Great place for a weekend indian brunch. Paranthas were amazing with a great cup of tea
We came in later in the night. Everyone was super welcoming and warm. Our order was taking a little longer and they were very communicative and turned on the outside lights for us to wait.
We were driving along Camino Real when their colorful patio caught our eye, so we decided to stop in. What a great surprise—it turned into a super tasty breakfast! We tried the Avocado Egg Sandwich and the Masala Egg & Paratha, along with a Mango Lassi and Masala Chai. First time having these dishes and we loved them! That day there weren’t any servers, so the cook and the owner themselves came out to bring the food—both really kind and friendly people. The only thing I’d point out is that, because of the short staff, the place could use a bit more attention to cleanliness in some areas. Overall, we’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu—or just for my new favorite, the Masala Egg & Paratha!
I ordered masala chai, samosa chat and aaloo paratha at Kettle'e cafe. Samosa chat was so delicious with flavourful chutney. I just loved it. Masala chai was okayish. Aaloo paratha was so yummy, I felt like I am at my home eating aloo paratha. It was so soft and tasty with butter and raita. I was also offered Roohafza drink there and that also tasted very good. If you are looking for something delicious in Indian cuisine, kettle'e cafe is must recommended.
If you're seeking an unforgettable culinary journey, look no further than kettle’e in San Jose. I recently had the pleasure of indulging in their Iftaar buffet, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. As I made my way to the buffet spread, I was impressed by the variety and quality of dishes presented. For a mere $20, I was treated to a remarkable selection of 12-13 dishes, each surpassing my expectations. The paya, in particular, stood out as a true masterpiece, unrivaled by any other I've tasted. The chicken and goat curries were bursting with flavor, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs. But the delights didn't end there. From tantalizing appetizers like pakoras and dahi bhalle to refreshing juices and smoothies, every aspect of the buffet was meticulously curated to delight the palate. Even the vegetarian options, including chole, noodles, and dal, were a testament to the restaurant's dedication to catering to all tastes. What truly sets kettle’e apart is their unwavering commitment to excellence. Despite being a buffet, there was no compromise on quality. Each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, ensuring a dining experience that exceeded all expectations. It's baffling to me how this place isn't already a household name for its Iftaar buffet. After experiencing it firsthand, I can confidently say that it deserves every bit of recognition and more. In fact, I was so impressed that I found myself returning multiple times, unable to resist the allure of their delectable offerings. In conclusion, if you're in search of an extraordinary dining experience that celebrates the essence of Iftaar, look no further than kettle’e Trust me, you won't be disappointed. P.S- halal food.
Tried the delicious Irani chai here! This place takes me back to the authentic irani bakeries that have the best cookie recipes. The food is amazing! The chole plates and chat is perfect! Dont let the humble vibe let you think otherwise! The chef's recipes come from his learnings and experiences from the most renowned places in India!
Cute little place famous for North Indian/Delhi snacks. Fully halal. Great service. Very popular among the desi community in the Bay Area - especially for those seeking a nostalgia trip. Got the Delhi Espresso - a delicious warm foamy coffee sprinkled with chocolate. Perfect for a cold winter afternoon. I noticed they have a lot of interesting items on their menu including weekend specials of Kheema Parantha etc which looked interesting. Also a lot of family diners. Definitely looking forward to coming back and checking these out. Update - the cucumber mint cooler and chicken tikka roll are both delicious!
We tried Bun Kebab, Halwa Puri and Shami Kabab Patatha, everything was really delicious. As I took the first bite of bun kebab the patty wrapped with egg melted in my mouth, never ate something like this for a long time. Usually I don't like lamb but his place is exceptional. Looks like a newly opened place, and it's more like a cafe then a restaurant. So if you are going with a big group, you may not find enough table to sit together.
Kettle’e is a great spot for casual dining with flavorful dishes and a welcoming atmosphere. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Some items could use more consistency, and wait times can be a bit long during peak hours, but overall it’s a dependable choice for a tasty meal.
This is true paradise for tea lovers! They have an amazing variety of unique and delicious tea flavors — there’s always something new to try. My absolute favorite is their Irani tea — rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced in sweetness and flavor. It’s the kind of tea that instantly lifts your mood!
Service is slooooow! So if time is an issue, skip this place, but if you have time.... Food was quite tasty (lamb paratha had a great blend of spices!). The chicken in the Murgh Mala was so tasty and tender!. Why 3 stars? - slow service and prep - food was very good, but not commensurate with the high price. - did I mention slow service? 🤔
Their Delhi espresso is very close to India’s filter coffee. So whenever I crave for some filter coffee I head to this place. Their parathas are decent. Did not like their omelette. My fellow vegetarians, I could smell meat in my veggie omelette. Not sure what it was, they probably made omelette on same surface they fried meat on. But I couldn’t miss it and that was the last time I ate anything here. But I still come here for their Delhi espresso which is 👌 and they have outdoor sitting so we take our dog sometimes for coffee.
2 star - not clean, looks dusty and unhygienic. Not sure if outside is not so clean, how their kitchen looks. Old place, old Restroom, not maintained they way they charge for food. 3 star for food - too much oil, very spicy. Test is ok. 1 star for super expensive even though the food and portion is not so great.
Unreliable afternoon timing. "Closed" on Wednesday 4:30 pm, during operating hours and while the "Open" led sign is also on.
This place is barely alive and functional. Definitely something for authorities to look into for any shady business because it doesn’t look like they are open to serve food. For a $5 paratha you get one thin small unstuffed food, no achar, and boxed raita. Shami kabab roll my husband ordered was uncooked while the outer layer of the meat was semi cooked, could be because of the heat from parata and egg. When returned and complained about it the only person present and in charge did not know how to handle the situation. He asked us to call the owner from our personal number when he was talking to the owner right there from restaurant’s phone. Why can’t we talk thru the same phone? Why should we use our personal number? Adding to the shadiness. What happened was a basic scenario. There’s no need for us to talk to the owner when there is someone in charge right there “managing” the restaurant. We asked a simple question, is their policy to refund or to not refund in this case. Even for which he asked us to wait indefinitely for the owner to get to the restaurant or talk to him over the phone. Though all the items we ordered were bad, we only sent back the shami kabab roll and refused to try a new one because they said the meat was cooked and that’s how it is made. The person in charge was disrespectful, talked over me the whole despite of asking him to let me speak, mocked me saying I did not like a single item.
This place can’t even be called a restaurant. Basic things are missing. No napkins anywhere in restaurant. Ordered paratha and shami kabab rolls. Anywhere I ate paratha and rolls they come with basic red and green chutney. They have none. Meat in roll was undercooked. Returned the plate just after a bite. Now the guy who is at the counter is arguing that meat is cooked and not showing me the plate which I retuend. When ground meat is cooked it becomes hard. This meat is still dripping in meat juices. They are asking me to talk owner on phone. I would talk to owner is person. But they are insisting to talk to owner of phone and when I declined to talk over phone, they started saying my concerns weren’t valid. This is not even a restaurant.
