Surprised to have a good selection and everything I ordered was good. It is pricey and you have to pay just to access the restaurant which is strange. I was starving after hiking so I wasn’t too particular.

I ordered black coffee (which anyone can get it right) with guava queso empanada - here’s the reason of my review. They’re freshly fried, so you’ll get to taste it right after it’s done 🤤 I’m used to baked empanadas, didn’t know what I was missing until now - fried empanas for the win!

I loved it! We tried the Yunque cheese burger 🍔 and it was delicious! Honestly the best burger I ever had! And the fries 🍟 so good and crunchy! Oh and also we had Alcapurrias and sorullos de maíz. (Corn sticks) yummy 😋 it was all so yummy!

Great place to grab lunch while visiting the rainforest! They offer a variety of food, nonalcoholic and alcoholic drinks, and coffee. We tried a sampler platters and enjoyed all of it!

I can't imagine any other national forest cafe cooking better rice and beans! They were so delicious! If you didn't do the economical thing; and pack a brown sack lunch, you wont be disappointed with the options here. If being a scientist gives you the opportunity to have these rice and beans on a regular basis maybe I need to rethink my career path choices.

Stunning! El Yunque is a must see. The tropical rainforest is so incredibly lush. We did not go to cafe, too much wonderful verdant flora. 🙀😻

I was honestly STUNNED by how good the food is. This is the sort of place that I expect to have a terrible hot dog or a PB&J and instead I got something (I had the shrimp bowl) I’d be delighted to receive in an expensive restaurant.

Hermosa vista desde el portal del yunque hacia Luquillo Río grande mucho que ver y aprender tanto de las aves como de las plantas mucha información sobre que podemos encontrar, cuantos bosques hay plantas endémicas y endémicas solamente de la cordillera de Luquillo. Muy lindo en general perfecto para conectar con la naturaleza.

The food was good. No complaints. We got scrambled eggs, Egg burritos and Guava-Cheese Empanadas. The service was slow, it took about 25 minutes for the food to get ready when we were the only people in the Cafe. They were adequately staffed - 3 people in the front counter and 4 people inside the kitchen area. Probably since we were early, we were probably the first people who ordered. The food items were fairly priced.

Only ate a beef empanada, which was freshly fried and the sauce it came with it was like crack. Very good, except lacking on the beef filling. Prices are decent, but service is VERY slow.

No uso el tamper para el café, mezclo el café con agua de pluma lit casi hasta arriba para hecharle un poquitito de leche. Hizo un reguero brutal con el vaso ya que lo estaba haciendo tirado y de mala gana. Me tiro el café en el counter con el sorbeto y gracias a dios que fui con la idea de pasar un ratito de paz en el yunque porque el reguero de canela que le dejé en el counter fue POCO para lo que merecían las malcriadas que me atendieron en la tarde de ayer mayo 27, 2024.

Terrible experience. The stringy-haired blonde at the counter was extremely rude. She mumbled under her breath Americano because she got three elements of our order wrong and I asked her to correct them. Absolutely disgusting attitude and the food is not much better. They also charged me for food that I did not get. They said that they would credit it but it is still showing up on my account. Very shady.

On the appetizer platter were fake crab nuggets, corn sticks, yuca fries, unknown potato slice...things, and random stick things with some morsel of unknown meat inside. All items tasted like they were fried in the same old oil. The pork platter was not good either. Large fat chunks were all throughout the pork and despite our best discernment, we still bit into more fat than we would like. The rice that came on the side was hard, like it was microwaved with not enough water, the macaroni salad side that came with it tasted like JUST mayo, and the last item on the plate was some item wrapped in a leaf. It was squishy and soft like pumpkin puree, but not sweet, not spicy, and somehow also tasted like fish. I really wish we were able to get our $65 dollars back, because my wife and I both left hungry, and not feeling well, as we embarked on a day of hiking. Please go somewhere else. Save your money, save your stomach, have a great day.
