Opinions de Banh Mi Oven San Jose
Banh mi means the Vietnamese French bread (sandwiches). We had #29 pork + egg small & #1 combo large. It’s $4 small, $10 large. Large is like subway size. Ingredients are fresh, they have cilantro, pickled veggie. Bread is warm & crispy. I asked them for the popular choices. I know this place is popular. They did a great job to renovate & modernize it recently.
you know a cash only place is a yummy place! come here for a bomb banh mi - I got number 29 with pork and fried eggs. And, they give big portions into 2 pieces in an affordable price. definitely worth it!
Decent prices about $6 for a banh mi.... made fresh to order the portions are good the meat to veggie and bread ratio is perfect!
Banh Mi oven opens early at 5am and is conveniently next to 101, which is perfect if you're going on a road trip.🌞 By default, your sandwich is also cut in half which I enjoy since you can share or save the rest for later. Haven't had anything but great service and sandwiches here. My friends and I go here every time we go fishing if it's on the way. Cash only!
First time seeing a very modern, high tech looking Banh Mi shop and it was very nice, clean and organized. The staff was very friendly and the Banh Mi and Vietnamese coffee were "spot on". Recommend you give it a try in East San Jose.
Our favorite sandwich place!!! Also found our kitten here. Video is of him right after we brought him home (8/27/20), pics are recent. Thank you BMO staff for humoring us and helping us catch this little stray :) he is the prince of the house! No guarantees that you'll find a kitten as precious, but the sandwiches are pretty excellent anyway (the BMO tofu is A+!)

This place is a great choice if you're looking for a filling meal with good flavor and a reasonable price. However, please note that it's only suitable for takeout. As a vegetarian, I appreciate that they have more than one Banh Mi option, and to be honest, both that I tried had quite a bit of flavor. The venue is tiny but well-lit, clean, and staffed with welcoming people. I savored a grilled string tofu Banh Mi in a small size featuring marinated string tofu and egg mayo. I also had a small char siu string tofu Banh Mi, which included sweet red BBQ string tofu and egg mayo. I will come back to explore more of its menu.
Pretty good variety of sandwiches to choose from. I got the buy 5, get one free deal. If you're lucky, it might still be around. One thing I noticed was my sandwiches didn't come with cilantro. A bit weird, but probably was just missed.
It’s pretty good, but it could be better. The banh mi was stuffed with meat and all of the veggies, and everything tasted great! My issue lies in the bread. The bread felt a little stale to where it was no longer crunchy. It became chewy and doughy, so the bread could have been toasted before serving. They make fresh bread here, so it’s good bread, but it could have been warmed up before serving. I also got the fruit cup Che, and it was sweet and delicious. However, it didn’t come with all of the toppings that the menu stated for what I ordered.
No frills. No fuss. Just solid banh mis on fresh bread. I tried the BBQ tofu and fried tofu and both were a hit. Recommend getting the extra veggies.

Decent spot to grab a quick bite. Bread and the feelings both are pretty fresh. Service is also quite quick, and they have a good selection of other viet snacks

I initially gave this place a five star, but after my recent experience, I had to lower it to three stars. I’ve ordered sandwiches from here at least 6–7 times in the past, and until now, I had always been impressed—especially with their grilled beef sandwich. However, my most recent order, which was the first time I tried something other than grilled beef, was extremely disappointing. I used their buy one, get one free offer on DoorDash to order some chicken banh mi. Unfortunately, the quality and quantity were not what I’ve come to expect. Unlike my previous orders, which were generously packed with meat and vegetables, these sandwiches were noticeably skimpy. The worse part is that the sandwiches have so many bone pieces in them. I bit into several pieces, which completely ruined my appetite. If you’re going to offer discounts, please don’t sacrifice the quality or quantity of your food. Sadly, this experience has made me hesitant to order from here again.

Sandwiches are good nothing special. They are solid! However service is way below par, numerous times I’ve called in for an order to go. And it amazes me how every time I end up having to wait 10-15 minutes at the establishment. Workers focused on stocking and making an inventory check rather than helping make the sandwiches. I happened to glance over the counter to see if my sandwiches were being made and the older lady was re stocking the food trays while the bread for my sandwiches sat on the counter. This was after me being there for ten minutes. The older lady that’s making the sandwiches had little respect for the customers it seems.
I use to go here years ago when it was on the other next to the supermarket. It was decent then. I came here today for the first time in 5-6 years and I was severely disappointed. Service was great tho — granny made my sandwich. I ordered the dac diet #1 & veggie sandwich. The meat was skimpy and bread was old. I only came here today because duc huong across the street was packed. Great service and sweet old granny making my sandwich, very friendly.
Went at 7:45pm, placed order, waited, and finally got our two sandwiches at 8:15pm. No banh mi is worth waiting 30min for. Wait time aside, the sandwich is a passable 6/10. The two places we usually go to down the street are both more authentic and more tasty than this. If you're in Little Saigon, roll the dice with any other banh mi shop. We will not go back again.

We ordered on Uber eats. Unfortunately they were out of coffee and the drinks we ordered were both coffee drinks so we had to change our drinks to anything else that didnt require coffee. They were ok drinks and didnt take long to make, but they werent what we actually wanted. We parked in between vietnam town and grand century- our vehicle got broken into. Be aware when parking in the area.
I am absolutely outraged. You guys charge 17 dollars. 17 DOLLARS for this??? You don’t even cut the bread all the way and put 4 pieces of tiny meat and charge me 17 dollars? The absolute laziness and disregard you have for your customers. I will NEVER buy from this restaurant ever again. What an absolute shame and disgrace.
FALSE AD- Buy 5 get 1 Free offer was refused when I ordered 4 different sandwiches. It is not printed anywhere that you can only choose 3 sandwiches, but the SJSU student working would not honor me purchasing a 5th sandwich to get the 6th free. (Instead of being greeted, she told me to use the computer to order.) She pointed to a sign on the register where she thought it was printed but wasn't, and then she stated that all locations would not honor the same purchase. Why would you limit it when there are so many good sandwiches?

Ordered off of Uber eats, ordered a tofu banh mi and received pork. Also on Uber eats the menu states every sandwich comes with pickled vegetables and the sandwich had none..extremely disappointing. Be cautious
I had gone to this restaurant to grab a Thai milk tea (the orange'ish one) and used the electronic tablet to place an order. After waiting a couple minutes the lady working the shop comes out with a drink I didn't order. I believe it was the green milk tea, I said that's not the drink I would and tried to get a refund but she said that they she couldn't. The machine didn't say they were out, The woman never warned me ahead of time or when I placed the order. she just went along with it. Luckily, I managed to stop someone else from doing the same thing I did. I never got my refund and I will never go shop here again.
Not sure what changed after they moved from across the street, but the quality definitely went downhill. We came here on the Fourth of July to grab sandwiches for the beach. Our go-to, Duc Huong, had a long wait (30+ minutes), so we decided to try this place instead. The setup inside was strange. There was only one worker—an elderly woman with limited English. The menu screens weren’t even on, and a large shelving unit with packaged goods was awkwardly placed in the middle of the store. Oddly enough, there was also a sign about pharmacy check-ins, which made the space feel disorganized and confusing. To add to the confusion, the worker refused to take card payments unless we placed our order through the self-serve kiosk—even though we were already ordering directly with her. Hygiene was another issue. I couldn’t tell if she changed gloves between preparing orders or handling non-food items. She stapled our bag closed while still wearing the same greasy gloves she used to make the sandwiches, which is pretty concerning. Unfortunately, the food didn’t make up for the experience. The bread was stale and definitely not fresh. The cold cut combo (#1) had American ham in it, which just didn’t belong, and the cha lua was super thin and skimpy. All in all, we left disappointed and wouldn’t come back.
