Homemade taste with great service and prices. The girls here are amazing cooks and have wonderful attitudes
Tucked away in a small strip center, this place turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The food tasted truly authentic and even included adventurous options like chili seasoned grasshoppers which made the experience memorable. The prices felt fair for the quality. The only thing I wished for was access to a restroom, especially after a long trip, but the meal itself absolutely satisfied me. I would still recommend stopping by for the unique flavors.
Drinks & food were affordable & good & delivered pretty swiftly. Rice didn't look as expected but still cooked well and good when mixed with the chicken y mole. If you get the iced matcha drink & especially with flavored foam, don't forget to mix it well. I got nondairy milk with it but also strawberry foam and it was yummier post-mixing.
The taco is delicious and freshly made. The meat is so juicy and tasty. Good quality with friendly prices.
Situated in a very compact strip center, the restaurant offered good and authentic food, including chili grasshoppers or possibly crickets. The prices were average. Unfortunately, there were no public restrooms, which was inconvenient since this was our first meal after a long drive.
Very delicious tacos. Steak was juicy, tortillas soft and warm, the 3 salsas were super good, the guacamole was also very good. 10/10 recommend.
Fantastic street tacos LOADED with meat and all the fixings. The highlight of our meal was the black mole chicken plate. Overall ~$40 for 6 tacos, mole and a Jamaica drink and 10x the quality of some fancy joints by the beach. We will be back! P.S. get there by 11:30 to beat the lunch rush
A superb find in a tiny strip mall about a mile from the Santa Monica pier! We're big fans of Mexican cuisine and have had great Mexican food experiences in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Mexico and our home area of Madison, WI. This list could go on and on. Now, in telling the person who served us how great their Mexican food is, he gently corrected us that this is Oaxacan food.😃😃 The mole was definitely of the Oaxacan style, dark, rich, ever so slightly gritty with pumpkin seed, slightly spicy and absolutely delicious! Our other choice was berria tacos 🌮 I've had some delicious versions of this in Arizona, Wisconsin, and Texas, but sometimes they lack a distinct taste and are too wet. These were exceptionally flavorful and the perfect degree of moisture. I only give 4 stars to give a heads up on the location. Three tables and you share the dining room with coolers and the service counter. The staff was friendly, authentic and competent. Because of our gushing over the food, our server treated us to 2 cups of their horchata... again, delicious.
Santa Monica hole-in-the-wall serving Oaxacan food and Mexican food standbys. Came here for lunch on a Saturday, and ate the food in nearby Hotchkiss Park. There were a few outdoor dining tables, but the majority of people that came in got takeout. Credit cards are accepted, and you can call ahead or order online for pickup. Limited parking is available in the strip mall lot. The Oaxacan burrito is vegetarian, but you have the option to add meat for an additional cost. I was curious about the Oaxacan cheese that came inside of it, and I would describe it as a smoky mozzarella. The burrito also came with black beans, rice, a smattering of avocado, and salsas. The street tacos are $2.25, with an additional charge for lengua or asada. The chivo (goat) taco has a deep flavor and was tender. My dad said his tripas taco was the best he’s ever had. Overall, a nice spot to grab some reasonably priced Mexican food in SM.

A worthy little hole in the wall joint. 🤘 The only thing missing was the side of salsa to add sparingly to my delicious veggie burrito! I don’t know what they put in their beans, but it’s gooood! Muy Buena! They should relocate to a better location or add another place.
I love this place. Staff is kind, and the food is always delicious! ☺️ This time I tried (for the 1st time) the Machaca con huevo and the Café de olla, and they were both delightful! 🤤
Went in on a Monday about 1. Friendly, pleasant service. Soft shell street tacos were excellent. The facilities very clean and parking lot rgt in front.
Big ups to the SaMo's Oaxaca staff! This is my go-to spot on the Westside for Mexican food. The quality of the meat and freshness of all of their menu items really show care and pride are the most important ingredients for making delicious food. The burritos are BOMB and Taco Tuesday always hits!
We love SaMo's Oaxaca, especially fish tacos and shrimp tacos. They are the best I've had anywhere, including Ensenada! I love the relish with mango and cucumber and red onion. Perfect and yummy and colorful!.
Best burritos in town! The place is super cute and staff is friendly! I highly recommend if you’re craving some authentic Oaxacan food!
The food here is great. But I was really blown away because of their customer service! I forgot to mention I was allergic to Avocado and ordered a California burrito. They were so kind to remake it for me even though it was my fault
We mostly order this as delivery and they have been great. The Oaxaca burrito is our go to and the tacos are tasty as well.

Delicious food and great service. Burritos are amazing and I recommend trying some of the authentic Oaxacan dishes as well!

Delicious traditional authentic MEXICAN food, it fills your heart. The girls who helped us were so nice, fast and efficient. Place warm and clean.
I came here for the first time. I ordered the carne asada torta with an horchata. The torta was delicious. It came with lettuce, tomato, onion, beans, aguacate, and the famous Oaxaca cheese 😋 so good. The horchata wasn't that great. It was a little too watery. I'm sure they can make it better. I was also disappointed that they didn't have a restroom for customers so you can't wash your hands before you eat. They have tables and chairs for you to eat and drink but you can't use the restroom if you have to go! Very disappointing.
Went on a Sunday morning and no one was inside so we ordered quickly. They have seating inside and one small table outside. We both ordered breakfast burritos, cafe de olla and the passion fruit agua fresca (good). The burrito portion was ok and the drinks were good. The red salsa was better than the green one. Looks like they a good sized menu so I would consider returning and trying other items. Place was clean inside but they do not have a public restroom.

Over $29 for two[2] burritos. Mine was a bean and cheese, $10.95 I personally feel that it was too wet for the type of tortilla because it wouldn't keep closed at the bottom of burrito, and even though the plating was quaint, it's over priced my fiancee ordered the Chorizo potato and egg Chipotle style $16.95, it's extremely too expensive
I ordered the beef flauta plate, super nachos, and burrito cargado. When I choose the beef option for the flautas, I thought I would get shredded beef. Instead it was ground beef, they should write that on the description. The flautas were fresh & crunchy, which I did love! For the super nachos, I asked if they could substitute the chips for fries. Which they did! I was happy about that. I got it with the carne asada, I wasn't a huge fan of the taste. It was salty and too lemony. But I did love the toppings, it was a huge portion too! Enough to share! Perfect. The burrito was DELICIOUS! Only downside was that it had no beans, I thought it was suppose to come with black beans. I could be wrong though. The protein option I went with was Al pastor, super delicious too! For the price of the burrito, I expect everything that is in the description to be inside the burrito.
