Came here because I wanted to try Detroit style pizza and someone had recommended it. Can easily say that the quality of pizza is excellent. It is definitely not a stereotypical American slice (think deep dish with a nice charred & crispy cheese around the edges). They do well for themselves. Do note that the seating inside during the day time is a little dark and the outside seating was really crowded, also note that the pricing is not necessarily the lowest for a slice, but if you’re here for good pizza you will find that.

I stopped by to try their breakfast. I was hoping for a breakfast pizza entree, haha! 😅 ... Service was great. They have a seating area in the brewery, and clean bathrooms... They have options for office catering /meeting bfst too!

Oh. My. Gosh. This Emmy pizza was to DIE FOR. I already can’t wait to come back! We came for a friends birthday and forgot cake so we ordered 4 orders of brownie and they made it into a cake for us and even gave us candles, shout out to Bridget from their staff she even lent us a lighter! Made our day!!! But seriously this pizza was so amazing, come hungry this place serves vibes and good food!

I have eaten here two times and never been disappointed. I really like their Hawaiian pizza, it is so good. The cheese is amazing, it tastes fantastic. The pineapples on pizza are sweet and juicy. They feel pretty fresh. Pizza itself is crusty, baked perfectly. Another pizza I like is the classic one, with just cheese. The prices are a bit high but the food totally worth it. There is also a brewery next to it and you can order pizza to there which is pretty convenient.

Living my best life with this deliciousness! I went next door to Santa Monica Brew and luckily got to order from here, the pesto pepperoni pizza literally changed my life! Chicago style, full of flavor, fully loaded and tastes magical the next morning too. I’m not even a pizza person but I’m definitely going back, great location and summertime vibes!

By far the most expensive hamburger I’ve ever had $40 dollars i was in shock when i paid that amount for the burger . To me it tasted as any burger the only difference is the meat really juicy and tender the brioche bun gave it a different taste also the chili flakes gave it a nice spice overall the hamburger was delicious heres some proof of the paid amount for a combo. I also looked at my receipt so you also will get charged 18.00% service fee from staff 😱👀

First time here, in from out of town. Ordered the pepperoni and jalapeño pizza. It was delicious. Sweet sauce, which I enjoy and great flavor. Price is a little steep. 5 star rating based on pizza quality and taste. Highly recommend.

It's expensive but it's the best Detroit style pizza I've ever had. I can't hate thos place for being expensive. Santa Monica prices are insane, it's not like they created the economy here they just live in it. Go call your congressman if this is too expensive. These people just make food

Solid Detroit styled pizza in Santa Monica. Just when I was thinking LA doesn’t do good Detroit style, emmy squared proves me wrong. The crust is thick but light. Burnt (slight char) on the edges with a buttery doughy texture. Ingredients felt higher quality and toppings were adequate. A solid offering in the area. Not as stellar as Square Pie Guys in the Bay Area but respectable for a celebrated NY chain. We tried 3: Margherita was our favorite, tomato sauce that wasn’t sweet (unlike joes NY pizza), cheese that was ample and in the crust too, and enough basil to go around. You get around 6 square slices and it tastes better the next day. Umami. Roni overload was solid and the meat eaters loved it. They said it had enough pepperoni and flavor for them to keep going back for more. Deeply satisfying. Vegan caramelized onion and garlic confit was an interesting attempt that may need finessing. Since it doesn’t come with sauce, it has to work harder. The vegan cheese was decent but it lacked a dimension of flavor compared to the others. Perhaps the least successful of the 3 but has a lot of potential with some flavor development. We also tried the impossible meat balls that didn’t deliver well. And a side of mushrooms for the baby who seemed to like it. Overall a solid Detroit styled pizza place that is sure to satisfy all your pizza cravings. Delivered well.

Pizza spot built into the same space as Santa Monica Brewery. Delicious deep dish pizza (Detroit Style?) Slightly pricey compared to other pizza spots, but it’s worth it!

I’m not usually a fan of this style of pizza (I guess it’s sort of Detroit style?) but I actually really enjoy this place. They have a decent lunch deal that is fairly affordable for Santa Monica and it’s attached to SM Brew works so it’s a great after work spot too. Friendly staff, delicious pizza. You can tell they care about their sauce and quality of ingredients. Great place for a beer and a slice

This is the best Detroit style pizza in town. But there is a long wait time on a busy day. The sauce is generously served on top, a nice balance of sweet and salty. The burrata was layered using a good ratio: one burrata chunk per slice. A fresh basil leaf garnished the very top. The pizza can get sloppy, and I recommend you prepare for this. Sauce 5/5 and Cheese 5/5 The crust is an experience: the bottom side has a nice toast, the middle is fluffy, and the edges are crispy and crunchy. Crust 5/5 The price is on the higher end ($25). I think two poeple could split one pizza, especially if you are having brews at Santa Monica Brew Works. Update: I also ordered delivery and it was great. Consistent quality!

Due to the lack of Detroit Pizza options in LA, if you want it - this is one of the few places you can get it. It’s good but it had nothing on the greats of Detroit Pizza. It’ll do but it is far away from an expression of great Detroit Pizza. The dough is where they shine here. I tried the Colony as per the workers insistence that it is their signature and what they are known for. They may be too reliant on toppings to make their Pizza good. Plain cheese should be something you have confidence in. However, Pepperoni is often considered the base line way to eat Detroit Pizza by most people into it. At times the Colony was soaking wet from all the toppings which isn’t exactly what I am looking for. I don’t want it dry either obviously. This place is more for people with pedestrian Pizza taste, not for real Pizza Elitists. If you want truly great Pizza in LA go to Ozzy’s Apizza, Little Dynamite, Prime Pizza, Apolonia’s and Hot Tongue. If you want references for great Detroit Style Pizza - go to San Francisco and try the following Cellarmaker House of Pizza, Pizza Hacker, Capo’s, Long Bridge Pizza Company, Sunset Squares and then tell me Emmy’s is good. You won’t tell me that. If this was One Bite, 6.8. It’s really not bad but the Pizza is like the logo - looks good I guess but it’s a real low effort illustration. Emmy’s somehow has branches all over the Country. So does Blaze Pizza. So did Sbarro. So did Sbarro. Safe to say, this place is decent given how limited representation Detroit Style has in LA. However, over $30 for this thing is NOT worth it when you consider what you can get around $20 full pie-wise in LA from other places with phenomenal Pizza. Likely goes well with drinking which is great because they are part of a bigger Brewing Company with other food and drinks and festivities going on.

It’s 4.35 actually not 4…. The Detroit-style pizza here uses top-quality ingredients, and the taste is great, but the price is steep. While I enjoyed the experience, I'm not sure the cost justifies a repeat visit. Worth trying, but maybe not worth the splurge every time.

The vibe at Santa Monica brew works is pretty cool. We were pretty amazed how fast the pizza and food came out. It's dog and kid friendly. The pizza was pretty good. Not as good as NY style pizza, but still good.

I never knew there was a pizza place near this brewery! Honestly pretty cool space with very friendly staffs. I wish I loved the pizza but it fell a little short from my expectation. For the price, the size is on the smaller side so it feels a bit overpriced. Maybe it’s due to the location? Just doesn’t match up to it. I expected better pizza for that price. The quality is okay; its not great but it’s not bad. Dough is alright but the sauce and the toppings are average.. really just lacks a punch for the price. Chicken crunchers were probably my favorite here lol kinda awkward to say for the pizza house but I really enjoyed it. I’d come back for these crunchers but not the pizza.

Never in my life have I paid $63 for 2 pizzas. When you first drive up, you really have to question if you're walking into the right place. The sign says Emmy' Squared pizza, but walking in, it's very industrial. When I walked in, I had to ask if I was even at the right place, even to the point you don't smell pizza cooking. 🤨 Than, when I placed my Hawaiian pizza order and a deluxe, I wasn't expecting the automatic 18% "service fee"; call it what it is, a tip. What if I didn't like the service? So now 2 pizzas are over $60. 🤯 Now the pizza comes, and at first glance, I couldn't get past all of the grease. I literally used 2 napkins to pat the pizza to soak up the grease. The deep dish pizza itself had a pretty good flavor, but the Chile glaze was way too sweet. The crust, was nice and crunchy. Overall, Emmy Squared Pizza gets a 7 from me. I think for the price and what I got, I'll stay with the @Dominospizza or @pizzahutpizza. They are just fine, and I usually have money for a drink. 👍🏽 pizza crust 👍🏽 just enough crisp on the edges 👍🏽 fresh ingredients 👎🏽Price 👎🏽middle was too soft 👎🏽mandatory gratuity 👎🏽 Lack of one of my favorite toppings (olives). I'm glad that I went for the experience, but sorry Emmy's you're a one and done for me. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Good but expensive for what it is. They moved from a tipping policy to a standard 18%, which for a counter service is not acceptable in my opinion. They have a sign on their counter notifying you though. We were the only ones at lunchtime and waited for our order (one pizza) ~15mins for takeout. The pizza itself was good, but I had better for way cheaper. The sauce is good. The staff was nice, they offered the usual chili flakes and Parmesan. Parking is plenty

Simply put--possibly the worst pizza I've ever had. If you want a loaf of bread with two pieces of pepperoni on it, this is your place! We also tried several of the appetizers which were mediocre. Don't really know how to rate the service since for the most part it's self-serve. The only thing that makes this bearable is that it's located next to the brewery. As a standalone pizza place, I couldn't even fathom the idea that it could survive on its own. But seriously, the pizza is the worst. There were two of us and didn't even finish it, and not because we weren't hungry.
