I love having breakfast here. They have a delicious New York strip and eggs. I also LOVE their pancakes and other sweet treats. Laura did an outstanding job with service. The restaurant is very clean. I sat and read the menu learning about the restaurant and its history. I definitely recommend Black Bear Diner. They always make you feel like family.

Always a good meal here. The chicken fried steak is one of my favorites and still is. The bear claw pastry was served warm and was very tasty. I've tried some of the other dishes, omelets, scrambowls, and the burgers. Haven't been disappointed yet. Great family restaurant.

Great dinner, perfect as expected. Our waitress Gail was lovely and helped us choose a dish and was quick with order. She was the only person who was managing a big group in private section and couple of tables on main section. Food was great. Place is nicely done with bear theme, see pictures and videos posted.

Went for the first time last week after passing by many times. So good! Eggs were cooked perfectly as I ordered, their homemade sausage is so good! The French toast was really good as well. Great service on a weekday morning. Can’t wait to go back.

My husband and I having been coming to this Black Bear Diner for years. The food and service has always been excellent. Our waitress Is often Daisy who does a fantastic job, always pleasant and courteous. All the servers and staff do a great job here.

the food was amazing !! me and my family come here every so often and 2 out of those few times we’ve had this server, daisy and she was sososo nice !! she was really funny and she took some time out of her shift to make a little chit chat with us :) food was amazing, wait was decent, (so worth it though.) and overall experience was great :)

My friend and I met here for the first meeting in about 6 years. We had a meal and then drank coffee for probably 3 additional hours. The restaurant treated us well and made no effort to rush us out the door. We like the ambiance of this restaurant but more importantly, we like the food, the coffee and the friendly waste staff. The pricing is right and we highly recommend this restaurant.

We had a good experience at Black Bear Diner in Santa Clarita. It's a chain breakfast place where you can get lots of basic breakfast items in a bear-themed environment (without all the growling and mothers protecting their young which you get when real bears are around.) The portions were huge so you definitely won't go hungry here and there are a million things to choose from, as well as plenty to eat for vegetarians, and gluten-free folks will do okay too. (Though the only gluten-free bread option is a hamburger bun.) I had the "No Meat, Just the Eggs Please" which was a good amount of egg whites and an insane amount of crispy hashbrowns. They were cooked perfectly but lacked seasoning so were a bit bland. They were nice enough to sub a single "Sweet Cream Pancake" as my bread option. This was a generous-sized thing on its own and tasted as good as a pancake should. The coffee was really good. Too often conventional breakfast places serve up weak coffee which just doesn't do the job. The mug they served me was filled with a bold, strong coffee that I would drink over and over. Well done! Our kid enjoyed his breakfast burrito without meat...another giant portion which even he, with all his teenage eating prowess, could not finish. And my wife was fine with her benedict meal served without bread (no gluten-free breakfast bread option.) They did forget to bring our english muffin side until the end of the meal. We ended up packing it up and taking it with us with the rest of the leftovers. It was a great surprise to have decent food, large portions, and really good coffee at a chain conventional breakfast spot. I'm a fan and will be back.

Um. It’s hard to rate this because our family TRULY enjoys black bear diner restaurants! Food is great and service is USUALLY great! This location however is the exception. Once we got here after leaving Magic Mountain we waited 10 minutes before someone could show up to the stand. We had to ask if we were supposed to “seat ourselves” to which we were told: “No but yes, please take a seat right here in front of us” mind you there was 3 workers and about 4 families eating (meaning the restaurant was DEAD). We then asked for crayons (customary for them to give you crayons for the kiddos to color and keep them busy). We were given 2 crayons from the package and were told “crayons are provided upon request and even then we only give them 1 so consider yourselves lucky because they end up breaking them and throwing them.” Surprising they were very quick to judge and automatically put our son in a category with other children who probably misbehave. We stayed because we had absolutely no choice but to eat (we were seated and our son made himself comfortable). If you can avoid coming here, I’d recommend that. The food is great! The service at THIS particular location was BEYOND horrible. I think someone at McDonald’s would embarrass their staff by the manners they have. Before leaving it seemed Laura the server was very passive aggressive. While she was not directly rude to us, she kept arguing with a fellow server about tips not being distributed properly and arguing about how any more customers that came in would go upstairs instead of the bottom unless they were “nasty”. This was very obvious

Beautiful rustic atmosphere but service, food is low quality. Server is over worked lacks the help to serve customers. Received only partial of the food we ordered, never returned to fill up for at least a second pour of coffee, food was received warm if at best, sausage links did not even have a burn mark on them. Can't blame the waiter since she was way too busy keeping up with the rest of the customers.
