Opinions de Finch & Fork Santa Barbara
Pretty decent nice place. Went with Jamie before out Santa Barbara meeting. Had the prime rib sandwich, the special for Monday. Ok. Very greasy. I actually liked the seared ahi salad a little better. Good dressing. Didn’t blow me away but a decent spot. Would go back.
I came here for breakfast with family but lunch starts at 11am so we sat and had an excellent lunch. Everything our party ordered was delicious from the salads, avocado toast with salmon, and the B.L.A.T.. I happened to order the mixed greens salad with 🍅 tomatoes, paper thin sliced radishes and carrot 🥕 slivers and a presliced grilled chicken breast 🐔. . I've never had a better salad. Our server was excellebt and I highly recommend this place.
😋😋😋 mouth watering thinking about it. I had a lovely Chardonnay. The calamari was very good! The waiter was very kind. Top level customer service. His recommendations were fire. He said the pork chop was the best on the menu. I NEVER order pork chop, Ever! But that day I did and let me tell you, that was the best pork chop I have ever had. Th bacon and apple bits were so so good! A must try. I wish I lived closer to go have it again.
Food was great, staff was on point. Our accommodations were met.
An absolute gem of a place for brunch. F&F has a nice old timey casual vibe with the leather seats and plantation shutters. It feels like going back in time a bit, all while you're in downtown Santa Barbara. The service was really fast and with a smile. The real center piece of this place though is the cinnamon french toast. The pistachio granola adds an absolutely different dimension to the French toast and is really the star of their menu. If you're looking for a easy going weekend brunch place, the F&F delivers
Great restaurant attached to the Kimpton Canary Hotel. Staff was excellent and friendly and the food was delicious. We had both a dinner there (the black cod in coconut curry was a great choice) and breakfast (definitely get the short rib sweet potato hash). Surprise highlight are the deviled eggs. We loved them so much we had them twice. And the foccacia bread is light, fluffy, and filled with delicious herbiness. Since we booked through Chase's The Edit program, we had credits toward both meals, which certainly made the cost more reasonable, but I would say that the restaurant is good enough that I would have happily paid full price.
Finch & Fork restaurant is inside the Kimpton Canary Hotel; an IHG chain. It’s a great restaurant with great menu choices that satisfies all tastes. We had the 12 ounces steak 🥩; it was tender and delicious. The wild caught Salmon 🍣 was not fishy at all. The Caesar salad 🥗 was really tasty and fresh. Breakfast is (ok) for my taste. I had breakfast there because it was included. Otherwise, I wouldn’t go there for breakfast again. Thanks to Robert and Erick and his team for a great service 🙏🌹
Went here recently with my family to celebrate my mother's birthday because we have been multiple times before and she expressed this was one of her favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. Specifically the Brussels Sprouts! Sadly, the Brussels sprouts were no longer on the menu as they were our favorite dish, gone. Even the waiter agreed and was unsure why they removed them from the menu. However, that truly did not ruin our experience at all. We ordered quite a bit of things and enjoyed the night because everything was good! We ordered the deviled eggs, which were small and nothing too crazy, but a good option to share for the table! We also ordered the kung pao cauliflower. Now this dish, took us all by complete surprise and quite honestly, stole the show for the whole night. We legit ended up ordering 3 in total because of how good these were. The sauce, the crunch on the cauliflower, the little spice backed by sweet, this was some bomb cauliflower. Would ABSOLUTELY come back just for this dish truly. We all would! The Tomato Veloute, Pork Chop, Short Rib Pappardelle, Scallops and Catch of the Day were all very tasty and good options! Oysters are amazing. A great amount of liquor in them! My only suggestion would definitely be the broccolini. We each took 1-2 bites, just not good. It barely had any flavor and almost tasted like it was undercooked. Would not recommend it, but definitely does not overshadow the rest of the phenomenal dishes. Highly recommend it for a good night out with friends and family and you MUST get the Kung Pao Cauliflower. HAVE TO!
Ordered room service from here at the Kimpton Canary Hotel. The service was quick and the food was phenomenal. I loved every single thing I tried. The bacon breakfast burrito was delicious and all the ingredients inside were cooked perfectly. The avocado toast was so flavorful and refreshing. The French fries had a perfect texture. The smoked salmon bagel was loaded and the salmon was very fresh. Not pictured is the OPP brunch cocktail and that was also a delicious, light cocktail to get your day started. I highly recommend this restaurant. Will definitely be back
We’re from out of town on our honeymoon and saw this restaurant on Google and it looked great! The Poblano burger I had was excellent. I typically eat fast (thanks military!) but this burger had so many layers of flavor to it. You have to dissect the taste of each bite. It’s complex and delicious. The fries were the perfect amount of crispy and salty, also complex in its flavor. Food came quickly from the kitchen! Jaime, our server was attentive and polite. The atmosphere is quiet, modern, and minimal
Classy spot with great food and incredible service. We visited to try the new Vegan items on their SB Vegan Chef challenge menu, and we were not disappointed. We got the tostadas from the challenge menu + the mushroom dan dan noodles and the beluga lentils from their normal dinner menu. It was all out of this world delicious. I would go back for the dan dan noodles everyday if I could. They also have amazing mocktails and NA beer. I tried the Spicy AF mocktail with zero proof tequila and was pleasantly surprised. We went on a Monday evening and it was pretty quiet so we got above and beyond service from our server and the manager. The location is stunning. The walk down to the bathroom is gorgeous. I’d come back anytime!
My friend and I went to Finch and Folk for Happy Hour on Sunday. Sun-Thursday, their Happy hour is from 4-6. Drinks are $10. They also have menu items you can purchase. The bartender was friendly and helpful. We ordered deviled eggs and Mac 'n Cheese. The bar is beautiful and fully stocked. You can sit in the lounge area on comfy seats or at the bar. The bathrooms are located down the stairs, or by elevator. We had dinner reservations for 5 p.m. as we were going to see Nickel Creek at the Granada Theatre. My friend had Scallops and Peaches and Burrata Cheese. I had a dish with Cauliflower and Purple Potatoes. I spent around 30 dollars for dinner and my friend spent around 60 dollars for her dinner and dessert. Our waiter was fun. He had a wonderful personality and was a huge help in serving us and getting us out the door to our concert. The dining room is beautiful and well-appointed. Please see the attached photos.
Did not disappoint. Birthday dinner turned date night was excellent. King salmon hit the spot, one of the best salads I’ve had. Service and staff made this a night to remember.
The food was great. I went here for the first time with my grandmother. I got the French toast, it was very good. I ordered it with a side of chicken. The whole meal was very expensive. Which is okay but it did not taste that way. I would not come here again.
Finch in Fork, is a fantastic restaurant. I am a picky eater and no joking, when I went there for my first time, I wanted to return, the next day. For weeks every time I made dinner all I kept thinking is I want the Fried Chicken Oysters from Finch and Fork, which are super tender and crisp without being oily and the honey drizzle on it, makes a persons tastebuds so happy!!! From the small plates, to entrées, wine selection, unique an extremely tasty drinks, to delightful desserts, there is seriously something for everyone. The staff only makes the experience there that much better, such as David the bartender and Gabby one of the servers. If you are a locate and haven’t gone there yet, be prepared to want to go back again and again. If you are a visitor make it one of your stops, it is worth every penny.
Adding to this review, Smashed Avocado w/salmon and Shakshuka were amazing. Brunch was amazing, eggs Benny are a must! Lemon Ricotta pancakes...chefs kiss.
We were staying in Canary Kimpton hotel and had breakfast twice and one dinner in this restaurant. It's very nice. My son had French toast from the kid's menu 2 times. Oatmeal is good, eggs Benedict are really good. Only one thing was not right — they ran out of hot chocolate when we came the first time. But the milkshake made a deal.

Friendly and professional staff. Delicious with fresh ingredients brunch. My hubby got a the brioche french toast & was absolutely delighted. I had the salmon bagel. I loved the unique spin with the chipotle cream cheese. Definitely recommend if in the area for a brunch.
Finch & Fork hits all of the marks for food and service! Great bar to watch TV and the fine dining room is exquisite. Food was the absolute bright spot though! Every dish was phenomenal. Can’t wait to go back!
Wife's chicken sandwich "punched her in the face with flavor". My eggs Benedict were great, even the potatoes that came with it were delicious.

We visited hoping to enjoy the “Cork & Cow Wednesday” offer. When we asked the waitress about it—calling it “happy hour” by mistake—she only mentioned that happy hour ended at 5 PM and didn’t explain further. Later, my boyfriend went back to ask more specifically, and she admitted she didn’t know about the promotion at all and responded rather unfriendly. When we sat down, she took a long time to come over, didn’t bring menus, and asked if we were ready to order—without us knowing the wine options. Only after we asked did she bring the list. She explained it was her first Wednesday, but never really apologized. We ordered an expensive bottle of wine, which she poured without offering a tasting and even spilled slightly. She kept returning to pour more, even into full glasses, and tried to take the bottle while it wasn’t empty. The food, wine, and the promotion itself were excellent—but the service unfortunately didn’t match the standard expected for such an upscale place.
Great spot to grab a quick bite, and a hot or cold drink. If your food and drink is to go, wait by the window. I made the mistake a while back and was looking around, and someone took my drinks. I did not know that. I asked for my drinks and they said I took them. I did not. Then I had to prove I didn't. What?? They finally realized I was telling the truth and re-made them. Ample parking.
Came here during Brunch, sadly a lot of the good food that we saw on reviews were not available during Brunch, they have a rather selective Brunch menu. The food was good and fresh, but would've rather gone somewhere else for more selection. I would also come back during normal hours to try their other dishes.
The quality of the food is seriously 5/5 and the portion sizes are very fair. The service is good too, no problems with that at all. However, the only reason for the four stars is simply because the restaurant needs to hire more servers, sometimes the place can get packed and there will be literally one server for all tables(~10+ tables), which increases wait times. Santa Barbara is a vacation spot, so these wait times might not bother most people, but it is a fair critique to note. Otherwise, the service is good. The servers are professional and considerate! Even providing accommodations if needed, like iced-coffee. One of my favorite brunch choices was the almond butter & banana(take a look at the photo I provided). The quality of the food was consistent, every time.
Very good food (if a bit pricey), and you can't beat the convenience if you're staying at the hotel as well. My husband and I ordered the wild mushroom flatbread as an app, the rainbow trout and fresh ricotta cavatelli for mains, and the fire roasted milk shake and an espresso for dessert. Everything was very tasty, the milk shake especially was a fun and different kind of dessert. The wine pairings were great and the server was very attentive to all of the large group we came in with. I wish they had a few more options for our vegan guests, they struggled a bit to find something to eat.
I would have never guessed this was part of a hotel 🏨😮! Such a fun spot for brunch 🥞✨. They had a unique twist on classic recipes 🍳🍠—everything was refreshing, tasty, and full of flavor 😋🌿. You can tell the ingredients are high quality and super fresh. Our server Erik was amazing 🙌—so attentive and kind. Big thank you to him for making the experience even better! 💙👏 Definitely a hidden gem I’d come back to! 🌟🍴
I enjoyed my brunch at Finch & Fork. One of the reasons why I chose this place was for their rooftop dining. When I made reservations on OpenTable, I was confused at the seating options. I tried calling, but no one picked up and frankly my friend and I wanted to try this place anyway. The rooftop dining was only during the height of the pandemic. The dining room is now only by the lobby. The decor is nice. Definitely shows that it’s a hotel restaurant. But service was very nice and we got our food quickly. I got the shakshuka, and it was yummy. The eggs were nicely poached - the yolk was runny and added a richness to the spicy tomato sauce. I like the chucks of avocado. The bread with the tomato sauce, egg yolk, and avocado was the perfect bite. Many patrons took advantage of their bottomless mimosa deal, and I think that’s the biggest draw. I ordered coffee and that was nice on a cool Fiesta morning. I think this is a nice place to dine if you’re staring at the hotel. Otherwise, as someone who frequents Santa Barbara, I might not go out of my way to dine here. The menu has mostly a standard brunch fare. And maybe there’s standout dishes their dinner menu. But I’d pass on brunch unless you want bottomless mimosas.
Very nice restaurant inside a hotel building. The interior is airy and simply but elegantly decorated. They set up a table for our large group and we had great time. The food selection was limited but good quality. Our orders were messed up and service was slow but they fixed it immediately. We will come back again when in town

Lovely place, attentive service. The New York steak was yummy, but at the price, we expected a better plating. Sadly the duck breast, while beautifully presented on a parsnip puree with roasted grapes, was a letdown. There was at least an inch of inedible flabby skin on each piece of the oddly cut breast. So removing the skin left a small amount of edible breast. What there was was good but left me wanting more. The roasted grapes were left on the branches, tasted old rather than roasted. For the price, I would expect a better job.
Upon arrival we were greeted by a moody waiter, who kept us waiting for a table for at least 15 minutes because he said that they were not ready. As we were talking and having a good time we didn’t really pay attention. When we were seated we got another waiter, who was friendly and gave us our menus. There was no one in the restaurant except two other tables. He didn’t come back to take out orders for the drinks for at least 20 minutes, again we didn’t have rally pay attention because we were chatting away. After 20 minutes we got our orders in for the food and drinks. (Tea and coffee), that took again at least 20 minutes to arrive. Then we start really noticing that the waiters were just not there. When I started looking for them to ask them where our drinks were, I went everywhere but they were not to be found. When I made a comment that it took a long while when he brought our drinks finally, he said that it takes a long time to make??? Very rude attitude towards us. Food was great. We just moved here and food wise we would definitely have come back several times. Due to the two rude and moody waiters, we won’t.
We came to Finch & Fork for breakfast. The restaurant/hotel was beautiful but the server told us they were out of coffee. Our food took 30 minutes to arrive. The short ribs and hash were delicious. The avocado toast was "ok" The two order of pancakes were cold and dry. The poached eggs in the Shakshuka were overcooked into hard boiled eggs. The sauce was not great and the whole dish was cold.
I called in advance and asked if I can bring my dog to the restaurant. They said yes. I asked once again at the front if I can come in with my dog and they said yes. Later, a manager came and said they don’t allow dogs inside and it’s the California Law. He added he understands how it can be confusing since the hotel lets in dogs as if we hadn’t asked the staff. He told us we can eat in the lobby and left. Understandable but no one redirected us to where we can sit in the lobby. We weren’t really given an option to cancel our order even though I shared with the front lobby I’m not sure if I want to stay and eat at the lobby. Staff was nice but I’m pretty unhappy how the manager seemed very unapologetic and we had to eat right by the hotel door instead of being given the option to cancel and leave.
We came for brunch and ordered the pork belly benedict. The food was acceptable but exceptional. Service was good but it was far too expensive. The bill came out to $60 for two benedicts and coffee which were only mediocre. Rating would have been 3 stars if not for being so over priced.
Food was ok, not great. What was very strange is they were out of coffee beans and seemed to think that was ok. Coffee is a pretty important thing at breakfast for a lot of people. Maybe go buy some beans at the store. Strange enough for a breakfast restaurant to not have coffee, but for a hotel to be out and not look to remedy the situation was even more odd.

Finch & Fork advertised a special New Year’s Eve dinner with live jazz, so we gave it a go. Very disappointing. Despite the high price tag, there was zero effort to create a festive atmosphere; it felt pretty dull. The servers all seemed harried and under pressure, which doesn’t help the vibe. We were seated so far from the advertised jazz band that we could barely hear them, which was probably not a bad thing. The food tasted okay, but left us feeling mostly underwhelmed. Definitely not worth the ridiculous premium for a drab New Year’s Eve dinner. We had folks join us from out of town and I even felt a tad embarrassed at how flat this was. Luckily we landed up going to a live music venue after, which salvaged the night a bit.

I was disappointed by my recent experience at Finch & Ford. For a restaurant boasting premium seafood and located in a nice hotel, it failed to deliver on food or service. The oysters we ordered to start were terrible - gritty and flavorless. Send these back to the sea! And the supposedly signature scallops were a disaster. They were undercooked with a gummy texture and filled with sand which ruined the experience. For the high price, unacceptable. The rest of our meal was mediocre at best. For these prices, we expect and deserve exceptional execution. Making matters worse was the lackluster service. Our server forgot to put in one of our orders and was nowhere to be found when we needed drink refills.
