My husband and I love this place! The coffee and breakfast is out of this world! Everything is fresh and they use high quality ingredients at an affordable price. I loved the option of having brie cheese on our eggs! So yummy! We loved that there was even a patio for us to sit at with our dog. A true gem hidden in the heart of Paso Robles.
I enjoyed this place two days in a row! It’s an impressive and heartfelt one-woman show with a comfortable atmosphere and WiFi that is a bit hard to find in the area. There are a variety of breakfast options, like the gluten free egg sandwich with brie and sausage in the picture, nice looking baked goods (some GF options), range of coffee options (including chai and matcha lattes). Glad to find this place!
My wife and I stopped by this place this weekend for a snack. It's a nice place run by a super-friendly owner. We got a tasty organic sandwich and hot chocolate with organic whipped cream. We will revisit it when we have a chance!

I am absolutely in love with the quinoa breakfast bowl which is a perfect gluten free opt for me. So delicious, nutritious, and filling. It's my go-to meal here and so grateful to be able to do take out as a busy educator working at the school across the street. I get tired of making lunches and I will be a regular here! Andy is always so friendly and gracious.
How wonderful to have an entirely organic cafe with amazing coffee and so many healthy options. Definitely try the the green chilli lasagna, the Italian burger with grass fed beef, provolone and caramelized onions, and ALL of the fresh baked cookies--they rival those of Levain Bakery in NYC. The service is welcoming and warm, space is cozy and immaculately clean. Such a bonus for this neighborhood!
First time in the Lake Nacimiento area, stopped by for a quick bite. The Farmhouse Panini is a MUST have. The lemonade is fantastic, and you can get it in different flavors. You just can't beat organic food either. Definitely recommend!!!!
This was a great place to stop for a bite to eat. They had many healthy options and very good coffee. We really enjoyed stopping here for burgers on our road trip! Delicious and a very cute place to sit and hang out for bit!
We have loved going to orange cat for delicious breakfasts (my husband loves their mocha) but we just went for the first time for lunch and had the best grass fed bacon brie burger! We will definitely be continuing to go back every time we are at the lake!
My friend and I were driving from the Bay Area to LA and, not being pressed for time, took an impromptu right turn after Kings City toward Lake Nacimiento--no waypoints in mind, just knowing we should keep heading south-by-southwest. We pulled onto Heritage Loop Road out of curiosity--and not knowing when we'd have another chance to fill up our half-empty tank--and wandered into Orange Cat for some caffeine and snacks. What a lovely surprise! The owner was charming and warm, the cookies (baked by his wife) were enormous and delicious (not too sweet, but rich all the same), and we were honestly sad to leave.
I'm not much for Organic food, but it was very good. The owners were very nice the place is very clean and they have a big variety of sandwiches, not bad at all,for I'm not a Organic person. My sister inlaw Mary was also very pleased with the service and the food.
It’s only my 2nd time here and the gentleman behind the counter was extremely nice and accommodating. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and they were phenomenal. Their pastries looked amazing as well, I’ll definitely be coming back regularly.
The turkey avacado sandwich was delicious and topped it off with an amazing peanut butter cookie. Very nice people working there too. They were right there with a bowl of water for the dog. Will be back soon.
Love this place so much! Andy and Tamara always greet us with a smile and always have the best conversations :) Everything we’ve tried on the menu has been absolutely amazing! Keep up the good work!!

The food is surprisingly good and the service is great. Not a place to sit and eat, although it's an option, technically. Call in an order for pick up and you'll likely be happy with it
This cafe has some really good burritos and sandwiches! But I come very rarely because the prices are a bit high for the size and quality of product. If I’m alone and want to treat myself I might stop. My interactions with the staff (and I assume owner) when I have had children with me has been less than pleasant. The owners seem genuinely invested in delivering a good product. In food service though atmosphere is often recalled over the commodity and in that realm they just fall short.
The owner definitely had some attitude. When we arrived, we saw that the unlocked door was displaying a "Closed" sign but the owner came outside to tell us that she is not open until the "Closed" sign is turned around to display "Open" -- that seemed pretty obvious to our group and didn't require that detailed of an explanation as we did not try to enter the business. Upon the sign being flipped around and officially opening several minutes past the posted opening time of 9 AM according to another sign (of which we also read), one of my group tried to order something from the menu to which the owner said, "Did you see the sign?" -- this being a handwritten sign that said the kitchen isn't in service until 9:30 AM. Wow! One of our riders missed that sign! Never been to a restaurant/cafe that opened it's doors prior to the kitchen being ready to prepare food. Our riding group won't be coming back. Everywhere else we went on our week-long 2,300 mile motorcycle ride had service with a smile, our business appreciated, and they were rated appropriately. Update: Thank you for responding and I appreciate your honesty. I am normally pleasant with everyone regardless how things start out. You are correct that the other two riders have been there before and I'm aware kitchens will close earlier than the posted closing time -- but not the opening time. That was a first for me. First impressions are important and this one got off on the wrong foot. To that end, I'll try it again if and when I'm in the area and hopefully at a time when everything is operational inside.
I really want to like this place! I waited a long time throughout multiple visits to post this opinion. For starters, it's been two times now where I have showed up a few minutes before posted opening hours and waited for them to open. TWICE the store employee then showed up at the posted time and changed the opening time on the door to an hour later and left. This is unacceptable and makes me not trust that they will be open when they say they will. They did earn a star in my eyes as the food is very good. I have had a breakfast burrito and panini, both of which were tasty. Coffee and other drinks are in my opinion extremely overpriced and below average quality. Coffee is very bland and for $8.50 you can have a very small milkshake that tastes like chalk. As a lake resident I would love this Café to be a weekly stop of mine, maybe one day they will step it up.

Four of us ate at Orange cat yesterday. Not only was one of our orders incorrect but the person preparing the food kept his gloves on as he rang up another customer and then returned to preparing our food. He also handled his eye glasses and touched non sterile surfaces while plating our food. We won't return. Also for the price the sandwiches should come with a small side.
Tried the food last year and the potatoes were raw in my breakfast burrito, but since it had good reviews I thought I'd give it another shot. The coffee is very disappointing. Mine tasted like just steamed milk which was supposed to be a mocha and my wife tasted just like syrup with no coffee at all. 13 dollars for 2 coffees that went to the trash. Save your money don't go here. Thanks for the response. Not everyone has the time of day to go all the way back to the lake to fix a drink that should be drinkable in the first place. The price wasn't the point the point is what of waste of money it was.
I've been here multiple times. The food used to be good but it's gone downhill, the service is absolutely terrible and the owners are extremely rude. On our most recent visit, they ORDERED US not to stand at the counter to look at the menu despite the fact that this is a "walk up" establishment. We spent $175 on 8 (yes eight) sandwiches and waters. It unfortunate because I would love to support any local business in the Heritage community. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
prices are way to high for the horrible service you get, the food is okay but i’ve definitely had better! For work I try out small business cafes and this was by far my worst. Although my work does pay for my gas, however I drove 2 hours to be extremely disappointed. Honestly they would be such and amazing cafe if the service wasn’t bad, I felt so uncomfortable and unwelcomed. everyone has their own opinions and their are a lot of great reviews unfortunately it just wasn’t for me!!
