Great meatballs, beets dish and pizza. Especially the pepperoni pizza with hot honey - was a great combination and super delicious. Service was impeccable and atmosphere was wonderful as well. Not too loud, was able to talk without issues. Their wine list looks pretty solid as well. Would definitely return.
Great pizza and lovely dishes. The ricotta was perfect. The sweet potatoes were wonderfully spiced and baked!
Best Ceasar salad and Margherita Pizza I've had in years! Delicious. Great service, ambiance and very attentive, pleasant staff. Recommend!! Outdoor patio, indoor tables/booths, bar seating, and also seating at kitchen/pizza oven area where I sat. Fun to watch the behind-the-scenes action!
Very special place to eat, drink and soak in the Santa Barbara experience. Family friendly or bar stool for 1 friendly just be sure to make a reservation or arrive at least 30 minutes before you’re hungry. It’s a popular spot. They are known for their amazing pizzas but I live their meatballs and salads!
I dined at Bettina with a friend, before heading to the Santa Barbara bowl for a concert. We had an amazing experience with awesome service and the the ingredients were fresh and delicious. We shared three items, which left enough leftovers for a third person. Starting with the Burrata and Eggplant, putting in an order for a pepperoni pizza, which pizzas were taking approximately 20 to 40 minutes at our reservation time at 4:45 pm. It delivered approximately at 20 minutes, but they tell you ahead of time the wait time. We also shared the Mafaldine pasta which was delicious. They charge a $10 reservation fee per person which is refundable, and reservations, fill up quickly, so make one ahead of time. FYI, we Ubered from the restaurant to the concert (6 miles) which was completely worth it. It’s no wonder that this is the Michelin star restaurant, they deserve it! I will definitely be returning to Bettina!
We made a reservation for Thursday night at 6:30, arrived on time and were promptly seated at our table outside. The outdoor tables were a bit uncomfortable and I think next time I’d be sure to book inside seating. We ordered two pizzas- the Corn Pizza and the Meat Lovers Pizza. The waitress let us know it’d likely be around a 30 minute wait for them to arrive- it ended up only being around 15 minutes or so. The pizza crust itself was delcious- perfectly cooked with a delicious flavor. Unique topping combinations as well. Reasonable prices given the ingredient quality and the Montecito location. We will definitely be back to try other flavors!
Absolutely amazing pizza place in Santa Barbara. They’re well known in the area and they definitely didn’t disappoint. The ambiance was definitely fancy but still rustic. The pizzas were of course fantastic, especially their seasonal peach pizza. Additionally, their pasta was yummy too, although quite pricy for a smaller portion. Make sure to make a reservation slightly in advance! The front of the house was also super warming and welcoming :D
We stopped by Bettina on a weekday and were pleasantly surprised to be seated in under 5 minutes no reservation needed. Big win! We sat at the bar by the oven, which gave us front-row seats to the action. The guy handling the pizzas was super friendly and clearly passionate about his craft it made the experience even better. We ordered the mushroom pizza and it did not disappoint. The dough, fermented for at least 48 hours, was light, crisp, and full of flavor truly artisan quality. Each bite was earthy and satisfying. I’m already planning my next visit to try their Peach and Poblano pizzas, which looked incredible coming out of the oven. Bettina is a must for pizza lovers in Santa Barbara.
Definitely make a reservation because the space is limited. From start to finish the staff were lovely to interact with and so kind to all. The salad and pizza we got were delicious and at first I thought $4 for a side of ranch was steep but it was the best ranch I’ve ever had, so fresh and full of herbs. Loved my meal here and would definitely come back! Marketing touches of merch and match boxes are a nice touch and very authentic, don’t come off as tacky like many other places.
Some of the best Margherita pizza I’ve ever had. Dough was light and fresh (apparently they ferment it for 48 hours). It even had remnants of flour on the bottom, a testament to the freshness. Caesar salad is refreshing and crisp with crunchy bites and plenty of Parmesan. Arancini was very good too. Pizzas are all made to order and can take up to 35 minutes but they course out the dishes nicely to accommodate.
A friend recommended this spot for dinner so we took an Uber here and it was well worth it! Their pizzas are thin crust and super fresh. The favors are incredible. Their Caesars salad was extra delicious and crunchy. We had the pepperoni and mushroom pizzas. We sat outside and walked around the plaza after dinner.
Bettina was highly recommended by many Santa Barbara locals and online, and it definitely lived up to the hype. We got the arancicini, caesar salad, and pepperoni pizza. All of the food was phenomenal, came out fairly quickly, and were overall good value for the price. Our servers were generally friendly and we enjoyed the overall atmosphere inside (trendy but still approachable). We continue to talk about how much we enjoyed Bettina and would definitely come back.
Authentic wood fired oven pizzas, great ingredients. Service was slow; plenty of waiting for our large party of 9. Minestrone soup was very ordinary, not any depth in flavor at all. But pizzas and bread we ordered were worth the wait. We tried 5-6 different types and were happy with each and every one of them. Overall, I would recommend to anyone who wants to just have a good Pizza, or bread for that matter. But be prepared to wait for your turn.
This place was highly recommend by trip advisor and it is worth a visit if you're in the SB area. It is also Michelin recommend. Mafaldine alla gircia pasta- this was very creamy and delicious. I loved the house made noodles. Casitas Valley Sausage pizza - this was also a great dish to share. We got 2 slices each between 3 of us. Meatballs Alla Vodka - little under cooked but still delicious. The sauce is rich. Ricotta - it has egg plant it in and was wonderful especially with their house bread. Olive oil cake - we got this to go, but it was liight and fluffy. Service was great, we gor there an hour before closing and got sat outside. Although it was colder night the heat lamps were strong. There was plenty of parking and in a cute strip mall with other restaurants.
The food was good. I love pizza. I try it everywhere I go. I’m always looking for the best in the area. So I had to come here. There’s a lot of hype about Bettina. It may have been the night I went but I wasn’t amazed. Neapolitan pizza in general is delicious…this didn’t hit the mark for what I was hearing. Cocktails were alright. Service was good. Lucky penny’s pizza had better flavor dough, cheese, and toppings. I’ll try it again another time and hope it matches what others are saying.
Good pizza. We tried a pepperoni pie and added mushrooms. The pizza was good, but it was so dominated by the pepperoni flavor that nothing else came through - despite mentioning chili oil and honey etc. I mean, I know I ordered a pepperoni pizza but wow. This was pretty intense. The crust was pretty good, but not winning awards. I mean that's fine from pizza hut or somewhere of that caliber, but I expected more from such a highly reviewed place that charges $30 for a medium sized pizza. Will try a different pizza someday. Definitely great service, lovely ambiance. Good spot, hopefully the other pies are a bit better.
Make sure you get a reservation! There is a $10 per person charge to make a reservation and it will be refunded when you arrive. We started with the whipped feta appetizer, average. Caesar salad was delish. We ordered the meat eaters pizza, sorry no photo, it looked so good we dove in. It’s very filling was good. I ordered the sourdough cavetelli with butternut squash sauce, it was a bit spicy with the Aleppo peppers it over powered the other flavors. The atmosphere was fun and the service was great. It was a nice evening!
Let’s start with the pizza: over baked so we couldn’t enjoy the crust or appreciate the ingredients. The salad was one dimensional and I wouldn’t recommend it. But the dish that saved the entire experience was the sourdough cavatelli. The broccolini, garlic, Parmesan, and breadcrumbs combined flavor and texture to culinary perfection. The atmosphere had a nice neighborhood restaurant vibe. Our server was friendly in a doing her job kind of way. It didn’t feel genuine but she took care of us very well. Friends told us this was “the best pizza”. Unexpectedly, I wouldn’t even put it in my top 5.
It's ok. Limited seating so it is advisable to make a reservation. Pizza is ok but I was expecting it to be better considering all of the hype about this place. Service is fine depending on who you get. Our server was nice. They used to always offer cracked pepper automatically with your salad not at all anymore. Nice wine list.
The Pizzas are usually good if fresh and hot but very pricey. This last week we decided to order 2 take out pizzas. They gave us a 15 min window. Showed up 5 min before the pick up window. Took it home only to realize both pizzas are cold, stale and very clearly sitting out there on the counter for a long while. Do not recommend take out!
After all the rave, I decided to check out this Michelin-Star restaurant. We ordered our food, and after, our server went missing in action. When our food arrived, the first thing I noticed was how burnt our pizzas were. My meat lovers looked like someone had a campfire on it. The pepperoni pizza had the pepperoni overcooked. I thought it was pepperoni scoops. At that point, I was okay until we requested a to-go box. The server that brought it dropped and left. Inside the box was cardboard dust and no parchment paper, which I expect this 5-star restaurant to know pizza on the box smells like the box. So I asked one of the waitpersons for parchment paper and, with attitude, brought me pastry bags. Seriously. *Its box, parchment paper then pizza * not pastry bags under pizza. Who ever gave you a Michelin Star must have been high or was served better food. I felt sorry for the lady next to me. It took 10 minutes before someone came to her and the restaurant was not busy. First time and never going back.
