Sequel Tea

As a person who has tried every single boba store in SLO, Sequel Tea is the greatest boba place. Their Dark Roast Hojicha drink is the greatest thing ever and is truly a gift to mankind. I can't even imagine my life without Sequel Tea. I get Sequel like 5 times a week. Sequel is great. The workers are goated. The drinks are fire. The boba is fire. Everything here is fire. I've never ever had one bad experience with Sequel. Actually, all of my experiences with Sequel have never been below amazing. The drinks look as good as they taste (which is BOMB). Their service is quick. They are just so W.

I look forward to being able to get boba on Mondays and Wednesdays on campus every week. All the student staff members are always so polite and sweet (just like Sequel’s boba). I can’t wait for them to have a storefront on campus next year!!!

My favorite place by far to get Boba! All the staff there are super friendly and are on top of everything! I've been drinking thier boba since i saw them at the slo's farmers market over a year ago, its so cool to see them open thier own buisness and make some bomb drinks! Every drink i've tried there so far has been amazing and I always look forward to my next drink when I go to Sequel 😊

One of the best boba places at SLO with lots of different flavors. Their tea and boba is high-quality too. The only con is that it is on the expensive side for boba (around $8-9 for a boba milk tea) so I can’t get it all the time while on campus. But there is a demand for authentic boba at SLO so I guess the price makes sense 🤷‍♀️

Loved this pop-up and the people! Really impressed by how much Sequel strives to improve their drinks and puts out new stuff for the pop-up. Mango white peach with cream top is the best drink.

This place is amazing. Can honestly say they set a new standard for me for boba. I literally come here every week for their drinks and for most especially, KENNY. HE IS THE BEST :)

Let me just say this. I walked to this tea stand. My heart and life dreams in tow. As I approached the inspiring tent of white, I was spiritually assaulted by chewy balls of perfection and liquid joy. Texturally impeccable. Somewhere between a soft pillow and a firm handshake. Not too mushy, not too hard. Just like most people’s standards. I ordered the thai milk tea, one sip and I was ready to drop out of cal poly and devote my life to boba enlightenment.

If you haven’t already go try sequel . It’s amazing drinks with amazing customer service. I have tried everything on the menu and there isn’t a single drink I don’t like. Plus new drinks come out every season too. I always look forward to seeing what drink will come out next .

We love this the boba at this shop, it’s hands down the best in SLO. The Korean banana milk is our go-to favorite. Thank you to the staff who always take care of us!

THE BEST BOBA, 10/10 would recommend. I have been a huge fan of Sequel Tea ever since they started their pop-ups and it has been amazing to see them grow! I think this is the only business in SLO that I am super excited about that I have no personal connect to, because their product is genuinely just that incredible. Their ingredients feel fresh and high-quality and I love their flavors, ranging from hojicha and matcha, to creme-brulee and banana milk. As an indecisive person, something I have really appreciated is their willingness to mix their flavors to create new combinations. Not sure if you want creme brulee or banana milk? Combine them! When I first moved to SLO, there were a couple of boba spots, but none were really hitting the spot for me until Sequel Tea came along. I have loved living in SLO, but one thing I really missed was having quality asian food and flavors, so having Sequel Tea here greatly improved my quality of life and has made me feel more at home. They also have incredible service and it feels like all of their team members care about their business and are invested in the experience they are providing.

Seriously one of the best boba places in SLO. It’s always fresh, high quality, and they freaking make sure the drinks are the same every time (they use a scale). Whenever I had a wrong order (which has only happened twice) they are so quick to fix it. And the nicest staff I’ve met. Thank you for your dedication to freshness, quality, and care.

Sequel Tea is hands down one of the best drink companies I’ve come across. Their teas are incredibly fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Beyond the great taste, their customer service truly stands out, friendly, responsive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a smooth and satisfying experience. It’s rare to find a brand that delivers both amazing products and such genuine care for their customers. Highly recommend!

I didn’t like boba, tea, milk tea, or anything like that before being forced to try sequel. Now I’m hooked!! I still don’t really like other milk teas from other places, but Justin’s team at Sequel make it something I look forward to every week. They always use high quality tea and the cold brew makes it much easier to drink. Kristen is always so nice and Zoe and Kenny make us feel like we’re coming home every time we come in. Definitely try this local place out, or don’t (if you dislike great drinks and great service.)

Best strawberry matcha I’ve had outside of LA!!! They use real strawberries and quality matcha and it definitely makes a difference. Bonus that you can get boba too!

Oh my gosh!! Best boba shop around! Sweet, they got it. Fresh house-made boba, they got it. With an open-kitchen style operation, you get to see everything happening. They don’t do things by feel around here, everything is weighed out to the very gram. Special shout-out to Kenny, for making this such an enjoyable experience.

I came from NorCal, visited for 4 days and came back each day because I loved the drink. I got the strawberry uji matcha, Thai tea cream top, roasted oolong cream top, Dark roast hojicha cream top. All of the drink were amazing. You could really taste the tea in all of the drinks and it was the perfect sweetness. It was also super creamy. The boba was also really soft and chewy different from others. But if I would have to say the Dark roast hojicha cream top was my favorite. I would 10/10 recommend sequel if you are in the slo area! They also have a booth at the slo farmers market!

This is my second time going to Sequel for tea. They have so many flavors to choose from, but I really like the Thai tea with cream top and the the banana matcha toffee with cream and boba. Our drinks came out quick. Kenny was really helpful at finally helping us make a decision on what to order. Amazing tea... almost dessert experience. We will definitely be back.

Sequel tea is a new up and coming craft boba tea store in SLO, located in the back of SLO Public Market. Known for quality boba and LA or Bay Area standard boba tea in SLO, it is definitely one of the best if not the best boba shop in SLO. If you are on campus, they also have pick-up via doordash at cal poly for students who are craving it but don’t have a car. They also have a storefront during farmers if you are craving it during late night or just want a drink then. They have a variety of drinks ranging from craft milk teas to specialty drinks such as mango coconut crema or korean banana milk. You can customize anything you want and even get oat milk when you can. 10/10 would recommend if you need your boba plug in central coast!

i recently visited and tried out one of their specials (the blueberry matcha, with oat milk and no boba) and wanted to highlight how fantastic it tasted. if i’m not mistaken, the blueberry syrup seemed to be made in house and was really tasty ! the staff seemed a little stressed during my visit (as it was a busy friday night) but were kind regardless and finished my order without much of a wait. i only hope for the success of this establishment and am eager to try another drink from them again soon 🫐🍵🧋

Top notch Service! Excellent Staff Super Friendly and Attentive Towards Perspective Customers. Operation only limited to lack of designated seating. Seriously Visit This Place While You're looking at what you want to eat in the amazing European style food court! The Staff always do right by the customer.

I got an Ube/taro drink without boba and the guy didn’t even mix it. It was basically just flavor mix on the bottom and milk on top. I tried mixing it myself but it didnt really work. Everyone seems to love this place, so maybe it is only bad if you get a drink without boba. Like maybe the boba makes the drink easier to mix? Either way I couldn’t drink it. So maybe be cautious about drinking a drink with no boba.
