This is a wonderful Mexican restaurant with flavorful, well-prepared dishes and a welcoming atmosphere. Everything tastes fresh, from the salsas, great homemade chips to the main courses, and the portions are generous without being overwhelming. The menu offers a great balance of classic favorites and house specialties, so there’s something for everyone. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the service makes you feel comfortable and unhurried. It’s a place we look forward to returning to and would happily recommend to anyone looking for good, authentic Mexican food.

Stopped by La Esquina Taqueria while visiting SLO and really enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere is casual and inviting—perfect for a relaxed meal. I ordered the fajitas and enchiladas, and both were delicious. The fajitas came out sizzling and full of flavor, and the enchiladas were cheesy, comforting, and well-balanced. The homemade chips were a standout—fresh, crispy, and perfect with their house salsas. Service was friendly and fast, and everything tasted super fresh. Definitely planning to come back next time I’m in town!

Loved the food and atmosphere. The staff was friendly and we were able to make reservations via email the day before. My mother's a strict and picky vegetarian and she devoured the vegetarian enchiladas. The sweet and spicy shrimp tacos were the best recommendation from the server. The fish dish was also a super hit. Everything on the menu and the drinks are amazing. Great back patio as well- would be ideal for a small get-together/ party.

Awesome Mexican food place in SPO. Great homemade chips, awesome vibe and attentive staff. It’s a little on the higher end, but the flavors made it worth it. Fantastic enchiladas with a lot of flavor. Mojito was refreshing and good, queso was pretty good as well. Good place to give a try.

I got the margarita and 1 taco deal with a side of rice and beans. Total came out to be around $35 with tax and tip which is not too bad. Margarita was super fresh and everything tasted really good! The chips and salsa were delicious as well, some of the best tortilla chips in my opinion. I love the atmosphere as well, hopefully will be going back soon.

Amazing! So glad we found you! We moved to the area and have been seriously looking for an upscale Mexican restaurant with amazing food and margaritas - La Esquina is it! We knew from the moment the chips and salsa came with our amazing margaritas that we were in for a fantastic meal. They didn't disappoint. The wait staff were very friendly and did an excellent job of asking questions of us before recommending and their suggestions were spot on. We will be back again and again! Thank you.

What an amazing restaurant. The service was top notch and the food was delicious. The red snapper melted in my mouth. If you're ever in San Luis Obispo this a place to stop for some really good chill and grub time.

Went on a Saturday night, the restaurant was busy but the wait was short. They will text you when your table is ready so you can wander nearby, there is an arcade across the street that is a nice place to wait. The atmosphere is lively and the staff attentive. I could have filled up on the complimentary chips and enjoyed the papaya salad. Nice place to linger enjoying company, food, and good vibes.

Cool spot. Walked in on a Monday night for a team dinner around 6pm. We were seated immediately and served by a very energetic waiter happy to answer all our questions and make sure we got what we needed. The place was spacious with a mix of bar height tables and traditional tables. Very clean with good music and live sports on the TV. The food was pretty good. Good flavors, decent portions and large variety. Would definitely come back for a similar occasion.

We had the prawn enchiladas and beef fajitas and they were absolutely wonderful. Everything was flavorful and perfectly prepared especially the beef Our waitress anne was incredibly friendly and attentive, and her assistant Kyle kept us laughing while making sure our glasses were never empty. The service felt genuine and smooth At one point I spilled shrimps on my shirt because I’m apparently still five years old, and the manager immediately noticed and brought me a steamed towel to get the stain out and it worked. 🙃 Overall it was a fantastic experience and we will definitely be back.

I really love this place. It’s upscale and always busy when I visit. It’s best to make a reservation if you are going in the evening, especially on a weekend. I’ve eaten here several times. It’s really great for date night or a special occasion. I always get great and friendly service here. It is a little pricey but has great options on the menu and good specials to try as well. They have a cocktail list, but have a full bar, so you don’t have to go with the menu. I will definitely be back again!

This is a large restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. We enjoyed all of our food and drinks. It’s kid-friendly!

Pretty typical Mexican. Bustling atmosphere. Guy at front putting us at table was snarky but waiter good. We didn’t linger. I think it’s more of a margarita big group kind of place.

I can’t speak on the quality of the food outside of the queso dip because that’s all we got but I definitely would not get it again. It was like congealed velveeta and my colon is going to suffer for days from that cement. It bloated me so badly I had to end the night early and go home. The margs weren’t good either- sub par at best. $54 for two margs and queso at this quality just wasn’t worth it with so many other good restaurants around.

Too expensive for the food served, surf and turf had little to no taste.. Tacos were also no good, dry lack taste. Salas were the only thing I actually enjoyed and the salad was also good.

I was very disappointed in the food. Salsas were bland. I ordered a chile releno and it was flat as a pancake, thin egg coating and the dish was drenched in a salty tomatillo salsa. Pricey for one chile, beans and rice $8, really. Not authentic at all.
