The atmosphere and decor are absolutely beautiful, and the restaurant is very child- and family-friendly. The food portions are generous with great presentation—especially the guacamole! Everything was delicious and full of flavor. Our server, Armando, was such a gentleman: very polite, friendly, and attentive. The music is super groovy and really adds to the vibe. Definitely recommend Zazil—100% worth it!

A fun place with some very delicious food. It's Mexican with a twist. Love the way the lady comes and makes the guacamole in front of you in her big stone mortar and pastel. We had the tacos . mushroom empanadas, a shrimp small plate, pork, chicken, chili renello and so much more. The ambience was perfect for a group of friends, it was loud, fun and with a lot of character. The service was great. Overall, great ambience, amazingly yummy food and great vibes in Santana Row with a lot of life. Definitely going back!

The outdoor seating offers a beautiful ambiance and an inviting vibe that immediately sets the tone. We ordered the guacamole, lasagna, and tres leches—each dish was delightful, but the highlight was the guacamole, prepared fresh right in front of us, making it a fun and memorable experience. What truly elevated our evening was our server, Reyna. She was attentive without being intrusive, checked in on us regularly, and offered spot-on recommendations that we thoroughly enjoyed. An experience worth repeating—we’ll definitely be back.

Gorgeous restaurant, open late! Great for after theater dinner. We stopped there after fright night at Winchester and their food was amazing. Made fresh guacamole and tostadas were to die for. Just because careful with their cups. They aren't made for those that have had more than one drink. Lol

The atmosphere is just beautiful. We had no wait to be seated. Service with Fred was phenomenal. He assisted on informing us about the lunch and brunch menus as well as the alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available. He also gave his suggestions and reconfirmed how delicious our choices were going to be. We received our food and great time and prior to .. we were already given chips and dip to start. I had the Zazil Fajitas and they were divine. My husband has the Albodingas de Chicharron and he loved it. We will be back and it was a great experience here for our first time dining. The guacamole was incredibly fresh, even though it was made with just three simple ingredients. They prepared it right in front of us, almost like a little show. The steak was a bit dry, but the tacos were really flavorful. The service was quick, though it felt a little rushed.

Loved our business dinner at this entertaining Mexican restaurant in the heart of Santana row. Food 5/5. Entertainment 5/5. Atmosphere 5/5. Service 5/5. We were seated there outdoor right by the live music. Ordered guacamole table service which was very authentic and entertaining. I ordered mariscos plate which was abundant and tasty. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere. Welcomed warmly the second we arrived by super friendly hosts. We loved the guacamole served table side! We came for brunch. They provide both the brunch and lunch menu. Start you off with chips and two house made salsas, orange sauce was delicious we suspect it’s made with squash. We ordered the concha and quesadillas for openers. Concha’s are baked in house they had a sweet airy crispiness to them not too sweet. For drinks we had the fresh water of the day melon juice, green juice, and coffee all three drinks were fresh and made with real fruits/veggies/beans. For our main dish we got the omelette and arranchera and eggs. The meal was overall delicious, the staff was friendly/welcoming, and the ambiance is vibey but not too loud to where you cannot have a conversation. Great for girls brunch, date, families. Would come again. Shout out to our waitress Maria for being so attentive and making it a nice experience.

I rarely write negative reviews, but Zazil at Santana Row was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in the area. The restaurant was noticeably dirty, and even the ice in my glass looked cloudy and unclean. The chips were stale, which is unacceptable for any Mexican restaurant. The fajitas were so oversalted they were inedible, and the ceviche had almost no flavor — just an overwhelming amount of salt. The quesadilla was dry, bland, and poorly prepared. Everything tasted like it had been sitting out too long, yet the prices were shockingly high for the quality served. What should have been a pleasant meal turned into a total disappointment. Santana Row has many excellent options — this one simply doesn’t meet even a basic standard of cleanliness or flavour.
