Opinions de Bossie's Kitchen Santa Barbara
Bossie’s is a true local gem. The food never fails to amaze me. The peach salad is an absolute standout, but every dish feels thoughtfully and lovingly homemade. The servers are attentive and make everyone feel genuinely welcome, specially the young lady from Argentina! You can’t miss this spot.
My favorite lunch spot in Santa Barbara. Even my impatient teenager will happily wait for the food here because of its high quality. We like the half sandwich and side door lunch. My teenager loves the turkey sandwich with mac and cheese and I love the BLT with side salad (citrus or peach salad). I would say it's the best BLT I've ever had and I've had quite a few. The daily soup special is also worth considering, with great bread on the side. Fresh iced tea too. Can be a bit crazy on peak at it's also popular with the local high school kids so we try to get there around 11:30 or after 1. Great pastries too. Summer update: food still great, but kitchen was slower when we visited. Don't come here if you're in a rush, but this place really deserves a visit for lunch when you have say 75+ mins.
We went because of a referral from a TV show and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent, the food was exquisite, the donuts are spectacular, the place is beautiful, very familiar, I left very happy and satisfied. Highly recommended.👌
On two separate visits to Santa Barbara I have been brought here by different hosts. They are obviously doing something right at Bossie’s Kitchen. We had the Korean fried chicken, and a grilled cheese sandwich with avocado. Both were delicious. We had some donuts for dessert to top off a great meal. The service was great and the casual dining was very relaxing on a perfect California evening.
First of all, you need to try the crullers. just skip the meal, and go straight for dessert. They are THAT GOOD. I had the citrus salad (all local produce!) w perfectly cooked salmon for protein. So good! My friends had a grilled cheese, which looked amazing, and was a good size to split bt 2 adults. Another friend had a burger and truffle fries! Yummmmm! Also, get a cruller. lol! Will be back!
Ok I’ll give my full review in a bit after I eat. For first impressions… the smell is wonderful, the staff is great, love the smile.. the god looks good and smells better 🤤🤤 After eating I think I’ll still give this place a 5 star review although the rotisserie chicken, in my humble opinion could have been more crispy and flavorful. Overall the side dishes were wonderful. I would definitely come back when in the area.
Bossie’s kitchen is my favorite local restaurant! It’s very cozy and unassuming, but the food and service are great every time. I love all the warm touches like the plants and string lights. My favorite dish is the tamarind fried chicken sandwich, and the baked goods are always a lovely treat. I recommend Bossie’s for a cozy, low-key lunch or dinner with your partner or a couple of friends 🩷
What a lovely place! I just recently tried it for the first time and had such a pleasant experience. Service was warm and welcoming, food delicious and atmosphere sweet. Thumbs up for Bossie‘s Kitchen!
First time here and I have been missing out! The farmers market veggies with polenta from the brunch menu was perfect. It was comforting and still felt good for me. My husband got the pork belly sandwich it was "perfect." Definitely a new regular spot for us.
The. Food. Every bite was a new, unexpected flavor. Some things that appeared basic were outrageously divine, and others were exactly as amazing as anticipated. The pastries were incredible. Eat here if you're in Santa Barbara
First time! Each person's meal was excellent, with all ingredients locally sourced.
Bossie's Kitchen is located a few min away from The Santa Barbara Bowl. Cozy atmosphere. I appreciate the efficiency and friendliness of the staff.
Embarrassingly, this was my first visit to Bossie's, since we haven't really explored the Milpas corridor much. Once we found out they had a dog friendly patio, it flew to the top of our lunch list. Everything was fantastic. We went on a Friday around 1p and there was plenty of seating. It's a high traffic area, so expect some road noise. Area street parking was pretty full, but we found a spot about a block away. Will definitely add Bossie's to our rotation.
If you're in Santa Barbara, you can't miss Bossie's Kitchen for either lunch or dinner - both are great! Every time we're in town we make a stop or two if time allows. The staff is friendly and courteous, outdoor seating is nice, and the dishes are consistently excellent. I've enjoyed everything I've tried on the menu and would also recommend the specials as those have also been quite delicious. The food and vibe here are great!

Bossies is the best and their food is so fresh! Christina and Lauren are always so welcoming and their food never disappoints! Their Chicken Pot Pies are the biggest hit with my 93 year old father as they make these from scratch each week and are amazing!

Great place to grab large portion for lunch if you are in the Milpas area. We would have liked the chicken more crispy, maybe it was not roasted enough? The portions are big! I love the inside atmosphere and deco. The donuts are the best in Santa Barbara.
Visiting the area stopped here for lunch to takeout. I ordered the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich. Also selected a Berry Pistachio donut, A Chocolate Pistachio Sea Salt Cruller, and a Brown Butter-Miso Walnut Sesame cookie. The sandwich was fabulous. Great flavors would definitely get that again. The sweets though weren't my favorite. Especially at that price point I was expecting amazing. And the flavors just weren't there for me. I wish I could have tried the Passion Fruit Coconut donut but it was sold out already. And the Brown Butter Vanilla Cruller was all taken by a group of ladies in front of me and they were raving about those. Also, when I got home the Berry donut had no frosting on it because it was stuck to the inside of the bag they slide them into so that was also disappointing. But it's a cute restaurant. Love the atmosphere inside and out. And very friendly staff.
I had a late dinner with my husband. He had a burger which was quite good. I had chicken with salad. Didn’t like the chicken, it had no taste at all and lacked seasoning, although it was supposed to be garlic crusted. On top of that it was very dry and the gravy provided was not enough for the whole portion. However, as the place was about to close, we were offered a free doughnut, which was delicious.

Food was decent, service wasn't. After ordering it seemed like we were forgotten about. When our food (finally) arrived, the staff forgot part of our order. That part also took a long time to get to us. We asked for a refill on waters, and one of our glasses only got filled halfway. It wasn't that busy - maybe two tables outside and 3-4 inside with customers. The table behind us seemed to be getting prompt service, so I'm not sure of their secret. Not coming back, pretty disappointed.

We drove from Long Beach for a concert last Saturday. We have been wanting to go to Bossie’s for a while now. We checked the website - reservations are only required for 6+. We got there at 5 pm and the entire restaurant was reserved. Which is fine, but the reservations were for parties less than 6 people. So, the 1 star is because the website is deceiving - the guy at the front was also very confused. We could’ve reserved a table for 2 weeks in advance. Most restaurants will do first come first served for small tables and leave the reservations for big parties. TIP: YOU DO NEED A RESERVATION!

They closed 15 minutes before their hours posted on Google. The hostess seated me at 1:44 and then returned in a few minutes to tell me that the kitchen had closed and they wouldn't serve me. They've lost me as a customer forever. If you say you are open till 2, stay open till 2. I went just down the street and another restaurant closing at 2 served me with a smile.
