Palmer's is a popular spot known for its juicy, crispy fried chicken and friendly staff. The MotherClucker sandwich and Nashville hot chicken tenders are highly praised. Some find the sides inconsistent, but the overall atmosphere is lively and welcoming.

Tip: If you like spicy food and want something truly hot, try the Napalm spice level, but be warned it's very spicy. Otherwise, the Nashville spice is a good option with a kick.

Palmer's is an excellent place for fried chicken. Their portions are great! Our chicken was steamy and fried to perfection. The mac and cheese is amazing as well. I wish they had a location in Fort Worth because this place is much better than Gus's on Magnolia.
Awesome fried chicken! Great service, too. The fried chicken was juicy, crispy, smoky, and slightly spicy. You can make it spicier, but we're kinda tame. The collards and cheesy grits were terrific - not mushy or watery. Definitely will be back.
The Nashville hot chicken tenders I ordered were phenomenal. They had a beautiful crispy outside. The freeze also cooked perfectly. The baked beans were a little sweeter than I would have imagined. My partner got the mother clucker sandwich. They said the first bite was a little tough, but it definitely got better with each chew. Mac & cheese is creamy & HOT. PASTA 10/10. Also quite a few dirty tables when I walked in but they got to it immediately. Good vibes ps: LOVE THE PICKLES.
This is one of my favorite spots to eat!!! The food is outstanding as well as the staff. If you have not tried the MotherClucker Sandmich or their Roasted Chicken you are missing out!!! The Nashville spice is the perfect spice to me with just the right kick. Will forever come here!
During my trip to Dallas me and multiple coaches (Shout out Gonzaga Lacrosse Team) went to Palmers for a late lunch. The staff members there were friendly. Their chicken sandwiches looked good and we all got the Motherclucker including different sides. I was extremely pleased with the quality of our meal. During the end of our meal Palmer actually came out and greeted us with a warm welcome. The meal was phenomenal and the community was better. Highly recommend going back.
I was craving chicken and we heard about Palmer's, so we decided to give it a try. Their Fried dark meat Novice chicken, which is not too spicy was so good. Their shrimp, mac and cheese, french fries and maple baked beans were also very good. Everyone was nice and friendly. It was a cool relaxing atmosphere. I will go back.
The family and I were starving after finishing up a long day of activities and we're glad we found ourselves at Palmer's. The food was delicious, the hospitality was great and the atmosphere was fun. Our party ordered the catfish plate, catfish and shrimp tacos, big dark (chicken), big white, little white, corn and Mac and cheese. I ordered the catfish plate at Palmers is 12oz of catfish served with two sides with half Nashville and napalm for the heat. The napalm nearly took me out, but the Nashville was perfect for me. I also had grilled and fried shrimp and catfish tacos. They were so delicious with the Nashville heat level. My family loved everything from the chicken plates, they had little white(one breast and one wing) and big white(two breasts and two wings). The tacos they ordered were great also. They said the chicken was cooked perfectly and there spice level varied. Overall I will definitely go back to Palmers when we have a chance. Great food and service here so you can't go wrong. Some of the juiciest Hot Chicken I’ve ever had! Right when I walked in I loved the vibe of this place! They have a cool indoor/outdoor section that has a bunch of porches and TVs you can watch your games on ! Inside their is a full bar with a TV and spacious seating area! I was greeted right when I walked in, and I got down to business by asking what the best item on the menu ! The waiter let me know that the top 2 sellers were the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich(MotherClucker ) and the Nashville chicken Caesar salad wrap. I also saw they had on their menu was nashville hot chicken that was roasted so I decided to get one of those also. The food was amazing, the wrap i was supper surprised because I tasted so much chicken and usually on wraps you don’t taste the protein as much, so I loved it ! The MotherClucker sandwich was probably the best Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich I ever tasted. They use cheese instead of coleslaw on their sandwich 👀. The roasted chicken was so delicious I ate it right down to the bone, love trying new things and this was definitely one of them ! The restaurant was clean which is always a plus ! Overall a great place to bring your friends and family. I can’t wait to return to this spot !

I'd say the best thing going for it is the chicken itself. Sides & are average nothing crazy. Chicken is actually cooked in the spice rather than having sauce drizzled over it like other places. Chicken came out fresh & crunchy. Spice is the build up type not the immediate mouth burn sensation. Restrooms were clean. Plenty walking space. Decent parking spots.
Fried Chicken aficionado , biased towards the work and collaborations that James Prince has contributed to- If you have known the area long enough and you know what great fried chicken is, you might recall Brothers Fried Chicken before it became something else. I can vouch for the Novice Tenders being as good as that was. The waffles and corn on the cob are excellent. Service is excellent. It’s too loud when busy for a conversation so know that before you go in if it matters. The “Novice” spice isn’t remotely spicy. I’ve taken three generations of people here and they each enjoyed the food. Given the nature of the restaurant business and vendors combined with this specific location, this review is subject to change based on the aforementioned factors.
Omg!!! This food was AMAZING!!! We were visiting Dallas so we door dashed from Palmer’s and it was probably the best food we have ordered in a while. We had the Nashville Catfish, the Novice Chick breast, waffle, collard greens, Mac n cheese, grits and Brussels. We order the Banana pudding but it was not included in our order. But everything we did get was sooooo good, I’m sure the banana pudding would have been amazing as well. Loved it so much that I had to google to see if there is one in or near Austin where we live but unfortunately there is not. But at least when we visit Dallas again we know where to go.
Edit: leaving the 5 because they were so good but they are a ghost kitchen now???? Too bad. This place is always great. The frose is so good and made with real strawberries. The chicken is some of the best in the area. Kid friendly. If you actually want something hot, their napalm is proper heat. Like don't order it unless you want your whole face to burn even if you like spicy food, but it is also super tasty.

I always come in and order the spinach salad with shrimp and love it!! For the longest time, I had to take the tails off for myself which wasn’t the biggest deal but a bit of a pain when eating with a fork. Today I went in and the kitchen took off the tails for me!! Palmer’s pays attention to the small details and continues to make my experience better.

Clean order at the counter restaurant in a real nice strip mall. Front part of the restaurant is an outdoor patio with picnic tables. Inside is a bar area and booth and table seating. The staff and the counter was super friendly and helpful. Prices were fair. I had the Motherclucker Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and tater tots. The size of the servings was plentiful. The tots were perfect. The Nashville Hot fried chicken was excellent but unfortunately the bun was hard and dry which distracted from the sandwich. Maybe a little sauce would have helped? Overall I recommend this as a good Nashville chicken restaurant.
Went for lunch on my birthday because I received s free dessert coupon and thought the menu looked good. The tenders and waffle were good, but the sides - beans, mac 'n cheese, collards - were just ok. The ice cream sandwich was also pretty good and my daughter liked the chicken cesar wrap as well. I do plan to go back on the strength of the chicken and the service.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant with my family, and it was a great experience. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it an enjoyable spot for both adults and kids. One of the highlights was the outdoor games, which kept the little ones entertained while we relaxed and enjoyed our meal. (Of course, I had to show off my skills and beat everyone!) The food itself was very satisfying. The tenders were cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. While I wouldn’t quite rate the overall experience five stars, it was definitely a solid choice for a casual and enjoyable meal. Now, let’s talk about the real star of the show—the banana pudding! Hands down, the best thing on the menu. If you visit, don’t leave without trying it! Overall, I’d absolutely recommend this place. Good food, great atmosphere, and a fun spot for families. I’ll definitely be back!
Ummm. Hello. This place is really good and no one told me about it. The customer service was A-1 and the food was really good. They don’t make collards the way I cook them but they were still good. The food came out fresh and hot. We got the shrimp meal and 3 tender meal. Baked beans, fries, collards, and Mac and cheese. All of it was good! We will definitely be back. My only issue was the condiments needed a good wipe down. It’s like they haven’t been wiped down in a while. I went to multiple tables trying to get some clean ones. Other than that, this place is amazing!
I ordered to go and they had my food out within 5 minutes so I appreciate that. The food was good but nothing crazy to rave about. I got the chicken Cesar wrap with fries and a side of queso. I think next time I’ll ask for the fries more crispy but they had good flavor. The queso was good. I got the Nashville hot and it honestly wasn’t that hot. More like a medium buffalo level I would say. The chicken could be more crispy in my opinion but everything had a good flavor. It could have been because I took it to go. I live nearby so I’ll probably go again. The amount of food you get for the price is pretty good.

Our review after trying the new take-out only ghost kitchen/food truck location: 3 stars. This was our favorite hot chicken in Dallas before closing their restaurant. We just tried the ghost kitchen/food truck location in Garland & we’ll be finding a new favorite spot (sadly). The food was still good but not amazing like it was before the move. The ordering experience was so inconvenient and we waited an hour on our food (for 2 meals). We would’ve given 5 stars all day long for the Dallas location but unfortunately can’t give better than 3 stars now. The only way I’d possibly recommend is if getting delivered on DoorDash (but fried chicken to-go/takeout just doesn’t hit the same). Our review before trying the new ghost kitchen/food truck: 5 stars. We’re so sad to hear that Palmer’s no longer has a sit-down restaurant because this was one of the main restaurants we go to Dallas to eat at. From what we’ve read online, they now have a ghost kitchen inside Revolving Kitchen in Garland & a food truck both for take out only. We’re unable to contact Palmer’s to verify hours b/c the number listed is for Revolving Kitchen & their voicemail says to call each specific ghost kitchen at their own number but doesn’t give a # to use for Palmer’s. With that said, we’re gonna give the new take out place a try & am hoping it’s just as delicious as it was at their restaurant. It was the best hot chicken in Dallas so fingers crossed it still is. Will update.
This place was pretty good. We ordered the fish nuggets, and the chicken plate (can’t remember the name). The fish was pretty bland but it was fresh so I’ll give it a 7/10. The sauce made it better. I got greens for the side, which were kind of sweet for my liking (6/10). The chicken plate was pretty good, seasoned a little better than the fish (8/10). Macaroni and cheese, bland (4/10). Service was great. The waiter was very knowledgeable and kind!
Honestly, the chicken was ok. We both ordered the Nashville hot expecting for it to be pretty spicy because the cashier talked us down from "napalm" spicy and we were both completely disappointed. Nashville hot wasn't spicy at all, and based on that I don't think napalm would be very spicy either. I ordered the roasted dark meat chicken with corn on the cob and the brussel sprouts. The chicken looked really good but tasted a little burnt... the corn and brussel sprouts were pretty basic. All in all, I've definitely had better and wouldn't make the trek across town again to come here but it was ok.

Went here for the 2nd time and had a night and day experience. First time was great but ordered to go and the chicken was burnt and so bitter it was almost impossible to eat. We ordered a salad because of the Wednesday deal and we didn’t get the dressing we ordered and the chicken was flavorless and dry. The fries were soggy which to be fair could have been because we didn’t eat them until we got home but the Brussels sprouts were super oily. The bread we got with the chicken was covered it whatever burnt, bitter sauce was on the chicken which made it in- edible. For reference we got the Nashville sauce which having got it before was not on the chicken. The one positive thing was the chicken thighs were juicy. I don’t know what was served to us or if the chef didn’t check the order but very disappointing.
