Amazing place. Really great service. Good tapas. The ahi nachos were really good. Definitely a good date or small group place for dinner.
The restaurant was really nice. We were happy to see the decor and walked around to see all the different paper artwork. The food was very tasty, with a lot of options for vegetarians and delicious small plates. We really liked brussel sprouts as they were chopped. The garlic in mushroom was a treat.
Wonderful tapas bar with great food and drinks. Everything tonight was excellent. Go with at least 4 friends so you can try a wide variety if dishes. I could eat several orders of the lamburghinis.
Excellent food and service! Happy hour specials every day! This is one of our new favorites on the Mesa.
Have been coming here for 4 years! Love the food and drinks. Be careful though, the drinks are strong and you most likely only need 2. Great service from the gentleman who was serving us. Thank you!
Extraordinary cozy restaurant with deliciously unique dishes and cocktails. Fresh ingredients. Best cocktails and food I have had in a while. Very reminiscent of restaurants in San Francisco.
A tiny little spot on Santa Barbara’s Mesa which Is close to downtown and the harbor. The food is great and the drinks are good.
Amazing food, sexy atmosphere, phenomenal menu, out of this world service. A MUST DO!!
Best Old Fashioned!! And Yumm choices to select from plenty of flavor. Love the vibe.
Excellent cocktails, interesting tapas in a very well set scenery, with a touch of an original Spanish temperament. Friendly staff, quick service and a pleasant clientele.
This was our first time at Alcazar Tapas Bar and we will definitely be going back. The food and service were outstanding! The drinks were excellent as well!!!
Love this place walkiing distance from my house. Good cocktails, food and service.
Amazing bar and service staff. Knows their drinks! Tell them what you like and you can find new drinks to enjoy
We were just in for the first time last night & we loved it! Great food, drinks & atmosphere. We'll be back!
One of my favorite tapas restaurant; small, lively and intimate. Great for grabbing happy hour or late night dinner.
Alcazar is a hidden gem in Santa Barbara! The tapas are creative, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. Every dish felt like it was made with love—especially the bacon-wrapped dates and the grilled shrimp skewers. The ambiance is warm, cozy, and just the right amount of lively. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, with great recommendations. Whether you’re going for a date night, girls’ night, or just treating yourself, Alcazar delivers every time. Can’t wait to come back!
This little gem serves absolutely the best food in Santa Barbara. Every dish is a delight. Love the Lamborghinis! Their take on paella is delicious. Must haves include the Brussels sprouts, tacos and the lava cake. And the drinks are to die for! Their red sangria is another mystery-have! Ambience always feels like a party. Friendly, laid back, but attentive staff.
This place was unreal absolutely unexpected to find a gem like this tucked away. Had dinner with my daughter there who is a student at UCSB and we just kept ordering everything was delicious each dish better than the last. It's always a little holes in the wall that have the best food in this went to further substantiate that.. can't wait to go back!!
One of our favorite hole in the wall spots! Perfect for date night. Food is creative and varied, and they offer indoor and outdoor seating. You won’t be disappointed!
Came in a little later in the evening so we had our choice of seating. We had Cadillac margaritas, pork tacos, shrimp tacos, the arugula and beet salad and bacon wrapped dates. The drinks and tacos were excellent! As we're the dates. The salad was pretty good, but I would suggest something else if you don't like the tartness of lemon. They had music going from the bar which made it even better! I definitely plan on coming back here. The brie sounded great but we were to full to eat anymore.
Honestly, no complaints at all about this place. It's our favorite restaurant in town (also within walking distance on the Mesa). Shrimp tacos are arguably one of the best things on the menu, but everything is delicious! Food is made with love and it's obvious!
We loved the paellita and the beef sliders. Our server Mike was excellent. The dessert sounds delicious, so we'll have to go back to add it to our order! 😉
All of the food was outstanding. Sawyer our server was super! Very attentive, cordial and proactively refilled my water which I always appreciate. Everything was perfect.
Food was great, but the servers we had the pleasure of meeting, Nicole and Devin, I believe (?) were absolutely fantastic. So personable, and cheerful, yet easy-going (which, after 8 years as a barista, I am very aware is not always easy). They made our first restaurant experience post-vaccines so fun and chill. My gf and I really, really appreciated it.
I can't believe I have overlooked this little gem! It is awesome! They will modify anything for you. Great Happy Hour! The atmosphere is so cool. Cozy, zen, etc. Great for Vegans and Carnivores. The music takes me back to the day. I recommend it 100%.
This is a small place, among other shops, but well worth hunting out. I Went with a friend - the staff were fun and efficient. Our server got us sangria in large glasses, then we ordered pialla with muscles, sauteed mushrooms and brussel sprouts. It was all wonderful. We split a lava cake, perfect finish. I hope to go back soon.
For Me And My Family Coming Here For The First Time We Are Extremely Greatful For The Entire Staffs Customer Service. Everyone Has Been Trained Very Well And Take Their Job Serious Because Everyone Was Respectful:) All Of The Dishes We Ordered Were All Satisfying. My Friend Was Not Having A Good Day And We Left Very Satisfied. We Are Locals and I am So Thankful That We Had A Wonderful Experience. We Took Food For Another Family Member And Was Also Left Satisfied. We Kept Making Compliments On The Food. We Will Definetely Be Going Back For More To Keep Trying Different Food And Drinks. Now I Also Know What Will Make My Friend Happy. Her Birthday Is Around The Corner I Definetely Want To Bring Her Back And Surprise Her:)
Such a great place for dinner date with that special someone. Loved their food and drinks and what can you say about their staff. Nicole was a great hostess/server but they were all great and unfortunately dod not get their names. I recommend you go and try everything.
Some of the best cocktails in Santa Barbara. I enjoyed the jalapeno infused tequila drink and I don't care for tequila. Sweet potato fries are the best I've ever had.
Food and drinks are excellent, staff amazing. Definitely going to be one our favorite spots! Try the Dressed to Kale and Three little pig cassoulet, you will not be disappointed.
Great tapas and craft cocktails! The staff is very friendly. I have dinner and drinks here at least once a month and always love it.
Met a friend here for dinner and we had delicious food in this cozy resturant. It's the best place on the Mesa, a local treat. Highly recommend for great prices and fantastic food.
Last night’s holiday party was a hit… A friend brought paella from Alcazar and what might be the best cheesecake I’ve had in my 49 years on this planet, and I’m not exaggerating. The food disappeared in minutes, and the cheesecake? Pure madness. People were literally fighting over the last slices One guy even claimed he needed 6 (SIX) slices because he had six starving kids at home. Nice try, buddy! Safe to say: Alcazar is officially my new favorite tapas spot and the undisputed #1 destination for dessert.(Try the cheesecake!) Unreal food. Unforgettable night.
What a great service!! We came to celébrate my birthday and Since we arrived they gave us a complementary drink with a little tapa!! The food it was GREAT🫶🏽 Drinks were delicious! Every part of the experience was stellar! Recommend 1000%
we went last night and will be back soon! i’m obsessed w the makeover !!! it’s literally the vibe i’ve been missing and looking for. and that cheesecake was my fave of all time.
Amazing neighborhood spot with great food, wine and drinks! Atmosphere is perfect and the team is so welcoming. We always have a good time!
Great intimate place with good happy hour deals, they used to have cioppino but have since changed the menu, got the meatballs but they were extremely overcooked, bacon wrapped dates always a winner. Cheers!
Food was tasty, nice cozy atmosphere. Could have done with more Spanish wine options. Prices high for tapas
This small place has a big personality! The food is absolutely delicious (try the beans and greens and the lamb sliders!), not cheap but well worth every penny. The staff are fast efficient and hard workers, and really sweet. The drinks (especially the mojitos) are fabulous, this is the perfect place to hang out with some buds.
Your prices online are different from the price on the menu when you go in . They took off my favorite salad and I was very disappointed. The service was good but you need to bring back the salad that had beets in it.
Great drink selection and happy hour specials. Really yummy small bite food (the lamb sliders we had were particularly good). The place was very busy though, and service was slow as a result. They easily needed another server helping cover the tables. Would definitely go again though.
Good location for a quick happy hour glass of wine. Good tapas. Spanish style cuisine with the wine to pair with it. Cocktails are delicious. If you're more of a beer drinker, keep in mind, there is no Tap so you'll have to suffice with paying for a bottle. Semi decent selection of craft brews, but this place is most known for their cocktails and wine selection.
A high-quality yet cozy restaurant specialized in tapas with portion sizes slightly larger than the usually small Spanish mini dishes. Nice service, affordable prices (except for the wines: the least expensive ones are $9 per glass, a little out of synch with the cost of the entrees). Definitely go and have fun!
Great food and service. Easy location to access. Prices are good, especially for happy hour. Seats are a little uncomfortable if you stay for a long time, but nice. Will likely be back.
Way to dark, couldn't read the menu with out using my phone's light. A little loud as well. The food was very good. Decent service, nothing to write home about, except for the food, I really liked the food, and drinks as well
By far one of my favorite places in town. Al has always paid close attention to detail when it comes to food and aesthetic! Unfortunately, this is my second time not being acknowledged by the woman behind the bar. She did however acknowledge other patrons entering the room. At this point, I asked a waitress for a table.
very average. first and probably last time here, everything was barely just okay. level of food is slightly above your average mall chain restaurant for the nearly fine dining cost. pretty disappointed. tapas are not even tapas: pretty large plates of generic and boring appetizer/bar food that you can get at any pub. had dates in bacon, boring chicken tacos, lamb sliders , brie. some gin drinks. there are so many better places in sb in that price category with much better service and quality.
Lovely design, great food but very poor service. Feels like the place is understaffed. Staff were under pressure and probably as a consequence, a bit rude.
Ok... I have been here a number of times. The food is always very good to excellent and the service is ALWAYS fair at best. I can go to many places for good food in the Santa Barbara area so what I look for is to be wowed with service. Alcazar seems always to be under staffed. And frankly, after being slammed into by one of the servers on three different occasions I was ready to go HOME and have another cocktail rather than to have another at the restaurant. I am sure I will try again, but it will be awhile.
The waitress was so rude and made us feel uncomfortable, she made us tip her 20% even though the service was the problem. We had 3 couples who all came away feeling abused. I feel bad for the owner because I am sure he doesn’t have control. I am sure he paid this person well yet she made 3 SB couples saying they will never return
