Fuego Grill delivered a really enjoyable dining experience overall, and I’d definitely go back. The tacos were imaginative, with unique flavor combinations that showed creativity and care in the kitchen. They were tasty, fresh, and clearly made with quality ingredients. But the real standout? The corn tortillas. Absolutely phenomenal — soft, warm, and packed with flavor. You can tell they’re handmade with love, and they elevated every taco they wrapped. Honestly, I’d come back just for those alone. The reason for the four stars instead of five is simply that while everything was good, nothing quite hit the “blow-your-mind” level across the board. But if you’re in the mood for well-crafted tacos and some of the best corn tortillas you’ll find anywhere, Fuego Grill is absolutely worth the stop.

I stayed at the Best Western next to this restaurant and, due to convenience, stopped in for dinner. The Fuel for Fitness was excellent - exactly what I was looking for after a day of airline flights. The meal had just the right amount of 'heat,' not real hot, just right. This was my first visit to Fuego - and I subsequently returned the following day for another Fuel for Fitness bowl to take to-go (as per attached photo) back to the hotel. If you haven't been here, I recommend stopping by. You order at the service desk, receive a number, and then have the food delivered to your table. Service was prompt. The food was fresh and tasty. The price is very reasonable - the bowl of food is quite large - very filling. I will certainly stop by again the next time I visit San Marcos!

This was my wife and my first visit to Fuego and we were beyond impressed. We tried a total of 8 different tacos, which is only about a third of their menu. Every one of them was made fresh, delicious and tasted completely different from the last. The restaurant was super clean and the employees were extremely friendly and helpful. We loved everything about our experience and we will definitely be back to try another 8 tacos. Update: Ordered 18 tacos, queso and tortilla soup today 8/12/2022, and everything was fantastic!

We spent the morning floating the river and were hungry for lunch. My daughter said Fuego was popular with the college kids so we gave it a try. Not too crowded when we arrived at 1:15 on a Saturday. You order at the counter and then find a table. I read several reviews of tge food before we ordered and saw that everyone said the tacos were large. But my family eats a lot and we were hungry. We each ordered 2 tacos. I took one bite of my second taco and wrapped it up to take home. Out of the 10 tacos we ordered, we took almost 4 of them home. We did also order chips and queso. My daughter had compared them to Torchy’s tacos in size but they were so much larger. They have a condiment bar for you to get your own Pico, salsas, onion, cilantro, lime… water cups were also available. Now for the tacos - chicken and waffles - it was definitely a meal in itself. Large waffle, 2 chicken tenders, eggs and bacon. It also came with maple syrup. My son separated the ingredients and ate only half of it with one tortilla. He ate the rest of it separately. It could have made 2 tacos easily. Flavor was delicious also. My husband a Fuego steak and said the steak was very moist and flavorful. Magic mushroom - son liked how the mushrooms were fried because it gave a good contrast to the texture. Hippie came on a corn tortilla with creamed corn and guacamole and lots of chicken. I ordered the Rock Star and the Sweet Caroline. The Rock Star was delicious. Lots of different flavors with the mushrooms, creamed corn , fried avocado and beef. I also added some Pico and some chips every now and then for a crunch. I didn’t care for the Sweet Caroline as much. The DrPepper bbq sauce was too sweet for me and it also has creamed corn which made it even sweeter. I also didn’t like the texture of the pulled pork. It was too soft. This is the one I took home. Maybe later when I am hungry again I will like it more. The staff was all very nice and someone came around frequently to take out our trash. Will definitely go there again. Great value for your money. Chicken and waffle taco was only $4.89 and the beef tacos were $5.99. If you only ordered 1 taco like a normal person, you could spend less than $10 for your meal.

The service and atmosphere are absolutely amazing!!! For the most part they keep it clean and the bar of toppings well stocked. The queso and chips were good - queso was thick with a good flavor. The food however…sigh!!! The tortilla was soft and very good…however; the inner fillings left a lot of room for improvement. This is not a place for authentic Mexican food at all - moreso a place for craft items. The restaurant itself is feeling its age a little. It could be kept up a little better as the floors and some tables needing some attention. The staff were not overly friendly but they weren’t rude either. The tacos come in some unique flavors and are really good. The queso is a must have as well. It’s always a fun stop when passing through town.

We enjoyed the food, the service and the atmosphere. The sauces are way over and they create a bit of a mess while you're trying to eat the sandwich. One star less. That's always my issue with Fuego. Maybe it's just the way they want their food to be but it is hard to manage eating them. Also, we feel having too much sauce takes away from tasting the food itself. Parking is plenty and free. The service was excellent and we didn't have to wait. The place is clean and organized. Easily accessible from the highway which is how we spotted it.

Food tasty but the mac n cheese I had to drain as sauce was excessive had to ask waitress to bring me chips which she brought but no salsa. Went to register to ask for it. Salsa good but watery and not spicy at all. Steak qusadilla very delicious and no complaints there. Overall 3 stars.

First time trying this place. The person who took my order was very friendly. I ordered the steak taco -- it was bad. The steak tasted like it was preseasoned, cubed up and then frozen packed and shipped to the restaurant. It didnt taste fresh at all. I am not saying it is not fresh and processed/cooked at the restaurant-- it just didnt taste like it. The potatoes in the steak taco were undercooked slightly and had zero flavor. The queso was super runny and caused my tortilla to be soggy when I opened it. Mind you I traveled 5 mins from Restaurant to where I was going to eat. I also ordered the breakfast taco - I think it was the Fuego Deluxe. This taco was something else. It was overstuffed. Way too much queso. Tortilla was soggy, Eggs had zero flavor. I didnt even eat it. This was my first experience with them and i defintely would prefer a million other places this but that is me. I dont want to discourage anyone from trying this place themselves-- hopefully yall have a better experience than I did.

Absolutely disgusting. After ordering your food and sitting down, it was obvious that the entire dining area was filthy, including all tables, the condiment's buffet, and the drink station. I can only imagine how dirty the kitchen was as well... San Marcus TX Health and Environmental Services should definitely inspect this restaurant head to toe. Avoid this place if you're turned off by filth and unsanitary conditions.
