Hit. The. Spot. I don't want to over hype it or anything, but this might be the best bagel I've ever had. I got the Tango & Cash + tomato on a Spicy Garlic burrito and it was SO GOOD. All the toppings were fresh and perfectly ripe and tasty. My girlfriend got The Works burrito and I tried to ask her how it is, but she doesn't want to stop eating it to answer. There's your answer. This is a must eat stop. Oh, and the drinks were fresh as hell too. Perf perf perf.
If I lived in Santa Cruz, I'd be in trouble! I ordered the Tango and Cash breakfast sandwich with egg added and smooshed between a delightful homemade everything bagel. This was a dreamy breaky sammy! My yumminess was washed down with a creme brulee latte and an extra shot of espresso for good measure. The staff was so sweet!
- kitchen sink on tomato cheddar bagel [avocado, green onions, bacon, jalapeños, cream cheese] ($10) - 24 oz. hot cream brûlée latte [white chocolate and caramel syrup] ($6-7 ish - im unsure but will update post once im able to figure it out) my friends and i took a quick day trip to santa cruz and we were all super hungry so we decided to stop here for breakfast and coffee and im so so glad we did! bc this was so delicious! the kitchen sink had everything i loved eating and more - paired with the tomato cheddar it added/enhance an extra layer of flavor and made the sandwich more refreshing as there were tomatoes on the bagel itself. something i appreciate a lot about the bagel was how soft and fluffy it was and the ingredients were generously stacked the coffee was perfectly sweetened and i really liked the blend of the coffee with the white chocolate and caramel syrup and helped me wake up definitely a great yummy start to our beach trip if you're in the area then this spot is the way to go!!
Met the owner today - Great energy! I Stopped in again today after my yummie experience yesterday. I tried their home made blueberry-blackberry scones. DELISH! I highly recommend supporting this local business. Home made bagels, pastries, and others. Locally roasted coffee and chai! Locally sourced food as well.
Maybe the best bagel I ever had. I chose the cheddar and onion with cream cheese and was a bomb. They have plenty of bagel options and they are baked in house. The dark roast coffee paired perfect with the bagel. Super cute spot and friendly stuff. They open at 7am. Perfect for early raisers.
5 out of 5 in every way! Food was "yummy-sound" inducing! Service was quick & dare I say, prices were surprisingly affordable compared to the current & local economic climate. We sat outside, in front of the establishment at a table in a "garden-ish" section next to the parking lot. Parking was available directly in front. Overall a great experience, will go back again!
Nice, homey sort of place with a great savoury breakfast/brunch menu and superb coffee selection. Lovely staff and the poppy seed muffin was excellent alternative to standard hotel breakfast. Seems to attract locals and tourists in equal measure; the vibe is welcoming and warm.
I discovered Firefly Bagels while living in Santa Cruz as a traveling health care worker during the pandemic. I have since moved away and still dream about them. I haven't found any bagels as yummy as these!
Cute little coffee shop with amazing bagels! Vegan burrito is good also but just a bit spicy. Definitely worth the stop for a quick coffee and a bite.
Exceptional coffee, including the regular cheap drip type; wonderful simple egg sandwich on delicious fresh toasted bagel, fast service even with a line out front. This place rocks! I’ll be back whenever I’m anywhere near SC, it’s worth the drive!
Think of it as a walk up window to order. Small indoor space just to order really, and some picnic benches outside perfectly nice to sit and eat. There was a wait on a Saturday morning. I ordered online and by the time we walked there food was ready! 20-25 min. Waiting in line to order plus wait for food to be ready would have been a while otherwise. Really tasty bagel sanwhiches and the coffee was excellent as well.
Perfect little adorable Cafe with great coffee and great food. The breakfast burrito was incredible and the breakfast sandwiches are delicious. The bagels they use are amazing too. Staff is super nice, a little bit of indoor seating and a lot of outdoor picnic tables. Can't wait to come back.
Found this coffee house when heading out of town from a weekend trip to Santa Cruz. When we arrived there was a line snaking around the building so we knew this place was about to be good! Waited in line for 10 minutes and another 15 minutes to get our food and drinks, but it was worth the wait! I ordered the bagel breakfast sandwich and it was LOADED with so much egg, definitely gave me my moneys worth. The peach tea was also yummy and my spouse said the breakfast burrito he ordered was yummy. Cute shop, great food, friendly service, would be back if ever in town! My only advice would be to plan for a wait and if you’re in a rush, probably not the spot for you. For reference we visited at 11AM on a Monday morning.
Amazing bagel! Came here for breakfast during my last day in Santa Cruz: service was fast and friendly, and the bagel was just too good. Nice fresh OJ. The English Tea didn’t past the British test 🇬🇧 but at least they had it!
I loved the food + drinks! I ordered the Works Burrito with a Nutty Professor Latte and it was bomb! It’s a little pricey but worth it. Loved the sitting area and area in general.
We came out here on a work trip for our skateshop in Hawaii @Elephit and One of the team managers over at Santa Cruz told us to hit this place up and we are so glad that we did! The line was pretty long when we got here, but it went by fast. The service is really great and the food is incredible!
These guys were awesome, I lost my water bottle nearby in the EBike docking stations, and they found it and held onto it for me until I came by. Amazing service, also they have very delicious bagels
Great breakfast spot. Solid coffee and chais and tasty bites!! The bagels are BOMB and the have many varieties that were all good!!! The breakfast burrito was packed with flavor too! Instagram Eat more WHOLE foods! 🥯🥔🍳🥓🌯🥑 📸 Situation 📸 The Works Breakfast Burrito 📸 Kitchen Sink @FireflyCoffee Homemade artisanal bagels, organic coffee and chai #FuelForAnAdventure 📍Santa Cruz, CA 🏄🏻♂️
Great coffee with cute illustration on it when I got my drink. Appreciate the extra touch. Excellent bagel. Made in house and the perfect consistency and strength of a bagel but softness and flavorfulness of a burger bun. I got the smoked lox and despite the recession price tag I’d still pay for that quality sandwich. Great little shaded and sunny outdoor space. Definitely will visit again.
We hadn’t been here for quite some time. The coffee is excellent and food is good. The kitchen sink bagel sando was wonderful and the chorizo borrito was huge and ok. The vibe is casual with picnic tables. We look forward to coming back. Thank you❤️
The first thing I thought was, wow these are overpriced bagels. but could thousands of people be wrong, No! Best thing I've eaten in a long time. The bagels are freshly made early in the morning, veggies freshly cut and avocado sliced to order. I think I had a whole avocado to myself. I could go on and on, just know that you're missing out and you get your money's worth We ordered the mcfly latte and the garden storm which were delicious and strong. A great way to start the day before heading up to Henry Cowell trails.
An adorable spot with delicious bagels and lots of drink choices. There’s plenty of seating outside! It’s a perfect place to relax on the weekend.
This place is the definition of a hidden gem. While the location is random, the food and coffee is off the charts delicious. The bagels are awesome, some of the best in SC, the breakfast burrito is huge (and delicious), and the coffee specials were wonderful. We ordered the The Works breakfast burrito which was gigantic! Stuffed full of eggs and chorizo. I definitely recommend the breakfast burrito. I got the The Situation on a jalapeño cheddar bagel and it was amazing. Spicy fresh jalapeños, bacon, cream cheese and so much more. We also tried the hazelnut latte and the crème brûlée latte was one of the best lattes ever! I can’t wait to go back and try more soon. All of the seating is outside so bring a jacket for a cold day or bring your food to the beach a few blocks away. Service was kind and quick.
Absolutely loved the vegan burrito and iced latte. The burrito was packed with flavor and left me satiated. Definitely try the house salsa if you can. The staff were very sweet, especially the young woman with braids. She went above and beyond in terms of hospitality. I think the location is great and the place is quite cute and relaxed. Would 100% go again!
Fun little spot to grab a bagel sandwich or breakfast burrito, great coffee espresso too. Friendly baristas and nice open atmosphere. I ordered a cortado (not on the menu but they know what’s up). Sit outside on a nice day to enjoy.

I got a vegan breakfast burrito that was so stacked and packed I ate it for 3 DAYS! It was really really good! So filling I got multiple meals from it. And my Garden Storm lavender Chai was incredibly delicious and satisfying. Cute little gem of a place!

This place has some incredibly friendly staff and well made, fresh bagels. I had the spicy garlic bagel with the Situation and a hot latte. The food was well made, hot and fresh. The only downside I would give to this place is that it's expensive! Between two people, we paid nearly $35 for a bagel & coffee each!
Best bagel, maybe ever! Service a bit spotty on accuracy of orders, but incredible loxbagel and can ask for like egg w shmear on any bagel and they'll do it!
So I have to say they were some very large breakfast sandwiches. They did not disappoint. So I’m going to be very critical of the bagel more so than most because I’m an east coast Jew . They were very good but they are not what I would consider a bagel . They were more a bagel shaped roll. They lacked that bagel chewiness and were more airy. The crust on the bagel was very nice though. I would eat here again . The lox was great . And my husband ordered the situation and there was a huge omelet on there .
Amazing bagels and burritos! The breakfast burritos are massive and delicious, and the bagels were so chewy and fluffy. Their coffee was also great, my iced oat milk latte was scrumptious. Also their chai was very good, super spicy. The inside is cute but there aren't too many indoor seats, but plenty of seats outside. They also have no bathroom. The service was good but it kind of took a while.
Got an everything bagel with cream cheese, and a 16 oz coffe. $10.55. Bagel was warm, yummy, pretty good. I’d preferred more cream cheese on my bagel, but overall a 4/5! My friend got a breakfast sandwich on a bagel, goood.
They have a long selection of bagels and spreads. We got the presto pesto and the everything bagel with jalapeno spread because they were out of cream cheese. Has Outdoor seating. Very limited seating indoors. No restroom. Ample parking.

update 6/28: they really started skimping on the cream cheese - ordered a breakfast bagel and a jalapeno cheddar with cream cheese. both sandwiches had about a tablespoon of cream cheese on them. they were also cut at a weird angle (like a thin sliver off the top). breakfast bagel also had a countable number of green onion slices. not sure what happened here. had bagels here tons before and they always put a healthy amount of cream cheese and didn't skimp on the toppings. best bagels - big, light, fluffy, decadent. great selection
Love this place, Been there many times. Cappuccino too hot, foam was simply not good and needs help and love. The place is busy the seating is amazing, the crowed is cool, the cap help. Advice, go to coffee school and know the milk temperature.
Only available coffee/tea/snack place open early. A little pricey for size of drinks we purchased. Seemed like a decent selection of drinks.
a small shop near the wharf area. i came in when it wasn’t too busy & ordered a works burrito & a creme brulee latte. the portions were generous- definitely one of the bigger burritos you’ll find in santa cruz & great fuel for a beach day. the creme brulee latte is one of their specials but in my opinion it was a little bland & disappointing. i do prefer my coffee less sweet so this might be more of a taste thing though. more outdoor seating than indoor

*My experience ordering from here through DoorDash: Hello Firefly team. I wanted to leave a review and share my honest experience ordering your cream cheese bagel with egg. I ordered it thinking it would be what was advertised in the photo and what I got had both good aspects and disappointing aspects to it. The bagel itself was good and flavorful, the egg amount was great, but when it came to the amount of cream cheese you put, it was a very thin layer. I did pay $3 extra for this and was disappointed that it was so thin and on only one side of the bagel. I looked at your DoorDash reviews and saw the same thing emphasized by two other folks. It would be great to maybe have an accurate photo of this so customers know what to expect or to convey in the description “thin layer of cream cheese on one side of bagel” with an option to pay for more to have it actually look like the photo from your DoorDash advertisement. I am someone who never leaves reviews unless I genuinely feel a bit disappointed at something I paid extra for that was not accurate and wanted to make the company aware, especially since 2 other folks emphasized this already. Once again, your bagel had great elements to it, but the extra charge of $3 for cream cheese with the photo advertised was misleading. I hope my feedback can lead to an improvement of at least providing an accurate photo and description of what to customers expect when they add cream cheese. I’ve personally have had cream cheese bagels that look exactly like your advertised doordash photo from Java Junction in River street, so I know it’s possible for bagels to be given more than a thin layer of cream cheese. I totally understand it’s only a $3 extra charge and at the end of the day, it’s not something that serious. I just don’t want others to be mislead and experience what I experienced when really looking forward to what you had advertised. For folks looking to order through DoorDash, and if your planning to get something close to what I ordered (cream cheese, egg) please be aware if you are looking to get what is shown in the app, it unfortunately is misleading and would highly recommend Java Junction bagels instead.

Good burrito, but very overpriced. I did not see it on the menu on Google maps, but inquired over the phone and did not know the price. A little over $16! And it was not all that big for that price. I think the works burrito would be better priced at $8. It feels like I bought two and only got one, and that is disappointing.
Baristas were amazing. Great customer service. But the coffee tastes worse than SB. I think it’s the beans, sadly won’t be going back.
I used to love coming to this place but now the quality of the bagels and the customer service is getting progressively worse. This is a childhood favorite cafe for me but all of a sudden the workers just don't listen to you. I always ask for crispy bacon because they barely cook it and that's a pretty simple ask. That was my only problem at first but now they don't listen and they still barely cook the bacon, and on top of that they give you a tiny sliver of cream cheese on one side of the bagel. So we started paying extra for the cream cheese and still they would barely put any on there. Why am I paying 5 dollars for cream cheese on an already expensive bagel and they won't even do the request it shouldn't be on the menu. Today we asked for a cup of cream cheese instead of the side and now the bacon was literally half raw. Like not slightly undercooked literally half raw. And it said crispy bacon on the bag. I hope I do not get food poisoning and they just dont care anymore about the food they are giving you and when you have a problem they will not remake it and the cashier argues with you. This is getting ridiculous almost every time I get a bagel they somehow mess it up. Nowhere else has fresh bagels like this so I'm just disappointed.

Iced latte was the worst I've ever had. It was too milky, I couldn't taste any coffee. Vegan burrito tasted good but was doused in oil. Dripped extensively through all the packaging.
The bagels are just like bread. The bagels are steamed (not boiled), so they are not very chewy or tasty. They cost $3.25 — a lot for a bad bagel. The service was really slow, and there is an up-charge for plant-based milk. Never again
Bro this place sucks. Coffee is watered down and tastes awful and cheap. It’s so expensive too. Long wait and cashier is so rude.
