Opinions de The Roasted Crab Santa Clara
I had such a great experience at The Roasted Crab in Santa Clara! 🦀 I ordered the Seafood Boil Combo #3, and it was packed with crab, shrimp, crawfish, potatoes, corn, and so much flavor—it really felt like a seafood feast in a bag. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. I also tried the Shark Tank Cocktail (refreshing and fun), the Cajun Fries (crispy and my favorite snack), Shrimp Garlic Noodles (so flavorful and garlicky), and a fresh salad with a generous portion. Everything paired so well together, and the portion sizes were really satisfying.
We had a group of five come here before going to the movies. It was such a great experience and I can’t wait to come back. The restaurant was busy but the staff was attentive to get us seated. Nice atmosphere, clean and spacious. All of our entrées were delicious, including our appetizers. Are party enjoyed the following items, which we all recommend and would get again: Catfish appetizer, Crab cake appetizer, fried rice, Shaking Beef with red rice, garlic noodles with shrimp, and the roasted crab. Oh and can’t forget the Shark Tank! The roasted crab was absolutely amazing and the brown butter with seasoning kept me wanting more. If it was accepted I think we all would have drunken the butter. 😂 Our server was very friendly, attentive, and super helpful. He was able to give us recommendations and also helped to answer some dietary restriction questions. He even made it a point to go ask the chef to confirm his answers to us. Would definitely recommend coming here and can’t wait to come back again.
This place is AMAZING. We had King's combo with their signature sauce, no spicy. Every ingredient tastes so fresh and delicious. The King Crab legs are big and rich in meat, the mussels are huge and soft, the prawns' texture tastes very fresh. Even the fries are very well made. The price might look a bit high, but it's 100% worth it. Hope they can keep it up! Highly recommended!
In the last few years, there are many restaurants specializing in seafood in the SJ area. The crawfish and crabs seem to be the favorites because these restaurants have their specialty sauce dialed in perfectly for the taste of customers. We happened to be in a new restaurant in Mercado shopping center. It’s close to HomeGoods and Movie theaters, one stop shopping and dinning. The parking lot is huge easy to find a parking spot on a busy Friday night. The place is new and clean, full bar but not too many tables, therefore reservations is recommended. The prices are on the mid level $$ but the food is excellent. The sweet potato fries were amazingly crispy and mouth watering for appetizer. The shrimps on skewers were so tender and well marinated. Deep fried calamari was crispy and can’t stop eating. Cajun squid was just right amount of spice and tender. The crab we had was big and full of meat, the sauce was extremely tasty, I’m a good cook but I can’t imagine how they roasted this crab with full flavored like that. Some crabs have less meat inside the shells, but the one I had was full to the shells, they do know how to select their crabs. It’s all in the sauce, flavorful and the salt was just right. We had crawfish also, they came in a bag with the special sauce again, quite excellent, we asked to take the sauce home to eat with baguette or steamed rice. I normally don’t like to eat crawfish because there’s not much meat and lot of work to eat them, but they’re actually satisfying when tasting them with the sauce of course. The fried rice was specifically fried, a little burnt to have some crispy, crunch taste, quite unique and good IMO. The salt was just right also. The oysters were so fresh and sweet, they’re supposed to be a special hand picked from some famous source, I couldn’t have enough of them although they’re not inexpensive LOL. The clams were amazing, haven’t seen any of the full bodied clams before, so juicy and tender and their sauce was delicious. We were insisted on trying their signature drink, shark, it’s a huge glass with some blue mix with shark gummy beat type in it that you can actually eat. It’s big enough for both of me and my wife and quite unique. We will take our children back here for dinner, they will love this place although they’re not crazy about seafood, but my daughter likes crawfish and my son love fried rice.
Premium crab, garlic noodles, clams, corn, and sweet potatoes. Everything is so great. Expect I don’t like the drinks, tasting weird. If they can improve the water quality, it would be perfect.
Very good seafood. We ordered a bucket, crab and sea snails. Great flavor. It is very messy but they give you gloves. Do wish they had bibs for you to wear. They are following good COVID protocols. Coca-Cola was good.
Great tasting Cajun seafood. Staff was helpful, nothing special for the atmosphere, but I was too busy eating to care.
We got the King’s combo and Garlic Noodles. It was amazing. We were stuffed and the seasonings/flavor 💯. The total was almost $150, a tad expensive but worth it once in a while.

I honestly don’t understand why this place only has a 3.7 rating on Google, because I always have a great experience here. The seafood is very fresh, and you can really taste the quality. My absolute favorite is the Manila clams in their yummy yummy sauce — so flavorful and satisfying. The grilled oysters are also amazing, especially with the fried onions on top. Even their egg fried rice is worth ordering: simple, comforting, and surprisingly good. Every time I come here, I enjoy the food and leave happy. Definitely underrated in my opinion.
The crispy shrimp sandwich is amazing—highly recommend trying it! They also offer $3 off during lunchtime, which is a great deal. I’d definitely love to come back again.
I didn’t know I needed a crab-based spiritual awakening today, but The Toasted Crab really said, “Sit down, bestie. Let us show you.” First of all, the crab was so fresh I’m pretty sure it had a LinkedIn profile earlier that morning. Absolute celebrity vibes 🦀✨ The seasoning? Perfect. Like the chef whispered secrets to the crab before cooking it. A nice, respectful farewell. The staff were delightful—10/10 would trust them to watch my emotional support water bottle. And the hush puppies? I would write poetry about them. I would mail someone a letter describing them with a wax seal. If you're considering going: GO. If you’re not considering going: Now you are. The Toasted Crab has replaced several people in my life. I have formed attachments.
I had the roasted crab here and it completely blew me away. The crab was perfectly cooked—juicy, flavorful, and packed with that rich garlic-butter aroma. Especially, the serve the dungeness crab fresh!! I saw them caught the live crab out of the tank

Loved all the staineless steele serving ware! It was just beautifully presented and we appreciated the trash bucket and plates. The dog friendly patio was so awesome and clean! They even gave our dog a bowl of water. So sweet! Service and staff was excellent. They were all friendly, professional, patient and attentive. All the food was fresh, perfectly prepared and cooked well. Big portions. The yummy yummy sauce is a combination of all their sauces. In my opinion, it was definitely different from the flavors found at other vietcajun seafood restaurants, but tasty nonetheless. I'd describe it as being on the more sweet side, probably sweetened by the delicious roasted garlic chunks, very tangy from citrus, and the spice tasted like fresh birds eye chilis, not dried cayenne pepper.
My friend and I are visiting from Canada and my nephew suggested the roasted crab for dinner. We had several dishes and all were wonderful. A big thank you goes to our server Ryan. Also thank you to Alison for allowing us to take care of the bill while my nephew tried to wrestle us for it. I would recommend this place to any seafood lover.

Shrimp was fresh, but could use more flavoring. Oysters were awesome.
Not bad at all! There were mixed reviews, especially about the service and waiting time. I experienced great/friendly service that was very helpful. My server discouraged me from ordering an app because of my meal size, saying, "you can always order more if you're still hungry." That made me feel NOT upsold, in a good way. Also, I timed how long it took from order to delivered to table and it was under 9 minutes, which seems very reasonable. Also, I received the check quickly, too. The food was kinda mediocre, but I'd go back to try other dishes.

Regrettably, the recent dining experience proved unsatisfactory, representing a significant financial misstep. The initial cocktail, a mojito, was improperly prepared, consisting of soda water, lime, and mint. Water service was delayed until the meal's midpoint. The iced tea presented an unpleasant flavor profile. The noodle bowl, ordered by my daughter, utilized spaghetti instead of the expected noodles. The crab boil, served in a diminutive portion, was insufficient for two diners. The crab itself was undersized, and the accompanying portion of potato was inadequate. Considering the $145.00 expenditure, a more generous portion size and improved service were anticipated. Furthermore, we were required to clear our table, and the check's delivery was delayed by over thirty minutes. The restaurant's occupancy was minimal, with only one other patron present.
Bad food, bad service and very expensive. What a mistake we made coming here. I should just left when I felt bad about what I got myself into. From the start the lady started telling us about special which end no special when ordered. It was our 1st time there and we told the guy waiter to suggest something good, well these guys wanted to sell you expensive items on their menu and by the lb. He suggested shrimp something with noodle and it was suppose to be on special. It came in a plastic bag, and from that moment I knew it’s a place to forget and place in blacklist. They gave us foam plates to put the very hot shrimp. The shrimp meal was messy and a lot of work. The appetizers miz was nasty. The fish was old and tasted really bad not to mention for $15 was too small. Overall it was bad bad experience and will not go there. I told my buddy who selected this place to pay attention to reviews on google and trip advisor and not to make such a mistake.

I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and clam chowder. Spaghetti didn't taste like one, not even close. Had 2 bites and that was it. Chowder was ok though. The wife had the manila clams and it was not good either. Won't come back or recommend to anyone.
I went for dinner and to start the person that greeted me looked like they were in a bad mood. I ordered a vodka soda with lime and got a vodka tonic. I sent it back and the lime I got with my drink was rotten. I asked the server which of the sauces was the best one on the Cajun side. He suggested one and I ordered. They also don’t allow half legs and half shrimp. The sauce was a white sauce that looked like a gross gravy. They wouldn’t send it back. The sauce was disgustingly gross. I ordered king crab legs so it was not cheap. The limes were also rotten and they didn’t have lemons. Do not eat here!!!!
One of the worst seafood boils I’ve ever been to. The mussels were lukewarm. The rest was moderately warm. For a boil. How. The sauce was also disappointing and no spice for medium. Like not even black pepper level of spice.
