Opinions de Cat Therapy Santa Barbara
This was a great spot to go visit some feline companions during our month away from home. It is a cool setup with lots of spots for the kitties and toys you can use to temp them. We got there during afternoon nap time, so less active, but still enjoyable and sponsors a good cause.
I loved it. Perfect for cat persons that can’t own a cat for whatever the reason (ME). Perfect to sit relax and enjoy the environment. It was fairly clean as clean as you can have a cat area. You get in pay, take your shoes off, put the optional socks they offer if you want or not. You get in the cat area, sit down anywhere and wait for the cats to come to you or you can sit near them and wait patiently for their cuddles. There’s a $12 15 min option or an hour for I forgot the $$ amount. I recommend it to anyone that is an animal lover or cat lover. Enjoy!!!
Highly recommend this cat cafe, it is really well-maintained and the cats are so sweet. Make sure to book a time slot online if you want to guarantee entry, but walk-ins are fine too when space is available. There are also some gift shop items that you can purchase - I made sure to grab some toys for my own cats before I left!
One of my favorite spots to visit downtown! Has the best atmosphere and the cats are all so cute and sweet! Would highly recommend to anyone considering going and who loves cats!
This was a very unique experience. My daughter enjoyed every second of it and was worth the reservation. The environment was calm and relaxing, to just sit there and pet the sleepy cats. They had many cats inside that each had their own personality. The cats are free to roam around. Some were calm while others were playful. If you are looking to adopt and spend time with a cat this would be a great idea to try. The employee there at the time of our reservation was very kind and welcoming. Great place for any age group. Will definitly be returning again.
A Purr-fect Experience at Kat Therapy in Santa Barbara I recently had the opportunity to visit Kat Therapy in Santa Barbara, and I can't help but express my deep gratitude for this wonderful sanctuary. For those seeking a peaceful retreat filled with feline friends, this is the place to be. Kat Therapy isn't just a cat house; it's a haven for both humans and cats alike. From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped in a serene atmosphere where cats roam freely, play, and nap as they please. The joy of interacting with these lovely creatures is immeasurable. It's a unique experience where you can sit and cuddle with a cat, play with a group of them, or simply observe their quirky behaviors—all while they enjoy a safe and loving environment. What's truly admirable about Kat Therapy is its mission. The cats here are adoptable, and the whole point of this establishment is to provide cat therapy while also finding forever homes for these adorable animals. The small fee for entry is a small price to pay for the happiness and relaxation you receive in return. Moreover, this fee goes directly towards the care of the cats, including their food and maintenance, ensuring that they can continue rescuing cats from shelters. The staff at Kat Therapy deserve a special mention for their dedication and the success they've achieved in the adoptions. Their passion for the welfare of these cats is evident in the way they maintain the space and care for the animals. It's clear that they are not just doing a job; they are fulfilling a calling to make a difference in the lives of both pets and people. During my visit, I was touched by the tranquility and therapeutic atmosphere that only the presence of cats can provide. It's a heartwarming experience to see cats who may have once been without a home now receiving love and attention, with the potential to join a loving family. In conclusion, Kat Therapy in Santa Barbara is more than just a cat cafe—it's a community service and a therapeutic getaway rolled into one. Whether you're a cat lover, looking for some stress relief, or considering adding a feline to your family, this place is a must-visit. You'll leave with a full heart, knowing that your patronage helps keep this beautiful cycle of rescue and adoption going. I wholeheartedly recommend Kat Therapy to anyone looking for a dose of joy and the chance to make a positive impact on the lives of these charming animals.
I love this cat place. All the cats there were super kind and playful, I loved all the cats but my favorite cat was named Zod. The employee there was also very nice. I really liked this place and I think you should go too.
I paid a visit to Cat Therapy while in Santa Barbara and I’m so happy I did. It was cute, had a chill vibe, lots of cute kitties and plenty of toys to engage with the cats. I didn’t catch her name, but the girl running the front desk was very kind and friendly as well. I would definitely recommend this to friends and I will be sure to visit if ever in the area again. Such a great idea and a great way to let people engage with cats that are thinking of adopting. Loved what you guys are doing! Thank you!
Had an appointment for 4:15p, most were still napping. Was able to still pet and play with a few. Facility was clean and cats were very happy, looked well taken care of. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Cat therapy visit last June 2024. Relief cats immediately showed us their differing personalities. Staff was very informative and helpful. Great to support such a worthy social business.
What a wonderful cat cafe in Santa Barbara. We went on a Friday morning and got 25 to hang out with their many cats. We were able to walk in but they do advise reservations. They also have fun stickers, shirts, catnip and even cat hair clips! Highly recommend!
Denise at Cat Therapy Santa Barbara was a delight. I got to pet some delightful cats and the place smelled really cat neutral! The place is very clean, well-managed, and has a great atmosphere. Thank you for letting us stop in, window shop, and leave with a smile. Catch you soon! 😻🐾 check out my Instagram @jkroyality
My daughter was so happy to visit Cat Therapy! There were 10-11 cats that we could find (they were sleeping in nooks or up high). They were mostly happy to let us rub tummies and heads but essentially wanted to be left alone. They became much more curious when we took out what must have been a popular toy because many came to us and engaged. We have a rescue who is skittish so we knew how to interact but having them engage made it more enjoyable. The place is open and airy with benches and chairs to sit on. Comfortable and clean - no cat hair or litter tracking. We don't know the area but I would have been happy to get us tea or coffee and sit and just be with the cats. My daughter was happy as a clam just to sit and be still and definitely wants to return. Three things that I'd note: There is a smell. Not terrible but noticeable when you arrive (I just didn't expect it - which was naive). One of the cats had a cold, was sneezing repeatedly and were worried about that. A family came by and was at the window outside with little kids and they were tapping at the window and the parents or grandparents lifted the children to stand on the window ledges. They were loud and annoying to us - I can only imagine the cats. It was a nuisance and intrusive. Perhaps a sign and/or the attendant might have told them to not tap the window as it's stressful for the cats? That may be normal practice but the attendant said she was subbing and didn't have a lot of knowledge or info to share. All in all - we recommend and will revisit. We hope many more cats and rescued and adopted through Cat Therapy. *** post response from CT - thank you for letting us know. We are so glad they are on the mend!
What an amazing place. I love that you can visit adoptable cats here.
best hour of my life! the woman helping us was so sweet, and we basically had the room to ourselves! it was nice and quiet and calm and the kitties enjoyed spending time on our laps! we left feeling relaxed i want to go back asap!
My family loved , loved, loved! Couldn't get my kids out of the room after they played already for an hour! Cats can be adopted right there in place! Stuff was very kind and nice! We are going to visit our new friends now more often!
I came for a visit this past Sunday for a private party and had such a great time. It is a very comfortable space, and the cats are so sweet. There were cats with all different types of personalities and it was really relaxing experience. I hope to visit again soon!
My daughter and I have made it a tradition that we visit a cat cafe in each area we travel to. For Santa Barbara, that led us to Cat Therapy. It's such a wonderful space, so bright, and welcoming. I absolutely adore that the cats have access to windows and open space areas instead of being locked behind doors. And each cat was so unique and loving. The staff was kind and helpful as well. We had a wonderful time!

My daughter (14) LOVES cats, and has dreamed of visiting a place like Cat Therapy her entire life, so she was more than excited to get the opportunity to stop by this amazing spot on our weekend getaway. I enjoy cats, but never thought I would pay to hang out with them, but I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable experiences!! We absolutely loved our time and thank you to the staff for being so kind and providing such a relaxing and enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back for another visit!

My son and I came to visit during our vacation here. We've never been to anything like this and we love cats. We have two furbabies at home. While i found it relaxing to be around other cats, my son found it difficult to enjoy at first because a lot of the cats were sleeping, and the few that were awake were getting attention from other kids that were there, and then when those kids left, those specific cats also fell asleep. It happens, and he did ask to come again next time. We may try an earlier time instead of the afternoon hours and see if the cats are more awake. Very cute setup tho and there were a variety of toys to choose from to play with the cats. Would highly recommend visiting!

Animals chilled, well behaved and available for adoption. Cost of $40 per hour ($20 per 30 mins) was a little steep, but if it helps the cats and gives them either a cushy life or a loving forever home, It's all good.
