and the Savory pancake taco. Both were absolutely delicious! The sweet pancake taco was AMAZING! I wish I ordered 3 of them! The balance of Nutella to fruit was spot on. Even my mom liked it, and she’s not a fan of Nutella!
So good!! I got the pancake tacos (sweet, Irish, and savory) and they were so good. The pancakes themselves were fluffy and the toppings were perfectly balanced. The bacon and corned beef was nice and crispy. I love that they serve coffee in thrifted mugs and that they have kids artwork hung up, it has such a nice and cozy atmosphere. I was honestly surprised it wasn’t packed but if you’re around I would definitely recommend!
Delicious breakfast pancake tacos I had the sweet and husband had the savory. They did not include the cheese as he requested. You can get one or a rack of three. The bacon was a little bit overcooked, but otherwise everything was good. We had coffee to drink.
Visiting here from Denver, and just happened to find this spot by searching breakfast places near our hotel, and omg!! For starters, our server Eric was absolutely incredible, from his warm demeanor the moment we walked in, to his excellent service and gentle nature: not pushy but very responsive! And then the food was incredible! I’m a bit of a snob and those breakfast tacos were like medicine: had the sweet, savory, and California/Mexican ones, and they are each culinary masterpieces in their own right. The mimosas contained fresh/delicious orange juice and the waffle's were heavenly, especially with the fresh berries and whipped cream. Definitely coming here again, maybe even every day we are here. There’s so much potential deliciousness I want to try. Do yourself a favor and try this place out! I like Never write reviews but just had to for this.
Linda the owner very nice. I had eggs and bacon and tried the Mexican pancake taco and it was delicious. I didn't think guacamole and pancakes will go together, but it was absolutely delicious. Linda makes you feel at home
Finally! Something different and new! The village is such a vibe!! A little escape from the city. ❤️ I love this place! The food from Karibu East Africa was so exotic and delicious at the same time. Granted, this is my first time having East African Food and it did not disappoint, it was such an FUN experiment! OMG! The Mishkakis (beef skewers) were my favorite! So tender and juicy, while the samosa was so crispy + tasty- perfect with the ginger sauce. The Chips Masala was so addicting, imagine french fries + ketchup with a hint of masala. The Kuku choma (grilled chicken) and the Samaki Choma (fried tilapia) are a must! Tasty and tender! The owners were super friendly, funny, and welcoming, the food was so tasty!! The chef came out and gave us a little history lesson on how + why African food was influenced by India and the British. 🙌🏼 So cool! The Village offers American-Mexican breakfast/brunch daily, and East African dinners on Friday + Saturday. 🤤 Must try!!

Great small cafe with a friendly owner. We got the biscuits and gravy, yogurt parfait and their specialty taco pancakes. The unique tacos worth the visit.

We loved it so much that we had to go twice during our 5-day stay in SF! Our waiter on the first day was incredibly friendly and even got a fresh potato hash brown made for a halal friend who accidentally got her orders switched with another person and couldn't eat it bc of the pork. The food is not only tasty but pretty too! They also have lower-price options on the back of the menu, which I loved🫶🫶
Love eating here for brunch! There never a wait and if there is it’s very minimal. Very quick and attentive staff! So happy this is in my neighborhood. Pancake tacos are always fun to get
Stopped in here for brunch on my first day in SF. I tried the pancake tacos and wow, they were so delicious I had to get extra one. The host and server were so kind and cordial - it’s definitely one of my best brunch experiences!! I recommend to try this place 100% when you’re in SF!

I got the BLT and and we also ordered the pancake tacos to share Nutella and S'mores. BLT was good p.tacos were fine honestly just visually appealing. I gave this place a good rating because the guy working at the bar area was VERY friendly and gave us tips for sightseeing and restaurant recommendations. Our waitress was a bit distracted but he made sure to check on us so overall enjoyed the service.
Everything tastes good! I really enjoyed the pancake breakfast they offered, I wouldn't change a thing but the price! I think it could've gone for like $12 instead of $15. Very simple, classic and diner style. We went on a Sunday and it was only slightly busy after the brunch rush.
It was pretty good, got a regular breakfast with 2 eggs, some bacon, and potatoes. Also got a oreo pancake taco of course because a lot of people were saying to try out their pancake tacos. That was very very delicious, and worth a try! The rest of the food was pretty solid, service was straight forward, nothing amazing but not bad either just normal place to eat.
Waitress was very sweet & friendly, but the service was very slow (understaffed). Waters on the table quickly, but it took rather long to get coffee and no refills while still eating. Meal delivery to the table was super slow, by the time the last dishes came, the people who got theirs 1st were done eating. The 3 Amigos breakfast plate was good, their breakfast potatoes were delicious! Country Fried Steak breakfast was ok. The pancake tacos were good, but way overpriced. CASH Only or Venmo/Zelle. NO CC's.
Overpriced for what we ordered. Bland breakfast burrito, pancakes were supposed to have strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream on top. They didn't. The server kept saying the fruit is inside. It was not. She finally brought a side of whipped cream and blueberries. The home fries were the only redeeming item. Overpriced for the meal, even in San Francisco.
Small, quaint Cafe with lots of breakfast, lunch, and brunch choices. People who travel to San Francisco, staying at hotel located nearby may frequent this establishment because of it's not too busy feel.
The food was very mediocre, after reading all the reviews I was expecting a lot more flavor and that’s far from what I experienced. I got The Royal — eggs Benedict, there was a whole lot of the hollandaise sauce but no spices/or flavor. Very very bland. My partner got The Chicken Fried Steak which was again bland, overcooked, soggy, and very small portion. To split we also got 3 sweet pancake tacos (was hoping to see an array of different fillings but sadly no, only 2 sweet options) the Nutella banana strawberry & s’mores and those were the best out of everything. Just wish the portions matched the pricing… all of this came out to close to $60….. Huge disappointment here Would I try this place again? Very slim chance, but maybe Would I get anything other than the pancake tacos? No
This was a recommend breakfast place. Service was lackluster, heck didn't even ask how I wanted my eggs! Food was underseasoned and cold. I asked for an Arnold palmer and they were out of lemonade. But took about 5 minutes for the guy to tell me that. It was slow olin there for a Saturday morning yet he loved to hang at the bar and chat with one old guy.
The place is cute and the staff is nice, but that is the most bland breakfast we've ever eaten. I got The Royal and my partner got French toast, and we both wondered where the seasoning and flavor was. To be honest the fruit was the most flavorful part of the meal. If that's your jam, by all means check this place out.
