You dock there like a busted-up pirate ship that’s been out to sea for decades, crawling in with a crew of misfits, bandmates, and the one guy who still owes you twenty bucks from 1994. The moment you walk in, you get smacked in the face with that scent — deep-fried, char-grilled, nostalgia-marinated air that could make a vegan sweat. ⸻ The Food The burgers aren’t Instagram-ready little tower sculptures — they’re real. Beefy, greasy enough to lube your elbows, served on buns that could probably stop a BB. Fries? Crisp outside, fluffy inside, perfectly engineered to scoop up enough ketchup to alarm a cardiologist. The chicken dinners are so golden and crunchy you’ll think someone’s smuggling them out of a county fair. You’re not here for microgreens. You’re here for meat, salt, and joy. ⸻ The Vibe It’s not a “theme.” It’s a damn boat. And not some polished yacht either — this thing has seen some stuff. The rebuild might’ve made it bigger, but it’s still got that “everyone’s welcome” buzz. Always a good time. Not a sports guy but the atmosphere is great. Prices are a bit high in my opinion. But no different than anywhere else in this economy. So enjoy a great burger with a great beer!
Clearman’s Galley—better known as “The Boat”—is one of the best-kept secrets in the San Gabriel Valley. With multiple TVs, it’s a great spot to watch all your favorite teams. The establishment is clean, comfortable, and welcoming, with excellent food and drink selections. The staff is incredibly polite and helpful, which speaks volumes about the management. If I could give them more ⭐️, I would! Stop in—trust me, you’ll be very happy you did.

Came for the first time recently and had a good experience. Atmosphere is cool and casual. The procedure is you order standing up then seat yourself anywhere. However, we had a server pull us over and basically stuck with us the whole time which was very nice and we appreciated it. They have a full bar here and lots of TV's with 2 oversized projectors. The sweet potatoe fries here are knee buckling and a must try!
Large! Fun! Can be cozy, fun. At anytime of day. It is its own world. I watched "horses" and had a drink . Takeout was all over variety. Fish excellent /burger excellent ! A memory was made on a random visit! Yes I will go many more times anytime of day of evening!

Was here Dec 27th 2024 , ordered clam chowder w/2 breads & cabbage salad, wings, bowl of chili, fish & potato wedges. Everything was delicious, except for the cold wedges & fish, no flavor. Service is kind & quick! Atmosphere is lovely 😊
Fantastic place to watch sports games. Huge screens. Great energy. I haven't been here in years, and the good is still very good. The server was helpful and friendly. Both our sandwiches, turkey club and beef dip were delicious. Our sides of fries and onion rings were good.
Been coming here since I was a kid. Food is the same great quality it’s been for decades. Chili cheeseburger is amazing. The salad is the same as Northwoods too. But the atmosphere is great to watch sporting events too!!
The food was good and reasonably priced. A great place to catch a ball game. Plenty of large screen TVs. I had the crispy cod sandwich and fries along with a slice of cheese toast.
Can’t miss this place as has a giant ship on the front. You walk up to the counter to order your food and they give you a number to take to the table. Mostly high tables with some low tables. It’s loud inside. I ordered the fried chicken dinner, the chicken was moist and crunchy and came with wedged potatoes, garlic toast and salad. It’s a fun place to eat, drink and watch the game. They bring your food on a push cart and came out pretty quickly. The prices were reasonable, my meal was $16.95 plus soda with unlimited refills and had small crunchy ice. Overall a fun experience!
Been coming here since I was a kid and remember fondly walking inside the boat to order back in the day. I had the Fried Chicken Dinner $16.99 and it was cooked perfectly as were the sides. Fries only come with set dinners and are sold separately with burgers/sandwiches. My server Paula was very polite and got my food to me quickly. Great place to catch a game with friends. Free parking in lot.

Great local place to grab beers and watch the game! Cheese bread is fun and on the weekend they do seafood
I was here for an Alumni event for my HS. This was the first time here. The staff here earn their money and they are VERY BUSY (so be nice and be patient with them). They have a patio with a fire pit that you can sit around and it's raised with chairs around it. They have a fire place inside too, but I don't know how often they use it. Clearman's North Woods Inn is next door. This is the new location for The Galley (The Boat). I will need to come back to see how they are to give them 5 stars. ;)
Fun place, might be because we went on a chargers football night and they won. Food was classic bar food and the bar menu was extensive.
Sports bar/restaurant. Large cavernous place with numerous large screen TVs for your Abbott sports fans to enjoy. You place your order at the counter for your food, then go find a place to sit and the food will be delivered to you. Kind of a noisy place so it’s kind of hard to have conversations over the loud music, etc. Decent size outdoor patio. I did not order any food at this location, however, other folks in my parties did and seem to enjoy their meal.
This is a hidden little gem in the San Gabriel Valley. I like to come here when I get the chance to. Good beer selection and good atmosphere. This is an establishment in Rosemead. It has a lot of boats displayed, good for the family. I get the fried chicken dinner with the half and half salad. Super good. The servings are hefty, two people can eat of one plate. It's really relaxed atmosphere. Older crowd, so you save yourself from the drama of things getting out of hand. A lot of TV and sports everywhere. Staff is very nice and always serving you with a smile. Stop by if you get a chance.

The quality of the food went down significantly from the last time I was here. Service is still decent, as always, and the overall atmosphere is great, with plenty of screens to watch sports, a well-curated craft beer selection, and tables that are kept sparkling clean and very comfortable. My friend's food looked pretty good. I had their fish and chips, which unfortunately does not come with coleslaw. Everything was overcooked. The fish was at least hot, indicating it was cooked to order. But the fries (wedges) were not even lukewarm and tasted like they were sitting there for a long while. Extremely disappointing. As I was walking out I saw people having fries that looked perfectly cooked and fresher. So I thought maybe I just got unlucky. I understand they get busy during lunch. But to serve food in such an inconsistent manner is just not acceptable, especially when you're paying almost $17 plus tip, for three little pieces of fish. Their tartar sauce could use some work as well. Won't be back anytime soon.
Really cool sports bar atmosphere! Loved how many TVs were available so several games were on for different fanatics. It may seem like the typical sit-down restaurants where you'll have a server, but it's actually an order-first then find your seat. If you want to get some alcoholic drinks, there's a separate bar. A bit slow on the service for a Saturday afternoon and the place wasn't busy. The "bread" is what I had high expectations for after reading reviews about it. It was pretty good! I love a good covered toast with butter and melted cheese. The salad (no matter the size S vs L) comes with the bread and definitely complements each other. We got the large salad with two breads - it came highly recommended. Not a bad salad for its simplicity of chopped romaine lettuce and red cabbage mixed with a creamy vinaigrette but I probably would suggest to a Small just to try, and have another main.
Been coming here since 1990’s, and the famous half chicken dinner becomes fried chicken dinner. They cut in several pieces instead of one half chicken, so that less juicy and less tender. The super salty bread still is my favorite.

12/28/25 at 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Took forever to get served. Food was cold. I Asked multiple staff members to turn on The fire pit outside because there was Not enough sitting inside. They all giggled like you'll never get that. Good luck! Got brushed along. They don't care about customers. the manager don't care at all. I will never come here again. Unfortunately, it seems like it would have been a good spot.
