Excellent authentic food. The flour tortillas are exceptional.
Very good tortillas and the fish Soup wooow amazing
Working my way through their remarkable and eclectic menu with undiminished pleasure.
I used to get burritos here in High School during lunch. #TimeCapsule
Best Tamales in SB and amazing salsa's!
Very authentic. Best food in town
This is authentic Mexican food, good prices, love it!!!!!!!!!!
Good food, best menudo in Santa Barbara
Closest to authentic Mexican cuisine you can get in Santa Barbara. Everything is delicious including their mole, enchiladas, and flautas. My favorite though are their quesadillas al pastor and chorizo con papas.
So far every time I go to this place anything i get is very Delicious. As if everything is freshly made like home cooked meal.
Fabulous fresh, homemade tortillas and tamales. They have the best tortillas in town! Great place to get a load of tamales to bring home for a gathering.
I love all their food, especially the handmade tortillas. I call in my order and it's always ready on the time they tell you. I love it.
Tucked away in the back of the small parking lot is this Santa Barbara iconic establishment. Walk in and enjoy the local business ambiance.
This place is no joke. Great tasting and a wonderful staff. Enjoy if you can.
Always awesome food and great prices. I haven't been disappointed yet.
One of the hidden gems of Mexican food in Santa Barbara. Food here is the best tasting
Best place for "home style" food ❤️ barbacoa tacos is the business!!
Amazing food, we occasionally drive up from Lompoc just to go here
Good food good flavor
Menudo lots of meat, good taste no hominy tho
I've been here a few times now. The caldo de rez is my favorite so far! Tastes homemade and there's a lot of it. Comes with lemon wedges, onions, cilantro, and red chile to mix in, as well as fresh tortillas. The beef has some fat (probably what makes it so good), so people who are THAT concerned should probably try something else. You know it's legit when you're the only one in there who's not a native Spanish speaker!
Every time I visit Santa Barbara and want dank Mexican food, I head here. Friendly ordering process, lots of variety, and open most of the time. And don't forget to grab something from their bakery! Gracias amigos :)

This wonderful family serves barbacoa on the weekends, and they have three "tiers," if you will. Their bottom tier cut is still better than most places' best cut. They also have three sizes of "Mexican coke."
Love this little place, absolutely terrific Mexican pastries and full on meals. (Their tamales are awesome, but I probably shouldn't tell you about them cuz they run out!)
We made it just in time for fresh tortillas! The bread we bought was tasty too! Super friendly local spot for pan dulce. Loved it all :] Just wish the parking lot had better parking but it didn't scare is away. It isn't their fault anyway.
Great place to eat Great place for bread Great place for tamales Friendly people - I've been going there for years
Good food , customer service. Unfortunately restroom is near the kitchen, very slippery to cross. But I prefer to order and take home. Sometimes in the internet say close but if you go over is open. I ask about and they say that sometimes goggle put it it close.
It's a great place to come for birria and consume tacos! Hands down the best place I've birria so far the tender shredded meat with the thick delicious broth and of all things hand made tortillas. You wont regret stopping by

Very small but lots of tasty options.

Foods good but overpriced. Sometimes I don't know how old the meat is.
The bread there its really hard and not good to eat, imyou can really taste the egg
I usually order beans and rice here but the rice has gotten really oily and the beans don't taste too good. The restaurant atmosphere is not all that great either. The food may not look good but I give it a 3 at most.
The food was good overall! I stopped in for the first time today and ordered the chicken burrito. It tasted great at first, but I’ll probably try a different spot for a burrito next time. The tortilla seemed slightly undercooked — it was fine when it was fresh, but after I refrigerated the leftovers and came back to it a few hours later, it had a very doughy texture. I know they make their tortillas in-house, which I appreciate, but it may have just needed a little more time on the grill. That being said, the dark red sauce it came with was phenomenal. Truly so, so good.

Good food but horrible customer service. You need a lot of patience to come here.
Don't understand great reviews... overpriced and below average quality. So many better choices on Milpas.
Had the fish soup and it's NOT good at all. It had no flavor and the fish was a mess( but full of bones). I was expecting more since the lady said it was one of the best sellers. Deeply disappointed. My husband on the other hand had the sopes and a quesadilla and said they were good ( the reason for the 2 stars).

It took more than an hour with the food and it was already cold😠
This place used to be very good. Today purchased a carne Asada burritoAnd it was anything but good. You can’t serve your customers reheated leftover Carne Asada. Gross.
Worst service that I and mi mom have here mi mom ask for a caldo de rez but it look that they pryeorce the people that they eat inside then that they take out I probably will never go here aging and I don't recommend going here if they pryeorce people that eat inside or costumers that are regular
Food is good but space way to small to have a dine in
I order two Menudo’s today and my boyfriend came from work. I heat up the food and we found hair little ones. I called in and they told me to take in the food in and they said it was no hair but it is
I was in there this morning to get tamales. She told me they only had three left. Cheese tamales but when I get home, they don’t even look like tamales they’re open I im not sure what that is in side but it looks i got someone else’s food i have never seen a tamale made like this , total waste of money, I will never eat there again.

Fingers in her mouth! This was only my second time visiting this place. I just went to buy a couple of bolillos just like my first visit, but I heard the tamales were good so i asked for one. The woman at the register went to the back to retrieve my tamal. I saw her stand facing me in front of this small window between the counter space and the kitchen. She proceeded to shove food into her mouth. Not just dropping food into her mouth but putting her fingers into her mouth, then I saw her walk further back and microwave the tamal. Absolutely disgusting. I was so grossed out that I will never visit again.
I went there to get some mexican breads spent 25.00 and they were so bad I couldn't even cut them with a knife very disappointed....😡
Food: i order amenudo ,quesadilla and sope the menudo was to greasy, the meat from de quesadilla and the sope was really bad i had to throw all food away. Service: it was my first time going to la tapatia restaurant and the cashier was very rude and pushing when i was ordering she didn't let me look a the menu i didn't like the service. They make me wait an hour to get my order i want to leave but they alredy charge me. Definitely not recommended they lost 3 costumers
I bought a menudo, once I arrived home and tried it I realized not only was it spicy to the point I could not continue eating it (I love spicy food by the way) but it was also very greasy. I called to ask for a refund I hadn’t ate that much. I don’t usually do that but at 17$ I couldn’t just throw away the food and take it as a loss. Over the phone the lady was very rude and hung up on me: I went to the store to show her the menudo and speak to a manager. The lady at the counter said she couldn’t refund me because I had already ate too much(I only had a few bites) then counted the tortillas and said I had ate one so that she would also charge for that… I have never experienced such horrible service. She continued to argue with me that that’s how they make their menudo and oh well. It’s unfortunate as Latinos that we treat each other with such disrespect when we are trying to support our community and business. If you want good menudo head over to BUEN GUSTO. My mistake for trying this horrible establishment.
Ordered a veggie burrito that they have the ingredients for despite it not being on their menu. (beans, rice, lettuce, pico, guacamole, cheese and sour cream. Must've been offensive to them to have to prepare a meat-free burrito because they wrapped it in a way that made it fall apart when I took the foil off. Sadly, I tipped them before even receiving my order though I just walked in...wasn't dining in or being served in any special manner. So in other words they didn't deserve a tip. I'll stick to Freebirds for my burritos whenever I come to town from now on.
