Love Winnershnitzel for their shakes. And of course their chili fries and hotdogs. Miss the Winnershnitzel on Story Rd. They take too long to fix up any damages it has. 2nd or 3rd time burned down😞. Need to get cameras to see who's doing this!!!

Hot dogs are very good, their chili is great, but my all-time favorite is their jalapeno poppers, and this location always gets the order right no matter how much stuff you order and the staff is professional and friendly!

Kids argue with I come here to have me 1 chili cheese dog and 6 little corn dogs sometimes fries and water sit in the parking lot and enjoy general hospital, no matter what I like this place.

Love weinerschnitzel and will hit this location every time i pass it on my way to santa cruz. I stop and get 20-30 chilly dogs and eat them all week while on vacation. Nothing beats a breakfist chilly dog with cheese

The napkins were so crisp I swear they ironed them. Jalapeño poppers were just right and the staff were friendly and personable.

My visits here in November 2014 were great. Was on vacation from Texas, where W's are far and few between. Corn dogs with chili cheese were the bomb. Same with the chili cheese dogs as well. Many dog varieties to choose from, and they'd even 'customize' for ya if you wanted something of the menu. They were very accommodating, which was a plus.

The restaurant finally opened having been closed near 2 years from a devastating fire. It's new and all shiny and they serve all my favorites. There isn't but a couple Weinerschnitzel stores in San Jose left. My family has always enjoyed hotdogs, and this spot is our favorite. The grandchildren get a kick out of the shape of the building. We visit whenever the urge comes. The cost is still affordable and the food tasty.

I like how they freshly make the classic cheeseburgers when you order them honestly way better than a jumbo jack or McDonald's cheeseburgers not gonna say they are better than In and Out but they are a close tie in my book. And the large fries in a large cup are awesome and enough for two people if you like sharing but I love to munch on them so I don't share lol 😆

After I picked my boys up from school, we stopped here to have a small treat - 2 chocolate sundaes and 1 hot fudge sundae. Instead of going straight home, we decided to sit and enjoy the day with each other. We're constantly moving, whether we're in school, working, or both. We never really stop to smell the roses, as they say. That's what we did - immersed in this urban environment, those sundaes took us back to when we lived out in the country, away from the light and noise pollution. Away from technology - Those simple, beautiful times. The breeze picked up, my youngest yelled at the air for blowing his napkin away, and the sun shone down upon us as though lighting up this moment to be remembered for years to come. If there were a meaning to life, it would be to make the most out of every moment no matter how small and to remember that there is magic in even the tiniest drop of rain.

Best chili in the world to me. Its definitely a weekly craving that i always fulfill. The new Cheese Burger is so wonderful too. Friendly staff that always suggest items to try. Will definitely recommend to everyone.

This place Is like so cheap and has very good classic food. Tbh this place has some really good hotdogs and a large cup of fries is $3. Only scary thing is the neighborhood and not to scare people but in may someone died here.

We just love going back for the Chile Cheese Fries and the Chile Dogs.

We no longer have a Der Weinerschizel in our city & every now & then we get a craving for their chili cheese dogs & fries. They're still very consistant with their recipe, even from almost 40 years ago when my wife & I were out on one of our first dates. My wife hardly ever likes cheese except on her chili dog which she turned me on too. Delishious & quick order. Now they even have great combo packs. What a deal. Good stuff.

I always go there my daughter and I just sit and talk. I am always pushed for time, if your house is messy because no time to clean or pick up, and you like to spend time with your little one growing up so fast, believe me don't go HOME just go get a hot dog fries and ice water, that's the place to go. Hear them talk about what ever it is. Then go home and complain about how nothing gets done without Mom, Great Moms like us : )

The Chicago dog was really good..and I am usually not into hot dogs. The poppers were excellent too. It is not the best area but the place was clean and the food was fresh..so who cares about the view. The employees were nice too and gave me a straw and napkins without me asking. I will be back there soon!

Food is fresh, fries are hot, prices are not that bad. Drive through moves really fast. Great specials with coupons always running. Definately a great change up from burgers. Reccomend that you try. Consistency is always a great thing when food is good and hot.

For fast food it's not bad. The prices though I think are a bit high. But for something different it's OK once in awhile.

Fast service, tasty food, decent prices. Small parking lot so if it's full, you're going to have to find somewhere else to eat. Drive thru available as well. Has about 3-4 tables I believe.

I love the chocolate dipped cones and the chilli dogs but the only reason for a 4 star instead of 5 is the prices, I mean come on there hot dogs for god's sake there not lil rolled up filet mignons

Not many hot dogs places you can go short of finding a food cart on the street but it of all weinerschitzels this ones my go to and I love closer to the one downtown

Wienerschnitzel is a fantastic little fast food restaurant. The lack of indoor seating can be a real annoyance, but if you just need drive thru, it's perfect. The menu items are tasty, and cheap, but can often fail to fill you up.

Great service. I was lucky and drove in when no one else was in line! Then drivers started coming in behind me....Bought a chili dog and root beer float - Yum!

Should have gotten the chilli dog. Corn dogs and fries were very crispy. The strawberry lemonade was very sweet and not tart at all. Pretty good

Okay, it seems weird for me to review a true franchise like Wienerschnitzel, but there's a really good reason, so stick with me on this one. There are a lot of childhood experiences that people revisit later as adults, and I am wondering, is Wienerschnitzel as good as I remember? The question of Wienerschnitzel's food quality comes down to some very poignant aspects of my life, and one of them is sure to overlap with a lot of other people. First, there's my love for ball park hotdogs. Not the brand, but hotdogs that are served at an actual stadium event. When you can't get to a stadium, what options are available for high quality hotdogs? In this regard, Wienerschnitzel fits the bill. They have a few variations on hotdogs, Polish, Original, and All Beef. I went with the All Beef version. I ordered two dogs, Chicago and the Junkyard Dog (another childhood S/O to the WWF). Both of the items come fully prepared with the fixings, so if you're not familiar with the different hotdog styles across America, you may want to brush up before the visit. The hotdogs were both great, but most notably the Chicago dog. This stands out for me because I've had this particular flavor, in Chicagoland, at Portillos, so the bar was pretty high. Although, the selection of all beef hotdogs leads me to the second aspect of my review, value. As someone who's been looking for a suitable hotdog stand for a while, I admit that I've been frequenting 7 Eleven for a while. Their Big Bite hotdogs are always on special, and at the time of this review, they are 2/$3.49. The dogs at 7 Eleven don't come prepared, but they are the same, if not better, quality. You won't have the same amount of toppings available, but it's a legit threat, and probably the closest to the stadium style for which I'm always searching. Wienerschnitzel would have lost the value category if it wasn't for the Crowd Favorites section of the menu. The three and five piece hotdog, fry, and corn dog combos simply can't be beat. If I had a car full of kids (which I don't by the way), it would be a pretty hard deal for me to pass up. The three hotdogs, fries, and corn dogs are $14, making it less than $5/child. Great bargain. Lastly, there's the environment. All I can really say is, it's still a Wienerschnitzel. So if you are looking for a drive through hotdog stand on the cheap, oddly enough, Wienerschnitzel is still as good as I remember.

If you're taking to go, make sure you check your order is correct before you leave. Late night crew is especially egregious when it comes to messing up your order. UPDATE: This location has heard the feedback and the last couple times I came through late night they got my order perfectly. I still check but so far so good.

I got the coconut lemonade. It tasted really good, like a piña colada. It was super sweet though.

Its good. Both my friend and i got upset tummy, maybe from eating too much too fast. Didnt last long. But ive had better weinerschniztels.

The staff is wonderful but the food seems a bit off. The fries were overcooked and tasteless but the hotdog and jalapeño poppers tasted decent.

8/22/23 moved in to sj and this is what i was looking forward to. just a normal hot dog stand.

You order either thru drive thru or you place your order outside in the front window. 3 stars because they charged my brother twice one one someone else's order but they refunded him in cash (he paid debit card) food was as expected. They charge 25 cents for ranch.

it was good the lady didn't speak very good English and she mixed up my order but it in that she I could tell she was working hard and it was really really early in the morning like you know a.m. but like maybe at 1 and so she was doing the best she could plus she was the only one working on shift so I feel bad for her but all in all the food was made right and she was willing to compensate me that's what's up

Old original stand alone drive thru location with plenty of onsite parking. There's a walkup counter on that street side. Menu is primarily hot dog based & average quality.

It's not a Michelin star spot, but it's tasty and fairly clean. No indoor seating, and you may see some colorful nightlife if you go later in 5 evening.

Typical fast food. Service is quick and the food is consistent with other wienerschnitzels. There is no indoor seating so the drive thru is busy.

Get emails from wienershnitzel and can print coupons from them. But went to use but they said it was fake. Need to train their employees so they know about the online coupons and honor them.

There are only 2 locations in San Jose that I know of and this one is closest to me. Even though the hot dog was undercooked this place is ok.

Love the shakes and mini corn dogs. In days past, the food was much better quality and flavor, but if you want average food at an average and nothing else is close, Der Wienerschnitzel will do in a pinch

The mini Sunday was good, service was a little slow, tried to use the bathroom but it took 3 tries to get employees to open door. I enjoyed myself thou. There was a lady of the night on the corner in front of the store, seemed kinda gehto.

I came by to grab some grub, only to find a "not so.sought" selection of choices, I asked if I can mix or match and was told no. Really, so I ordered minimal and left, one thing is the hot dogs are so salty and not even beef, I understand their was beef for.alot extra, corn dogs maybe the only good thing there.

Fast food place, reasonably priced with outdoor seating and drive through (no indoor seating). The person at the order window was very nice. I wanted to try the Chicago all-beef dog. Unfortunately they gave me the wrong dog but fortunately I noticed before leaving and they fixed the issue and made me my Chicago dog. Dog was good so no complaints and because I had touched the chilly dog when I opened it they told me to keep it so I got to try it. Good if you want a chilly dog. Overall a good option if you want a hot dog. BTW... to those that have never been to this fast food chain, if you are looking for WienerSchnitzel... try a different place. This is a hot dog fast food restaurant.

Tried new items on menu. Chili Mac n cheese $5.99. It was better than expected. The shrimp po-boy was worse than expected. Only 6 shrimp and very underwhelmed. The crispness was there but felt like I was eating mostly bread due to the small size of shrimp.

I would only suggest eating here when there's nowhere else to eat. Great for costs bad for your stomach bad for your taste buds

When its late night and you have the cravings to eat something usually late nights it's wienerschnitzel time not always but when you need chilli dogs and chilli burgers etc it's enjoying simple fast food so when your in need of fast food and your near by have some wienerschnitzel simple food.

Temperature was as if it was pre-made and was sitting or an order was changed but it definitely wasn't made to order. Bad attitude of employees. Poor area with riffraff around.

The menu has changed and is extremely limited. The service wasn't great. Took forever to get my food and there was no line. The location is in a shady part of town. I would not recommend this place to anyone and won't be returning.

I paid for 20 pieces jalapeno poppers, but I only got 13 pieces instead. I live in the West side of town. I will let the manager know next time.

I spend 30 dollars and they forgot to give me the corn dogs tried calling them to complain but nobody answered the phone. The cashier had an attitude problem.

They have a unique flavor at this fast food hot dog joint. They are not expensive and have great corn dogs and refreshments. Most have a drive thru as does this particular one.

cashier was over checking a $1 bill I gave him that was washed one too many times and held me up for about 10 mins while he asked an other employee their opinion while it was obvious that it had been overwashes a few dozen times possibly...homeless around and service was not done friendly...when he realized I didn't speak Spanish he (the cashier) didn't even smoke or offer condiments with my order

Rushed me to order, took forever to serve, messed up my order, and then overcharged me. Not only did they not ask if a wanted napkins or condiments, they didn't even just put them in my bag.

They have selected hearing. When I order something and I've already repeated myself 3xs I'm expecting to get my order right . But I didnt.

I had ordered 2 root beer floats at the speaker box. Got to the window to pay and they don't repeat the order they just take your payment. They handed me one root beer float and saw my receipt, they only charged one. I told the man to charge me for another and he was like I need to do this large order return, I can't. Had me wait and gave me attitude. To all of this I didn't get the second float, he was to busy to charge me for another.

The food is cheap but it reflects the quality of it. Also their staff really rude when you ask for anything, specially the women’s that speak Spanish. This is one of the main reasons I’m not buying again

Terrible staff, they don’t know their own menu. They also, try to take advantage of you, example, there was a special offer, and instead of charging it as a whole, they charged me every hot dog individually. Every time I go, there is always, ALWAYS, an error with my order. I do not recommend this place, staff are really clumsy and that’s really it.

Don’t really go here much but tonight they were so screwed up. Ordered a chili cheese dog, regular bacon ranch fries and a shake. They added Jalapeño poppers to my order for no reason, which I didn’t ask for. I got my food and the girl didn’t even give me my shake. Just horrible service and the woman tried to charge me for jalapeño poppers even though I didn’t order them. Just horrible service in general and I almost left without my shake because they forgot to give it to me. Maybe they need better workers.

Maybe it's better if you don't go through at 9pm, but holy crap... I ordered 2 like items and 2 shakes. I received 3 different items, and two shakes - one of which was peanut butter cup instead of fruit loops. How do you mess up a fruit loop shake? We were so frustrated with the entire ordering process we just took the order and left. Never hitting this franchise location again though.

I find it very rude when people like cashier Martha and the cook working at 5:40PM like to talk about their customers in spanish (which I totally speak and understand) with the drive thru window open. Martha was initially rude from the moment i drove up despite it being completely empty but looked the other way as it is a Sunday but it unfortunate when they continue add insult to injury with events followed.
