This place was BUSY but they were still quick! For once a place was very reasonably priced and large servings. Order at the counter, get your number, and grab a table if you can find one. They will bring the food. Ranch is extra but it's a decent amount and delicious. I got the 2x2 burger no tomatoes and grilled onions and it was delicious. Onion rings were amazing. My mom got the zucchini fries and she said they were good but said my onion rings were better.

Money Pit is my go-to stop whenever work takes me up the 78 through North County. If I’m heading out for appointments in Escondido, Oceanside, or San Marcos, I make it a point to hop off the freeway and fuel up here. The drive-thru is fast, the food selection is solid, and they make it easy to get in and out without slowing down your day. When you’re running a mobile business and your schedule is stacked, places that respect your time are everything. The staff is usually younger, fun, and outgoing, which always makes the stop a little more enjoyable. As the owner of BLING EM RIM REPAIR, a mobile rim repair and wheel repair company serving all of North County San Diego, I spend a lot of time on the road helping customers fix curb rash, scuffed wheels, and damaged rims right at their home or office. Having reliable spots like Money Pit nearby makes those long service days run smoother. If you’re looking for a quick, convenient bite near the 78 freeway in Escondido, this place is definitely worth the stop. Great food, fast service, and perfect for anyone on the move.
I love how fresh their food is and the pricing is amazing. Do not let the name fool. You and their prices are amazing. Also, if you die in it's so close to see how original this place is with all the movie posters and the time and effort to keep this business going is so fun to see
Since first trying Money Pit while working on a house nearby I've been hooked. I decide to infect others so I've brought my wife, daughters, and nephews to come try it and they agree BOMB! Every burger I've had has been delicious with all fresh ingredients. You would think it would be pricier than their competition but man are they affordable. Price to value no one's coming close IMHO. I'll be back probably tomorrow just because it's rare I'm out this way often and Im working down the street again! I apologize to the people who wanted to keep this spot a hidden gem but I need a money Pit down in South San Diego!

Wonderful comfort food. Arrived just before the lunch rush and received incredibly fast service. Literally one minute. I’ve had better tasting shakes and burgers but for the price and service, this place appears to be top notch!
If you love heat, this place is a must-try. The hot dogs are great on their own, but the spicy add-ons take them to another level. The jalapeño relish, spicy aioli, and chili-infused toppings pack serious flavor without drowning out the taste of the dog itself. Every bite had the perfect balance of heat and deliciousness.

Inexpensive, big portions, tasty, great service, clean restaurant and restrooms, full of character…. I LOVE this place! I had a Greek Tavern salad with chicken. The Greek dressing is Delicious! The chicken was seasoned and moist. The tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese….everything was fresh and nice sized portions.

It's an excellent spot with a great atmosphere! Think 50s diner vibes, but smaller and faster! The walls are covered in old movie posters, the tables are uniquely decorated (one table looks like an active monopoly game!) and they play nostalgic music. This place is a gem and it's worth a visit for sure!
Great prices, and the food was much better than I expected. Better than going to any fast food chain. I’ve been here three times already, the portions are filling, and I haven’t gotten sick. I tried a similar burger place nearby, but it wasn’t as good as this one, and I had a stomach ache the next day. This place is great. Every time I’ve visited, it’s been pretty busy, but the service has been good whether I dined inside or went through the drive-thru. I love the Avocado Burger, Chili Cheese Hot Dog, and Chili Cheese Fries.
Came from Arizona l, It has been about 12 Years since I had Money Pit and when I ate there again it felt like old memories. Food is awesome you won't be disappointed.
Tasty fast food at a good price, less than $40 for a family of four! The foods are consistently delicious with friendly staffs, prompt service, clean restrooms, and amazing decorative walls and tables for a great eat out. They also has a drive thru option but it usually long line of cars:)
Great prices! You can spend under $10, or if you wanna go all out and treat yourself you can spend $10-20. My first time here and I ordered the Patty Melt with thousand island and it was delicious! My partner ordered the Triple Mess Melt. We shared the Combo Platter (deep fried zucchini, onion rings, fries, and mushrooms). The seasoning on the fries - delicious. My favorite part of the basket? The fried zuchinni - yum! My partner grew up in San Marcos and has been here hundreds of times and continues to love it. My first time here and it will definitely be one of those places I take family when they come to visit. The amount of pop culture memorabilia on the walls (all money related of course), and the money theme crafted table tops make it a dine in experience must :) Bonus: very tasty ranch.
My husband had been talking about this place for the longest time. My daughter had a soccer game down here and we took advantage to take the family. The customer service was great, they even cleaned a big table for us (yay). I got the avocado burger and my husband also got the same one. I loved the taste of the burger, it was so unique with a special sauce. The fries were super good as well. My son who is autistic loves fries and the moment he tried the fries from Money Pit he said mommy these are the “best”. They have a drive thru as well but we preferred to enjoy them inside. We will definitely be coming back.
My son had blast time just looking and checking each table out, counting and seeing decorations. Food is so delicious and dont get me started on prices, its just amazing. It also has drive through and lot of people choose to take it home but inside in incredible to check it out

I ordered the Bacon Avo Cheese Burger with French fries to go. The burger was alright. Fries were not good (bad oil). Dining area is very big.
We went for lunch today It was good. We had the BLT and The Mess and fries. Side note the onion rings are made by hand... They serve a full breakfast and lunch menu including salads, burgers, sandwiches and wraps. They have a drive thru and ample indoor seating that is well spaced apart masks are required inside. The service was great fast and everything was hot and delicious. The veggies were super fresh and the tomatoes were juicy and ripe. They have really good french fries, they are crispy and well seasoned. This was a win for me!

Even the regular hamburger so tasty and juicy. They use fresh lettuce and tomatoes all the time. It's very affordable too because they have combo meal with fries and drinks already. Such a great place to hang out with friends, lunch with co-workers, on a date, or just simply eating a meal with family. There's a lot of things to see while your eating. They have nice exhibits of movie posters and monetary currency of other countries. Employees are friendly too.

about 2 or 3 months ago, I was looking for a new place to eat. so I drove out of my way thru miles of fog/marine layer and I always saw this place off the 78 and was interested and got outta my car to have a safe meal inside. well I must have had the wrong idea because the cashier and all his team members were trying to get out early so he told me "TO GO ORDERS ONLY". I was really looking forward to spending the next 10 minutes out of the fog and enjoying my spicy chicken sando in this rad location but apparently the whole crew didn't like this idea. yeah I arrived at 9:25, but store hours are store hours for a reason. I was incredibly disappointed in the lack of service. I mean there's no way I wasn't gonna enjoy the meal in the crazy ambiance of that restaurant. but some employees don't really care about the service they provide.
