Rubio's

It was a busy Tuesday. My order was handled smoothly and was delicious.

If you're not familiar with Rubios then you're in for a treat. The salsa bar alone is incredible but too are the amazing fish tacos. If fish is not your thing there are other delights. The healthy menu at Rubios and their consistent good taste bring me back again and again.

Delicious food! Great portion sizes! Grilled mahi mahi is our favorite burrito!

Always a consistent meal and service here. I'm a regular here and some of the managers know me well by name.

Manager and girl on the register were very friendly. I made some modifications to my order and it was done correctly.

Rubio's was amazing like always. The cashier and staff were so attentive and helpful. We ate outside and was checked on a few times asking if anything was ok and if there was anything else we needed. Great place in San Marcos.

I placed an online order. My food was ready when I arrived and as ordered. It was quick and easy. My food was still warm as well.

Food was hot and seemed larger pieces of fish in the fish tacos. It seems Rubio's is trying to improve on all the things long time customers have been complaining about.

Don't recall her name, but on the employees went above and beyond, so kind and helpful. Food portion size was good which was nice because it hasn't been that way in a while.

Food quality was good. Very rushed environment. The place could benefit from more associates at the front counter.

Going in on taco Tuesday is always a treat. You can get 3 tacos for around 10 bucks, and their a decent size. The salsa is decent too. They even recommend food pairings for convenience.

Had the Mexican Street Corn bowl, ordered through the app, so easy. Food was ready in minutes and delicious.

This place is always clean fast kind service willing to help me with my app and my discounts and with a smile I barely have time to do a trip to the bathroom before they’re calling my name out. I really like going here as some other locations I liked nearby are gone. I really enjoy that I can get a healthy salad, healthy grilled fish And steak and in many options it’s a really great place and I will be sad if it Is ever gone. Oh, and it’s always great to grab a beer on canned alcoholic beverage to enjoy my experience even more

I want to give a shout out to Reanna ! I had placed an order over the phone a couple days ago and it unfortunately did not get sent to the kitchen and after about 25 min of waiting, I kindly asked Reanna if she saw my order in her system and she said no. She took the time to explain what happened and that she would take care of it . Keep in mind it was BUSY! Not only did she offer a discount for the trouble, she grabbed the receipt and asked her team to expedite the order . She had it out in under a couple minutes and she was so sweet . Even though it was busy, I could tell she was empathetic to my situation and it didn’t go unnoticed . Thanks girl!

I was disappointed, I had ordered a shrimp bowl and customized it. I am limiting carbs so requested no rice for pickup along with other items. The ticket listed no rice but there was a full portion of rice limiting what I could eat in the bowl. The food was good but just not what I ordered and didn't want to drive back.

The cleanliness of this particular location needs work. I saw a few employees walk past the trash bin near the door and even though it was piled high with trash, not one employee bothered to change the trash bag or clean the receptacle. Not cool. Eventually, somebody dealt with the high holy mess and all became right with the world again.

The California bowl was delicious but we do miss the street corn bowl. I think we got and paid for some sides that we did not order but my husband did not get a receipt so we’re not sure what happened

Food, as always, was good, however we ordered two of the same item (langostinos bowls) in the same order, but they were so different. My wife's bowl was heaping above the rim of the bowl, mine was barely even with the rim of the bowl. Hers had lettuce as an entire base of the bowl, mine had a few shreds of lettuce at one end of the bowl. Hers had a large scoop of pico at one end of her bowl, I could hardly find any pico in mine. Hers had a generous serving of langostinos, mine about half the serving she enjoyed. However, I had substantially more guacamole than hers. Go figure. And from a presentation perspective, each bowl was served with a black bean sloppy drip on the outside of the bowl, rather unappealing for sure. Quality control ain't what it used to be, I guess. And the young lady bringing our food to our table, rather sour, no personality -- can we get a smile?

My kids like the fish tacos here. I tried a burrito, and there was hardly any chicken in the chicken burrito. It had plenty of black beans and rice, but not much of anything else. The service was fine. My husband ordered the especial fish taco plate. There was a dime sized little glob of guacamole. So he asked for a side of guacamole. They didn't want to give him. But they did. So that was good. Although, it's funny cause' the manager said that's how they do it. So just beware if you get the especial fish tacos. Make sure you get your decent amount of guacamole. It's hiding under the fish, that small green spit. Haha Bathrooms needed some attention too. The staff was nice but nice doesn't make a good taco or keep a bathroom clean.

Have always enjoyed Taco Tuesdays at Rubios. Tonight's meals was disappointing. Quality was not what we were used to, portions smaller, prices higher, very unfortunate. Might be time to reconsider our Taco Tuesday destination.

Burnt chicken, cold tortillas, Way to much black pepper in the beans. Never had this experience at other rubios

Oh Coronavirus Pandemic, I hate you. I have been dining at this location since it opened. Yes, the pandemic has affected everything. I get that and I am sympathetic. Today ... I don't know if they were just short-staffed, employees overworked or just plain didn't want to be there. Apparently, long gone are the days of a welcoming cashier. We dined at an off time when the restaurant wasn't busy. Not one employee we encountered was smiling. I was polite to all. I joked with my bf after we left, well, we did all but cook our own meal. We wiped off the dirty table, we had to go back to the counter and politely ask for the cilantro with the same cashier who clarified our order, we later asked her for a cover for the cilantro cup when she was sweeping near our table, "you have to ask over there", as she pointed. Barely an guac on my Fish Taco Especials. Just increase the price . I chose to dine here as a treat. M'yeah. I don't envision a return in the near future. Sorry ... Not trying to be 'Negative Nancy', just a long time patron. IYKYK

I had spent 2 hours just trying to get my order done but their website deleted everything if I was kicked off the page. Then, it doesn't let you auto fill the page with anything and kept freezing and that would again clear all the fields. It was so so frustrating and ultimately the order I did thru their website was not delivered and this is after I was billed twice. So basically a hundred dollars for no food and the manager said sorry but we cooked the food so call the delivery company yet couldn't tell me what delivery company picked it up for delivery. I have never been so mad and he was absolutely flippant and simply did not care. I had to complain about the double charge and was told again that they did their part and he was not about to give me free food to replace the order unless I wanted to pay for it again.

A young girl working this morning (not a manager) had a very unwelcoming attitude when helping a older senior woman in front of me when she was acquiring information about a taco plate. She then proceeded to have the same attitude with me when I asked her to take out the salsa on my burrito. I then went to the bathroom, surprisingly my food was ready in under five minutes, she stated my order was ready and pushed the bag toward me. Upon leaving I saw her take the food out to the older woman and rudely placed it on her table without stating anything in a very cold manner. I don’t mind being disrespected, but when I see seniors being treated poorly it is very infuriating.

I honestly am sooo disappointed $4.75 for a splat of guacamole. I ordered a large side of chips and guacamole and I honestly assumed they would come separate and the guacamole would be in a measured container since I did order to go. I’m also curious to see what the small order looks like cuz this is a rip off!!! Seriously I will not be doing the favor of picking up lunch for my boyfriend from here no matter how much he favors rubios. They disgust me!

My husband and I had each ordered a fish supreme taco today. First it was supposed to come with guacamole and cilantro. They didn’t have either on them plus the fish was so thin and cooked way to much you barely could see the white meat of the fish and it had no taste. When I took the tacos to the counter the guy took my plate as if I was bothering him took the spoon that was in the guacamole he didn’t scoop up a fresh spoon he took the spoon and hit it on the counter to have what ever was left on the spoon go on my taco which was barely nothing. I will never ever go back to this Rubio’s the guy’s making up the dishes acted as if they were not into make the food look appetizing or presentable. The order takers did good but the food makers were horrible.

I ordered fish and chips with fries and no jalapeno tartar sauce, he got the surf and turf Bowl but we were not informed that the sauce on it was extremely hot and spicy. My fish and chips on the other hand nice crunch on the outside flavor tasted like it was cooked in very old oil and the french fries were so they weren't even warm kind of hard like they had taken them off an old plate someone had left and put them in my box like 7 old fries. My fish and chips in french fries were unedible and my partners seafood platter was good it was just way too hot for him. Have eaten at one of your Rubio's down in El Cajon the food was delicious and fresh I was very disappointed for the amount of money that I spent and what I got in return
