Opinions de Kanaloa Seafood Santa Barbara
This is the second visit to Kanaloa Seafood that I’ve done and both times the food is incredible and very fresh . Laid back no frills outdoor patio with umbrellas for a quick stop while enjoying the freshly made tacos . This time I chose the Korean Salmon tacos with a refreshing slaw and a very good aioli with kimchi. The salmon is nicely cooked or braised (?) in the sauce making this a desirable taco . Last time I got the swordfish tacos which were equally amazing . Parking can be a bit tricky but if you go around the block a couple times something opens up . Will definitely be back here when I’m back to Santa Barbara .
Popped in for a quick lunch while I was on the road. The classic oysters were delicious, really next level. Salmon burger was also solid, just a bit dry for my taste. Regardless, it was a great meal and the service was pleasant and fast!
On our ride on PCH, stoped at Santa Barbara for recharge. Find this nice place. We loved food ! Oysters were delicious!! Fresh and tasty! Freshest we had in a long time! Poke and tacos exceptional 🤌🏼 Clam chowder soup just pass… I don’t think there is any clams in it. Potato and what ever else but no sea creatures in it .
I got the tofu bowl. The tofu was perfect, fluffy and crisp. It was so good. Staff is super nice. I enjoyed this place
Group order of Fish and Chips, Salmon Club, Half + Half Poke, and Crispy Fish Tacos. The battered fish in the fish and chips were the best battered fish I've had. The batter is not overdone and the fish retains it's original appearance inside, the meat clings together really well. The same fish is also found in the crispy fish tacos. The side of chips (fries) are also part of the Salmon Club which have a very good potato consistency inside and a crisp exterior fry. The salmon in the sandwich was very hearty and you can see the quality of the salmon in presentation. The Half + Half Poke was also a good choice, the tuna was especially smooth and soft. Parking here may be a bit rough on site but fortunately there is street parking nearby and a shopping center parking lot across the street.
What a great find during our recent trip to SB! This place is just of the beaten path of Lower State Street, but ABSOLUTELY worth the slight detour. The food is FRESH - probably the best Poke Bowl I've ever had, and their Fish Tacos live up to the hype and awards!
Great poke, fresh fish. Decent fish tacos.
We loved Kanaloa. We came by after visiting the SB Mission. They have fresh seafood and amazing service. I adored my tacos and my partner loved his mussels. They had several good beer options. This place was VERY clean. Like absurdly clean. Thank you for a wonderful meal and afternoon!
Fresh ingredients make for great fish tacos and Poke bowls. Pictured is the Swordfish tacos. Fantastic seasoning and swordfish flavor. One of the best meals of our trip.
The Crispy Fish tacos here are super delicious of perfect crispness and fresh flavors of the sea and land …pico de gallo salsa with pineapple for me the aioli sauce could of been just a tad spicier but the lady added a 6 premium order of oysters to enjoy and guess what…I added horseradish from the oysters on to my last fish taco and boy was that a tremendous explosion of spicy flavors…perfectly I’d say!! Oysters were delivered quickly and deliciously enjoyed paired with a Maui Pineapple Mana wheat beer…Because of the nice hot climate I asked for a cup of ice to poor my beer in and seriously….Happy combination I’d say!! So if you’re in the Santa Barbara area looking for great fresh seafood…Kanaloa Seafood is where you’d like to go…they do have parking lot., but if there isn’t any there not to worry there’s plenty of parking around corner or down street to local parking lots…prices very reasonable. Staff here very polite and place is super clean…there’s seating indoors and outdoor patio dining oh and a super from me to having clean bathrooms…that’s a plus 🙌being my first time eating here and enjoy their food…I’ll definitely come again and enjoy their fish burgers which looked amazing too…well next time🌻💯❤️
Literally couldn’t dream up a more delightful spot! Beautiful setting, excellent customer service and FRESH AF seafood. This was the highlight of my trip to Santa Barbara. Highly recommend.
Korean salmon and swordfish jerk tacos were amazing!! Super fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Fish sandwich that our neighbors got looked really good too.
Good fish tacos, quick service. Order at the counter. Had the swordfish jerk tacos and fried fish. My 3 year old enjoyed her fish taco also.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice seafood restaurant to go to. Accidentally, came across this place and was very pleased with everything. The food was great, the service was amazing and the ambiance felt very causal and very clean. They also focused a lot of recycling and proper disposal of your trash after the meal, which we found to be impressive. Not many places do that these days!
Very high quality seafood both prepared (vgood fish tacos, great poke bowls) and unprepared to cook at home in my experience. Inside is very basic, outside is fine.

This was an unexpected meal choice (point your finger and go where it lands sort of deal) and I was pretty happy with it. Serving sizes are good and it's tasty eats. My partner got the swordfish tacos and sung their praises, my MIL got the seafood pasta dish and it was a hearty serving, I got an app for dinner - the smoked salmon plate - and didn't have any major complaints. We also had the guac and while it was a tad one-note in terms of flavor, it was definitely refreshing in the heat of the weekend. I would like to go back and try more of the menu and maybe check out the fish market options in general for some at-home cookin'. Not a bad joint if you're looking for something off the main drag in Santa Barbara!

We visited and ordered the following for our lunch: Fish and Chips Fishwich Total: $50.04 with tips We’re looking forward to trying the seafood they're offering because of the great reviews from Google Maps. However, overall, we’re not so pleased with the flavor. Especially with the battered fish, you can't taste the flavor of the fish apart from the fact that it’s deep-fried. The sauces helped to elevate the flavor. The fries were good except for the potato chips. We thought what we ordered was too pricey in terms of quality. The ambiance was great, and the service was all right.
Half + Half (1st pic) was the better choice, Yuzu missed the Avo (2nd pic) and didn't have enough of the sauce compared to the fish/rice ratio. Fish was otherwise fresh. Buttered Noodles, just that, would probably taste better if fully cooked through. Order at the counter and food served rather quick, no checking in after delivering the food. $3 corkage charge but do have drink options available.

I started doing reviews in 2020 to help restaurants. I rarely give anything but 5 stars. It hurts me to do anything less. But, this time I have to let you know. I am a big Calamari and Oyster fan. I've eaten them all over SB. I'm sad to say, this was sad. The Calamari was the greasiest I've ever had. I think the oil was old. It was 👎. The oysters were ok. We got the standard and premiem; $33 total for a dozen. 6 of our oysters were the size of a quarter/dime; no joke. The premium were ok. $78 for 2 appetizers and 2 beers is UNACCEPTABLE. I will never return. The staff was rude, complacent and didn't want to please anyone. One 🌟 is probably more accurate.
Terrible experience with their home delivery service. I ordered 5 pounds their clams and the clams arrive dripping wet on my floor and smell bad. I open the wet box and found out the clams were terribly packed. No bags, no insulation box, just a fish net and two packs of dry ice! So half of the clams were dead (opened and no response when pinch it ). I contacted the owner and she said she is going to refund me the dead clams. However, nothing has been refunded. I called them a few days later and left a message. No response! In fact, the remain clams keep dying when I wash them and I end up throw them all in the trash just in case they may cause food poisoning. This home delivery order including $25 shipping costed me over $80! What a terrible experience! Will never order from them again!

The customer service is laughable. I understand the lunch rush is very busy, however it's no excuse to not at least aknowledge the customer. We were standing there for 5 minutes. Marie, you need to address the customer when there are any issues regarding the order. If a customer makes an online order and makes a note to "add avocado" resulting in this not being charged on the order, the incorrect way to handle this is to mutter "they don't get avocado because they didn't pay for it". The correct way is to face the customer, communicate the problem, and offer a solution. A simple "The avocado was not charged, if you would like to include it is $X amount." The food was great, such a shame the customer service is subpar.
