Wonderful tasting sandwiches with freshly baked sourdough bread from oven. I got the pastrami sandwiches with provolone cheese. There are many kind of meats options. All sandwiches cost $13 each and cash only , ATM on-site. There are very clean and everyone was friendly and good service. Definitely go back again! 😊

Small sandwich shop that's open 4 hours a day. However they are pretty solid with good prices. Very friendly staff with a pretty good amount of seating outside. Would recommend for sure, good vibes, good prices, and good food.

Been coming here for years, well over a decade….and each time it’s superb! Cash only, but they’ve got an ATM if you forget to bring some…the service is consistently quick, friendly and a reason to return…but the biggest reasons to return are their absolutely marvelous sandwiches….they start with freshly baked steaming warm bread, and all of the fixins meats n cheeses are fresh and aplenty. Solid drink selection, and one of DTSJs fun little secrets. For sandwich lovers, this is a fantastic spot.

Got the Pastrami sandwich with everything on it- costs 11$ and cash only (there is an ATM onsite). There are lots of good looking options so everyone could be happy there. Bread was freshly baked and very crunchy! Great tasting sandwich and would go back again. I think it's better than a place like Ike's. Everyone was friendly and they have lots of shaded seating outside too!

I can confidently say, that you haven't eaten a real sandwich, until you've tried one from here! I've tried sandwiches from every establishment out there, and nothing compares! Where can you find a sandwich place that bakes their own sourdough bread, and bbq's their own meats? I think there might be one other place in San Jose that does, but there is some type of connection to this location. Side note: the employees at the other place are not very friendly. I ordered the Russian, which is their roast beef and turkey on dark Russian rye bread and swiss cheese. I substitute the dark Russian rye for the fresh sourdough bread they make every 30 minutes or so. I'd say this crucial for the overall experience here. If you opt to get regular bread that you can get at any grocery store, you might as well go to Panera or Subway. The sourdough bread is so fresh, sometimes you can even see it smoking. It is always crunchy on the outside, and very soft and warm on the inside. This allows the bread to encase all the goodness inside the sandwich. They use their own special sandwich dressing, which is very light and not overwhelming. They are very consistent here, so you will never get a sandwich that is saturated with dressing. Since the all of their meets are bbq'd in house, the texture and flavor is amazing. Trust me, once you try a sandwich here, it will be very hard to settle for a Subway sandwich. Sandwiches are set at $11, but you will probably end up eating half, and saving the other half for later. This is hands down my favorite sandwich place in the bay area! Don't forget it is cash only.

You guys, THIS is the place. I work a few blocks away and have been looking for a good sandwich spot for lunch (there aren't many) and I have found my go-to in Freshly Baked Eatery. Fast service, fresh ingredients, perfect ratios of meat/cheese/toppings and the BREAD is fantastic. They are cash only but have an atm on-site. Highly recommend.

This hidden gem has THE BEST sandwiches in San Jose. Back in college, everyone in Greek row called it the “secret sandwich shop” because of its lowkey profile. I usually get the classic for the 3 different meats, but you really can’t go wrong with any sandwich. The sourdough bread also comes out steaming hot is mouth watering good.

Read the reviews about the fresh baked bread and made this spot my choice, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The fresh baked bread makes the sandwich. They definitely use quality meat brand boarshead, and fresh fixings. I will definitely be bake each time I visit.
