Great pizza! Fabulous crust! Wish there was a Slice House in Richmond, San Pablo, El Cerrito, Albany, or Berkeley!
We're from Philadelphia... this is the closest to East Coast pizza we could find. So happy!! The meatballs are amazing.
1st time here. Nice sized pizza ...pretty pricey for 6 slices..BUT the good thing you can get 12 out of the 6 just cut it again.. The pizza was oily BUT VERY FLAVORFUL...I'll come back again..The staff was very friendly and welcoming. You have a future repeat customer in me!
OSL does it again. Slice house is the premier pizzeria of not only the town but in my opinion, of the entire Bay Area. Tucked away off Parrot st this cosy joint plays host to some of the best pizzas I've had since venturing east to Napoli. Boasting three incredible crust options you cannot be disappointed. Do yourself a favour and grab a slice...house.
Googled good places to and good truly isn’t the work for how amazing this pizza is. I ordered the Buffalo wings, which were so crispy and the sauce was mild with the right amount of vinegar taste that good buffalo sauce has. The pizza its self was the star of the show. I ordered the Rosa and the Hawaiian Sicilian style. The pizza dough has a nice soft crunch on the outside and a soft interior, the pepperoni ok the Rosa was the cute cupped pepperoni with are the best kind because they get nice and crispy on the edges, and the Hawaiian pizza was delicious with the pineapple but, I’d skip out on the pineapple syrup it was just too sweet for me. The service was 10/10 I would give 100 starts if I could food got to us quick and the two people in the front extremely nice! Over all 100/10 stars. Highly recommend to eat here don’t even second guess. Oh and they also sell slices if you don’t want a whole pizza. (But I wanted the whole pizza)
Great pizza especially by the slice. The restaurant is small, about 5 tables inside and about 4 outside.
This is a well overdue review. My family and I came here a few weeks ago for some pizza to take home and grabbed a beer while we waited. Collin was the one who helped us. Amazing service & very knowledgeable. Our favorites were Purple Potato & Webbs Double Sausage pizzas. You’ve also gotta try their Bacon Arugula Salad…. Fire!
This spot has been open for a few years now and I thought I'd reviewed it previously, but here we are. They're going through a change of ownership at the moment, but I wouldn't have guessed - nothing noticeable has changed and, critically, the crust is the same. It's not a complicated formula. Great crust, freshly made tomato sauce. There's no better pizza in the East Bay.
Stopped by randomly on a Saturday afternoon and had the best pizza I’ve had in a long time. Our order took a while and it was worth the wait!! The crust was absolutely perfect, fresh sauce and toppings. The best pesto sauce I’ve ever had in life. We ordered thinking we’d take leftovers home to the kids and quickly changed our mind.
Have to say one of if not the best slice off pizza. Big, flavorful, mouth watering
Theo was amazing. This guy gave us great service and the pizza was fabulous. Way better than the Walnut creek location!!! This place is a hidden gem
Now our favorite pizza place!!! We've had similar ny style crusts, but we really love how chewy and thin this crust is. The outer crust has good gluten bounce and flavor. We love the size of the large, but the medium is the perfect ratio of crust to toppings. Our go-tos are pigman (housemade bbq plus pancetta just kills it!) and sweet gino (simple mozz bazil and sweet marinara). Usually pick up is available 15-25 mins. Medium pizza is a little priced higher but worth it, the large is perfect for double cutting. We usually grab 2 mediums because we love the crust texture and topings ratio better The other crust styles are too thick (chicago chicken bacon was a bit dry), but still interested in trying them. I usually like deep dish pies, but the toppings ratio needs a lil work. The service is always so friendly and helpful and you can tell they love the pizza too.
Very chill place, decent beers on tap. Jeanette (hope I got the spelling right) was very accommodating and engaging. I tried the New York cheese and the Grandma's style Wise Guy. The New York: great flavor, great blend and a nice crunch from tip to crust. Good char too. The grandmas wiseguy: great blend of two different sausages, one may have been fennel, superb! Sweet sauce with an olive oil and red pepper flake drizzle to balance. It was like a pizza sauce war going on in my mouth lol. Washed down with the "Laughing Monk" IPA on tap. Summer IPA which is seasonal, is also quite good. You cannot go wrong here.
Hubby and I got take out lunch from Slice House today. We shared a Caesar Salad and a 13 inch Paesano Pizza. It is one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. The crust was amazing! Good flavor, perfect amount of char to add a bit of smokiness, but never tasted burnt, never got soggy and had a awesome chew. The sauce was very tasty. They used a perfect amount of cheese for me, as I often ask for extra cheese. They're so generous with the cheese, "extra" would've been too much. Great meat variety and nice, fresh mushrooms completed this delicious pizza. Their Caesar Salad was crisp, fresh, and great dressing. It provided a nice contrast in between bites of the pizza. Hubby really liked it as well. We will definitely go back!!
I love the pizza the salad, even their wings and they have a good variety of beers.
Tony Gemignani is a genius when it comes to making pizza, plain & simple. He's a world renowned chef and it really shows in his food. I first tried his pizza at his original restaurant, Pyzano's in Castro Valley, way back in the late 90's. It's closed since then, but Slice House carries on the tradition of excellent pizza. I ordered a 13" pepperoni pizza, which came out to about $21 or so (before tip). I picked it up to go on a saturday afternoon, shortly after they opened, so there was only a table of people inside when I arrived. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, but it's a bit on the small side and I can imagine it fills up quickly. Luckily they offer outdoor seating as well. The staff was great and very attentive; I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. The pizza itself was amazing. The best pepperoni pizza i've ever had. The crust & toppings were incredibly flavorful; each slice was covered in pepperoni. The 13" pie is a bit small, so if you're like me and can put down 2-3 slices easy, this size is for 1-2 people at most. You won't find better pizza in the Bay Area. I've also tried their pizza at their other location on 2nd st. In SF and the quality is just as good.
I've been eating at Tony's Pizza in SF, the OG GOAT location, since 2012. This was my first time trying the Slice House in San Leandro. We ordered the Motorhead pizza, which was really good. All of the toppings were fresh and tasty. The ricotta made the pizza pop! Super good! The dough was cooked perfectly. I ordered the pizza thru delivery, and it still tasted good heated up in the microwave. If a pizza tastes good after heating it up in the microwave, it's a solid pizza in my book. I highly recommend the Slice House in San Leandro. It will be my go-to pizza spot from here on out. BTW, the Slice House has nutrition and calorie information available online, which is perfect for those who track their calories/macros.
Man the pizza here is just incredible! I was looking for New York vibes and I got it! Delicious food and good value! Yummy chicken wings and gorgeous crunch on those fries! This hit the spot! And right in front of the Hendrix Hoise lol!
This place is the real deal. A great small sports bar and restaurant. Great to drop in for a drink at the bar. Great to bring friends and get full pizzas. Great for ordering single slices. They always have a good selection of slices on-tap. Their slices are absolutely huge, the equivalent of two slices of regular pizza. And they have two screens and are very accommodating with customer interest in specific games. Shout out to Colin and all the employees. Check it out!
Phenomenal pizza. Got the purple potato and meat lovers. Would definitely eat here again. Looking forward to their expansion to Livermore !
Delicious pizza by the slice or whole pie. Solid tap list as well with beers you don’t necessarily see every place. There is a by the slice counter when you walk in and that means you can get food fairly fast as they just bring those slices back up to temp or you can have a full dining experience in their cozy seating area or outside.
Walk in here with my brothers and son. Was not busy at all. Always wanted to try this spot since I heard the reviews for all the folks that live in SL. Atmosphere was great, felt homey. Service was great since the guy was very patient. I’ll be honest I did not know what I wanted. They did had some display by the slices. Detroit paesano caught our attention. We also went with their recommend pie they referred. Took the food home and took pics of it. Now for the actual taste. Tried the recommended pizza first. Crust was awesome, crunchy, chewy. The sauce was a sweet marinara, and they had fresh mozzarella. Fresh mozzarella was delicious but I’m not a fan of the marinara.overall I’ll rate that pizza a 6/10. Now for that Detroit pizza. The first bite was divine, savory marinara sauce with pepperoni, meat ball, mushrooms. It was also like a deep dish pizza. It was definitely on point, crispy ,crunch ,chewy crust. 8.5/10, 9/10 when I added their crush red pepper to add a really decent kick.

Amazing. I went there during the afternoon. Not much was going on. But the smell of the food was intoxicating. I placed an order online showed up a little early. I ordered a beer that they have on tap. The beer was amazing and served at the perfect temperature. Customer service was amazing. And when I brought the food home it was amazing. Meatballs 10 out of 10. Pizza tonight at 10 out of 10. If I had to complain it will be the parking. That area of San Leandro is notorious for bad parking. I would definitely come back to slice House
I came here on my lunch break were it was alittle slow. But the person who I can only assume is the manager or chef has awesome service. He held the door for me and recommended flavors that’s were phenomenal. Best pizza in the bay outside SF. Even if the pizza wasn’t as good as it is. The service alone would have coming back. Not mention the restaurant is spotless and prices are beyond fair for a slice
I have been a Bay Area native forever and let me just say find GOOD pizza is a task within itself . This place is a gem I must say the pizza is really really good. I always see people coming and going and it’s usually busy , I stopped by today and I had a Great experience! Not only the food but the service was 10/10 . I believe the person I spoke with today was the Area manager who was helping the team today and he was super nice great conversation and he was very confident in the food . He did not steer me wrong and I love that you can literally get it by the slice ! I got two slices and wings today the wings were solid ! It was a very welcoming friendly environment and I feel like that’s what we need . A few regulars were in the restaurant while I was eating and they were having great conversation about food with the staff . I definitely recommend this place to everyone especially for families
It took me some time to "discover" this place, and didn't realize it was by The Tony. Having traveled to Naples, Italy and been fortunate enough to dine at some of the world's top 10 rated pizza places, it is hard to find something to compare to in the US. This is not to say to say that there aren't great pizza places here. But if you want that authentic Italian style crust with all the familiar American favorites and convenience, this is where you need to go. It's a casual, unassuming spot that serves up something that was clearly developed with time and culture.

First time ordering a pizza for pickup from Slicehouse. Family ordered their Detroit Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza. Thick cheese crust, bacon and Ranch sauce instead of a tomato sauce. Son enjoyed it, but says was a bit heavy. My husband enjoyed it, "knowing" beforehand it wasn't going to be a lite option. We like the non-tomato based options since we have someone who prefers white sauce pizzas over red. We look forward to trying their other options. Pizza-by-the-slice has four static options, and three that rotate daily. Your purchase of the Double Header, one of the slice options, contributes a $1 to the Giant's fundraiser.
It’s one of those times you forget to take a decent picture of your order cuz you were too excited to eat. PICANTE pizza 🍕 with wings. My 2nd order of the week cuz this was totally bomb 💣!! My 1st order just a few days ago was 1/2 PICANTE , 1/2 CHICKEN RANCH. Which was also 💣!!! I also had a slice of the PURPLE POTATO 🥔 🍠 Yes they do half n half. Just as long it has the same sauce base or no sauce base..
SF East Bay. Our go-to pizza place! We even used to go to the Walnut Creek branch for take out. We may or may not have tried all flavors already 🤣 All are mostly good, more a question of which we prefer over the other. They also sell by the slice if you want to try it out first and not commit to buying a whole pie.
The pizza here is pretty good. It tastes pretty fresh. The kids and I do like more cheese, but overall it was pretty good. The service was fine. They basically give you your pizza and the rest is self serve. They were nice. The atmosphere is fine. I thought it was kind of expensive for what it was though, but not bad. The garlic bread was pretty good and had a lot of cheese but the pizza could have used more mozzarella.
The pizza was stellar, did an order for pick up and it was ready on time. The quality of the pizza is top notch and great flavor. Only thing keeping it from a 5 star is the energy of the service provided, and the restaurants ambiance. We didn’t eat there but it was very low energy and not very welcoming. Nobody was rude but very low energy service. Maybe it’s cause all the energy goes into making the amazing pizza.

The guys were really nice. The pizza was pretty good. I just like thin crust. But the toppings were good quality and it was very tasty. I thought it was a little overpriced.

This place left me desiring for more. Placed an order that was 100$+ and definitely not worth it. I think ownership changed. Domino's would have been a better option. The canolies r store bought I believe.
This location is good for pizza, but only okay as far as Slice House franchises go. They don't have any of the pastas and the sausage barely had any honey. Slice House Franchises are definitely on the better end of pizza franchises, including this one, and if this was the only one in existence other than SF, I'd visit again due to convenience, but if I have a choice, I'm more likely to go to a different one.
I like to try specialty pizzas and this pizza seemed really good on paper. Unfortunately the pizza wasn't very good. Even my kids didn't like it. But, it's only one out of many to select from. So definitely gonna try the other flavors to give it a shot to increase my food rating. Great people and atmosphere though.
I haven’t been in a while, so I ordered a large pepperoni, sausage with garlic paste and pineapple on half. Got home and they only gave me half sausage- not sure why. Also, the pineapple was so thinly sliced it didn’t have any flavor. Very disappointing to say the least, this is definitely not like the Slice from SF. I probably won’t go back. Do you see No sausage 😞🤷♀️
Pizza: 3.5/5 Service: N/A Ambiance: N/A Overall: Decent slices overall. The extended review... Pizza: Wiseguy - 3.5/5 - A good pairing of sausage, pepperoni, and cheese. This would be the one I would go after again. Rosa - 3/5 - Sort of your basic pepperoni pizza. Pretty standard fare in my book. Service: N/A - Did take out. Ambiance: N/A - Did take out.

Order the large combo for takeout and one of the deep pan pizzas yesterday. Deep pan was great. The large combo was extremely salty and not crisp in any way as if the dough was soggy. We usually get great pizzas here and hope this is just a one time off.

To say I was disappointed would be a gross understatement. I live in Fremont and made the trip to their San Leandro location, as it was the nearest (14.9 miles). Walking in, the eating area carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed since Sunday, today was Wednesday. I've been in better kept truck stop in the middle of Nowhere California. For an eatery, it made a dark and dingy first impression. In the furthest end of the dining room, was one employee, taking walk in orders and prioritizing Door Dash and Instacart pick up orders. The kid was handling his business. With no other front-end employee present, I waited my turn. After the three walk-ins ahead of me finish ordering, I got to ask if the pizza slices in the case (by the front door, furthest point away from where orders are taken) where being offered for sale or just display? I asked, because every slice looked fake, like for display purposes. They advertised four different styles of pizza. In the case, all the slices appeared the same, tired. Learn from my experience, go to Costco..
We placed the order before store open at 11am, the app said the order will be ready by 11:30, and here we are standing all the way until 11:55am but still not ready. We were constantly told another 5 minutes and yet over and over the food is still not ready. Disappointed with the service at this location.
This was my first time eating here. I was in the mood for a margarita pizza, which they didn't have but suggested that I order one that is pretty much the same ad a margarita. I also order a veggie pizza. When I received my order I drove away but I couldn't wait to get home to try, so I tried the margarita, and to my surprise the Mozzarella was not even Slightly melted in fact it was still COLD!!! when I bit into it. The sauce was in lines and didn't cover even have the slice. This is my first and last time. I could have spent my $55 else where.

I had high hopes because of Tony's resume, but my slice experience left me wanting. The slice orders are pre-made then frozen and reheated. This shows in the texture of the dough and the overall quality, maybe they don't keep dates for how long the product was frozen but it seemed to be overdue. Plus the slice was served cool in temperature. The basil looked wilted and freezer burnt. The sauce Rocked. I had a Detroit style slice and the edge should be crispy & crunchy, but it was chewy with little crunch. I am reluctant to back come with friends to see how the a fresh pie turns out. My experience don't know what it's worth, but here it is...

Not sure what happened to this place, but it used to be so good! I recently ordered a pizza for take out and it was so dry, cold, and hard. Mind you, I live less than 5 minutes away and picked it up ON TIME. My family didn’t and couldn’t enjoy it! Even my toddler, who loves pizza, couldn’t eat it and left her slice untouched. Highly disappointed in the quality.
Waiting an hour for a slice is absolutely horrible service. Where do you get off even thinking that was ok. It's louder than a night club with food and trash dumped outside of the entrance. The closed bag of crab store next door probably has better and faster service. Not even a sign for an open bathroom so I hope you brought a bucket while you wither away waiting for food.
I placed my pick up order a hour ahead and arrived the store 10 mins before the pick up time. The waiter told me mine is scheduled at the exact time so I waited. Turns out my food is not ready until another additional 50 mins of wait. This is not my first time with Slice House but first time with this location. 0/10 do not recommend
