I'm always amazed by all the talents they get there on "Jamming Tuesdays with Poncho Blues" prob the best place to spend your Tuesdays!! Manager Frankie and staff are very attentive and friendly. I understand they do have music Tuesday to Saturday and a menu with food that looks delicious!

El Monarco is my favorite restaurant in the San Antonio neighborhood. The food is excellent and there are many choices as well as moderately priced. Not only that, there is live music every night! Live music and wonderful food. They serve their own roasted chicken, fabulous ribs, steak and lobster, and salmon, among other things. Large portions, and very reasonable prices. Seems they have music Friday and Saturday nights

I went today to have dinner and there was a great audience and good live music. I order chicken salad it was very tasty but what amazed me was the dressing, it was like home made I cannot describe it in words. My friends also order a Pizza that had pepperoni, serrano Jam, basil, parmesan cheese and I had a slice it was very good. Also the service very friendly and good attention, I wish there are more places that follow the way of this restaurant. Thanks a lot!!!💯🎉🎉🎉

Francisco at El Monarco will bend over backwards to ensure a memorable dining experience in a very modest establishment. There's live music and a sense of being right in the community of San Antonio. The food is great and the experience satisfying.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here, the BBQ ribs on special were delicious. But wait, there's more. We loved the music. They had two guys playing that were sort of "meh" at firest, but when they got warmed up it was incredible. Just a great experience all around.

Qué lugar tan bohemio! La parte de abajo es pequeña pero muy acogedora, el lugar muy pintoresco y es muy agradable a la vista, todos los días hay música en vivo. Esta vez encontré un lugar para pasar un pequeño rato en lo que la lluvia paraba y pedí un café y una botana que fue unos dedos de queso ¡Maravillosos! Quiero destacar la atención que nos brindó la mesera, es muy atenta y amable. El Monarco es el lugar perfecto si quieres descubrir la escena musical de San Miguel de Allende.

Una esquina con corazón de fonda pero alma de cantina, simpleza en la diversión pero un buen rato garantizado. Precios módicos.

Had an American Thanksgiving dinner here. Roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potaoe, green beans and gravy were all excellent and very reasonable at 500 pesos. Would definitley return. Live guitar music with a 60's 70's theme was enjoyable as well.

We ate here twice and the food we had was good. The staff was accommodating and friendly and it's a nice rooftop spot. Lots of artwork in and around the place and a beautifully painted rock n roll staircase. The first night the service was pretty bad. The waitress was a deer in the headlights, and didn't take our order properly. We also didn't get one of the 2 main courses we ordered, even though we waited about an hour. We gave them another chance tonight, and the service actually managed to be worse. Much worse. We had a group of 7, and only 3 of us ate. The rest of our group waited and waited and waited for the food to come. We paid for the food we ate, and we left. Went to another restaurant. This place has potential, but they really need to get their act together in terms of kitchen and service. I'm truly sorry to have to write this review.

Four of us arrived for breakfast and there were not other customers in the restaurant. Each plate was prepared and served separately with about 10 minutes between the arrival of each plate. The first person was long finished by the time the forth breakfast arrived. The food was good and reasonably priced, but the service is a killer.

The stars are just for the waitress and the live music. I might be the only one who orders hotdogs when they offered it in a restaurant. I was so excited when I ordered a chilli hot dog 🌭 and hot dog with bacon, well their chilli is not the typical chilli bean that we all know, its just ground beef with some beans and NO chili sauce and no hot dog either. When they wrapped the bacon they use a toothpick to hold the bacon… how did I notice? Because I took it out of my mouth, good thing I didn’t get injured. Even though I told the manager about the first situation seems like it was just a waste of time or he is just careless blaming a woman manager that according with him changes the recipes. I won’t be surprised that he or she (owners) instead of fixing their flaws attack me just like they did with my husbands honest review. Seems like being snappy at customers this is a thing here in Mexico.

This place has a nice ambiance and friendly staff. A guy was playing a guitar which was nice. I ordered a smoked chicken salad which I thought would be shredded chicken or sliced chicken. They brought out an entire chicken breast (with bone ) on top of the spinach. It was cut into a few large pieces. The chicken tasted day old and flavorless. Some of the chicken was pink so I took most of it home and cooked it some more. My other half wanted a hot dog and ordered a chili dog. There was no hotdog! We told the manager and he didn’t seem to care. He ordered a bacon wrapped hot dog too and he said it was low quality.

So before this incident I really wanted to go to this bar based on the vibes outside, I discovered this place while attending a thanksgiving dinner party. I parked at my friend's place across the street from this bar and went to a dinner party. Came back to find the staff (they claimed to be the owners but were working 28/November/2024 - in case they were lying) attempting to steal my cuatrimoto. They argued with me about ownership of the vehicle, even after I pulled out the key and started the cuatri. Then they continued to defend themselves saying many people owned this make and model (true). So I repeatedly asked them to go find theirs while they shouted at me (they never did attempt to locate their vehicle, they went inside and locked the doors behind them). Thankfully I have three witnesses so if y'all wanna argue facts--let's go. I don't know if they were so drunk they forgot where they parked, and were being genuine about the "mistake" but after claiming it looked like theirs they never attempted to go and find their cautri. Two women shouted at me, while I was mostly pleasant given the circumstances, mainly repeating "go find yours then" and "I don't want to hear any more from you stop talking and go away" whenever they tried to argue with me. I am unsure if they drink on the job, are stupid, or are thieves. But if their defense of trying to steal my vehicle was an attempt to drive drunk home I am still left questioning their morals and decision making abilities. You are a mess get help.
