I didn't know about this place until I did a deep dive on Reddit. This little hole in the wall is probably one of the best Mexican restaurants that I have ever been to. Being open since 1986, they know their way around a birria. I ordered a birria chivo burrito and I had to take breaks between bites to appreciate the flavor. I even thought about the food on the drive home. Even as I'm writing this, I crave another burrito. I ordered a carne asada burrito to take home, and even that was superb.

10/10! Food is always hot and delicious. I love their borrego tacos with handmade tortillas. Quesabirria de res is also amazing. The salsas and toppings for the tacos is always fresh! Love this place!

INCREDIBLE ... been coming here as long as I can remember and it has always been the absolute best. Tender, flavorful, and the red sauce is a perfect spicy complement ... i usually order birria with rice and beans which comes with a small bowl of broth.

Well what should I say. This was the best lamb we had in California. The lady was so nice to us. Asked if this was our first time here. Explained their specials. Gave us suggestions. Oh the Taco was so fresh and hot I must say. If you like the grilled flavor of lamb you must visit this place. Bonus fact this place opened around 1986.

Really great authentic birra have not been dissapointed yet, you get what you pay for. Seating could be better a bit cramped but overall great place for birra. Bad reviewers dont know good birria if it smacked em in the face.

I've come to this place ever since I was little kid, when my parents brought me here and to this day the restaurant is still amazing! Such a great and happy environment. I still remember the employees from back in the days! Food is still absolutely delicious and their portion sizes are still fantastic! This honestly probably the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to hands down! Every time I go to San Jose, I just have to come on down to La Birrieria!

Not the best food, or maybe not to my likeness. Was a bit expensive for a little place off the wall. Ordered the supreme burrito 🌯 no flavor salsa was plain but spicy. Won't be going there no more, sorry

My husband and I order the Birria con arroz y frijoles con consome on the side. He got goat and I got beef. Tbh I had better but it wasn't bad either. It was just ok.

I unfortunately have to leave a one star because the flavor here was missing. The consomé was salt water lol. The actual birria was colorless as well as flavorless and the salsa that is provided does not pair well with the meat.
