Pan Asia Grill Sushi Buffet in San Marcos… listen carefully, because I don’t hype places unless they earn it. I walked in, paid $19 for lunch, and immediately thought, “okay, let’s see if this is another average buffet pretending to be something special.” I’m extremely picky. If it’s trash, I’ll say it straight. No mercy. First impression — solid. Clean, organized, no chaos. Salad section? Surprisingly fresh. Not the sad, tired lettuce you see in most buffets. Real crisp greens, good toppings, fresh fruit, and desserts that actually look edible, not like they survived since 2007. Now sushi at lunch… let’s be honest. It’s decent, but nothing that will change your life. It’s buffet sushi — acceptable, clean, but I’m not flying to Tokyo over it. HOWEVER… I already see the potential. I heard dinner brings out the heavy artillery — lobster, crab legs — so that’s the real battlefield, and I’ll be back to test that. But here’s where Pan Asia becomes dangerous. The Hawaiian BBQ / hibachi grill station. This is the crown jewel. You pick your meat, pick your vegetables, hand it to the chef, and he cooks it fresh right in front of you like a professional assassin. I went with hibachi steak, and my God… absolutely incredible. Perfectly cooked, juicy, flavorful, fresh — not buffet quality, restaurant quality. This alone destroys the $19 price. Completely unfair value. Bottom line — for lunch, this place already punches above its weight. Fresh food, huge selection, and that hibachi grill makes it worth the trip by itself. Sushi is decent at lunch, but I can already tell dinner is where they go full boss mode. I don’t praise easily. But Pan Asia Grill earned respect. I’ll be back for dinner to see if they reach full domination.
Food was delicious. Its a bit on the pricey side but they have salad, sushi, hibachi, Asian cuisine!! Lots to oick from, its worth it.
Been eating here for years. Come here for lunch (before 4 pm)if you want to spend less I think it's about $18. $25 for dinner prices last time I was there. You can't beat that price for all you can eat, esp with the sushi!! Also their strawberry sauce by the ice cream machine is to DIE FOR. Not sure if it's made in house or not, but I've never had anything like it. This being one of the only buffets--Chinese or otherwise --that I know of in North county, I will keep coming here and recommending it to people. Worfh paying for, staff is always helpful and quick the food quality hasn't changed in the 6/7 years I've been coming here. Restrooms are towards the far right when you walk in, and also there is usually ample seating available when I visit.
As a solo diner, I am comfortable dining at Pan Asia. I enjoy everything I take and eat what I take. I never load my dish - because I enjoy seeing the food, which is part of the enjoyment of dining and like eye-candy. Plus, if I want more, I get up and get more. Lot's of *I* but solo is Me, Myself, and I.
This is my place to go for a variety of good quality, tasting food. Their lunch is value city. I come for the spicy beef tendon. Must try! The dinner is on point: My go toys are: 1.Sashimi sushi 🍣 2. Snow crabs 3. Seafood boil cajun/creole style with crayfish, shrimp, sausage & corn on the cob. 4. Simple salad bar but does the job 5. SOUPS (seafood soup, egg drop & hot & sour) 6. Steamed classic, but I like the broth as a soup 7. Cheesy croissant ( I saw a lady stuff it with ice cream, pudding, something creamy) The staff here are stellar 5 star 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟🌟 Super hospitable!! I definitely recommend trying this place out. WARNING !!!! You may get addicted... Shout out to Yan, Kiki, Kimberly, & Julie Thank you ladies for keeping us coming back.
This is a great buffet. I've gone there every year for the past 7 years .. it's my mom's favorite place so it's basically a birthday tradition for her. We always live it here because the food is fresh and there is so many options. Everyone is so nice and helpful. They are very attentive to you whether you need something or simply picking up your plate when you finish. The variety of food is amazing from crab legs to steak and many many more. The price is also very agreeable because it's not expensive for the amount of options you get. Definitely recommend if you want to give your family options.
honestly a really good buffet for the price you pay. i’ve been going here since my childhood and they have definitely improved since then. they have a decent variety of food and for $30 pp you can definitely stretch that a long way. they offer a hibachi station, lots of good seafood, and many other “healthier” options if that’s what you’re looking for. service is very good with the staff being attentive. i recommend this buffet if you have an appetite built up and you’re in the san marcos area.
The Hibachi station was a highlight, but the sushi was just decent. The desserts were pretty good, with some great variety options. The staff was fantastic. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience – I'd definitely go back for the Hibachi!
Great Buffet. Nice variety of quality foods. The Hibachi was great! Everything was on point. Lots of vegetables in every dish. The sushi was good, and so are the deserts. About $21 a person on weekdays after tip and tax
Been looking for a good Chinese buffet and of course standards aren’t always high at these kind of places. I saw that some of the reviews said they were really rude here but honestly, as someone who has traveled all across Asia, it’s pretty normal for restaurants not to be super nice or what not to you. It’s not authentic and in Asia they don’t work for tips because they don’t accept free money like that. So when I face rudeness at an Asian restaurant is doesn’t bother me as long as the food is good. The spread at this place had so much! They had a hibachi grill, the sushi selection was so fresh! Actually all the seafood was fresh! The rolls too! The chicken wings were nice and crisp! Perfect! The meats were okay I thought the octopus was over cooked a bit but still good. And the desert was delicious! They all tasted super high quality. The marshmallow I dipped in the chocolate fountain was magical! So delicious and fun! Their ice cream was also really good with a great variety of topping! 10 out of 10 will be back!
This buffet was great! It was very busy when we went, but they got us a table almost right away. They have a great variety of food, including a hibachi area. Food kept coming in hot and well prepared. The waiters were on top of keeping clean and being there to refill drinks. Would definitely come back!
I was shocked at how good this place was. I typically go to another Asian buffet and it's about $27 a person. This place was about $10 cheaper. Very clean as well. The staff was on top of clearing the plates and the tables never were messy looking. Everyone there was so nice too. I am a big fan of good customer service and this place has it. The people are very friendly. The fish was fresh there and the sushi was tasty. I love the dessert selection.
We went there for the first time on mother's day. Even with the crowd the wait wasn't too long and well worth it!! The food was delish!! Lot's of variety and clean. Friendly staff. Great prices for the food. We will for sure be coming back!!

Came in around 7:30 on a Wednesday night, got seated right away without problems. Food was alright for a buffet house, nothing too crazy, but was enough to hit the spot. Had a “Mongolian” bbq type station where you can try a few different combinations of toppings with different types of meats. Lacked a variety of options for the normal buffet as everything almost looked the same or tasted near the same. Would I go out of my way to have this weekly? No. Maybe monthly if I’m in the area but overall it’s not bad for an average Chinese buffet.
Sword of a madhouse in here at times. However the food was great. Chairs end tables are packed in kind of a little hard to maneuver. Would be nice if there was a little direction on where to go seems like everyone just gets in line and goes down the line. Left stuffed for a good price. A little bit better table service when I came in this a five star.
One of the popular buffet restaurants in North County. Located in the busy shopping area, close to Costco. Parking close by could be an issue but they do have ample parking if you are okay with 5 mins walk. Food here is okay. The place is packed so it can look very chaotic. But it is a buffet and it's popular, so it is a good thing. Most of the food actually tastes good. Some were hit and miss. Overall, I would recommend this place.
Buffet, not too bad pretty good. They had some delicious dishes avaliable. Teriyaki Chicken had to be the best... but I don't know. They were all generally good. They had decent sushi and hibachi too. Actually the hibachi was sub par. I swear they just had plain spaghetti noodles. The cleanliness of the place...I wouldn't write home to mom about though. The atmosphere could be much better. A lady bumped into me and became an instant KAREN. Like you bumped into me with your 4lb plate of pasta stuff. Ok Bye
They have really spruced the place up! Very clean, and friendly staff. The food was very good and I have absolutely no complaints. HIGHLY recommend you try the croissants, I know it seems weird but they are wildly the best croissants I have ever experienced. I have had croissants at any place that serves them and for some crazy reason at this particular buffet someone puts their heart and soul into every one they make. The croissants get a personal 10/10! Eat your shorts France.
This place was SO BOMB for a buffet! The food was great, fresh and always stocked. The service was alright but I do not rate on service in buffets as I know the servers are tired and it’s always packed! A good amount of for the price. We paid 60 for 2 adults and 1 kid. The food was okay, but the sushi was delicious. Unfortunately, the service was not great. We had to go find someone just to get a refill. The worst part of the experience was at the front when I went to pay. The woman at the register was rudely on her phone yelling at someone. Instead of putting the person on hold (since it sounded like a personal call), she had it on speaker. She never greeted me and only extended her hand for payment. When I was grabbing the receipt to sign, she started loudly saying, “No, that’s my copy, this one is yours!” repeatedly while still on the phone. It was embarrassing. I told her, “Okay, I get it,” but the whole interaction felt very unprofessional and rude. I would consider coming back because the sushi was good, but that interaction at the front desk really needs improvement. Some customer service training would definitely help.
