The food is soooo good! I had the Gold package of sex on the beach sushi, calamari, rocky shrimp, frozen strawberry margarita, & strawberry ice cream for dessert. Totally would recommend this place. I will be coming back every time I come to Texas.
Customer service was outstanding. Food was delicious, ordered the gold and premium hot pot experience. Will be coming back!!
First time here. Ellie was great! She explained everything and had some great suggestions. The food was great, and the service as well. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We purchased a membership which provides discounts and loyalty points, so we will definitely be back!
We were in a hurry and the waitress (savannah)was very accommodating. They brought our food out super fast. We are very happy with this experience and will definitely come back.
First off, Miranda was great, she really made the experience for us. For being a college town small sushi place I guess it’s not awful. $25 per person for the all you can eat isn’t bad. Be prepared though, it’s all crab mix. I think that when the cooks get in for the day, they whip up a 55 gallon drum of crab mix, maybe two drums. Thanks Miranda. You kept this from being an awful review.
Brought my daughter and her best friend just to escape the winter storm and have a good time. Food was amazing performance from the hibachi grill was amazing conversation was friendly and they even helped snap photos several different times for me so I could be included in the photos. The lighting at night in here is awesome and a lot of photo opportunities. And to top it off for the girls, they had Boba menu fairly priced drinks and food. Most certainly will be coming back❤️
We go to Sakura Sushi every weekend as VIP members and they have fantastic, honest, kind staff members who listen to their customers and thoroughly answer any questions you may have. The sushi is always so good and well made as well as their drinks, which seem to be all hand crafted per order. I cannot speak on the hot pots or hibachi, we haven’t tried those yet. Outside of the changes to the boba tea and wasabi (which I get, listening to your customers and making changes based on their feedback is amazing), the conveyer belt-style sushi and atmosphere are wonderful with a great low-key Japanese vibe.
This is a must stop for me when in San Marcos TX. The sushi is great, the service is on point. And I love the conveyor belt. The all you can eat menu is amazing. They have so much available to choose from. I've never done the Hot Pot. But that looks like a full meal deal as well. I just wish, I wasn't so far away. I'd eat here a lot more. Lol.
Wow, what an experience. I didn't realize it's all you can eat yet you still order from the menu. I started to feel bad for our server but she never slowed down. Appetizers, refills on our proteins, kept our drinks topped off, and all delicious! We were able to try SO MANY different things. The only thing I'd pass on next time is the diamond level bbq grill steaks, I prefer a thicker steak but understand that cooking at the table means you don't want to wait 15 for it to cook through.
I am a returning customer from 4 years ago. I traveled from Austin for my wife and mother to try this place for their first time. Not only was the food, service, and prices as good as I remember, but they also remodeled the restaurant beautifully. A lovely surprise. I was shcoked to have great asian cuisine at such an affordable price for all three of us. My family enjoyed it and looking forward to coming back for more! Highly recommend this spot. Sharing a snippet of what you see as you enter the restaurant to see their atmosphere.
The staff did an amazing job on my visit with my girlfriend! The hot pot diamond was more than enough to fill me. The wide variety of selections is amazing. I truly enjoyed the shrimp and beef with lamb. I got the pork based broth which was also excellent. Plus you get UNLIMITED SUSHI!!! Will be a returning customer for awhile!! Thank you Sakura staff from wait staff who was super attentive ( Lisa, Marjorie) to management who also checked on every table and cleaned as well very pleased!!
This place is super fun for a date night or to take a few friends. Service was a little slow but they were super friendly and the food was delicious so I'm happy to let that slide. We got the hot pot tier from the menu and everything was delicious and so fun. Only thing that could have improved it would be more pickly & fermented banchan options on the greens bar. Best part of this kind of food is building that perfect bite. Highly recommend we will go back.
3 different levels for all you can eat, incl sushi (gold, silver, platinum)... we picked gold and had plenty of options! The servings aren't gigantic, and they will charge extra if you have leftovers, but it decreases food waste and you can get more servings or try other things if you're still hungry. Wait staff was very nice and attentive.
Absolutely loved it the experience! Monica our server was great! Very polite, talkative and engaging. Give her a raise! My only suggestion for the business is to clean up the outside of the building. When we first pulled up we thought it was an abandoned restaurant as we were the first ones here today. Everything else was amazing. Worth the money spent.
EDIT: They have raised their prices exponentially. The food is just as good but it costs an arm And a leg to eat here now. So sad :'( I've been coming to this place for a bit now, and they recently renovated. The food was already great, but the atmosphere had drastically improved! I really like what they're doing with the place. The food is always great too! A good selection of food, including lots of options if you don't like raw fish. The all you can eat sushi conveyor is a great deal as well. When you order hot dishes, they come out super fresh since they are made to order. And the sushi rolls are always made very nicely. Also, I know they have a good drink selection. I can't vouch for the quality since I have yet to get one, but they have margarita towers of different sizes and deals on flights of drinks. I have yet to try the hot pot, but they have a new area for fresh veggies to select from for your hot pot. Very attentive staff as well! Overall, it's just a really good place that more people need to visit. Every time we bring someone, they get hooked.
If you are looking for an inexpensive solution to sushi then this is your place. Do not expect over the top flavor or quality as it is an all you can eat. I'll just start with the salad that no one told us it comes with some strange pink strawberry sauce, followed up with some sort of clear egg drop soup. It has a revolving sushi as well as order off menu. As an avid sushi goer the selection is rather basic you either get avocado or imitation crab. There are up charges to eel or some other fish selections however for 16$ for lunch all you can eat it was worth the price.
I used to love coming to Sakura Sushi because the food genuinely tastes very good, and the sushi has always been fresh and flavorful. However, my recent visit felt tense and uncomfortable, especially as a parent. I was ordering the all-you-can-eat option and explained that my one-year-old would only have a few bites of rice from my plate, but I was told that if she ate anything from my plate, I had to purchase a separate plate for her, which ended up being wasteful since she didn’t eat it. I also had to request napkins and sugar packets in very small amounts, and the waitress kindly explained she was not allowed to give more at a time, which felt uncomfortable when dining with a small child. The staff themselves were sweet and respectful, and I understand they were following policy, but the overall experience did not feel very family-friendly. I just want other parents to be aware of this. The food is still great, but the experience itself kind of ruined it for me. It’s good for a parents night out kind of vibe :)
This was very much a budget AYCE sushi restaurant. The sushi we had was good. They don’t give water unless you ask, they don’t give wasabi/ginger unless you ask and the menu was very small. Lots of key classics missing like seaweed salad, shumai, mackerel and many more. Nigiri and sashimi were limited as part of AYCE, 2 orders per person; never seen that before. The appetizers and soups were mediocre. Anything fried tasted only like fry oil. The hostess and waitress were very nice but the service was slow, it took a long time to get everything. The low price tag for AYCE ($25) excuses some of this but a premium restaurant is only $5-10 more and worth it.
The service was great, but if you want real sushi with real fish, this is definitely not the place. Even for all you can eat, it was horrible. My husband got their tempura ice cream for dessert and tempura tasted like raw flour. Would not recommend and would never come back.
For a Saturday noon sushi rolls slow to come out on conveyor. Spring rolls small and mostly bread. Chicken curry very bland and unremarkable. Entrees have no explanation so katsu chicken was fried chicken strips in honey...at least it was sweet otherwise unremarkable. Place is dark and neon lut as any strip club in austin. Service was good. But overall everything I tried was bland and unremarkable. Seeing 4 plus stars I expected better
My niece really wanted to try a hotpot. Our favorite is the melting pot, but it was to far to go today, so we decided to give this place a try. Definitely not a place we will return. Some of the meats come frozen. Extremely disappointing when you are paying $50 a person for marinated premium meat. We also ordered a filet, the filet was not beef, not sure what it was but it was brown. I tried to put it on the grill but it just would not turn from that brown. According to google reverse image it was some kind of pork item. Staff was nice and reduced one of the four meals to the second tier after I let them know the only reason the third tier was chosen was for the steak. We had a 1 year old who was not going to eat, but he does like to play with the plates. We were told we had to order him an item from the kids menu. We were recommended to get a kids noodle , thank goodness we did, it was the only thing the other two people with us liked. It took forever to put in food item request, according to the sever it was due to being busy. However it was not that busy in our opinions as a server in our past. The server does not bring the food not sure why the wait was so long to put in orders. On top of all that they included the 1 year old in the party of four making it a party of 5 to include automatic gratuity. Overall would not recommend.
Service has gotten so bad! My partner and I went to eat here tonight (all you can eat) and our server was so nice at first but really needs to learn to check on her tables more. She only came to our table to grab our drink order and abut 10 minutes later to ask about food. If you’ve been here, you know that the sushi is on the conveyor belt but anything else has to be ordered through the server. We sat there waiting for her to refill out empty cups or at least come by so we could order more food but she never came back. After at least 30 minutes, we finally asked for the check and head out. We both left thirsty, hungry, and extremely unsatisfied. We’ve been going to sakura for years and it seems like the recent service is not good at all. It sucks because the prices keep going up but quality of service is declining.
