I ordered the pupusas. The pupusas were amazing. I dare say you haven't had pupusas until you've had them here; with the cabbage, and sauce provided.
I am always looking for my native food and well I have only good things to say about this little gem that I came across after doing some shopping at the near by mall. They not only have Salvadorian food but also serve mexican food which gives the patron many delicious options.
Best Tripas! Good tripas are so hard to come by, and then i found El Palacio Del Sabor. Tripas at other places can be burned, stale, too chewy and soft, or they just dont seem like they were cleaned right.. yuck haha. But the tripas here (as long as you ask for them crispy and well done.. dont forget!) are BOMB.COM. A little greasy sometimes but the best I've come by in San Jose. The taste and flavor of the tripas are on point! My personal favorite: Burrito with carne asada AND tripas mixed (crispy and well done).
I love this Chalateco, the Salvadorian influence brings papusas to the menu along with the standard fare other Chalatecos have. The restaurant could be cleaner, but the staff is attentive and the prices are good. I highly suggest the papusas with loroco, and the cola champagne.
Great tacos, great pupusas!!! Friendly staff.. will be going back 👍🏻👍🏻
Pupusas are homemade..and off the hook best in San Jose.. I want to try other meals ..buuut I just love the PUPUSAS!!!!! DEFINITELY A MUST-TRY IF YOU'RE IN SAN JOSE AREA💯
Great food. Since I was the only Asian in the place during my meal, it must be pretty authentic. Enjoyed my time there.
First time at this place its really clean the service comfortable and the food amazing 💯 recomendado solo falta regresar a probar los tacos en la noche
Por dios que delicia. Bring your sweat pants you'll need it. Try the flor de calabasa quesadillas. I highly recommend this place!
Food is great and service too we loved their popusas and agua de horchata and frutas.
The service was excellent. Restaurant is clean music a bit loud But the food is very good and authentic Salvadoran food!☆
Their chicken and shrimp salad is so bomb! I didn’t get a chance to take a picture but it’s definitely worth trying.
Awesome food, great flavor! But people are the best! Excelente servicio!
Love the yuca with chicharon!! And the burritos de tripa are good, and the popusas= *****
Ordered from Ubereats . WOW…. The food is cooked with love … it’s as simple as that. You can taste it and see it from the presentation to the seasoning. I’ve never been there in person but I can tell whoever is cooking back there knows what they are doing. The consume from the birria is absolutely fantastic.
Excellent, excellent El Salvadoran restaurant. Small, but full of delicious flavors and characters! Service was a little slow but understandable duo to the dinner time crowd. Every dishes we ordered was excellent. Millie. Nothing to complain but full of the praise! I had my first Pupusas and I will coming back for more for sure! The seafood soup was another great hit, not salty at all but full of good seafood and delicious flavors! We need to come back soon!
First time there. The area looks a little sketch at night since it’s next door to a night club on the eastside and parking lot was full. But I didn’t have an issue and I went alone. The food, DELICIOUS! I’ll definitely go back. Probably in the day time but well worth the sketchiness.
The food here never disappoints, the flavor is amazing & portions are huge. I love this place. The food is always made to order so it’s fresh & made with love. The staff is always sweet & supporting local small business adds to the experience. I will continue to come back.
I had the nachos they were so good I always get papusa I decided to get something different I been coming here for a long time I really enjoyed the nachos I will be ordering them again so if you haven't try them I recommend them
My coworkers and I have been craving pupusas for the past week and we finally came around to ordering some. We actually had a few places that we called but the price in bulk was just not reasonable. We ordered the pack of $10 + 1 for free for $38 and the service was fast! It was definitely worth it! The pupusas were delicious! 10/10 will come back here!
Food was delicious. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. Relaxed atmosphere . Will recommend to family and friends
I have been here before. I really like the service. Very friendly server and good food. Enjoyed my guarache

Pupusas revueltas were absolutely fantastic. My 2 year old appreciates the chicken nuggets especially since they were dinosaur shaped. Cabeza tacos were decent. I’d definitely come back for the pupusas :)
I only come here for cheese pupusas. I tried several restaurants and nothing so far tops this small shop. I recommended this place to several people and it has been nothing but positive feedback. So I'd assume other food selection is great. As the lover of cheese, eat pupusas here! Just note that it is best eaten asap, so eat at the restaurant, do not carry out. It would be like eating lower grade A to grade B carry out (depending how long) cheese pupusa from a freshly made grade S food. As for drink, my go to is Horchata. :)
Let me just say the pupusas are absolutely delicious 🔥🔥🔥🔥 the service is super friendly and welcoming. I felt so much more comfortable. My daughter had the quesabirrias and they are perfect. Not oily and the broth has a lot of flavor 10/10
I have been coming here since I was a kid, and this restaurant has NEVER disappointed me. I have always ordered the pupusas, my favorite here in this restaurant. They are just right, every time (crispy pupusas), and if you like the cheese pull; This is the restaurant to come to for the cheesiest. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Prices do vary from what you order. Also, if you order the birria pizza, prepare for a big box of pizza and cups of broth*(consumé), it is absolutely worth the visit. This resturant will make you ROLL OUT, not walk. Every plate is bursting with authentic flavors. Highly recommend to you and your family/friends.
They are such a welcoming business. I'm always greeted with a genuine smile and cheerful salutations. My pupusas reveultas are always fantastic. ¡Sabrosos! The area is tough for parking but if you're ordering to go it all works out.
This restaurant is really nice and the food is really good. Their Popusas are the really good and you get a great portion! The staff are very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place and would come back again.
I was there for pickup it was relatively quick. The food was fresh I think it is the Salvadoran home for authentic Salvadoran cuisine. The music and the TV's all tuned to Salvadoran favorites. Soccer matches and Univision on the TV screens make for an enjoyable place and comida with something for everyone. Kevin
Hands down some of the best pupusas in the South Bay. This place always hits the spot. Parking can be tough— but it’s definitely worth it. They sell both Salvadorian & Mexican dishes.

The revueltas pupusas were good and well stuffed. The downside was that they didn't give enough curtido for all the pupusas we ordered.
CASH ONLY. This place is tasty. Had pupusas. Qué rico! And the (Mexican style) horchata es muy delicioso. I would eat here again.
The only thing I ordered from this restaurant are pupusas which are great and huge.
I was craving for pupusas and gave this place a try. I tried 2 vegetarian pupusas and one of them was excellent.
Food is always fresh the minute u order they make it..great service and polite employees
The pupusas are the best thing to eat at this place, followed by the large tortas.
Met up with a friend here based on their Popusas reviews. It did not disappoint. I had a revuelta and bean and cheese popusa. They were the best I have had in the South Bay. The place is a bit small but the cozy atmosphere is typical for an authentic Latino restaurant. They serve a variety of Latin American cuisine. I plan to return and try out the many options. You should know that it's a cash only establishment and they don't serve alcohol.
Friendly service, not too busy. Pupusas were good, in addition they have a variety of menu items to choose from. Unfortunately they dont have Horchata Salvadoreña, which I usually like to have with my pupusas.
Birria tacos here are to die for!! I would give this place a 5 star but the fact that when I got there they handed me a menu that didn’t have any prices I thought was a bit odd. I then requested a different menu with prices which they later provided me with one. The food is exceptional, the environment is a bit tight and not very clean, and the service is decent. I would highly recommend this place if you like to go to a hole in the wall with fire food. Just don’t forget to ask for a menu with prices published.
Tried the papusas with seafood filling. Tasted pretty good. Loved the fried plankton dish. Quick service. The decor needs updating
Great tacos... Definitely would come back.

Popusas are big and delicious. Good variety. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The only thing I didn't like was that it's small and there's a bad smell outside which is ok if you eat indoors but there's also outdoor seating and that was a complete turn off for me. I usually like to eat outdoors but with the smell we quickly moved indoors.

The food was okay. But... $42 for 5 pupusas and 1 horchata was a surprise to say the least. I guess expect to spend over $100 for a family of 4?

Used to be good when it was Chalateco. Food has gone down in quality and the service is awful. Sat at a table 15 mins without anyone even greeting us. Like, actively ignoring us. We were the only table and they passed by us repeatedly and helped people with To go orders. Didn't even say hi, bring a menu, nothing.
Food wasn't good nachos have too much garnish...
My aunt warned me about this place, but I did not listened ☹I just purchased a consome de pollo and it was disgusting! Unfortunately I fed some to my baby before tasting it, but it had sooo much salt, my toungue literally felt like burning! I will never purchase food from here...ever again.
The food wasn't good at all, at all. A party of 9 adults and nobody was happy wit the food. I don't understand why it has several 5 stars. The place smells weird from the moment you enter the restaurant. The gentleman serving was nice and worked hard with our party and that's why I left a fear tip and get a one start. When I had to pay, just because I was double checking our high bill the cashier made me faces and showed to be very impatient with her attitude. Also, the restaurant needs a major clean up. Check another restaurant and pass on this one.
